Junior’s Infomercial For Silencers Resurfaces [VIDEO]

Carbonated reports:

After a lone white man killed at least 59 people and injured more than 500 at a concert in Las Vegas, the gun control debate became increasingly relevant. Logic would suggest that means tighter gun controls, however, the Republicans have other plans. Currently, they are pushing a bill that contains a provision to legalize gun silencers — a device that can make it harder for police officers to figure out where a shooter is and make it harder for victims to escape.

It’s not surprising the GOP is pushing for laxer gun laws considering President Donald Trump and his family openly advocate for NRA and other gun lobbies. MSNBC’s Chuck Todd dug out a video from last year, where one of Trump’s family members marketed gun silencers. It was none other than Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., who appeared in the gun industry’s “marketing campaigns aimed at kids.”

  • bkmn

Where the hell are the police unions on the issues of silencers? Have they all been bought off by the NRA? Silencers makes it harder to tell what direction shots are coming from, which makes the job of police much harder during an active shooter situation.

    • Joe in PA

They are against silencers, but you are right, they don’t seem to be very vocal about it.

      • greenmanTN

Not All Like That, until push comes to shove and they prove they are exactly like that.

      • Karl Dubhe

They know they can use them to lobby for more ‘equipment’ in order to counter the threat posed by the silenced weapons.

They should be far more concerned than they are, but …

        • Bluto

You got it. It supports their Rambo narrative of further militarization.

          • JackFknTwist

I still want to see compulsory drug testing for Cops – especially those involved in discharged weapons incidents.
And especially compulsory steroid testing – half of those muscle bound apes are high on their roid-rages.

          • Robincho

Paul Verlaine and Arthur Rambo were a lovely couple…

        • jerry

But along with the silencers, they’re also trying to legalize armor-piercing bullets. Previously the police were very much
          against this.

          • Karl Dubhe

Yepth, perhaps they dream of being unleashed on a certain group of people after one of their brothers gets shot by one of those rounds.

The world’s gone mad, quite mad. More mad than the usual bad. 🙁

          • cleos_mom

perhaps they dream of being unleashed on a certain group of people after one of their brothers gets shot by one of those rounds.

With a half dozen tanks and a platoon of bagpipe players as a backdrop for dramatic effect.

      • bambinoitaliano

Individually perhaps. The union and the governing body in the mayor offices across the nation might have a different position.

        • cleos_mom

The ‘individually’ part to include “good cops” who righteously look the other way and subsequently play Sgt. Schultz.

    • bambinoitaliano

I would look into the financial relationship between the police institution and NRA.

    • RaygunsGoZap

Silencers also make it impossible to determine which gun fired which bullet. So, fuck convicting anyone using balistic forensics.

      • lymis

Didn’t know that. Do they fuck up ballistics?

        • RaygunsGoZap

Ballistics may be the wrong word. The silencer chamber mars the striations and markings on the bullet from the barrel so that each bullet from the same gun has differing and unique markings on it. 5 bullets from a gun with a silencer look like 5 bullets shot from 5 different guns and not one looks like it was fired from the actual gun it was.

          • KevInPDX

Doesn’t silencers mess with accuracy of handguns too?

    • JackFknTwist

Guns, silencers, right to bear arms……….in all of this I have forgotten who the enemy is supposed to be. Who are you arming yourself against ?

Answer : There is no enemy. It’s all a ruse facilitating repeat atrocities.

      • David Walker

Oh, but there is an enemy. The gummint. President Obama woulda took they gunz if he’d a-had another term…he almost tuk ’em in his secon’ term. So we gotta be armed fer when they come to take ’em. They’ll take mah gun when they pry it from mah cold, dead fingers.
God, guns, and guts make Murka great.
Havin’ as many guns as you want is a god-given Murkan right…as long as yer white. I don’t think that applies to the brown people.

        • thatotherjean

Pogo was right: “We have met the enemy, and he is us.”

    • Adam King

That’s why it’s imperative to kill black people proactively. /s

    • boatboy_srq

Silencers in the hands of civilians justify assault weaponry and APCs for law enforcement.

  • greenmanTN

Don’t they reduce muzzle flare too, another way of determining where shots are coming from?

