Sen. Marco Rubio: I Didn’t Pay For The Trump-Russia Dossier, But I Would Have Used It If I Had [VIDEO]

The Daily Caller reports:

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio denied Thursday that he was the anonymous Republican who paid Fusion GPS for opposition research on Donald Trump during the presidential primary race.

Reporting has revealed that a GOP donor was paying Fusion GPS for opposition research before the firm ended up contracting with former British agent Christopher Steele and producing the Trump dossier. President Trump suggested Wednesday that he knows who that GOP donor is.

“It wasn’t and I’ll tell you why — I was running for president and I was trying to win,” Rubio explained. “If I had anything against Donald Trump that was relevant and credible and politically damaging I would have used it. I didn’t have it.”

  • bkmn

    Liddle Marco is so tough!!!!!

Anyway, word on the street is that the Bush clan initiated the dossier.

    • clay

Yes, but Bush earlier denied it.
There are still others– Cruz, Kasich, Lindseybelle . . .

      • The_Wretched

It was the bushes. They had the money and relevant contacts. This post hoc denial is so that they aren’t tarred with the follow on funding by Clinton / DNC and for getting so much dirt on Trump.

        • clay

Okay, but how does one get tarred and feathered for getting too much dirt on Turmp? He throws it, himself?

          • The_Wretched

See in another comment to you that’s more recent.

        • Lazycrockett

          Remember Poppy ran the CIA.

        • boatboy_srq

          #NotPatriotic

          Not just for the tRumpets.

  • boatboy_srq

Dry Marco should certainly have used SOMETHING.

  • TrueWords
  • Tawreos

Trump probably paid for it to see what anyone could find on him.

    • Miji

Ha ha, you said Trump paid for something.

  • TrueWords
  • Treant

That…is actually a fairly believable statement.

I feel sick. I believe something that came out of Marco Rubio’s mouth.

    Hold me.

    • Todd Allis

      Me too. *hugs*

      • Treant

Thank you. Do you happen to have some Pepto?

        • netxtown

no…but i got something kind of pink-ish…and you will feel soooooooo much better… 🙂

of course, I am referring to a pink cadillac, crushed velvet seats….

          (ya’ll got such dirty minds…)

        • Todd Allis

Sadly I am out, but there’s a drug store nearby.

    • Gustav2

Careful, he didn’t say his campaign’s lawyers didn’t pay for the beginning of the dossier,

    • JackFknTwist

Who gives a flying f uck who paid for it ?
That issue is diverting us from the veracity of the contents.
Now show me those damn Pee Pee tapes !

      • Chucktech

Fox “News” and their ilk are screaming that deplorables and stoopids should give a fuck, that’s why they’re all excited and uppity about the fact that of course Hillary paid for it (after Republicans discovered the rooskie connection and dropped it).

      • another_steve

I don’t want to see the pee tape. Really, I don’t. Russian hookers urinating on each other?

        I’m fey and delicate.

        Seeing that might kill me.

        • JackFknTwist

          Have courage, my friend !

You will be called upon to make this sacrifice of watching the Pee Pee Tapes as your contribution to saving the Republic.
You will be called upon to gather your wits and link arms against the encroachment of the Trump/turd “business elite”…..against the rise of the dung heaps of the anti-culture, anti-intellectual white trash who have bribed and treasoned and slimed and social-climbed their way to the White House……….but not to any kind of respectability.

          • another_steve

            thinking thinking thinking…

NO, MOMMY! I DON’T WANT TO SEE IT!!!

          • olandp

You would watch if Jared was lying on the bed beneath them…

          • another_steve

Having grown up in Jewish communities, I understand Jews like Jared. Jared would not consent to lying on the bed beneath Russian hookers urinating on one another as an elderly orange gentleman watches nearby.

Such behavior is specifically forbidden in the Book of Leviticus.

It’s in between the prohibition regarding sleeping with just-legal Czech porn twinks and the prohibition regarding the wearing of white during winter.

