Russian Lawyer: Junior Hinted At End To Sanctions If Daddy Won, Asked For Written Dirt On Hillary Clinton

Bloomberg reports:

A Russian lawyer who met with President Donald Trump’s oldest son last year says he indicated that a law targeting Russia could be re-examined if his father won the election and asked her for written evidence that illegal proceeds went to Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

The lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, said in a two-and-a-half-hour interview in Moscow that she would tell these and other things to the Senate Judiciary Committee on condition that her answers be made public, something it hasn’t agreed to.

She has received scores of questions from the committee, which is investigating possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign. Veselnitskaya said she’s also ready — if asked — to testify to Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

  • fuow

Wow, just like wow. But, heh – her Emails!

  • tbj5

    Let’s be honest.

If you were the Kremlin agent like her trying to set up quid pro quo, you wouldn’t just go in with dirt on Hillary as bait.

You’d go in with a list of blackmail you have against Trump, his spawn, Manafort, etc. Dirt you will dump if they don’t start playing by their rules.

At this point, Trump had already won the nomination, but his campaign coffers were bare. By the end of June, however, the campaign had gotten over $50 million.

A deal was struck in June. And not just for Hillary emails.

    • Lazycrockett

The blackmailing is going on now.

      • tbj5

It never stopped. Russia just kept upping the ante as they got further along.

They could convince Trump to do anything once he won the nomination. The financial crimes alone would have gotten him socially and legally destroyed if they got revealed while running for POTUS.

I’m sure he thought he’d be safe once he lost. He could do his Trump TV thing and make tons of money. But they barely stole a win, so the blackmail just got even worse.

They attempted to do a quickie coup and get the sanctions removed, but that failed. Trump is panicking and desperate. His last play is going to be pardons, and he’s too stupid to know if that will actually work

    • Halou

The friend of Don Jr who set up the meeting rapidly fell out of favour afterwards, implying, as you say, that the Russians presented him the dirt they had on Donald instead.
      A very carrot-and-stick approach.

  • Lazycrockett

Its so apparent that Russia hoodwinked this whole Klan.

Do you think Daddy Putin is doing this on purpose to bring tRump down? It is “interesting” to me that so much is coming from Russia linking the tRump family to all of this. It is not like Russia needs to be on our good side, does it?

    • Kelly Lape

Google Trump’s comments on foreign countries. Find one that strengthens our relationship with our allies. Blackmail Trump to weaken our relations, then weaken us by embroidering us in a Constitutional crisis. Yeah, it’s a plan and it’s working.

    • The_Wretched

Putin’s goal is disruption of the West. He wants as many factions as possible going at it as much as possible. Sadly, our politics are ripe for this type of effort. Donny being in office is disruptive, dragging out the removal (or nudging it along if it slows) is disruptive. The best for the US fix is Donny the Unfit gone and quickly with overwhelming evidence of personal crimes against the nation. That’s the only outcome Putin is avoiding.

      • Chucktech

The best for the US fix is Donny the Unfit gone and quickly with overwhelming evidence of personal crimes against the nation.

        Welp… Good luck with that…

    • AlternativeQuacks

I’ve been wondering about that. I have four different theories:

      1) Putin’s real goal was just to sow discord and chaos in the West. Mission accomplished (also with Brexit). He has no further use for Trump. I think this is the most likely theory.

      2) A corollary of Theory #1 is that Russia gets to flex its cybermuscles and show the world how powerful it is that it can disrupt elections in western countries. The more damaging info that comes out in the investigation, the more powerful Russia looks to the world.

      3) Putin’s real goal was to stop Hillary, not necessarily to prop up Trump. It has been revealed that the Russian-bought ads on Facebook and Twitter were pro-Trump, pro-Stein and pro-Bernie, in other words, “anybody but Clinton.” Now that Clinton lost, he doesn’t really care who else is prez.

      4) Putin has decided that Trump is too chaotic and more trouble than he’s worth, and he would just as soon have somebody smarter, more stable and more predictable in the WH. So it’s time to dump the dirt.

Of course, it’s possible that all four of those theories could be true – they aren’t mutually exclusive.

      • Chucktech

Interesting theories, but my take would be that:

        1) Putin has no further use for Trump since it’s now clear that sanctions ain’t going nowhere.

        2) I’m not sure the Russians would want to tip their cyber hand in such a flaunting way.

        3) Putin’s goal was to stop Hillary AND prop up Trump, hoping for movement on the half trillion $ Exxon deal.

        4) Putin must have known what a moronic mental defective Trump was. Trump telegraphed as much for a year and a half before the election.

      • -M-

        Two & Four.

“We’ve been reporting this shouldn’t happen in a church,” Earhardt said during an interview with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R). “But I was downstairs talking with some people that work here that we all talk about our faith and we share the same beliefs. We were saying there’s no other place we would want to go other than church.”

Abbott was yelling at Gayle King on CBS this morning. He is an embarrassment.

Anything to distract from the fact that a man who assaulted his wife and child shouldn’t have a gun. There’s so much noise on ‘yeah a neighbor took shots at the gun man’. That’s a distraction too. No gun would mean no shots. Even if he was distracted, it looks like he shot pretty much everyone in the church.

      • William

Even if Kelley was on the ‘Do Not Buy’ list, he could have bought guns at a gun show. But the NRA has told us that closing the gun show loophole is Communism.

By demanding a public hearing she is actually demanding either that no classified or sensitive aspects of the case be addressed, or that the committee make it clear to the Trump regime and to Moscow just how far their (and Mueller’s) investigations are.
Something tells me the Russian hacking skills have taken a rather nasty hit now that everybody knows what the game is, they have resorted to demanding their ‘enemy’ tell the Kremlin everything they know. Pathetic.