    • FAEN

That is already possible without a silencer apparently. Just ridiculous.

    • Ragnar Lothbrok

Another bonus is when you shoot the first lion, the others are unaware, then the whole pride can be executed. Yay Fucking Yay !!!

  • marshlc

Those of us looking at the US from the outside can only conclude that the NRA has incriminating video of every member of congress. It’s the only explanation.

    • BearEyes

The NRA feeds them buckets of money too

      • greenmanTN

        30M to Trump alone.

        • Bad Tom

          Apparently worth every penny.

    • lymis

Many of us looking at the US from the inside feel the same.

  • Rex

It’s like a cult with these gun fetish guys.
    20 kids dead.
    House of Rep member shot.
    50+ killed in mass shooting.
More deaths by gun than in war.
Nothing, nothing whatsoever, will convince them that lives are more important than money.

    • Daveed_WOW

There are too many votes at stake. Gun nuts are as critical to republican victory as bible thumpers and bigots. There is no moral arithmetic in play here. Great masses of morons have been mobilized into a cult.

    • bambinoitaliano

The USA spending trillions in military decade after decade busying patrolling the world. Strategically it’s building a safety net to prevent the country from having to defend and fight the war from its own soil. Yet domestically, the politicians continue aiding and abetting a terrorist organization to the path of implosion. Perhaps that’s the Newton’s laws we are witnessing.

    • Talisman

2 reps shot – don’t forget Gabby Giffords.

      • kareemachan

        But she’s a Dem, so…..

    • JustDucky
    • thatotherjean

You forgot FREEDUMB! Freedumb is very important to gun nuts.

    • JCF

Or lives are more important than guns.

  • Tawreos

They want to make it easier for kids to use guns, that makes a lot of fucking sense.

  • Joe in PA

    “It’s a health issue really”

    SMFH.

    • ByronK

“Your honor, while my client did shoot and kill over four dozen people, I believe it’s only reasonable to ask that when you consider his punishment, that you take into account the severe damage to his hearing that he has suffered due to an unconstitutional lack of access to a proper silencer.”

  • JoeMyGod

    Here’s the full infomercial.

    • Joe in PA

Not. A. Chance. That I will watch that smug SOB. Ugh.

      Lock him up!

      • kareemachan

        Jeez, what a fuckwad.

    • Karl Dubhe

      Not really. 🙁

Ooops. I didn’t make enough from selling the things to pay for the fucking hearing aids I’m needing. (of course, Flashback also helped with my hearing issues…)

      • fkevin

Karl, are you a veteran? VA will provide hearing aids regardless if loss of hearing is from service or not since @1997. If you are not in the system, start the application online. Review of the application may take 4-6 months and the other steps will take few months: paperwork, exam. review, paperwork, file, etc. It is not a fast system.

        • Karl Dubhe

I’m Canadian, and am still waiting to hear. 🙂 Same deal with us, but I doubt the gov’t will pay for mine; I’m a bit of a pessimist.

Well, not the bit about getting them whether or not the hearing loss is due to shooting the guns. 🙂 Go navy, go away…

          • fkevin

I can understand. Dad had a similar experience of the US Navy not acknowledging his hearing loss for decades after his service on the battleship Iowa. He says when all the guns fired on one side of the ship, it would move 1 mile across the sea. Most men had no ear protection. Good luck!

          • jmax

While in the Army, my father had a Jeep-mounted 50 mm gun accidentally fire while he was standing right next to the barrel. His right ear began bleeding and he was told by a doctor he would eventually go deaf. Then he spent the next 30-something years working around aircraft. He’s deaf as a post now and his VA-provided hearing aids don’t help much.

          • Steve Teeter

My dad was shipping out to the Pacific during WWII and accidentally was standing too near a gun that was being test fired. One moment, just standing there, the next, cowering under cover 150 feet away with no memory of getting there, the shock was so great. Decades later he was having serious neurological problems and his doctor figured out the cause. It was that big gun.

          • fkevin

I feel for him and for you. Deafness can be isolating for older people, and trying for family members.

        • William

My partner spent part of his time in the Army “disposing” of expired munitions during the Reagan years. Conversations with him can get rather Zen.

