Heavy reports:
President Donald Trump on Monday accused former presidents, including Barack Obama, of not contacting the families of fallen soldiers after their deaths.
The comments came from the Rose Garden of the White House alongside Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Trump was speaking about the deaths of three Green Berets in Niger when he made the remarks.
“The toughest calls I have to make are the calls where this happens, soldiers are killed,” Trump said. “It’s a very difficult thing. Now, it gets to a point where you make four or five of them in one day, it’s a very, very tough day.”
Trump claimed he’s penned letters to the families of the soldiers and they would be going out later that day or the next day.
In a jaw-dropping lie, Trump falsely said Obama didn’t call the families of dead soldiers.

This is an outrageous and disrespectful lie even by Trump standards. Also: Obama never attacked a Gold Star family. https://t.co/JgzTUIzWIa
