Haters Flip Out Over Trump’s EEOC Nominee

Via press release from Tony Perkins:

The president can’t personally oversee the hiring of 4,000 political appointees — which might explain the latest news. In a shock to conservatives, the Trump administration wants to give one of the most liberal LGBT activists of the Obama years another term.

Plenty of Republicans will remember the name Chai Feldblum, Obama’s head of the EEOC. She came to the administration with an impressive resume of radicalism — complete with jobs at the Human Rights Campaign, the ACLU, and a clerkship with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun, who authored the Roe v. Wade decision.

She not only wrote the deceptively named “Employment Non-Discrimination Act” (ENDA) which is a threat to religious freedom in the workplace, she openly vowed to implement ENDA by regulations if Congress didn’t pass it.

But perhaps Feldblum is most remembered for pulling back the curtain on the same-sex marriage agenda. Asked what would happen if religious liberty clashed with the “rights” of people who identify as LGBT, she brazenly stated that she’d have “a hard time coming up with any case in which religious liberty should win.”

That’s chilling, FRC warned at the time, since as head of the EEOC, she would act as the head referee on disputes over workplace discrimination. If Americans were hoping for neutrality, they certainly didn’t get it under Chai’s leadership.

Based on the last six years, Feldblum hasn’t earned our trust — or another chance. When she was asked about the rights of Christians hiring employees of their choosing, she replied, “Gays win; Christians lose.” That’s in complete contrast with President Trump’s beliefs and stated objectives, which leads me to believe that he wasn’t briefed on Feldblum’s activism or involved in her nomination.

The last thing this president wants on his EEOC is an arch enemy of his agenda on religious liberty. Even if the commission is required to have a certain number of Democrats, the White House doesn’t have to take just anyone (or, in this case, the worst possible option).

The viciously anti-LGBT LifeSiteNews has also posted a screed against Feldblum.

    Imagine no haters…..it isn’t hard to do….

wtf? snap out of it! get thy head out of the clouds and thy feet on the ground. these people hate our guts.

  • Gustav2

Amazing, she will probably be a minority on the EEOC and they still can’t have it!

Must not allow any other opinions but ours. Must not allow any other opinions but ours. Must not allow any other opinions but ours.

  • bkmn

It is so early on a weekend morning for Tonette to have her knickers bunched up.

    • netxtown

His affliction is PBK. He’s got it real bad.

      (perpetually bunched knickers)

      • Jean-Marc in Canada

I would much prefer it if he was afflicted with PNB

        (Permanent Non Breathing)

      • Sporkfighter

Bunched knickers? No, somebody’s superglued his asshole shut. It the only thing that could make a man so mean and angry.

  • Ninja0980

But remember folks, if we just sit down with these people, they won’t hate us anymore.

  • greenmanTN

    Also Feldblum. Sounds “cosmopolitan.”

    You know they’re thinking it.

    • jerry

Or “global”…another one of their conspiracy words.

      • greenmanTN

Globalist is probably better than cosmopolitan, but I was blocking on the word…

  • worstcultever

Chai Feldblum – I’ve known that name and admired her kickasshood since forever.

Look for this reappointment to be rescinded. It slipped through the cracks, while Dump, Pence & Miller happened to all be in a heap on the floor, in a collective ecstacy coma of Jesus wanking, animal torture videos, and multiple Filets-o-Fish.

(edit: why haven’t they abolished the EEOC yet?)

    • clay

(Not until they undercut Affirmative Action in hiring and college admissions, then they can argue it’s unnecessary government waste.)

  • Floyd

I had the privilege of hearing Chai Feldblum speak a few weeks ago at an event sponsored by Equality Virginia. At that point I thought she was dead woman walking as far as her time on the EEOC. I didn’t think there was a snowball’s chance in hell she’d be reappointed. She may be the sole voice of reason in the entire government now. She is remarkable and inspiring. How they are letting her stay is beyond me because of that. I’m just glad she’s staying.

  • OdieDenCO

Chai sounds qualified and experienced. Proof positive donny had nothing to do with either her nomination or appointment.

    • j.martindale

      But is she a billionaire?

      • Frostbite

No, but then again neither is Trump.

        • ohbear1957

Let’s see some proof of what he’s worth. I hope someone at the IRS leaks all of tRump’s tax returns before the vote on the tax swindle in Congress. They must be damning.
Every day, in every interview, and at the start of every speech, the Democrats should be demanding we see 45’s returns for the past 20 years. They need to set the agenda and focus on the Republican kleptocracy.

          • Frostbite

you’ll have a better chance of Santa Claus delivering your favorite porn star under your tree than Dolt 45 releasing his tax returns. And you can bet one of the first things he did was get those put under top secret++ security when he took office.

          • David Walker

Nevertheless, on Rachel’s Law School last night one of the attorneys said that it’s common practice to request and receive tax returns from the IRS and NOT tell the person being investigated. I must admit that gave me a big smiley face.

