PHILIPPINES: President Says He’ll Have His Son Killed By Police If Drug Trafficking Accusation Proves True

The Guardian reports:

The Philippine president, Rodrigo Duterte, has said he would have his son killed if drug trafficking allegations against the younger politician were true, and that the police who carry out the hit would be protected from prosecution.

Paolo Duterte, 42, appeared this month before a senate inquiry to deny accusations made by an opposition lawmaker that he was a member of a Chinese triad gang who helped smuggle in a huge shipment of crystal methamphetamine from China.

“I said before my order was: ‘If I have children who are into drugs, kill them so people will not have anything to say,’” Duterte said in a speech on Wednesday night in front of government workers at the presidential palace in Manila.

RELATED: Last week Duterte called the head of the Commission on Human Rights a “gay pedophile” for objecting to police killings of teenagers. Last month Duterte ordered police to shoot any “idiots” who resist arrest. In May 2017, Duterte imposed martial law and “joked” that soldiers are now allowed to rape up to three women. Duterte has bragged of “personally” murdering suspected criminals and has compared himself favorably to Adolf Hitler, saying that he would happily execute millions of drug users. Trump has praised Duterte’s “unbelievable job” in giving police and vigilante squads free rein to murder suspected drug users and dealers and invited him to visit the White House. An estimated 6000 Filipinos have been slain in the streets on Duterte’s orders.

    • TrueWords

Crazy maybe…But to millions of Filipinos, Duterte’s appeal is simple: he is, they believe, the sort of bombastic firebrand who can clean up a crime-riddled nation and eradicate endemic corruption.

      • Tawreos

I hope they take comfort in that thought at funerals for the friends, neighbors and family members.

      • Goodboy

We’re on the edge of that knife right here in Amerikkka.

Oops….that LOL was intended to be a reply to Gustav2’s “Pardon?”

      • TampaDink

I see what you did there….and I love it.

    • Goodboy

I’d say that would make up a sizable amount of the killings. Killing liabilities is a dictators time honored tradition.

  • Todd20036

Well, points for not being hypocritical, but wow!

Hey Uday and Usay, take note. Trump likes this guy.

    • FAEN

Some days I wonder how much of this behavior(Cheeto and the loon in the Philippines)is an act versus actual bat shit crazy.

      • Tor

It’s a fact, both are batshit crazy.

  • Macbill

We need more crazy leaders in the world.

  • bambinoitaliano

I think he speaks for the mind set of the shit gibbon as well. If Mueller investigation comes to that, I do believe Jr and Eric will be part of the collateral damage. It’s kill or be kill kind of family relationship a la the Menendez brothers.

    • Todd20036

But not his son in law. I suspect that simply because Another Steve’s beau is decent looking, Trump won’t use him as a stepping stone.
I really believe it’s that simple.

      • Tawreos

He won’t risk making Ivanka mad at him which is the only reason he won’t throw Jared under the bus.

        • Todd20036

That too. Trump actually respects Ivanka, but again, it could be a “looks” thing.

      • dcurlee

You would think he would want the son in law out of the way so he can date his daughter

        • TampaDink

I’ve never read a single claim that he denies dating her now…and he also has never denied that he forces Jared to watch while he bangs her.

          • LatrinaDiBucca

And along with those non-denials, a lot of people are saying it. Some of the best people.

          • TampaDink

What the hell is going on? Something is going on there. Believe me!

      • FAEN

Meh-he looks like a crappy rat to me.

    • another_steve

I’m convinced Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, will be the first family member thrown under the bus.

Kushner is Jewish; you can imagine what Trump’s Christian fundamentalist base thinks about that. I’m sure they have Jared pegged as the anti-Christ.

      • bambinoitaliano

I think you are giving Trump too much credit for caring what his supporters think. When his ass is on the line, it would not matter who he will throw under the bus first. He does not have the cool and calculative mind set to map out his defense. However, I do believe Jared will be the first not because of being non blood relative rather how deeply involved he is in this mess.

        • TampaDink

“He does not have the cool and calculative mind set to map out his defense”…but his lawyers have the cool & calculative mind sets to map out his defense…but they lack the common sense that would have let them know that speaking about their client’s case in public where anyone can overhear the conversation is unprofessional & just plain fucking stupid.

          • bambinoitaliano

Haven’t you read about his lawyers are fighting among themselves? They have never dealt with indefensible offense of this magnitude before.

  • crewman

This is the President, Trump called and had a “very friendly conversation” with. Trump told him:

I just wanted to congratulate you because I am hearing of the unbelievable job on the drug problem

    • Todd20036

As bad as this idiot is handling the drug problem, that’s not even the worst.
The worst is using this as an excuse to kill political dissidents, or “undesirables” like gays, non-Christians, etc.

    • vorpal 😼

“Congratulations on killing nonviolent offenders who only put themselves at risk!”

Sounds about what I would expect from Trump.

    • olandp

Don the Con seems oblivious to the fact Duterte would have had him killed in the Studio 54 days.*

I can’t believe Steve Rubell would have let the Donald in.

  • Tawreos

I really hope that Macron’s election in France was a signal to turn away from the crazy leaders and back to more sane and serene statesmanlike leadership

  • chris james

Maybe the son will do us all a favor and chop off the head of the family tree.

    • AmeriCanadian

That’s what I was thinking. If I were the son, and my father was threatening to kill me, I would certainly be looking at my alternatives.

