White House Dodges On Pussygate Tape’s Authenticity

In case you weren’t watching live:

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders dodged multiple questions on Monday about whether President Trump has privately said that the infamous “Access Hollywood” recording of him is not authentic.

“The president addressed this, this was litigated and certainly answered during the election by the overwhelming support for the president and the fact he’s sitting here in the Oval Office today,” Sanders said Monday. “He’s made his position on that clear at that time, as have the American people in support of him.”

  • JaniceInToronto

    What? He’s lying again…

Really Sarah, you need to get out of there before you end up like your old man.

  • Tread

You’re a despicable wretch of a human being, Sarah. Deplorable is too good a word for you.

  • jpinphx

Sarah…go eat that damn fake pie “you made”.

If I see *one* sound/picture analysis of that fucking tape that “proves” it’s real I’m moving to a different country

  • BobSF_94117

I think she means yes, America was grabbed by the pussy in the last election. She has a point…

  • Todd20036

I don’t even bother anymore. Once upon a time, these press briefings actually had some relevance.

Hell, even W’s pressers had some use.

  • crewman

this was litigated and certainly answered during the election by the overwhelming support for the president

    A) The President opened this again by making the astounding claim that, contrary to his initial acknowledgement that the tape was real, he now realizes a crime was committed to impersonate him and smear his good name. He made that claim himself, so this is absolutely back on the table and needs answers.

    B) Losing the popular vote in an election won only through criminal intervention by an enemy state might be what passes for “overwhelming support” to the GOP these days, but most Americans would not accept this.

    • Stephen Elliot Phillips

Losing by 3.2 million votes is a mandate in republicon land

      • RoverSerton

I’m no mathmajician but it was 2.8 million. I think you might be using Tom Lerhers “new math”.

  • Ragnar Lothbrok

    How does 30some % = ” the American People ” ?

    • Cuberly Deux

It doesn’t, it just represents his target audience. Nobody else exists in DonnieLand.

    • clay

Same way that racist asshole on here the other day was claiming Turmp won 98% of the “real” Americans’ vote. First you discount everyone not pure white male, reduce for school attendance, divide by religion . . .

      • agcons

“I don’t care what teacher says

      • Steverino

Sounds like a page from the GOP voter suppression manifesto.

  • Rex

The fact that some people ignored the fact that Trump is an evil, lying perv and voted for him is not something to brag about.

    • sword

And Alabama is just about ready to continue this tradition of voting for the worst of the worst.

  • j.martindale

If by “overwhelming support” you mean he lost the popular vote by three million. (A spokesperson who has no grasp of the meaning of words.)

    • Steverino

“Overwhelming support” from the “real” ‘merkins.

      • Harley

        “Overwhelming support” from the deplorables.

    The gaslighting of a Nation

    • Steverino

Good idea for a movie title after this regime is done, sort of a 21st Century bookend to “The Birth of a Nation.” And with the same elements of racism and the Klan.

      • JerryRich

The Birth of a Nation (1915) was the first movie ever shown at the White House, proudly presented by President Woodrow Wilson, who went on to re-introduce segregation and outright racism to Washington D.C.

        • Steverino

          Indeed.

  • Gustav2

OT: On another site they are suggesting calling POTUS a “Kraut” to insult him after the Pocahontas nonsense.

I tried to explain German Americans laugh that one off and have since ‘Hogan Heros.’ Even having a French American boss call me “Bosch” was a joke decades ago. I laughed and so did she when I called her a “Frog”

    • gaycuckhubby

Yeah, i’m of German heritage… Kraut is just funny to me

      • Gustav2

I do make the best Sweet Kraut Salad, a family recipe.

        • Cuberly Deux

How are you on kraut burgers….I LOVE kraut burgers.

          • Gustav2

            Never had one.

          • Cuberly Deux

Oooooo, They’re wonderful. Sort of an east coast german immigrant speciality.

          • PickyPecker

I love a good kraut. That sounds great.

LOL, I share these with hubs…we have a good chuckle, thank you!

          • Cuberly Deux

They’re maybe a little labor intensive but they’re wonderful.

This is the recipe I use as a template, I substitute drained non-pasturized sauerkraut for about 1/4 of the cabbage. I guess that’d be about a cup to a cup and a half.

Also, when I’ve had them back east I’ve noticed they tend to use a fair amt of black pepper, which I love, so I use a hefty amt. Do this to your taste of course. Maybe throw in one more garlic clove…lol…

          • Joe in PA

Oh FFS, what has this blog become…a recipe sharing device? Can we get back to what it is supposed to be about: dirty talk and nekkid men? 🙂

          • Cuberly Deux

            lol…well, I like schtupping and I like food so…..lol….

          • Joe in PA

Sounds disgusting…I suppose you are one of those cole slaw on bar-b-que? Yuck. 🙂

          • Cuberly Deux

Gasp! Kraut burgers are wonderful. Comfort food with a capital C.

I make my own and dare I say, they’re pretty darn awesome.

          • Joe in PA

Well, I will defer judgement. 🙂

          • Cuberly Deux

lol…served with a little brown gravy…mmmmm…..or just eaten as is.

          • But not the mayo type, only the vinegar sort.

106 % German here and I barf at the sight and sound of sauerkraut

Country style boneless spare ribs, potatos, Saur Kraut and brown sugar in pressure cooker. Love it.

