Senate Group Mocks Traffic Plunge At “Failing Breitbart”

Filed under infighting is funny:

A group linked to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) echoed President Trump’s tweeting style Friday to slam the Stephen Bannon-led site Breitbart News for falling traffic numbers.

“Failing @BreitbartNews: traffic plummets 20% this year, desperate for attention! SAD!” the group wrote on Twitter to its 472 followers from an account called Senate Ldshp Fund.

McConnell foes quickly responded to the tweet, including Bannon political adviser Andrew Surabian and Doug Stafford, Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-Ky.) chief adviser. “I mean, come on – are you really allowed to make fun of something’s reach from a social account with 400 followers??” asked Stafford.

          • FAEN

            Good point.

          • another_steve

More than not, there’s little or no correlation between the inside and the outside. We’ve all known attractive guys who were evil inside (Jared Kushner, for example).

With McConnell however, there’s a 100 percent correlation.

        • another_steve

I feel, retroactively, for his mother. Imagine when Mitch was one year old and all the mothers gathered at the local park to show off their babies.

Such a sadness, for Mrs. McConnell.

          • FAEN
          • another_steve

Not to play the conspiracy theorist… but that’s not the real Mitch McConnell. The real Mitch McConnell – the boy we see in that picture – was abducted at age two by aliens and substituted with the turtle man we see today.

The aliens were looking through the Encyclopedia of Earth Life Forms (1940 Edition) and decided that a man/turtle combo would be nice.

(I heard this on Fox News btw.)

    • vorpal 😼

Agreed. I can’t even look at it anymore. It’s one step away from Buzzfeed now with its sensationalist clickbait headlines, and I hate the Facebook commenting: I don’t want everyone on my Facebook friends list notified of my comments made on an article, as I have coworkers and family on there.

      • Nowhereman

Facebook is into every single part of your life if you are on it. I’m glad I never signed up. I’m not a joiner anyway, and Facebook is an awfully big group.

    • Nowhereman

That’s why I left, too. Well, that and the side boobs. I am SO not into side boobs. As for Facebook–I am so glad that my instincts kept me away from them. Disqus is as far as I go, and I usually only comment on two sites. A lot of them, even if the news is quality, the comment sections aren’t moderated very well, and they are cesspools. I don’t need the adrenaline rush of being piled on by a bunch of neonazis or Russian bots.

    OT: 25 years ago today:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_R._Schindler_Jr.

Allen R. Schindler Jr. (December 13, 1969 – October 27, 1992) was an American Radioman Petty Officer Third Class in the United States Navy who was murdered for being gay. He was killed in a public toilet in Sasebo, Nagasaki, Japan, by Terry M. Helvey, who acted with the aid of an accomplice, Charles Vins, in what Esquire called a “brutal murder”. The case became synonymous with the debate concerning GBT members of the military that had been brewing in the United States culminating in the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” bill.
