Junior: Vote For The Republican Tomorrow

The Hill reports:

Donald Trump Jr. on Tuesday urged Virginians to get out and vote for Republican candidate Ed Gillespie for governor, mistakenly telling them twice that the election is Wednesday. CNN host Jake Tapper quickly pointed out that Trump Jr. had the wrong day, but a few hours later, the president’s son made the same mistake.

OR, he should have said, “Great advice! Absolutely, vote for the Republican TOMORROW.”

Shhh. Dude. Vote for the Republican tomorrow, it keeps the polls from being too busy. Vote for the Democrat today.

Until his daddy became president, Jr. didn’t realize how many days there are in a week.

    • Lazycrockett

Jr never voted in his life til daddy decided to run. None of this klan seemed interested in policy til 2015.

    • Hue-Man

Week is an artificial creation; a day, a (lunar) month, a year are scientific, although changing. Seconds, hours, weeks, not so much.

Trump Their God can decree a new definition of week. This past year seems like an eternity.

What a shame, if Virginia goes Republican again.

Andrea Mitchell and her lil republican council seems to think the wind is in Gillespie’s favor. 🙁

    • Chucktech

The voters will let us down. Again. Just you watch.

    • jerry

The number who early voted this time is encouraging. But VA is a good example of GOP fuckery: the US House and state legislative districts are gerrymandered within an inch of their life; and holding all state-wide office elections during an odd-numbered year, rather than during an even-numbered year with all the congressional/presidential races seems meant to deter turnout, which always helps Republicans.

      • stuckinthewoods

I think the odd numbered thing started with the VA constitution of 1851 so it probably wasn’t meant to deter turnout. It may work that way but not the primary intent.

        • jerry

Most states, when starting in an odd year, will have short terms until the next even year–if nothing else, it’s cheaper to not have to fund elections in odd years. In many places, municipalities also changed to even years so they can piggyback onto the existing election.

          • stuckinthewoods

It might be hard to get Virginia to change 170 years of precedent for frugality.

          It’s a German advert. Prickneinde = tingling
Frolik? German and Dutch are similar and I know in Amsterdam the LGBT bookshop is called Vrolijk (pronounced like frolic) and our English word shares the same germanic root. That’s Dutch for cheerful, merry, and slang for gay.
Maybe the german phrase means ‘tingly shags frolicking’.

According to the Washington Post, both Virginia Democrats and Republicans have nicknamed Marshall, the incumbent, as “Sideshow Bob.” Among other outrages, he claims that God punishes women who have abortions by giving them disabled children in subsequent pregnancies. And of course, he pushed a “bathroom bill,” so a defeat at the hands of a trans woman would be karmically sweet.

      • dagobarbz, fine Italian shoes

I wish these Christians would make up their damn minds. Are disabled children a punishment, or a gift?

        • craigbear

In their minds you’re supposed to consider it a gift when God punishes you.

  • Ginger Snap

I voted in our city elections today Manchester NH and not a single Republican box was filled in. I also voted NO to allow Jeno gambling in my city to help fund pre-school I hope it doesn’t pass I cannot stand schools getting funds from gambling.

    • Treant

Personally, I never much cared about gambling revenue one way or the the other–I’m not going to go because I can do math–but our city does allow it. We actually make far less than one might think due to all the bribery and corruption.

    • JackFknTwist

If a society cannot fund its schools through general taxation then that society has problems of priorities.

It’s bad enough economically for the young generation but f uckng over their education is an abomination.

      • killreligion

They could but using property tax is regressive, gambling helps but better to tax fairly. Use/citizen taxes. Ownership taxation is regressive.

      • Ginger Snap

I agree with you 100% I have no children and have no problem paying taxes to support education.

        • JackFknTwist

And it’s the Trump/turd morons who boast of not paying any taxes that drive s me insane. They have no concept of their duties to society….and they don’t give a s hit about the very fabric of a future cohesive society built on education, followed by opportunity and advancement in tech and economic development.

They don’t care about people’s future……..it’s all about -“Look how great I am, i can do the best deals. Pay taxes? , do you think I.m a fool ?”

    • another_steve

Along with prostitution and alcohol, gambling is among the most lucrative industries in the history of the world.

I think it’s a good thing when gambling-related revenue is funneled into causes meant to benefit the public good.
