Trump Again Complains That His Hands Are Too YUGE To Wear Rubber Gloves During Hurricane Relief Stop

The New Yorker reports:

President Trump, who’s been dealing with smart alecks making fun of his gerbil hands since he was a fixture in Spy magazine, made a show of not being able to fit into a pair of rubber gloves on Thursday, the second time he’s done so in as many weeks.

During his trip to hurricane-ravaged Naples, Florida, Trump, along with the First Lady, vice-president, and others, passed out lunch to people working to clean up the coastal town.

According to the White House pool report, Trump positioned himself behind a tray of sandwiches, where he attempted to put on a pair of rubber gloves. He struggled to fit them over his mitts, declaring, “They’re too small.”

    • Mark_in_MN

But look at the way he’s trying to put them on, the way he’s holding his hands. He is trying to make them “not fit.”

      • BJORN RAGNVALDR

Of coure that’s what hes doing, in the face of Americans who cannot even make it home to seen if they even have a home,
His priority is desperately trying to prove he does not have micro penis.
That’s what the so called president finds most important. Not Americans.

      • Longpole

He probably has sweaty hands. That would make the rubber gloves hard to put on. The sweaty hands are due to his nervousness and lack of experience…. exacerbated by poor circulation no doubt.

Seriously. My hands are smaller than most women’s.

My dick is 9″. For crying out loud, dick size is NOT measured by the size of other body parts.

You measure your dick from where it meets your abdomen to its tip, not from the tip to behind your balls on the taint.

A more appropriate time to hit back against the small hands thing would have been the Correspondence Dinner. But he was to afraid to show up for it after threatening to imprison journalists during one of his temper tantrums.

Donald’s handprint may be found at Madam Tussauds NY. After measuring it, the press discovered he’s in the 10-20% of hand sizes for all men. Considering his height, that’d make his hands extra tiny.

Most human beings have, at one time or another, some moments of self reflection. I regard as curious those who say, “I have no regrets.”
As for me, I have many regrets.
I regret that I have doubted my honest instincts. I regret that I have allowed my insecure pride to displace my human humility. I regret that I have taken for granted honest expressions of love. I regret that I have dismissed the too fleeting present in favor of the always eternal past.
I do not believe that Donald Trump engages in self reflection. I do not believe he came equipped with a gear marked “regrets.” I believe that he was processed and packaged with a label that was stamped only “Me!”

A person without regrets is not to be trusted.

        • wmforr

When Edith Piaf didn’t come to my party, she didn’t even send her regrets. But Miss Otis did.

          Poor Donnie one-note

      • Ander

They are, I believe, too invested in the fraud. They have, for their own reasons, placed their intractable trust in a person who mirrors and nurtures their fear.

Melania told me that Donald has a small one. Very small. Half the time, she can’t even find it. Not that she wants to find it, but it’s sort of required that she touch it from time time. Part of her job description.

Article in New York Times mentions that Karen will be besties with Melanoma:

Karen, on the other hand, has not changed for the better. “She’s the same but worse,” Ms. Mullally said. “And I can’t tell you how fun that is. Some actors spend their lives desperately trying to distance themselves from their sitcom characters. I’ll play Karen until I die if they let me.”

Ms. Mullally said that Karen will be the one making most of the show’s Trump commentary, albeit by accident. “They’re leaving it to the character who is best friends with Donnie and Melania to inadvertently be the one delivering the most vicious jabs,” Ms. Mullally said.

There won’t be too much of a political undercurrent, though. “Little doses,” Ms. Mullally said. “You can’t write anything too specific because — honey! — by the time it airs Trump will have done 10 other horrible things.”

It’s definitely a theatrical presentation of the latest album (“Joanne”), but it felt simultaneously like a hit-loaded Stones’ show since she did so many “classics” (2010!!)

Since her “Born this Way” tour skipped Philly, I was happier than a pig in, er, shit, to hear her perform “Scheisse” (npi, npi) from that album. It’s probably one of my top 3 LG songs, but it does seem to have left the audience lukewarm (They’re just stupid.) despite using one of the tour’s most amazing stage-tricks (no spoilers! You might go on YouTube!)

