Tony Perkins: Democrats Invented Tom Price’s Private Jet Scandal To “Distract” Him From Stopping Abortions

Via press release from hate group leader Tony Perkins:

Knowing Tom Price as I have, there’s no doubt in my mind that he meticulously followed every rule. The department’s legal team would have been consulted before he stepped foot on these charters.

In the end, though, this isn’t about Secretary Price’s ethics, it’s about trying to discredit one of the most effective social conservatives in Washington. And now that Congress’s Obamacare repeal is on ice, the Left knows better than anyone that any modifications to the law will be done directly through HHS.

Obviously, the abortion industry — and Planned Parenthood especially — will do everything they can to stop those changes from happening. Distracting Price is all part of the Democrats’ strategy to keep HHS from following through with the president’s promises and policies. As usual, they can’t seem to achieve that through anything but personal (and baseless) attacks.

  • Lakeview Bob

Ok. Now we are responsible for every bad behavior these fuck heads do.

    • Lizard

I’m not. Tom Price is from my state and he can still go fuck a pencil sharpener. I didn’t vote for or support any of these elitist assholes.

      • Lizard

I’m sorry…I missed your sarcasm within the context of this particular story. My bad.

I’m so sick of Perkins and his shit.

    • The department鈥檚 legal team would have been consulted before he stepped foot on these charters.

  • Last I checked, the HHS secretary does not have unilateral powers to ban a legal medical practice.

    • Nowhereman

Exactly. What if he was a jehovah witness and decided to work on banning blood transfusions and organ transplants?

Nothing is fact anymore now that these turds have invaded the punch bowl.

I heard $400,000, where did the million figure come from that he’s citing?

      • Dagoril

So we’re paying him with tax dollars to ride in private planes to stop abortions overseas? Is that what Tonette is trying to claim here? 馃槈

    • Nowhereman

So a slap on the pinky…

    • clay

      A Democrat deep-state swamp-thing invented that.
And also Hurricane Maria, Trump University fraud, Bank of Cyprus documents, and Judge Moore’s son’s drug issues.

  • JoeMyGod
    • That’s a quarter million dollars in air travel alone in each of the five months since his confirmation.

Doesn’t count lodging, meals, or local transportation, or other expenses.

      From the HHS website:

It is the mission of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) to enhance and protect the health and well-being of all Americans. We fulfill that mission by providing for effective health and human services and fostering advances in medicine, public health, and social services.

Not one word in there about anything that sounds like it needs constant luxury travel, including internationally.

      • Lizard

Especially internationally, imo. He’s the head of the U.S. Dept of Health and Human Services, not the World Health Organization. I can understand them occasionally traveling out of country, but what the hell is he doing out of America so often?

Chris, I’m sure you know by now that I’m a rabid American anglophile. I adore everything British. The art, the history, the traditions. My ancestors fled Russia and Eastern Europe at the turn of the 20th Century and settled all over the place. I’m convinced there’s British blood coursing through my veins.

Dame Judi Dench is a goddess.

          • another_steve

Vorpal, my little girl has been scratching her nose to the point where a small blood spot has formed there. If it doesn’t stop, I’ll have to take her to the vet.

Have you observed such behavior in your babies?

          • vorpal 馃樇

I’ve noticed all kinds of weird behaviour in my four (and they that came before them), but no nose issues specifically.

Does her nose seem unnaturally dry? Maybe that is causing it to itch and for her to over-scratch? How long has it been going on for?

Keep an eye on it, and if it gets any worse or continues, I would say better safe than sorry.

I hope it’s nothing serious (and doubt it is) and that your little belle-hellion is just fine. Please keep me updated.

        • another_steve

We Jews gave the gentiles everything they know. We should get…I dunno…royalties or something.

As girl describes in that video, one of the key features of the Passover Seder is the commemorating of the time God passed over the Jewish first male born and killed only the goyish male first born.

          It’s a lovely, inspiring story.

A major motivator for alcoholism in the world today.

          • vorpal 馃樇

            I dunno…royalties or something.

Isn’t Planned Parenthood giving you a cut of the proceeds?

          • another_steve

            Lol.