It was a fascinating show for me. So much I don’t know was covered in 45 minutes. I’d recommend watching it on demand. Interesting, to say the least.

          • Grumpy Old Man

I disagree with ‘common practice’ but the subject of the investigation would not be informed. Only the IRS and the taxpayer (or his rep) can access tax records; we have a special unit called CI that would handle any legal access to such an account – I am not familiar enough with what CI can do with the records.

          • Jay Silversmith

He forced the IRS, at taxpayer’s expense, to build a special vault in a special room that only one of his IRS supporters has the key to. If there’s a god, Mueller already had a copy.

          • Grumpy Old Man

There is no way you or anyone else really wants the IRS to leak tax information – that is a Pandora’s Box not to be opened.
There are thousands of us who could bring up his account with ease but it is not possible to do it w/o getting caught. There has to be a reason to access someone’s account; w/o a reason, it is a firing offense + hard time in federal prison.
It would be easier to Watergate his accountant’s office.

    • SFBruce

I’d love to know how this came to be. About the only coverage I’ve seen is from the gay press and conservative Christian sites. The conservatives are, of course, are right in line with Perkins.

    *Reading article*

Huh, an Obama appointee? That’s pretty cool. Yeah, I’ve heard of her. She’s great. Dum dee dum dum…wait, “impressive resume of radicalism”? “The deceptively named ‘Employment Non-Discrimination Act'”? Who the fuck….

Oh, Tony Perkins. That explains it. Piece of shit.

  • margaretpoa

Because “non discrimination” is just like freedom: Only good when it’s your group not holding the shitty end. Fuck you, Tony. You’re not being discriminated against when you’re being asked to not discriminate against those you hate, you hypocritical jackass.

  • Oscarlating Wildely

Oh for fucks sake. I grow so goddamned tired of having to hear about these Christers and their bullshit religion getting trampled on. The US is *by far* the most Christian nation in the West. The overwhelming majority still believe in some walking reheated zombie who floated to the sky. The slogans, images, campaigns–oh the endless mentioning of religion in US campaigns– are constant. Any other country in the west would think that was literally insane. Religious liberty in this country simply means that Christians should not expect that the entire secular nation should bow to their whim. We look like Dark Age imbeciles sucking at the teat of a Bronze age collection of fairy tales– and that’s an insult to fairies.

Seriously, Christers, fuck off. Your god sucks. Your god is a made up story. It’s a joke, and a bad one at that. Believe what you want but this modern day Inquisition makes us look even more backward, superstition, and ignorant than the rest of the world already still thinks us to be.

    • Menergy

No, Oscarlating, but tell us how you really feel.

    > Unlike Tony’s Family Research Council which has a record of hiring the “best” little sister diddlers (Josh Duggar), not to mention George Alan Rekers formerly of the FRC who spent tens of thousands of dollars on a male “luggage lifter”. Is the FRC nothing but a sick nest of kiddy diddlers and viperous snakes?

    • Halou

Did they endorse Roy Moore too?

  • Kevin Andrews

This American couldn’t be happier with Ms. Feldblum’s continuing in her post at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

  • Dreaming Vertebrate

The calendar says December, but it’s time Tony’s house was flooded to the rafters again. The laaArd does not look kindly on sick creatures like Tonette who molest innocent farm animals and rumors abound that no animal is safe in the Xmas manger at the Perkins house of shame.

  • Duh-David

She is actually quite professional and seems to try to apply the laws in a gentle manner, as the laws apply.

When you’re running fast as you can Rightward, everything looks like it’s moving Left.

  • Mike__in_Houston

Miss Tonette clearly remembers Chai Feldblum while trying desperately to forget Josh Duggar.

  • Jack

It’s so obvious that her blatantly Jewish name — I mean, for Christ’s sake, “Chai” is the Hebrew word for “life” — is the real problem. Well, not the name, but that no one can NOT know she’s Jewish, i.e., not Christian.

    • GanymedeRenard

      She’s also a woman. And a lesbian.

OK, Polyanna here. One thing I have noticed about Trump is that even after people may forget, he circles around to do something about his campaign promises. Not necessarily fulfill them but do something to be able to convince himself that he has kept a promise. Could this be him throwing a bone to gay community? Just a thought and please don’t bash. Just trying to see both sides of every issue.

    • Reality.Bites

I am wondering if the EEOC is like the FCC and two of the five commissioners MUST be from the minority party. This is why the current FCC head is a Republican douchebag who was appointed by Obama.

But no, I don’t think for a minute he’s throwing us a bone. His idea of throwing a bone is appointing an Omarosa or a Ben Carson, not a legitimate representative of a community.

      • ohbear1957

Example of a gay bone: Milo Yiannopoulos as FEMA director. Only the most loathsome candidates will be considered.

        • Reality.Bites

Yes, fortunately Milo’s too crazy and too stupid to be any use to them. Same thing with Roy Moore.

