REPORT: Steve Bannon Claims “They’re Going To Crack Don Junior Like An Egg” In Explosive New Book

The Guardian reports:

Donald Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon has described the Trump Tower meeting between the president’s son and a group of Russians during the 2016 election campaign as “treasonous” and “unpatriotic”, according to an explosive new book seen by the Guardian.

Bannon, speaking to author Michael Wolff, warned that the investigation into alleged collusion with the Kremlin will focus on money laundering and predicted: “They’re going to crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV.”

Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, reportedly based on more than 200 interviews with the president, his inner circle and players in and around the administration, is one of the most eagerly awaited political books of the year. In it, Wolff lifts the lid on a White House lurching from crisis to crisis amid internecine warfare, with even some of Trump’s closest allies expressing contempt for him.

Ok that actually takes some skill, I can do it when requested. I like the yolk so no whites only for me.

Edit: The extra yolk is good for baking if one is going to be the same day.

          • Gretchen

I should print your instructions and tape them above the sink. I shouldn’t give him such a hard time. Neither of us are well, and he does work all day in a factory. I can’t stand at the sink long enough to do them, so I should just be grateful that he does them at all. I really wish he would just use the dishwasher, but he is convinced it doesn’t do a good job.

The secret to perfectly peeled hard boiled eggs is…steam them for 9-10 minutes in an already hot cooker. Then, put 3-4 eggs in a storage container that’s half full of cold water. Add lid, shake hard. Open and the peel slips right off. I used to eat 3 a day for years until recently when my total cholesterol went from 100 to 145.

          • AmeriCanadian

Interesting. I eat several eggs (no yolk) every day as they are a great source of protein but I hate peeling them. I usually end up with bits of the egg white removed along with the part of the shell that won’t give way. My husband just looks at me and shakes his head. I’ll have to give your suggestion a try.

          • marshlc

Or just crack them a bit after cooking – hit them with a knife – and let them sit in water for a few minutes. You need a little water to get under the membrane, and it doesn’t really matter how you go about that.

Also, make sure your hard boiled eggs are supermarket eggs, and not farmer’s market – fresh eggs are a lot harder to peel.

          • AmeriCanadian

That’s interesting that you say that fresh eggs are harder to peel because after I moved to Canada, I began having more of an issue peeling them. I just spent a week in Florida and I hard-boiled eggs purchased there and I had no problem. I wonder if the chicken’s diet has anything to do with it as well. In Canada, growth hormones are not allowed in poultry.

          • sach2

I’ve always heard fresher eggs are harder to peel. I think that is why I’ve always had problems because I am a “use by date” paranoid fanatic.

And I find Egglands Best eggs particularly hard to peel. Don’t know if they are generally fresher or something they feed the chickens that makes them that way. But package says stays fresher longer,

“You realise where this is going,” he is quoted as saying. “This is all about money laundering. Mueller chose [senior prosecutor Andrew] Weissmann first and he is a money-laundering guy. Their path to fucking Trump goes right through Paul Manafort, Don Jr and Jared Kushner … It’s as plain as a hair on your face.”

Last month it was reported that federal prosecutors had subpoenaed records from Deutsche Bank, the German financial institution that has lent hundreds of millions of dollars to the Kushner property empire. Bannon continues: “It goes through Deutsche Bank and all the Kushner shit. The Kushner shit is greasy. They’re going to go right through that. They’re going to roll those two guys up and say play me or trade me.”

Scorning apparent White House insouciance, Bannon reaches for a hurricane metaphor: “They’re sitting on a beach trying to stop a Category Five.”

      • Tawreos

Thank you, I am not familiar with him and need to judge how much weight to give this.

        • Reality.Bites

Since the article refers to Bannon saying it directly to the author this would almost always mean it was on the record and recorded.

It’s when the sources are off the record as in the last quote that the author’s reputation really comes into play: Wolff writes that Thomas Barrack Jr… allegedly told a friend: “He’s not only crazy, he’s stupid.”

This means he spoke to the friend and almost certainly has that conversation recorded too (for accuracy), but it’s from a source. We have to trust both that the source is in a position to hear things from Thomas Barrack Jr *and* that Barrack said it *and* the source remembers correctly and isn’t accidentally or willfully putting their spin on it.

And finally we have to remember that it’s just an opinion, and a commonly held one at that. Barrack saying Trump’s not only crazy but stupid comes about as close to an objective statement of fact as one can get. Trump being crazy and stupid isn’t a special insight Barrack has. It’s common knowledge with ample evidence available to literally everyone.

The Bernie/Jill people were whipped into a frenzy by Kremlin controlled bots. Without the constant drumbeat, some of them might have come around or at least stayed home on elction day.

Reports from inside the bubble are about the only reason why I’d care what he has to say.

“…one of the most eagerly awaited political books of the year.” All 3 days of it.

Bannon needs to tell Drumpf it is over and he needs to step down

    • clay

Bannon ought to, but why would he feel any need to?

  • gaycuckhubby

Check out this thread. This is how the Republican will operate in 2018. I don’t think it will work, I hope it won’t.

    This should be fun.

Red Flag Moment: When any of these people show any concern for another person or moral principle. They’ve spent their adult lives caring only about themselves doing whatever they had to getting it. Any new found “concern” for others is bullshit.

    • jmax

      it’s not bullshit. It’s money 🙂

    • Gerry Fisher

I don’t see this as a concern for others. (Otherwise, Bannon never would have become a part of–or remained a part of–the Trump bandwagon.) I think that it’s more a strong desire to throw Jared and Ivanka under the bus. As is usually the case with Bannon, it’s actually an expression of hatred.

      • JAKvirginia

Well, yeah! Their “concern trolling” is just that. They’re always in it for themselves.

        • kareemachan

I hope ALL of them are looking nervously over their shoulders….

  • The_Wretched

Bannon wants attention? That’s how I’m reading this. It’s not like we can rely on the facts of anything he says.

    • customartist

Yes. He is similar to Trump in that way.
Scant substance behind the façade, as it relates to the ability to govern; administratively, legislatively, or diplomatically. Three more years of National humiliation.

    > Any information, [Bannon] said, could then be “dump[ed] … down to Breitbart or something like that, or maybe some other more legitimate publication”.

I love how he threw shade on his very own publication.

Freudian slip, or a wee bit of self-awareness? Either way, it got a chuckle out of me.

No tweets from dRumpf about all this? How can he not?

Well, I hope Fox & Friends is covering this book debut frequently and thoroughly.

    “Explosive” as in explosive diarrhea?

    Good.
