Mike Huckabee: Trump Is America’s Winston Churchill

This afternoon liar Mike Huckabee, father of liar White House press secretary Sarah Liar Huckabee Sanders, lied that Trump is a modern day Winston Churchill. Huckabee went on to shill for the just-out Churchill biopic, The Darkest Hour. As you’ll see below, Twitter wasn’t having hit. They weren’t having it a lot.

  • Jerry Kott

Because his daugther needs her job?

    • kaydenpat

He was an awful person long before his lying daughter got her current job. That’s just how he rolls.

    • J Ascher

She doesn’t want to go the Sally Struthers route and be the spokesperson for a “Christian” charity!

  • Slippy_World
    • Todd20036

I may be flaming, and I may have a nice sac…

      • FAEN

        Flame away dude!

    • Dreaming Vertebrate

Don’t glare accusingly at this little dino, Manure-Chin.
That’s horse poop, not Dino poop!
      Innocent! {this time}

  • nocadrummer

Lying just seems to run in the family.

    • kaydenpat

      In the entire party.

    • olandp

That cunning stunt came by her dishonesty honestly.

  • Barry William Teske

    Oh look!
Mike Huckabee is doubling down on armageddons.
Not hard to guess what he is invested in.

  • Pollos Hermanos

    It’s true.

I remember Churchill bragging about “clutching her by her fanny” when he was on a carriage ride on the way to film a newsreel.

    • margaretpoa

“One can get away with it when one is in the Admiralty, what?”

    • Natty Enquirer

“Fanny” is not the same thing at all. Perhaps “the venerable monosyllable.”

      • Reality.Bites

In Britain it is exactly the same thing. Cis men don’t have them

        • FAEN

Isn’t fanny a butt in Britain?

          • greenmanTN

Nope. There’s a funny Graham Norton bit about that, two actresses talking about working in Hollywood and giggling because “fanny” means the front bits in the UK. I was going to link the clip but can’t remember who the guests were.

          • SkokieGuy [ChicagoAdjacentGuy]

That adds a whole new shade of meaning to vaudeville legend Fanny Brice.

          • Nowhereman

I know, right? Now I have to rethink everything I thought I knew.

          • Nowhereman

Interesting! So “Fanny Hill” means “Mound of Venus”…

        • Natty Enquirer

I stand corrected and have learned something valuable today. The British usage is older, probably deriving from the novel Fanny Hill or Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure. The Americans got it wrong way ’round by 1920.

      • Pollos Hermanos

Fanny is quite vulgar in the UK.

        • Paul

Didn’t know that. Must’ve been interesting when the musical FUNNY GIRL came to town

      • Dayglo

        Front bottom. Minge.

    • kaydenpat

Lol!! So that wasn’t my imagination after all. Good to know,

  • joe ho

The value of a Baptist education!

    • Butch

      Silly liberal. You misspelled edumacashun.
(Do I need to add /s just in case?)

    • FAEN

‘Baptist’ and ‘education’ just seem wrong together.

    • Chucktech

      RESULTS of a Baptist education.

    • Steverino

And graduates of Trump University got a bupkis education.

    • Uncle Mark

If Obama was “Chamberlain” then Trump is “Chamber Pot.”

  • Gustav2

BTW, did anyone tell him he is no longer a governor?

  • Ranger One

Comparing that puny brat to Churchill is an obscenity.

    • FAEN

Puny? He’s never been puny unless you were speaking about his brain, hands and pee pee.

      • Ranger One

        No, always puny.

  • Mark Née Fuzz

This is one of his infamous and feeble attempts at humor, isn’t it?

    • kaydenpat

We can no longer tell given how much his side lies about every dang thing.

    • FAEN

Fuckabee fancies himself as a stand up comic. He’s just sad and pathetic.

  • Wynter Marie Starr

Perhaps you should be checked out for Alzheimer’s. Anyone that would compare trump to Churchill is lacking sanity, intelligence, common sense, and is likely ill. My sympathies to your treasonous family.

    • JAKvirginia

And check his reading and comprehension skills. Like, are there no biographies of Churchill in print?

      • Wynter Marie Starr

I doubt he has anything much above trumps scores, which are estimated at the third grade level. So, maybe a 4th grade level?