      • Steverino

        Same here.

    • Treant

Kraut is not an insult. Actually, I hate sauerkraut, but I’m a full blood German. It’s not even funny, it’s just…lame and sad.

Frog, Kraut, and most of the others are, at best, weak.

      • Joe in PA

So what do you eat on New Year’s day? You have to have pork-n-kraut if you live in PA. 🙂

        • Treant

Pork sans kraut. 🙂 I really detest it. I hate the texture. I hate the taste. I hate the acid stomach afterward.

          • Joe in PA

            So…not a fan, huh?

            🙂

          • Treant

Most definitely not. It resembles and has the texture of octopus.

          • Ohhh! I love octopus!! And squid….yummmm.

        • djcoastermark

Or grew up in Ohio, or Chicago.

        • When I was a kid, we always used to have black eyed peas, corned beef with potatoes, carrots and cabbage and corn bread. We would hide a dime in the peas and would stir the bowl before putting it on our plate. If you got the dime, you were supposed to have good luck all year! We also lit a bayberry candle at full sun down, and if it lasted until the stroke of midnight that was supposed to give the household good luck.

          • Joe in PA

Cool story (and traditions). Black-eyed peas are a southern thing…I learned about them when I lived in TX. Now I love them and we have both BEPeas and pork-n-kraut. 🙂 Hey, can’t hurt.

      • Gustav2

You need to drain and rinse the Kraut, add minced celery and minced green pepper and dress in sugar and light vegetable oil mixture.

        • Treant

I’ll still know it’s there. Waiting. Watching. Lurking.

          • Gustav2

            LOL

        • agcons

Sauerkraut salad, one of my favourites. I use olive oil and less sugar than most recipes, but on a hot summer day it’s especially delicious.

          • Gustav2

We lightened the amount of oil and sugar from the original recipe.

      • Ragnar Lothbrok

Sauerkraut took root mostly in Central and Eastern European cuisines, but also in other countries including the Netherlands, where it is known as zuurkool, and France, where the name became choucroute. The English name is borrowed from German where it means literally “sour herb” or “sour cabbage”.

        It’s Gross!!

        • Gustav2

Straight out of the can is an abomination!

          • Stogiebear

Jebus! You got to at least throw it in the microwave and warm it up.

          • Gustav2

            With caraway seeds.

          • Outlaw Woman

Yes, warm it up in the microwave!
Especially in the small breakroom at work, and with some leftover catfish too!

          • Joe in PA

            You. Are. Evil. 🙂

          • Stogiebear

I regret that I have but one upvote to give to my country or that comment!

          • djcoastermark

Never from a can, yuck. I always use the refrigerated kind. Much crisper and no can taste.

        • Treant

I did not know that, thanks!

And yep, it’s absolutely disgusting. If I want slimy, I’ll blow a frog. A literal frog, not a Frenchman, although I’ve certainly done that.

        • clay

        • Gustav2

Our Jewish Eastern European friends love our Sweet Kraut Salad. The older Boomers all say it tastes like something their mothers used to make before they completely Americanized.

        • Opinion Sousaphones

I make it from cabbage, when cabbage is in season, and from bok choy when it is too overgrown for cooking. I like it… cold. It helps with digestion, if you eat it fresh, it contains useful microorganisms… and kimchee, as mentioned below, is a very fine variation on it. Of course, it really is food for poor people, so there are better things to eat if you have the money, such as fresh fruit and fresh vegetables. However, supermarkets have been deteriorating, most of them, anyways. The fruit they offer is just pretty but tasteless, and the fresh veg are not much better.

          • Opinion Sousaphones

… still eating sauerkraut from late last summer. I expect we will be eating it for another 6 weeks.

        • BearEyes

Love fried sauerkraut with onions and caraway with some garlic, red pepper, and sliced kielbasa.

        • Nah, ’tis delicious!

          • Ragnar Lothbrok

            Is not!

          • I suppose we will just have to agree to disagree what we consider edible and delicious?

I’m not understanding this whole fuckin’ thing.

Is the predator saying that the voice on the tape isn’t his? If that’s what he’s saying, it’ll be easy enough for experts to compare the voice on the tape with his current voice and tell the world whether they match or not.

Or is the predator claiming the words in the tape have been taken out of context? He’s already claimed it was just “locker room banter.” That lie is an old one.

    Which is it?

Litigate this, Trump got 100% of the deplorable vote. Hillary got the majority of the votes. What a country where deplorable people have more [power than good citizens.

  • ‘Overwhelming support’ = 3 million fewer votes and an EC win decided by less than 80k voters in three states…all of which were directly targeted by hackers & propaganda.

Fairy tales, literature, myths, et cetera… can be a great help when dealing with the complexities and ambiguities of life. Unfortunately, people do not seem to able to deal with myth as myth and try to make it literal truth, and so we have people insisting on nonsense such as the literal interpretation of an inerrant bible. As a set of myths, the bible is not entirely a nightmare, just mostly a nightmare, and so we have a culture that is mostly a nightmare. We really need a better set of myths that we never forget are actually just myths… not sure which set of myths I would propose, as even fairy tales sometimes propose some fairly gruesome values. However, recognizing them as myths, we can put the gruesome to one side and not feel compelled to live them.
