Sean Hannity Flakes On Roy Moore Ultimatum [VIDEO]

After a provocative call Tuesday night for Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore to address looming allegations of sexual assault of minors or drop out of the December race, Fox News host Sean Hannity backed off the ultimatum.

Instead, he ended his Wednesday show by reading a letter to him from Moore and with a call to Alabama voters to make their own “informed decision” at the polls.

Wednesday evening’s show began under a chryon, “Day of reckoning for the Clintons.” Hannity spent much of the show focused on past scandals involving former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

  • AmeriCanadian

It was the “Dear Sean” that got to him. Nobody’s called him that in ages.

  • Spudman

  • Butch

You may also be surprised to learn that water is wet.

  • Peter

Why sure, let’s concentrate on the Clinton’s, after all, there isn’t anything else going on worthy of discussion.

  • Tawreos

He wouldn’t want to get rusty at moving the goal posts, now would he.

  • Tomcat

It must be traumatic for Hannity to try and please both sponsors and trump’s base.
I am sure he will survive but will just be another right wing internet blog by this time next year.

  • Dutchlander

Funny how he nearly said ‘president’ instead of ‘predators’…

He does know that’s the same thing, right?

  • TrueWords
    • Butch

Read Charles P. Pierce’s history of Hannity in the book Idiot America; he’s worse than that.

    • Todd20036

Hannity hates gays more than he hates straight pedophiles.
And he’s a Nazi, which excuses all egregious behavior on the RWNJ’s side.
I had a feeling he’d eventually get over Moore’s abominable acts.

      • DN

I’m too lazy to dredge up the links, but the shit he said about gays on his college radio show is vile.

  • Smokey

Will there be a point in my lifetime that fake Clinton scandals will no longer be a GOP talking point?

    • Tawreos

When they are both dead, maybe

      • Smokey

And I wonder if even then? We at least let Harding and Hoover rest In peace.

      • liondon#iamnotatraitor

        There’s always Chelsea.

    • Bambino

Don’t hold your breath. Many fairy tales turned into instant classic and get elevated to become sacred texts. Look no further than the bible.

  • Anastasia Beaverhousen

Roy Moore abuses children, but what about the Clintons?

    • Butch

I made the mistake of watching Chuck Todd on MTV weekly last night, and one of his conservative guests (I think her name is Danielle Pletka) actually brought up the Clintons as a defense for Ray Moore. I turned it off after that.

      • Guest

Yeah, Chuck Toad is an insufferable enabler. Why is there no one with the balls to shut this shit down as soon as it leaves their mouths?

        • Butch

That’s why I like Joy Reid!

      • Bambino

It’s crazy to see so many who lost their moral compass when confronted. They think by bringing another example should justify the pedo rapist history and deem him worthy to take up a position in the government.

      • whollyfool

In John Oliver’s latest show he calls that “whataboutism”

        • juanjo54

In fancy terms, it is called a tu quoque argument. It is a classic logical fallacy

    • Jeffg166

      And those pizzas.

    • Beth Sanders

My daughter told me that since I think mr. clinton is a rapper then mr. moore is a rapper too. I do not support him but glad i do not live in alabama for the election. Margy is sitting out.

      • The_Wretched

        false equivalency and a whatabouterism.

        • Beth Sanders

          yes i like there burgers

    • Thorn Spike

I’m sure they feel abused by him as well.

    • xzargo

Haven’t you heard about Comet Pizza?

    • David Walker

Let’s see. They started CHIP, which the banana republicans let die because of its clear abuse of children. Their Foundation was/is instrumental in making HIV/AIDS drugs available to all, clearly a violation of god’s intent. They have made it possible for every school district to have a supply of Narcan/Naloxone on hand when an OD happens, rather than use the Foundation as their own private personal funder. Yeah, I’d say there’s a lot to look into and maybe even emulate. Maybe if they changed its name…

    • juanjo54
  • Bambino

Another dim bulb even gifted with the largest pair of oars still can’t back paddle to save his life.

  • GayOldLady

Sean basically defends Moore, then his advertisers flee and now he’s trying to moderate. Like Moore you’re on your way out Sean, book it!

  • sadoldguy

What, no mention of Whitewater or Travelgate? sean, you’re slipping in your old age.

  • Tomcat

If it were possible these people would investigate Hillary’s birth to be sure she was born to humans.

  • Tomcat

So NOW the Washington Post is liberal?

  • Frostbite

Why won’t somebody think of the children???

  • Yalma Cuder-Zicci

The power that Hannity has and wields makes me ill. “You will respond to me within 24 hours. You must satisfy me….or else”. And of course the politicians jump through is hoops.