    • StudioTodd

He’s not ill. He’s just a liar. And a republican. And a christian.

      • Wynter Marie Starr

Perhaps. All you’ve stated is true. It doesn’t mean he’s he’s also not ill. Mentally, of course.

        • StudioTodd

If he’s mentally ill, he’s not responsible for the disinformation he craps out. If he’s mentally ill, he doesn’t know that he’s spreading lies in order to support a political agenda (in direct contradiction to his professed “religious beliefs”).

He’s not mentally ill. He knows what he’s doing.

          • Wynter Marie Starr

Excellent points. Although most mentally ill people are capable of and do know right from wrong and can still plot and plan. Especially if they have personality disorders, which is what trump appears to have.

  • Blake J Butler

    Belated christmas gift to fuckabee.

    You+dick= go suck a dick

  • Henry Auvil

And Melania is totally Eleanor Roosevelt, but with better cheekbones.

  • Reality.Bites

Who can forget that part where Chamberlain sent his forces out and they killed Hitler?

    • JAKvirginia

And then Shirley Temple sang to the injured troops in hospital?

  • MikeBx2

Without preparation, Trump couldn’t tell you the first thing about Churchill. Hell, he couldn’t spell Churchill.

    • Charles Nelson

But he does know that Churchill lived (was born) in the largest private house in England.

  • William

Churchill dangled the Lusitania as a taget for German U-boats, hoping to draw the US into the war.
I still wouldn’t compare him to Trump.

    • …and it took 50 years before the full manifest was released which proved the German accusations were correct.

      • William

The Royal Navy dropped depth charges on the shipwreck during the 20’sand 30’s, trying to destroy the evidence.

  • CA2017

    Huckabee’s statement is simply delusional.

    • kaydenpat

“Simply delusional” is the perfect way to describe so much of this current administration.

      • JCF

        “Delusional” isn’t malevolent enough.

    • StudioTodd

It’s not delusion, though. Huckabee doesn’t believe his lie anymore than we do. He just knows that the moronic uneducated Trump-supporting base will believe it without question.

It’s part of the ongoing republican (and christian) disinformation campaign.

  • margaretpoa

Trump thinks Churchill is a city in New Zealand.

    • Charles Nelson

And New Zealand is an island just off his golf course in Scotland.

      • Cackalaquiano

…and all the immigrants from New Zealand have AIDS

  • Licensed Troll

    Oh barf!

  • JWC

That is one of the most baseless and idiotic comparrisons yet made. Churchill had his faults was a roaring alcoholic but did one (many) thing(s)Trump hasn’t He kept Britain together Trump in one year has totally divided the US Will someone go kick Mike Huckabees fat ass

    • Cucker “Dick” Tarlson

Line forms on the LEFT. 😊

  • Blake J Butler

Hey child molesters make mistakes if they are conservative and Christian. Roy Moore deserved to be in the senate because we needed a republican in the senate even i he is a child molester that was banned from a mall from stalking girls.

Hey mr. Two feathers shy of a dump truck has a diabetes cure he wants to sell to you too.

So tell me again why baby Huey is more like Churchill.

  • Henry Auvil

And Obama was so like Chamberlain… Putin hated Obama because he stood up and punished him for his transgressions. Unlike the current “churchill” in the White House who gets on his knees and makes slobbering noises whenever the subject of Putin comes up.

  • Boreal
  • margaretpoa

Well, he thinks he can play bass guitar too.

  • kaydenpat

Huckabee has no shame. Hence his outsize love for an unrepentant bigot.

    • Todd20036

He has plenty of size though

      • kaydenpat

  • Friday

Funny, I didn’t know Churchill ‘loved the uneducated,’ that way, there, lying preacher-man. Cause they’re the only ones that would believe the toadying bullshit you’re trying to shovel (again.)

  • Cheeto Twittler is no Churchill. He’s more like Mussolini’s incompetent inbred half-cousin.

  • AtticusP

Winston Churchill was a great man.

Donald Trump is a great liar.

    Big difference there, Suckabee.

    • FAEN

The BEST liar. All the top people are saying so.

    • Friday

I dunno if I’d even call him a ‘great liar,’ ….he’s a transparent, pathological, boorish liar with the Republican and corporate media and right-wing Christian machines and Russian trolls covering for him constantly anyway.

