Bill O’Reilly: The Politically-Motivated Revelation Of My $32M Sex Settlement Is A Horror Show For My Family

The Associated Press reports:

Bill O’Reilly says he’s being attacked for political purposes and that it’s been a “horror show” for him and his family. The former Fox News Channel host was interviewed by one-time colleague Glenn Beck on this weekend’s story in The New York Times that Fox paid a $32 million settlement to a former legal analyst who had accused O’Reilly of harassment.

On Beck’s radio show Monday, O’Reilly said that he could not discuss specifics about former analyst Lis Wiehl’s case. He said the Times hates him and is intent upon keeping him out of the marketplace. There was no immediate comment from the newspaper.

Former Fox News Channel anchor Megyn Kelly said Monday she complained to her bosses about Bill O’Reilly’s behavior after she had accused former Fox chief Roger Ailes of sexual harassment, and that the abuse and shaming of women has to stop.

  • OhSoGood

    And?

    • Macbill

      Maybe he regrets his actions?

      • Daveed_WOW

He regrets the money he had to pay and he regrets having to discuss it publicly again. If that’s what you mean.

      • Snarkaholic

Maybe he fears that denying it will infuriate some of his (countless) other victims…to the point where they, too, come forward and end up costing him even more.

      • clay

He only regrets his enemies. . . are still alive.

  • Dreaming Vertebrate

Thirty-two million translates to an absolute horror show of unwanted gropings and nasty, full-frontal exposures of “little Billo”. GROSS!!

Bill O’Reilly Suggests NY Times Report on Eric Bolling’s Alleged Harassment Led to Son’s Death

“I urge you to think about what you put in your newspaper. Eric Bolling’s son is dead. He’s dead because of allegations made — in my opinion and I know this to be true — against Mr. Bolling.” When asked by the host Barbaro to explain what O’Reilly meant by this, Schmidt translated that O’Reilly is suggesting that the Times report led to the death of Bolling’s son.

“Although the deal has not been previously made public, the network’s parent company, 21st Century Fox, acknowledges that it was aware of the woman’s complaints about Mr. O’Reilly. They included allegations of repeated harassment, a nonconsensual sexual relationship and the sending of gay pornography and other sexually explicit material to her, according to the people briefed on the
    matter.”

That is called RAPE, so STFU Bill.

You’re being attacked for being hypocritical Bill. Excoriating Bill Clinton, Hillary CLinton, even Barack Obama… while molesting women (none of the people you attacked did anything non consensual if at all) but you, Mr. High and Mighty Morals, were so egregious, you had to pay multiple millions after being fired even though you still had decent ratings.
But please, go on about you being the victim. We’d love to hear you bitch about it

  • jm2

the most ‘telling’ thing is that he doesn’t deny it!

  • Kelly Lape

I don’t understand. Why would Bill’s family be upset that he gave 32 Million of the family’s assets to a random woman to buy her silence about his behavior?

Oh because it’s public knowledge. Their upset not with him, but with the public image of him. I get it now.

In an affidavit acquired by Jezebel, O’Reilly’s ex-wife, Maureen McPhilmy, claimed she found the then-Fox News Channel anchor having phone sex in their bedroom in December 2009.

No, Bill, this is not politically motivated. This is motivated by a lot of righteous anger. Anger from women who are mad as hell and who are not going to take it anymore. Bill, I’d like to educate you on something you’ve apparently never heard of – it’s called shame.

A normal person in your situation would be filled with so much shame that they wouldn’t think of doing anything to call attention to themselves, or their back story. Perhaps, do the world a favor and shut the fuck up. And, you’re a Fucken Nazi.

I don’t see the problem with attacking him for political purposes. He’s a political commentator and “thought leader.” And FOX News is a political mouthpiece of the Right.

The greatest horror show visited on Bill’s family is Bill, himself.

[Edit] Reporting the truth is not “attacking.”

  • I do have sympathy for O’Reilly’s family. It truly isn’t their fault he’s an abusive, womanizing, morally extinct shitshow. Yet, simply because they are related, they will continue to be forced to deal with the constant questioning, assumptions, and accusations of others.

I can just imagine what the school’s Bring Your Dad To Work day would be like.

I feel so BAD for Bill O’Reilly. Can you imagine the guilt and shame he must feel, having to explain to his family how someone, without his permission and against his will, helped themselves to 32 million of his dollars? Total strangers have rendered him helpless as they invade his bank account and take pleasure in his assets. To have to tell your wife and kids ” I was helpless! There was nothing I could do!” strikes at the very soul. I hope Bill gets the therapy he needs.

O’Reilly did something so terrible that he paid his victim $32 million to settle the case but it’s the media’s fault, not his, that it’s now a “horror show” for his family. Absolving oneself of any and all personal responsibly is truly a conservative value.

    • Halou

Ant that is just the out of court settlement. Odds are if it went to trial he would have had to pay significantly more.