I DID manage to not follow every jot and tittle online about the tour, so almost everything was a surprise. Good move on my part.

And as she matures, her between-song patter is getting less jejune. She actually (I’m sorry) has something to say to me when the music stops.

          • Treant

Don’t be sorry, I’ve always liked Lady Gaga. Particularly since she urged people to call Congress.

  • Lumpy Gaga

    Hurricane relief as hat-sales ad.

At least Melania has stopped trying (her first hat said “FLOTUS”. Really, MT? Fuck you.)

“we all salute the same great flag”

      No. We really don’t.
      http://www.dw.com/image/40073327_303.jpg

      • Karl Dubhe

I’d be willing to ‘salute’ those flags.

After soaking them in dung and gasoline and then lighting them. (just the flags…)

    • safari

The loyalty thing is creepy to me.

      • Treant

Bow down, BOW DOWN, Safari, and worship at the same great flag we all do. You wouldn’t want us to think you’re unpatriotic, now would you?

        • Halou

          Patriotically incorrect.

  • Cuberly

Oh for Pete’s sake….he gave up on the gloves because he has the attention span of a fruit fly. He can’t concentrate long enough to actually work to pull the things on.

  • Halou

Oh, the “45 USA” hats come in all white now. Do they cost the same as the red ones? And will the profits still go to anywhere except a hurricane relief charity?

Never miss an opportunity to profit off of someone else’s suffering.

    • fuzzybits

I noticed the other day that the Navy hat that Rick Scott was wearing had “45” on the back.

    • Karl Dubhe

You’ll know the market’s getting saturated when he starts to flog blue ones.

    • zhera

The white hats are a better match with the new nazi uniform.

      • UrsusArctos

The next version of white hats come to a tall conical point.

  • Dagoril

Rome wasn’t built in a day.

But it came down a hell of a lot faster than it went up. And that’s what worries me.

Trump had a a bipartisan Obamacare meeting and it went like this.

    https://twitter.com/onceupona/status/908482613706395649

    • Treant

Schumer: “Your penis is enormous, the largest I’ve ever seen! Maybe single payer healthcare?”

Pelosi: “I heard your cock is even bigger than your enormous hands, even bigger than your electoral win! I agree with Chuck.”

Trump: “Sounds good!” In his head: These people? These people get me.

      • Ross

I used to work for Trump and have previously stated that, if you compliment him, you can get almost anything from him.

So, Treant, your scenario is not wrong.

        • Treant

Figured. I’ve worked with the same sorts of people.

I’m usually the one who insists on telling the exact truth (sugar-coated, if necessary, but the truth). Which is why I used the past tense above.

  • Lazycrockett

    It’s Rachel Time.

    • another_steve

      Hillary’s talking.

Hurts my heart: This dignified, knowledgeable and articulate woman could have been our President.

      Hurts my heart.

      • Ross

        I second your hurt.

    • DaddyRay

And already Hillary is knocking it out of the park

      • Treant

Comparatively speaking, the park is now a very small back yard. America’s influence and standards are both sadly shrunken.

But Hills could hit it out of Fenway without straining.

Ah, what could have been. And may very well actually was, except for Russian meddling.

    • houstonray

YES!!! Watched the Anderson Cooper interview and while it was good, you’re right, it was prerecorded and just sound bites from the book.

Rachel is awesome tonight! And I think Hillary’s comments will be the new cycle tomorrow (along with what I’m guessing will be Trump’s response in
      3, 2, 1…)

    • Treant

      More importantly, do we care?

I don’t, personally. Both can be incendiary afterwards. Just remember, it’s unseemly for a seated official to attack a private citizen.

Rachel knows how to ask great questions, not fluff

        • fuzzybits

They gave her a chance to talk and it was tamer. Maybe because it was daytime tv.