    • David Walker

I wish to point out that, despite the correct use of the apostrophe, I am not part of this Walker clan.

    • Steve Teeter

If you’re trying to protect hearing, then yes, ear protection is enough. But that’s not what this is about, is it.

  • Bluto

So this is the new meme; the shooters auditory well being is now more important than freedom holes in other people’s bodies.
Yes it is a health issue but for the victims, not the ammosexuals.

  • Joe in PA

But back to something actually important…Melania’s choice of footwear. As if this brain-dead bunch of idiots could come up with something more pathetic and pandering than the stilettos…in PR yesterday she wore these:

    https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/e743c5c48bc87d677b5462459b94a0d722d0a816756d927b3f5959c472859a22.png

    • Karl Dubhe

I’m surprised they didn’t have the tags on them, still.

      • M Jackson

She walked off the carpet so she can’t return them.

        • JackFknTwist

          Yard sale ?

          • David Walker

The money will go to charities. Hahahahahahahahahahaha

      • thatotherjean

Are those things really suede? Not planning to get near any standing water, I suppose, but had to look the part after the kerfuffle over her stiletto heels. It’s better than the heels, though.

        • Karl Dubhe

No, just rough leather if they’re actually work boots. Well made and treated in some manner, as you don’t spend that money on boots like that which are shit.

If they’re work boots, they weren’t designed with the Trumps in mind. 🙂

    • Steve Smith

Better than the stilettos. But its obvious that she just hasn’t got a clue. if its not tacky, glittery or covered in labels, she just doesn’t know what to wear or when to wear it.

    • Adam King

      Immaculate.

      • David Walker

        Immaculate deception.

    • kareemachan

They look SO new. Gawds, she is dumb.

    • charemor

But doesn’t she know that you shouldn’t wear white after Labor Day?

  • andrew

The main purpose for gun silencers is to allow murderers to get away with murder.

  • CanuckDon

Nickname Republicans as the “Killer Party” because that’s squarely what they are.

  • barrixines
    • crewman

No. That’s special. I would love to send John Waters and a film crew through their house.

        • jmax

They’re all out. The little pink princess shot the dog.

          • Adam King

            Practice makes perfect.

    • FAEN

Yep, that’s normal in certain places.

    • Anastasia Beaverhousen

      West Virginia or Alabama?

      • Robincho

        Yes.

        • kareemachan

          Floriduh?

    • Karl Dubhe

That’s a fabulous spot to store your weapons, right next to the china cabinet. A china cabinet without much china in it… Is that a teddy bear in the lower left part of that thing?

At least they didn’t store their ammo in the china cabinet, right? 🙂

    • DoctorDJ

      Isn’t that Honey Bang Bang?

  • FAEN

Is it me or does it seem after ever mass shooting the GOP want to loosen not tighten gun regulations?

    • David Walker

Don’t forget that gun makers’ stocks go up after events such as LV. Monday followed true to form. What’s good for business is good for Murka.

    • Vista-Cruiser

No it isn’t you. Republicans want to eliminate all gun regulations. And they’ll be able to do just that, thanks to a Democratic Party that finds itself completely locked out of power.

      • FAEN

        But her emails! 🙄

  • Mark McGovern

Last year , Pulse was the worst incident ever. That record has been quickly eclipsed already, teaching mass killers new tricks about maximizing damage. Who knows where this is heading, but it ain’t gun control yet. Eventually, a tipping point will be reached.

    • Ragnar Lothbrok

Only when the ” right people ” are killed or affected.

      • David Walker

I’d offer a few suggestions, but I don’t really need to meet my local SS (Secret Service) agents.

      • Steve Teeter

Shooting Steve Scalise should have done that trick. But he’s back from the hospital more gun crazy than ever.

    • lymis

It’s inevitable that the body count becomes a contest, if it hasn’t already on certain parts of the internet.

      • Mark McGovern

Yep; that’s my fear. Intimidate people at mass gatherings where they can maximize impact. Frightening.

  • barrixines

Guns kill nearly 1,300 children in the US every year so of course the health issue is the impact on shooters’ hearing. That’s a fuckload of people going deaf.