  • Gigi

The Clintons have been under investigation for decades. If the repugs couldn’t find anything to pin on them that would send the Clintons to prison in all that time they’re either the worst investigators in the world (would could very well be the case), or there’s no there there.

  • Luther Kreiger

Slightly corrected version of Roy’s letter:
“For nearly 40 years of public ‘service’ I’ve been kept safe from scrutiny thanks to my peers and position of power in one of the most back-assward states of pure white male privilege. Now that I’m receiving national attention every woman I tried to abuse in the past feels like it’s safe to come forward and it’s just SO NOT FAIR! I got to creepily try to date teenagers fair and square and there’s no takesie backsies!”

  • WitlessProtection

So they have a problem with pointing out that Moore is a child molester, but the FBI threatening to reopen the email scandal two weeks before the election is fine? I am so sick of this hypocritical bullshit on BOTH sides.

  • liondon#iamnotatraitor

Dearest Sean, The front line is fraught with dangers. The Yankees are closing in on me. They are relentless is their persuit of me….how old are your daughters again?

  • Pizza009

Sending emails is literally worse than having sex with a child to these people.

  • AtticusP
  • skyweaver

Hey, Sean, I know you’ll continue crying and pointing on the doll where the bad senator lady touched you, but she isn’t actually in power anymore and neither is her husband

  • gaycuckhubby

IF this happens, how do we feel about it?*

    *I’m not in favor

    • Todd20036

      Makes Trump look worse.
Full disclosure, if the government shuts down, I’m still working – the PBGC isn’t funded with taxpayer money

    • The_Wretched

I guess the republicans want to see just how big a dem wave election they can get.

  • Gerry Fisher

“And the lifetime achievement award for Being a Scapegoat goes to…THE CLINTONS!” [applause]

Is there a record somewhere for “placed under the most investigations” or “accused more often than anyone else”? If so, the Clintons should be the record holders.

  • DesertSun59

Fox, Russian bots and the GOP continue to litigate the Clintons as if they were running the show. It’s very amusing.

  • kareemachan

Fucked News just doesn’t get it. They are shooting themselves in the foot, and I, for one, say GOOD.

    • Todd20036

Not with their audience, they’re not

  • …aaaaaand it’s time for more sponsors to depart that stinking corpse.

    • They should have jumped that floating piece of network, not just this craven minion for the GOP.

  • Kelly Lape

So Roy Moore says “… I am suffering the same treatment other Republicans have had to endure… … A month prior to the general election… … liberal media in a desperate attempt to smear”

Funny I don’t remember the “liberal media” ever accusing another Republican of being a Pedophile. No you, Judge Moore, are being accused of being a child molester because according to eight (and counting) women you ARE a child molester.

  • Today’s thoughts that makes me go hmmm…Are the Clinton’s indirectly responsible for todays GOP? How much of the average GOP voter’s views are linked to hatred of them? Had Papa Biden ran, would he be sitting in the White House now instead of the bloated orange menace?

    • Friday’s_cat

The answer is yes. Back to 1993 after the inauguration Democratic legal experts advised President Clinton to reopen Iran-Contra even though all the bad actors were pardoned. Since they were pardoned they couldn’t plead the fifth when questioned and the whole sordid affair would have been exposed.

Bill nixed the idea figuring an olive branch would compel republicans to work passing his agenda little realizing they would back stab him with Whitewater 3 years later.

Fast forward to 2007 when freshly minted Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, spit in the eyes of the volunteers that gave her a majority with, “Impeachment is off the table” losing another chance to expose republican maleficence. Apparently she forgot how republicans thanked Bill.

Both those actions paved the road to the hell of Trump and a republican majority in both chambers. Nancy, ever the fool, has gone on record opposing the four Democrats bringing impeachment charges against Trump. How long is she going to keep her powder dry?

      • I’m beginning to think Pelosi is a submarine GOP’er.

      • Thank you for all of this back story! All of this is new info to me.

    • Kelly Lape

I disagree with your premise. If it wasn’t the Clintons then someone else would have been the leader of the Democratic Party. The rise of Clinton hatred coincided with the removal of the Fairness Doctrine. The Reich needed a boogieman and the Clinton’s were used by the Reich the same way the Reich uses anything and everything for power and money.

      • It isn’t a premise, but an honest question to anyone who wanted to weigh in. I was curious as to how much of the hatred of the GOP towards the Clinton’s was due to them, or just to them being DNC.