          • olandp

            I’m just teasing you…

      • Uncle Mark

I’m counting on something far worse than pee pee tapes. The dossier indicated that there were several “unpleasant” recorded events

        • JackFknTwist

Now you have got my filthy porn mind agog with permutations. !

        • Robincho

          I’LL decide what’s unpleasant around here, goddamnit…

    • Circ09

I’m in agreement with others that it was Jeb Bush. But it sounds like Bush and HRC were both had by this Fusion GPS. They might have paid money for the dossier but nobody actually got their hands on it to release any details. Pity.

    • ericxdc

Sorry you’re feeling sick. It’s been going around a lot lately. Here, take two Huckabees and call me in the morning.

      • Karl Dubhe

Oh, dear lord. No. Just no.

    • Danieruw

Make all those bad dreams disapeeeeeeeeear!

    • Robincho

I’ll hold you responsible. And then I’ll hold you responsibly…

  • Rex

So, he’s saying he was “thirsty” for some dirt on Donald.

  • Tomcat

There is NO dirt that is capable of taking Supershitler down.

  • fuzzybits
  • Gustav2

Jeb! did it. It has been rumored for months it was a Bush supporter.

    • PickyPoussin
    • The_Wretched

It’s interesting how that reporting has been forgotten and wiped.

      • Gustav2

The endless BS from the White House is designed to make us forget.

    • clay

Bush was a candidate who couldn’t order opposition research AND was too weak to take it when it was offered?

      • Gustav2

The rumor and some reporting has be out there, but the dossier may have not been complete before he had lost any chance.

        • clay

So, the Bush’s are so self-centered that they didn’t encourage their donor to continue in the interests of the nation?

          • Gustav2

Have you ever met the third generation of Bushes in public service? They were also very anti very early after they quit.

          • boatboy_srq

At what time has a Bush genuinely acted in the interests of the US without placing the interests of the Bush clan first?

      • Lumpy Gaga

Look, all I’m saying is it was a Bush supporter and that set doesn’t even include his Mother.

        • clay

          LOL

        • Gustav2

If she had been a supporter I would suspect her or her friends doing the dirty work. In her time, she had the best Republican political Rolodex in DC and the nation to get shit done. Everyone in the family is afraid of her. lol.

          Just ask them.

      • The_Wretched

I square the circle thusly – One of the features protecting Trump all along is that the schemes and illegalities that Trump is doing are also used by other elites (oligarchs). If Trump get’s whacked for them, they all are in jeopardy. And for most of the campaign, no one took Trump seriously, they thought he’d implode all on his own. The pols all thought (AND STILL DO!!!) that they could just sit back and watch.

Jeb (the Bushes) are / were mindful of damage to the party and wanted to maintain an ‘above it all’ aire. Using the Steele Dossier would have been ‘dirty’.

        • clay

And now it’s too late for Jeb, and for the nation.

        • Lazycrockett

Jeb never seemed like he wanted to be president. Seriously his campaign looked like a burden.

          • The_Wretched

When the two words, “please clap” aptly sum up his entire run, Ayup!

        • olandp

The Bushes have never been “above it all”. Remember that Lee Atwater was Sr’s campaign manager, and Karl Rove was Shrub’s.

          • The_Wretched

I agree but they like to pretend.

      • Not so much that, as the fact he was all but forced out of the race before the primary voting even began.

Nobody really wanted him to run in the 1st place except the establishment boardroom GOPer backers. Still, he was considered the likely frontrunner due to name & money access…therefore Donald’s campaign went after him first. And even that far back, word was that the Russians were trying to help knock down all of Donnie’s opponents.

      • SkokieGuy [ChicagoAdjacentGuy]

He dropped out so early I think maybe enough wasn’t compiled to be useful? And maybe they shopped it to other Republican candidates and then eventually people on HIllary’s side. After all oppo research is a product and when you lose a buyer, you market your products until you find other buyers..