      • AtticusP

And yet he still has about 1/3 of the country bamboozled.

        You just can’t fix stupid.

        You can, however, medicate it.

      • Gianni

I agree. Not great, just insistent, repetitive, compulsive, loud. Did I say repetitive/repetitive/repetitive? See? Three times in one sentence just like Donnie does.

  • Ragnar Lothbrok

What a dumbfuck thing to say.
And why ?? Just to make sure that little Sarah keeps her job ?

    • FAEN

      It’s Fuckabee dude!

Always good to see you matey 😉

      • Ragnar Lothbrok

        Cheers !

  • coram nobis

“Darkest Hour” is out in theaters. Huckabee might very well benefit from watching it — at least he wouldn’t find it so easy to make stupid comparisons.

Now, if Huckabee wants to know what today’s White House is like he can always watch “I, Claudius” on DVD.

    • Chucktech

It’s beyond appalling that Huckabee would have to be schooled in how non-Churchillian Trump is by a movie.

      • coram nobis

        Anything to get his attention.

        • Nowhereman

Nothing short of a two by four will do that.

    • Cucker “Dick” Tarlson

He won’t go see the movie while it’s in theaters the same time as that libtard one with Merle Street and Tom Banks.*

*Seriously, his base of yokels is real upset about that one and say that “The Post” is stupid liberal loser movie that they’ll NEVER watch.

They shut the fuck up when I remind them that they said they’d never shop at Nordstrom, either.

      • Nowhereman

I love it when they swear to boycott places they wouldn’t be caught dead in.

  • TheGrandWazoo2

“Churchill helped defeat fascists. Trump retweets them. ”

    Brian Klaas for the win!

These assholes are truly beyond delusional to compare Churchill to BLOTUS!

    🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

  • MikeBx2

I bet a thousand bucks Huckabee has Melania’s nude pics on his phone.

    • FAEN

I’m sure all his children do as well. Seriously, if you can find the X Files episode ‘Home’(season 4)you should watch it. That’s the Huckabee clan.

      • Menergy

I recently ordered and received the entire X Files series on DVD to have the whole catalog of the series, so I’ll check this episode to see if it’s the one I think it is….and if it’s the one, it’s the creepiest, possibly most disturbing episode ever! (still in my brain after all these years!)

        • FAEN

          Yep that’s the one.

  • BJORN RAGNVALDR

In the vernacular of my youth, Trump couldn’t carry Churchills water.

  • Dreaming Vertebrate

Churchill was feared and abhored by Nazis.
Dotard Trump is cheered and adored by Nazis.
    Big difference!

    • Nowhereman

      good point.

Lil Mikey has been listening to David Barton again….

  • Karl Dubhe 2

If there’s an afterlife, Churchill’s gonna kick Huckabee’s arse from Jerusalem to Vancouver, and back again.

Sure. And Melania will be crowned as Czarina of Slovenia on the Feast of Epiphany.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengal_famine_of_1943

According to historians Bayly and Harper, quite apart from the exigencies of war, it was difficult not to conclude, that the Churchill war ministry and Winston Churchill himself had a visceral hostility toward India; “The prime minister believed that Indians were the next worst people in the world after the Germans. Their treachery had been plain in the Quit India movement. The Germans he was prepared to bomb into the ground. The Indians he would starve to death as a result of their own folly and viciousness.”

  • Rebecca Gardner

Now Mikey will have to look really hard for movies in order to find out who Buddha and Pol Pot are.

    • JCF

“Comparing @realDonaldTrump to Churchill is like comparing Buddha to Pol Pot”

Rhetorically, I think you meant to say (A to B; C to D), “Trump to Churchill is like comparing Pol Pot to Buddha”? [Or perhaps punchier, “Comparing Churchill to @realDonaldTrump to is like comparing Buddha to Pol Pot”!]

  • Al Prazolam

I’m a big admirer of Churchill and Mike Huckabee has insulted one of the greatest leaders of the 20th Century. Comparing Trump to the British PM is like comparing Hitler to Jesus Christ. Huckabee again proves himself to be an ignoramus who probably never even read a book on Churchill.