Seriously though, there’s a Jewish cultural/religious ethos whereby, for example, even autopsies are frowned upon. Any “desecration” of the living or once-living.

Modern (Reform / Reconstructionist / etc.) Jews are fairly progressive when it comes to this stuff, but it would be disingenuous for anyone to claim that the ethos is totally lacking among even certain progressive Jews.

We’re a people who have been on the verge of extinction.

Such an experience informs the human psyche.

          • vorpal 馃樇

Thanks for sharing that. It’s easy to gain an understanding of the differences in Christian mindsets since they feel the need to constantly announce them to us and force them on us while creating as much of a scene as possible. I really know very little about Judaism since Jews seem to keep to themselves, and thus, I am grateful to know even a little bit more!

As someone who has masturbated his personal human psyche in almost every way imaginable, I think the human psyche is just one fascinating, fucked up mess.

I didn’t realize until the time of Trump that our cabinet members’ main responsibility was to make sure to dismantle the departments that they head. And Tony–you are wrong. About EVERYTHING.

Mr. Perkins is utterly shameless in spreading falsehoods. But it is true that the commandment does not prohibit lying, as such, but rather bans those who would “bear false witness against thy neighbor”. Just the same, one can hardly imagine Mr. Perkins as being Christ-like in any regard. Remember the parable about how the Pharasees wanted to stone a prostitute and Christ simply said “May he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

    Stolen from internets :

Roy Moore, the controversial Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Alabama, neglected to disclose as much as $150,000 in income to federal ethics officials, according to a Daily Beast review of public records.

In filings with the Alabama Ethics Commission, Moore, the former chief justice of the state supreme court, listed between $50,000 and $150,000 in honoraria received last year for various speaking engagements. But in a filing with the Senate Ethics Committee two months later, he explicitly denied having received any payments last year “for an article, speech, or appearance.”

Moore鈥檚 Senate disclosure filing also stated that neither he or his wife had any outstanding liabilities last year of more than $10,000. But in his Alabama filing, Moore listed between $150,000 and $250,000 in liabilities owed to a credit union or savings and loan (or a credit card issued by one of them) in 2016.

O/T: This article discusses Michigan, which had implemented “driver responsibility fees” to be paid up to two years after, and on top of, a fine for driving violations on the range of $200 to $1000 annually. It brings in up to $100M annually and about $600M is owed to the system. The problem is that if one can’t pay the fee, then their license is suspended and additional fees accumulate to the point that it becomes virtually impossible to pay off the state. Michigan is phasing out the responsibility fees because it creates a death spiral.

I bring it up because it is a way that I’ve seen first hand about how it as a state policy punishes the poor.

          • vorpal 馃樇

It can’t turn out any worse that orange + micropenis, but given that I went into Nov 8th, 2016 completely convinced beyond the shadow of a doubt that we’d be celebrating our second President Clinton the next day, nothing my fellow Americans can collectively do could shock me at this point.

          • NZArtist

I meant how do you think it would play out in an election cycle. Who do you think will get the most favourable media coverage?

          • vorpal 馃樇

Honestly, I really couldn’t even begin to guess due to how unpredictable I find the American electorate that actually show up.

If Oprah could somehow nab the Democratic primaries (which I can see happening) and had to face off against the Shitgibbon, I think I’d rather just stop playing and bow out. As for whether or not that would give the Emperor Shitgibbon enough time to turn his supporters permanently against him to the point where they’d be willing to vote for She of the Black Vagina is another matter entirely.

I predict that we would see, by far, record low voter turnout and it would be agonizingly close. It would also guarantee the end of the US if it hasn’t already gone past the tipping point.

Media coverage doesn’t really seem relevant at this point, nor do facts. US politics has become religion: you make up your mind, often through early indoctrination, and then just masturbate your cognitive bias, and only the well-informed or the completely uninformed bother to participate.

          • NZArtist

Well how do you think it would play out in Russian-purchased, alt-right-promoted adverts on Facebook/Twatter/TV?

          • vorpal 馃樇

You’re talking to the guy who was entirely stupid enough to genuinely believe beyond the shadow of a doubt that Hillary Clinton would be our president for eight years. In fact, when my dad said he was worried in October that Trump might win, I laughed and laughed and told him he had nothing to worry about.