    • Ron Robertson

Family dinners must be a joy with them. Hopefully they’re all packing, and can shoot it out one day.

  • He’s Barty Crouch from Harry Potter. Except real and worse. >_<

“Did Crouch try and get his son off?” Hermione whispered.

Sirius let out a laugh that was much more like a bark. “Crouch let his son off? I thought you had the measure of him, Hermione! Anything that threatened to tarnish his reputation hadto go; he had dedicated his whole life to becoming Minister of Magic. You saw him dismiss a devoted house-elf because she associated him with the Dark Mark again — doesn’t that tell you what he’s like? Crouch’s fatherly affection stretched just far enough togive his son a trial, and by all accounts, it wasn’t much more than an excuse for Crouch to show how much he hated the boy…then he sent him straight to Azkaban.”

“He gave his own son to the dementors?” asked Harry quietly.

“That’s right,” said Sirius, and he didn’t look remotely amused now.

    • Natty Enquirer

“Brilliant,” exclaimed Harry with a breathless chuckle that was more like a hacking cough. “Now that’s sorted, who wants to go for a ride on my wand?”

      • Todd20036

I see what you did there.
And even if wasn’t intended, I wouldn’t mind riding Harry’s wand.
But Daniel R is just too damned cute!

      • Tawreos

Please tell me Ron raised his hand with a grin

      • Kelly Lape

After Equus we all could see Harry had more of a Broomstick than a Wand.

that the police don’t find his son guilty of drug trafficking?

    • FAEN

      I’m shocked, SHOCKED I tell you 😏

      Morning Seeet Vorpal!

      • vorpal 😼

Morning, FAEN! I woke up to your message and will reply in a little bit once the covfefe kicks in!

    • Uncle Mark

If that ugly spud of a dictator in the Philippines had any intention of actually proving his son guilty or innocent, all he would have to do is look at the kid’s incriminating tattoo. (There’s a reason the kid refused to show it at the inquiry.) Odds are the kid would also role over on the son-in-law too, who is also accused.

  • Halou

Rather than turn his attention to the fact that Chinese gangs are trying to dump large amounts of illegal narcotics in his country, Duterte instead focuses his ire on the citizens of his country.

Well, the Chinese government that probably turns a blind eye to the gangsters and their activities because bribes / political convenience, they have pledged many billions of dollars in supposedly unconditional no-strings-attached aid money to the Philippine government. Much of the money is diverted to Duterte himself, his loyalists and other key supporters in what would otherwise have been a shocking display of corruption (if only there was an American president who could say as much and not join in the corruption conga).
Duterte has to repay China’s “generosity” somehow, and this is it. The people who bring in the drugs get away with it and his fellow countrymen and women, even his own family, are brutally oppressed. He is going to kill his son for Chinese money.

  • margaretpoa

Hey, Duterte, Trump and his kids are drug traffickers. Every last one of them.

    • worstcultever

I wonder if Duterte drinks. I.e., ingests a drug.

Also, I wonder if he cares about sexual trafficking of children like he cares about trafficking in drugs.

    • States don’t require “power”. People require health care that won’t bankrupt them, or require them to chose between life saving meds and food. States rights is a lie propagated by the southern states when they turned the Treason War into a struggle for states rights rather than slavery in the early days of 1900’s.

      • -M-

Also one of them wants to amend this bill to prevent states from instituting single payer with their block grant. So, states’ rights once again only extend to them implementing ideas the Rethugs like.

Still on subject, on going. People remain in the rubble in Mexico City.

    • With so much hurricane destruction, the world’s humanitarian resources are stretched thin, but I hope help is on the way for Mexico. Wasn’t there an earthquake just a few months ago? Then their hurricane and now this.

      • TuuxKabin

I know, and I’m feeling that as well as the rest of the BS we have to wake up to day after goddamn day. The earthquake was two weeks ago. September 7. I too hope help is on the way. Wasn’t a donation plea, just an up date.

If xtian numerologists are a thing, and xtian prophets profits are allowed to declare natural phenomena (eclipses, earthquakes, droughts, hurricanes) are “signs from gawd,” then what’s to prevent me from saying that there is irrefutable truth found when one rearranges the letters of a person’s name.

Rodrigo Duterte ~ O Tired Ogre Turd

  • worstcultever

Philippines such a mess. Wildly overpopulated fertility cult disguised as a nation. Too many people (thanks, 19th c. Catlick missionaries!) + diminishing resources = ever increasing stress on everything. Followed inevitably by ever increasing scrooge-like views of simply doing away with “surplus population.” (Btw it’s coming here too – already here, really – in case nobody’s noticed)

My sis joined the US Navy in the 80s, spent most of her career at Subic Bay, married a Filipino guy, marriage didn’t last but everybody’s cool and now he and a bunch of his extended family live in San Diego. And to a person they are the fucking coolest people. Truly there is something unique and gentle in the Filipino soul like I’ve never seen anywhere. But that poor country – eventually overpopulation and its stresses (along with unfettered capitalism, which always and only results in oligarchy/cronyism/mental disease) = nazi strongman bullshit. We’re seeing it everywhere.

  • Rex

So, reading through this post and I get to the “related” part and as I’m reading I can totally imagine Trump doing all these things if he is allowed to continue unchecked.
    This is some scary shit.

Given that birds of a feather flock together, who doesn’t think Trump wouldn’t throw Jared, Don. Jr etc. under the bus to save himself.