  • The_Wretched

Rubio failed to get opposition research on his primary opponents? He deserved to lose, that’s political malpractice.

    • Friday’s_cat

Given the fact there is so much negative Trump information out there the candidates thought opposition research wasn’t necessary. They didn’t count on the stupidity of the Frankenstein Monsters they created.

  • Friday’s_cat

Too bad the Pee Papers weren’t released before the election although the result would have been same as the Pussy Tapes.

More Ted Cruz’s style…marco still has to worry about the boy bubble/foam parties in florida..if anybody ever measured the circumference of his butt hole the gig would be up.

    • netxtown

and you are unanimous in that?

  • netxtown

uh-oh donnie. the red tide is turning…

      And red tide is toxic.

      Funny thing, that.

“I’m not a real Senator. But I play one on TV.” — Marco la Rubia

  • boobert

This has cruz and kellyanne written all over it !

  • Reports for eons now was that it was Jeb’s campaign.

    • Cuberly Deux

I’m confused. Why is this suddenly being rehashed as new news? What difference does it make who commissioned it? I’ve been seeing right-wingers going nuts claiming it’s part of Hillz’ dirty tricks….that doesn’t even compute. RWNJs implying that dems paid for made-up accusations….bull-pucky.

They see scandal in everything, it’s truly detached from a reality based assessment.

      • Circ09

But it’s not really. It’s them crafting their message to the masses -That the dossier was made up bullshit and all this was part of HRC’s dirty tricks. So, now they have successfully moved the football away from the real nitty gritty that is important – what did Fusion actually have that people were paying for? Where is this mysterious dossier? What is the contents?

        • Cuberly Deux

So basically coordinated obfuscation, sigh….the GOP selling out the country as usual.

          • Circ09

Sure. But why not? The collective “we” always let them get away with it. So they continue to go with what works.

          • JackFknTwist

Steele a British intelligence agent did not make up BS; we used his contacts.
Now let’s talk about the contents of that Dossier —–it confirms collusion between the rump campaign and the Russian explicitly.

          • Circ09

I believe that too. But where is it? If anyone from the campaigns Repub or Dem had their hands on it with proof then it would have been released. All this sounds like is the campaigns paid this Fusion GPS for a whole lot of nothing usable.

          • Cuberly Deux

            Ugh, I loath everything GOP.

        • whollyfool

          Ah, I’ve been wondering…. Thanks.

      • JackFknTwist

The issue of who paid for it, is not the main point.
The important thing is that a British intelligence agent, known and trusted by US Intelligence, produced the Dossier based on his own knowledge, experience and reliable sources.
And the contents of same have been verified to a great extent (as one would expect from British Intelligence).

The contents are substantive and reliable, that’s why the Mueller team flew to London and interviewed Steele.

The dumb Repugs who went to London to discredit Steel got nowhere. Steel had been tipped off about that Nunes inspired piece of buffoonery ! [in my opinion.]

        • Cuberly Deux

I totally agree, it’s the content that matters, and obviously there’s sopme coordination going on within the GOP and Trump Admin to spin this. Which is rather twisted on behalf of the GOP.

          • JackFknTwist

And d ick-head Nunes is leading that campaign, despite having supposedly recused himself.
            What a w anker.

          • Cuberly Deux

I really wonder what kompromat the ruskies have on Nunes. He always acts like a hyper-nervous nutcase when asked about the investigations. He gets irrationally defensive too.

Whatever it is I bet it’s a doozy.

          • popebuck1

I’ll bet they had him wake up next to a dead hooker like the senator in “The Godfather, part 2.”

      • Why is this suddenly being rehashed as new news?

Because Trump wants a distraction from his own corruption, and the media laps it up like the cum-splattered attention whores thy are.

        • Cuberly Deux

          Ha! How vivid….and yep, true.

    • Halou

      Please clap.