Gun Oil Silicone Lubricant For Men-https://www.amazon.com/Gun-Oil-Silicone-Lubricant-Men/dp/B0006IOTJO?th=1

Gun Oil – the premium, condom-safe lubricant that keeps a man’s most important weapon well oiled. If the military issued a lube, this is what they’d distribute with the condoms and artillery. During Operation Desert Storm, Marines jacked off with actual military-issue gun oil while hunkered down in the trenches of Kuwaiti battlefields. A group of those marines has developed a high-tech, condom-safe formula for smooth, rapid-fire action. This silicone-based lube keeps a Private’s parts well-lubricated with added Vitamin E and Aloe Vera for longer lasting, slicker ride and minimized skin irritation. The ultra-concentrated formula is designed to out-perform comparable top-shelf products – a few drops lubricate thoroughly without breaking down or drying out.

Gun crime is a real family values thing in the US?

  • Puck

Wonder how fast they would tighten those regulation if some nutters started targeting republican politicians only?

    • Steve Teeter

That’s already happened. That’s how Steve Scalise got shot. Hasn’t made any difference.

      • lymis

Even though, if that shooter had had a silencer, he’d have been able to take out a lot more of them before anyone figured out what was happening.

        Jesus.

    • DoctorDJ

I’m sure that country music-loving crowd in Las Vegas was 90% rethuglican.

Still no budging from Mitch et al.

  • PhallicMetaphor

I don’t understand why everyone is against silencers, it only decreases the chances of a murder being stopped or caught. What’s your problem?

    • lymis

Do we have no concern for the loss of hearing of serial murderers?

  • lymis

NOT that I expect any logic on any of this, but just like assault rifles, even if you grant some sort of sweeping Constitutional right to own *some* guns, it doesn’t follow that some kinds of guns can’t be regulated – nor that something like a silencer can’t be strictly regulated, the sale of them legally documented, and the penalties for owning or using one outside those regulations strict and harsh.

NOBODY needs a silencer to defend their home. And nobody needs a handgun silencer to legally hunt game. Even the situations in which law enforcement or government agencies have a valid use for silencers are rare to the point of non-existence. (And can certainly be licensed appropriately if someone comes up with a good reason to allow it.)

  • JWC

What a dumb ass A health issue ? It afford the assailant hearing protection? What, so he can’t hear the guns mighty bang. Tthere is half an erection lost right there

  • Willys41

We need to ban all sales & transfers of semi-auto rifles and shotguns. If you have one, you keep it till you die. Then it gets turned in and destroyed.

  • DoctorDJ

    “It’s a health issue????!!!!!!!!!!”

No shit, Sherlock. Give a MORAN a gun, and somebody’s health is gonna suffer.

  • JAKvirginia

It’s the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act.

    SHREA.

    SHREA law.

You can’t make this shit up.

  • Wonder how many injured and killed were/ are for allowing the sales of Weapons of “The Masses” Destruction. If this guy had silencers, he would have been able to continue his barrage even longer, increasing the carnage. What the hell is the matter with those people? Greed over lives is what is the matter, which is how communism works. “I want my money no matter who gets hurt, killed or starved in the process.” The GOP has climbed into bed with the “devil” himself.

    • James

Actually, it wasn’t the sound of gunfire that alerted police and security to where he was, it was the smoke alarms going off in his suite. But certainly in another situation what you say might well be true.

  • JCF

“they make it easier 4 children 2 use guns”

I got nuthin’ (but dumbfounded silence).

  • Gianni

That makes sense. If the Las Vegas dude had used silencers, he could have slaughtered a lot more people. Nobody would have been able to pinpoint his location. WTF is it with Republicans and this need to make it cosmically easier for the troubled and weak-minded to accrue as many guns as they can afford and use any and all possible modifications to make them into crowd-killing weapons.

  • MassageBear

“There’s nothing bad about it…it makes total sense.”
The only thing that makes sense is that this guy is, like the rest of their clan, a moron.

  • Vista-Cruiser

Yes this is horrible. But it’s also a direct and foreseeable result of Democratic-leaning Americans sitting out elections.