    • Cattleya1

I think it is a sure thing that Huckabee has never read any of Churchill’s brief writings, let alone “The History of the English Speaking People”. He’d certainly need help with the big words. 45 can’t even read a half page of bullet points with little words…

  • teedofftaxpayer

Huckelberry is Trump’s biggest ass kisser.

    • Oh there are so many others who can rival him. So many others. Huckleberry is just one dingberry hanging from the turd bunch!

  • How ridiculous and beyond contempt a comparison. If Trump is Churchill, then Huckabee best resembles the ass-kissing traitor William Joyce who broadcast from Berlin during World War 2, otherwise known as Lord Haw-Haw. https://youtu.be/RH7pybcw92I

    • ChrisMorley

Lord Haw-Haw was hanged at Wandsworth Prison, London, on 3 January 1946, making him the second to last person to be executed for treason in the United Kingdom (before Theodore Schurch the following day).

      • Mihangel apYrs

Joyce was Irish, so his charge and execution for treason was questionable. But victors’ justice, wot!

        • ChrisMorley

William Brooke Joyce was born on Herkimer Street in Brooklyn, New York,[2] United States.
          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Joyce

          • So Churchill’s mother was born in Brooklyn also, Jennie Jerome. Funny how that works out. Brooklyn was its own city before 1898 — the 4th biggest in the USA back then.

          • Mihangel apYrs

I had always thought that he was Irish, so I’ve learned something!

  • Gianni

Mike, you have just taken ass-sucking to a new and higher level. What do you want in return? You know how generous Donnie can be when one kisses up enough. It’s clear why daughter is so good at lying. Daddy gave her good solid lessons.

  • James

    LOLOLOLOL no.

  • Kruhn

Let’s talk Nevill Chamberlain, you goddamned moron! Yes, Chamberlain went to Munich and proclaimed “peace in our time” only to see World War II erupt barely a year later. What everyone overlooks is that Chamberlain set the stage for Churchill to stop the Nazi advance cold.

Sure Munich was seen as a major blunder, but the fact is that Chamberlain was the most recent of a long list of weak prime ministers. Chamberlain presided over serious reduction of the defense budget as Chancellor of the Exchequer, so he actually knew how badly prepared the UK was for war in 1938. In fact, those nifty airplanes that made sure that England had “its finest hour” were programs started under Chamberlain once he realized that Hitler might be a bigger threat and despite “peace in our time” it might not last.

If WWII had started in 1938, Britain might have lost it along with France and perhaps the events of the Man in the High Castle would’ve been a reality. So while Winston Churchill deserves to all the opprobrium history has bestowed upon him, we must be mindful of the fact that without Chamberlain’s military expenditure decisions in 1937-1939, the badass RAF that kicked some Nazi butt would’ve not been available to Churchill when the rubber hit the road.

The only way Donnie Two Scoops would get anywhere to the bottom of the sole of one Sir Winston Churchill, would be for him to go fight in Afghanistan after he is impeached and removed. I doubt he’d last barely a minute in that lovely terrain. Churchill was a journalist during the Boer War and was taken prisoner. He escaped and walked the veldt in the middle of a war to Cape Town and liberation. The only war you’ve been close to has been against STD’s you fucking fat fuck.

    • Joe Eldren

Another thing to throw in the mix – the UK (as well as others) had been devastated by the losses incurred during WW1 – I’ve seen it said that no family was left untouched. Even now you can visit small villages and find cared for memorials to those lost in that conflict. So the prospect of yet another war was deeply anathemical to the British population in the 30’s. This guided British foreign policy throughout the 20/30’s and is why Chamberlain was cheered on his return from Munich. But you are quite right in noting that Chamberlain funded the expansion of the British military (as a precaution) – something all too often ignored.

The article’s claim that Churchill fought in the trenches post-Gallilope is outright nonsense. I supppose in the current days of the internet no-one checks these things!

I’m reminded of that famous put-down: “Senator, you are no Jack Kennedy”

      • Kruhn

Thanks for adding that detail I forgot to add. Neville Chamberlain was the leader of a country psychologically devastated by WWI.

  • netxtown

Unlike donnie – Churchill had a brain that wasn’t wired me, me, me.

  • Halou

Churchill collaborated with a revanchist tyrant to divide Britain from the rest of the west and insult it’s allies?