Perhaps you should send a Facebook message directly to Oprah? Putin might intercept it and give you an answer and maybe Zuckerberg would hazard an opinion, too.

          • Refugay

If I had anything to do with that I certainly wouldn’t be here bitching about politics.

          • vorpal 馃樇

Given how implicated the US is in world politics and interferes in other countries’ affairs, when an American tells me (thinking I am a Canadian and not dual) that, “American politics are none of your business and your opinion is irrelevant,” I get pretty pissed off.

LOL I would reply to your “metric” comment with smugness, saying that as a Canadian, we have gone metric, but we still measure human height and weight in feet / inches and pounds. (I think everything else is metric, but when someone here in Chile asks me for my height in cm, my brain completely freezes up. Unfortunately, I DO know my weight in kg – ha!)

          • Refugay

I have lived in four countries outside the US and have learned four different languages but could never adjust to the metric system or celsius. I had a general idea of a measurement-it just never felt accurate.

          • vorpal 馃樇

It’s a weird system, for sure. Mathematically, it makes complete sense, as it’s base-10 and thus doesn’t require the memorization of a ton of weird constants, but it’s not relatable to humans outside of what is probably an equal exercise in memorization since it has no relation to the human body or experience.

Nice! What four languages do you know? I speak what I like to think is passable English, and I can muddle my way through French, stumble through basic Spanish, and used to know reasonable Mandarin (but have not practiced in four years or so – ugh). I wish I had more of a dedication to languages, but languages only interest me up until the point where syntax stops and human psychology (and thus tedious memorization of exceptions) begins.

          • TampaDink

Sad to say that it isn’t up to we the people to allow the rest of the world choose our president, that is an honor bestowed only on Russia.

And the majority of us did pick the right candidate last November, by several million. Democrats support overturning the EC. Republicans don’t, because why would they? It keeps handing them elections they don’t deserve.

    • Sam_Handwich

i have a very wise younger friend who proclaimed to me, following the fucked up 2016 election, that only celebrities will run for president from now on. or at least only celebrities will win.

it’s not entirely implausible. it’s also not entirely implausible that certain celebrities can learn the job and also take the advice of seasoned, knowledgeable advisors and cabinet members. unlike the current toddler

    • SoCalGal20

Well…she’s a billionaire (a real one) and she’s smart and she obviously knows how to run a business and she has a lot of friends in government. So while I’d prefer an actual career civil servant/legislator/governor, if I had to choose a celebrity type, I’d vote for her.

(We just have to keep her from appointing Dr. Oz as head of HHS or the FDA or something)

      • gaycuckhubby

Unfortunately, (IMHO) none of those characteristics make someone qualified to be POTUS

        • SoCalGal20

I mean, when comes down to it, I don’t WANT her to be the nominee. But if she were, I do think she’d do ok. Unlike the current shitshow.

Also, the money aspect is she has the money to run, and she could bring in money. That’s important in this day and age, unfortunately (THANKS SCOTUS).

Smarts and knowing what you don’t know and appointing people who DO know, is at least part of the battle and a thing that obviously Trump is failing at massively. So I feel like she would at least bring in competent people who know what they’re doing and listen and learn from them. I think she’s probably good at decision making. That’s an important skill. • UrsusArctos

The thing that will really screw the PR folks is that ad hoc volunteers can’t convoy in and start helping. The federal response is VERY similar to Katrina. Gulfport is the FREAKING HOME BASE of the SeaBees in the eastern half of the US and they couldn’t do anything for several days until authorized. With a major disaster you better be prepared to be on your own for a week minimum. This doesn’t lesson the pain they’re feeling or danger they’re in. The other part making things bad for them is being secondary to larger population centers. We saw that with Katrina as well. The SeaBees/Naval hospital ships and carriers/National guard units should have all been mobilized days before Maria hit. It is obvious to anyone with storm experience the federal role will be larger with Maria than any mainland storm.