    • andrew

      You should give some examples.

  • Reality.Bites

OT: Tony would love this one! Yes, Tony. You’re the one we need to protect youth from.

The government is changing the rules around which employers can qualify for funding to hire students through the Canada Summer Jobs program to try and ensure that groups advocating against abortion rights or the equality of LGBTQ2 Canadians will not be able to get funding.

At the same time, the changes will seek to boost support for groups offering services and supports to the LGBTQ2 community as well as those offering opportunities to women in engineering and mathematics, Indigenous Canadians, immigrants and minority official language communities.

The change comes after a series of articles about Liberal and Conservative MPs approving tens of thousands of dollars in summer job grants to anti-abortion groups in their ridings during the 2016 program, despite the money being made available by a government that prominently branded itself as pro-choice.

“The objective of the change is to prevent Government of Canada funding from flowing to organizations whose mandates or projects may not respect individual human rights, the values underlying the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and associated case law,” the briefing material states.

“Additionally, these changes help prevent youth (as young as 15 years of age) from being exposed to employment within organizations that may promote positions that are contrary to the values enshrined in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and associated case law. This change helps to ensure that youth job opportunities funded by the Government of Canada take place in an environment that respects the rights of all Canadians.”

  • SFBruce

Feldman has said the National Review misquoted her in the attribution Perkins describes as “brazen.” He conveniently leaves that detail out, as well as this from the same article:

Most of the time, the need to protect the dignity of gay people will justify burdening religious belief, she argues. But that does not make it right to pretend these burdens do not exist in the first place, or that the religious people the law is burdening don’t matter.”You have to stop, think, and justify the burden each time,” says Feldblum. She pauses. “Respect doesn’t mean that the religious person should prevail in the right to discriminate–it just means demonstrating a respectful awareness of the religious position.”

Perkins real problem, of course, is the mere fact that a lesbian heads the EEOC.

  • TimJ

Btw, Feldblum never said “Gays win, Christians lose”. A Perkins acolyte, Robert Knight made that up. Tony knows this. The rest of us call it what it is: “lying for Jesus”.

  • GanymedeRenard

Mr. Perkkkins’ résumé according to John Shore:

This animal. This cretin. This travesty. This demon. This parasite. This blight. This twisted purveyor of evil. This insidious enemy of everything for which Christ stood. This sickening mule. This heartless charlatan. This shameless huckster. This vile opportunist. This creator of human suffering. This trafficker in pain. This braying bully. This puffing affront to decency.
    This preening, flag-waving goon.
This grinning, slavering creature who, in exchange for money, induces children to commit suicide.
This odorous, rotten chum pretending he’s nourishment.
    This lover of hate.
If you’re a Christian who actually understands and cares about Christ, please tell anyone who will listen that Tony Perkins is to Christianity what a slimy, chewing worm is to a perfectly wonderful apple.

    • leastyebejudged

i think it’s supposed to be “odious” not “odorous”.

      • GanymedeRenard

In this context, I believe, ‘odorous’ (as in ‘fetid’) next to ‘rotten’ makes perfect sense.

        • leastyebejudged

I agree. I’m going to steal it and use both though.

          • GanymedeRenard

            By all means, please!

      • Gianni

        That too.

  • Gregory In Seattle

    A question for Mr. Perkins:

Which is more important: a black Muslim’s religious right to discriminate against white Christians, or a white Christian’s civil right not to be discriminated against? Because if you are going to say that white Christians have a religious right to discriminate, you cannot deny a black Muslim from having that very same right.

  • KnownDonorDad

Oh, don’t worry, we have the most pro-LGBT president EVAR, right?

But seriously, I suppose he can always choose someone else, who can’t spell EEOC.

  • superindy

So according to them, “religious rights” trump human rights. Assholes.

  • -M-

PerKKKins et al know as well as we do that Trump doesn’t give a fuck about their agenda just their support and flattery, neither of which they can really afford to deny him.

  • Gianni

Oh, these poor people with their religious freedom being shunned, infringed upon, and oppressed. You can go to your churches (any one or a few that you choose); pray and worship your asses off; sleep there and pray 24/7, if you wish; live the most blessed and holy lives that your minds can imagine; and then shut the fuck up. YOUR right to worship freely does not mean that you get to ignore laws, break them at your leisure w/o repercussions, and/or treat us less civilly than you would expect in any public situation. So, bottom line, Fuck Off.

  • JCF

Drumpf has a Broken Clock Moment, and I’m sure the homocons are creaming themselves…

  • obarthelemy

I’m unclear about something. Is “religious liberty” the right of each to have their own religion (incl. none), or the right of some to impose theirs on others ?

  • Jay Silversmith

If your religion prevents you from operating your public business or doing your hired public job because you cannot force others to believe as you do, you need to get your theology diploma, get a church, go preach and leave everyone else the fuck alone.