  • There are a few of Churchill’s quotes about British politicians that apply to Trump. Just cross out the British politician’s name and put in Trump. (source- http://www.lolwot.com/winston-churchills-16-greatest-jokes-and-insults/4/)
    ———–
    1. Speaking of conservative politician Stanley Baldwin, Churchill said: “I wish Stanley Baldwin no ill, but it would have been much better if he had never lived.“
    2. Liberal politician Joseph Chamberlain was once a mentor to Churchill, but after a disagreement over free trade, Churchill said “Mr. Chamberlain loves the working man, he loves to see him work.“
    3. Speaking of Labour PM Ramsay MacDonald — “We know that he has, more than any other man, the gift of compressing the largest amount of words into the smallest amount of thought.“
    4. After being disturbed on the toilet by the Lord Privy Seal, Winston said “Tell him I can only deal with one sh-t at a time!”

Yes, we all remember fondly the day Chamberlin ordered a daring raid on Hitler’s compound, killed him in the middle of the night, and dumped his body in the Indian Ocean.

That Chamberlin was a total badass.

  • DaveMiller135

Churchill was blunt. About things he had thought about before the present second. Meaning there is literally NO connection between his style and that of Trump. BTW, Huckabee, if you were hoping to be cast as Queen Victoria in this skit, Read A Book.

PS to Danny Wallace: Dude, you’re underplaying your hand. All of Britain and most of the rest of the world says that Trump is no Churchill.

Did Churchill get laughs making fun of George VI’s stutter? I did not know that. Maybe he called the Queen Mum a fat pig too.

This is just a thing. Everything I’m going to write next is true.

I’ve never said it here because – until now – it’s never been relevant.

    But I knew Winston Churchill.

He was a friend of my grandparents. And the very first human being I ever saw naked was Winston Churchill. There was nothing creepy or sexual about it. I wasn’t born in Britain so when I was a toddler and on a visit to Britain, my grandmother took me and my sister to meet her good friend Clementine.

She and I were running round being noisy while Clemmy and my grandmother caught up on gossip and Winston came out to go for his morning swim.

It was 1963 and he was an old man. He came from a generation in which he swam naked. I was a toddler and couldn’t give a damn whether a human being was naked or not. He was just shouty and my sister and I had to be quiet because we we were making a grown-up angry and granny and her nice lady friend weren’t happy.

So anyway, that was my first meeting with Winston Churchill. I met him a couple of times later during that visit to the UK – at all those times he was fully dressed – and he wasn’t interested in me or my sister at all. He had a thoroughly low opinion of my father (who was always referred to as the “runt of the litter” in family correspondence when he was a baby), and seemed amazed that not only had my father created a successful career, but also he’d managed to procreate.

The only reason I’m sharing this story is that I’d love to have the opportunity to repeat that immortal line about JFK and paraphrase it to Huckabee.

“I’ve met Winston Churchill, Mr Huckabee, And Donald Trump is no Winston Churchill.”

  • Nowhereman

“There is no finer investment for any community than putting milk into babies.” –Churchill.
Yeah, sounds just like something Trump would say…

I wasn’t even born when the war ended, and I’m not going to claim Churchill was perfect, far from it, but without any question he was the man to unite the country in a way that, so far as I know, hasn’t happened before or since. I’m aware how close Britain was to disaster in 1940, and even today when I hear some of his speeches the hairs on the back of my neck still rise up.
Can you conceive of ANY modern politician ANYWHERE making his first speech as prime minister saying “I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat”?
I don’t generally like to say too much about US politics; it’s not my country and I wouldn’t like foreigners poking their noses in mine, but… seriously… Trump? TRUMP? Churchillian? What a pathetic man Huckabee must be.
And by the way, the rest of us REALLY miss Obama.

I generally don’t add comments unless I can add some useful information or perhaps a different perspective. This was just a rant. Sorry.

Say again all, Fuckabee? I couldn’t hear you over the family fat smothered in lies and Jesus.

Let’s see. Hitler bamboozled Chamberlain. Putin bamboozled Trump.

Oh, and Churchill wrote his own books.

Edited to add: Well, come to think of it, all but one of Churchill’s children were alcoholic losers, so there is at least that parallel.