As much as I appreciate his humor in many ways, it doesn’t work for long-form comedy. Invented ??? Did this fuckstick use private planes to the tune of $400,000. and charge the government fully expecting the taxpayer to pay for the clusterfuck and if no-one complained what are the probabilities that he would’ve continued to use the same mode of transportation for the next 4 years ? … let’s figure this out if it was $400,000. for 8 months in office then another 4 months making a full year would be $600,000. and a full 4 years would be something like $ 2,400,000. to stick to the taxpayer ( meaning, essentially all of us ). So Democrats made all of this up ??? How did they make it up if it’s true – it’s a fact — remember ??? It ain’t a feeling.

Was very disappointed. It was like a class reunion and in the first 10 seconds you are thinking “why am I here”. It is a very different time.

      • ByronK

        Very good description actually.

      • Stubenville

Except the class hasn’t aged well; they’re as shallow and immature as ever.

        • Lazycrockett

That was my problem they haven’t aged at all. Still in the same situation as they were decades ago. You’d think they would have advanced in their careers or something. Overall though it was the same as it was back in the day.

          • Stubenville

It would have been refreshing if they had mixed up the formula a bit instead of leaving it stuck firmly in the past. Maybe Will trying to run for political office, Grace working as a design director at a big interiors firm with a bunch sullen underlings, Karen with a new career as a real estate developer / Trump competitor and Jack… perhaps he starts a catering business and gets into legal trouble for refusing to cater wedding receptions for heterosexual couples?

    • another_steve

The whole original Will and Grace thing was for straights only.

      Asexual gay men.

What straight viewers wanted and demanded.

      • ByronK

I just could never figure out why Will would stay friends with Grace. Her character was almost always insufferable and very hard to like. Like a third rate Seinfeld with some artificial gay flavoring – none of them are actually very likeable but they were occasionally amusing.

And while it’s also starting to eye the shark tank as well, Modern Family last night did make me laugh out loud a few times.

Joel’s best-known book is called Swish: My Quest to Become the Gayest Person Ever. It’s a collection of his essays, mainly from his blog, The Search for Love in Manhattan. Joel ended up marrying a doctor. He lives in NYC, where he knits, teaches aerobics, and write musical theater. Joel’s dad is a famous civil rights attorney here in Charleston.

I used to email with a co-worker only in haiku. We became so quick with it we could do it while speaking. It was quite fascinating and fun.

Haiku focuses and disciplines the mind.

    • You don’t understand — the less influential he is, and the more his agenda loss public support, the louder he screams.

Take Brian Brown as another example. (Remember him? The one whose demonstrations in support of “traditional marriage” drew tens of supporters?)

The thing about the “Christian” right at present is that while Trump is stacking the administration with those who want to 1) erase the name “Obama” from history and 2) roll back all progress in minority rights gained since — hell, I don’t know, the Nineteenth Amendment? The Fourteenth? — they’ve got to ram through their Dominionist agenda asap, because there will be a backlash and they know it.

“They claimed that because Gu has become a doctor, this directly negates white supremacy. “If America is so racist, how did you get to be a doctor?”

    Also later in the article:

“The common theme among these white supremacists is to accuse me of ‘Asian
privilege,'” Gu said. “Their arguments were that because I went to Stanford and Duke Medical School, I should be thankful and not complain about systemic racism…”

Dr. Gu earned his medical degree and he probably had to work quite a bit harder because it’s known that often Asian Americans have to score & grade higher to get in. Also, it’s funny how a white billionaire who inherited his money is not scolded that he’s too fucking privileged to talk by the same people bullshitting Dr. Gu.

And notice the whole “why aren’t you grateful?” bullshit? I’m all “Fuck you, he earned his degree and is a zillion times smarter than your orange idol!” And there’s also the whole issue of pitting minorities against each other.

To me Japanese food is even more interesting. It is a feast for the eyes and by ritualizing its preparation and presentation it distracts from the relatively small portions. In the US we have Golden Corral.

True story: I learned to cook because my mother was so bad at it. There was an Asian grocery store about 30 miles away and i would go there and buy things without much if a clue how they were supposed to be used. My attitude was “Seaweed? Well they eat it somewhere so it’s worth a try.”

At one point one of the HS assistant football coaches lived across the street from us (good looking FWIW) and he and my parents were talking in the yard. I went outside and offered them all some of the Teriyaki Turnips I’d just made (shut up, it was good) and me playing football was never brought up again.