  • Kevin Andrews

Birds of a Feather flock together.
Who honestly cares about what this Tokyo Rove chief propagandist for Murdoch and his 1% mental illness has to say on any topic?
This illness, that is the twice fired “Judge” Moore and this sickening Tokyo Rove bring to AmeriKKKa of their Alabama-inbred vision, will NEVER become reality.
Look long and hard at the standards of these liars, the 1% and the soulless Corporate Super-Person as spewed from this pure propaganda for the GOTP that is owned by the Koch Brothers and sick Mercers.
The illness of Fascism runs deep in these mentally ill; these disgusting liars and traitors who have no grasp of the Constitution or the personal responsibility that comes with American Citizenship.
Israeli operatives on Israeli owned and directed propaganda broadcasting with the intent of the destruction of the United States.
    WAKE UP AmeriKKKa.
The TRUTH is not antisemitic but the fake jews who howl it to chill free speech are and they are dual-citizen traitors worthy of deportation to Israel.

  • Kelly Lape

Going into the 2004 election, Dan Rather and a producer were working on the story of George W.’s “career” in the military during the Viet Nam War. All of the research was leading them on the path that W was basically a deserter during this period. It was well into the development of the story that they received a document supporting the story.

Rove et al, were able to call into question the authenticity of the document based on trivial details that they would only know about if they planted the document. It was this “phony” document that discredited an otherwise well researched and supported accusation, and ultimately to the downfall of Dan Rather’s career with CBS.

Today we have a candidate even more flawed than W. We have ONE of several accusers, this ONE with ties to “Judge” Moore in court, producing a supporting document. Now that document is being question by Moore’s legal team because of obvious “flaws” with the evidence. The expectation being that if the Yearbook inscription is “fake” then Roy Moore couldn’t have possibly Harassed the other women either. Should the yearbook turn out to be faked, then Journalist damn well better get to the bottom of the motivations of why it happened. My money is on Moore pulling a Bush.

  • OdieDenCO

give it a rest lumpy! the Clintons are neither running for nor hold office. even your low information viewer will come to that conclusion eventually and then who you going to bash?

  • Gene Perry

Sean Hanny is the best thing to happen for Democrats in years.

  • Friday’s_cat

I thought wouldn’t it be turn-about if people were to video themselves burning Hannity’s books but since they would have to buy them first …

I thought about using them for butt wipes but that would be torture.

  • DN

Yeah well, Sean Hannity also promised to be waterboarded to show that it was just a harmless dunk in some water, and he would donate proceeds to charity.

In response, Keith Olbermann promised to donate $1,000 to a veterans’ charity for every second Hannity could take it. After a couple months of Hannity not bothering, Olbermann wrote a $10,000 to a veterans’ charity because it was obvious Hannity the coward was never going to do it.

    The promise:

    The follow-through:

    • The_Wretched

I’ve seen water boarding in person. Hannity would not last 10 seconds.

  • dagobarbz, fine Italian shoes

He still hasn’t been waterboarded, either. This guy’s mouth writes checks his ass can’t cash.

  • Piernudo15

Did anyone else read today’s Washington Post story about the new Moore accusers? It is creepy AF! One woman said she was a teenager and working at Sears at the time. She said Moore approached her in the store, flirted with her and asked for her phone number. She didnt give it to him. A couple of days later she’s sitting in trig class when someone announces over the school’s intercom that she has a phone call and must report to the office. She goes to the office, picks up the phone and Roy Moore is on the line! “What are you doing?” he asks her.

  • Thorn Spike

This is the waterboarding thing all over again. When is that going to happen, Sean?

  • Steven B

  • Steve Smith

Looking at the situation from a dispassionate point of view, I really don’t think that republicans are treated badly enough. Simply being a supporter of the republicans nowadays should be sufficient grounds for complete social ostracism, public humiliation, endless insults and general derision.

    • Jean-Marc in Canada

      …and waterboarding, don’t forget waterboarding.

  • Jean-Marc in Canada

Wait, you mean Hannity wussed out? Well I’m just beside myself with complete and utter dismay…I may not be able finish this delightful noon cocktail I’m having because of it…HA….as if. Bottoms up bitches! and fuck you Hannity.

  • JCF

Roy is singing this same old hymn (only this time, there’s a little girl on the cross):

  • Ann Kah

Sean, honey, if you dig up past scandals, you’re just messing with ancient history. Today’s scandals are pertinent to the character of the people that we entrust (perhaps that’s not the best word for my feelings about the administration) to run the country and influence the world IN THE PRESENT DAY. You’re a news anchor, supposedly. “News” implies today’s story, not yesterday’s.