          • DaddyRay

Rachel listens and asks good follow up questions and Hillary is responding without holding back

          • fuzzybits

Can you imagine what the ad sponsors are being charged per minute for space during this interview?

    • DaddyRay

Worth every penny as you know nobody is turning this off, if anything now that it is trending it will probably be one of the highest watched shows

    • Lazycrockett

I have noticed huge difference in the type of ads that are on MSNBC these days.

      • SoCalGal20

With Chris, Rachel, and Lawrence doing so well in the ratings they can charge more for ads.

        • Lazycrockett

and get better advertisers with better products. Haven’t seen a Mesothelima ad at night in almost a year.

  • another_steve

Trump “demeans, degrades and attacks” women.

Why didn’t she talk more about that on the campaign trail?

    • Ninja0980

She did… just her husband’s history made it harder for her to do that.
Not to mention the fact everyone heard that tape… and it didn’t bother the folks who voted for him one bit.

    • Lazycrockett

The Bernie bros were constantly yelling bout Bill raping women.

    • Cuberly

Coverage. So much of what she was trying to say just wasn’t effectively reported. They tried over and over. But breaking a news cycle with something not Trump related was practically impossible.

  • Lazycrockett

She is going the whole hour!!!! She only gave anderson 40 minutes.

  • jimbo65

Wow. A whole hour of this interview. Really fascinating

  • DaddyRay

I will be sending this interview to everyone I know who have cut the cord with cable

  • UrsusArctos

I wonder how much more he has in common with OJ Simpson besides the dislike of women and trouble with gloves.

    • fuzzybits

Sooner or later he’ll be feeble and incontinent and melonia will be watching over him.

      • Treant

For “fucking the gardener” levels of “watching over him.”

      • UrsusArctos

She’ll pay “little people” to do that. Wouldn’t want to interfere with her busy plans to stalk another zillionaire. THIS time she’ll demand to see a financial statement before having sex.

Bill, if that is you honking the god-damned horn outside, please stop!

    • zhera

Hey BillBear, you’ve been in charge of the list of Floridians. Have they all checked in here?

      • billbear1961

I haven’t seen–and no one has told me THEY have seen–Eddi or Schlukitz.

TimCA added three people to the list AFTER the storm, but I can’t find THAT list with their names on it.

There was a Karen and two men, one I didn’t know, who hasn’t posted in a long time, Tim said.

Everyone else is accounted for, 13 out of 18 members,

        • TuuxKabin

Eddi commented in the Chuck Schumer thread.

          • billbear1961

            Good!

I hope we see Schlukitz soon.

I don’t think Karen posts a lot–her name is followed by 3 capital letters, which I can’t recall–and Tim said one of the guys hasn’t posted in some time.

          • TuuxKabin

Karen something, something, FAITH? I’ve seen her as well. If were talking about the same.

Skillful handling of Rachel’s “Comey question.”

  • Lazycrockett
    • Treant

I wish they could take photos on the way in, but…once they hit the atmosphere, there’s too little time left, the flame cuts communications, and the aliens will block us anyway.

      🙂

      • Lazycrockett

Everything was taking pics, collecting data etc till the pressure trashed everything on its descent.

      • Lazycrockett

Would there be flames? Seriously Saturn has very little Oxygen in its atmosphere. hmmmm

        • Treant

Incandescent gas, absolutely. Some flame as the oxides release oxygen in the heat via dissociation, then it burns with the hydrogen.

Really, re-entering spacecraft are surrounded by the same on Earth; even with oxygen, nothing’s burning. That would be bad, although some oxygen may form NOx compounds due to the heat of re-entry itself.

      • -M-

The drag will overwhelm its ability to keep the transmitter pointed toward Earth first.

    • DaddyRay

Really Great – Hillary should have done more interviews with Rachel during the campaign

      • another_steve

Unlike an asshole like Chris Matthews, Rachel knows how to interview. She doesn’t step all over the interviewee’s answers.

  • SoCalGal20

Hillary and Howard Dean working together!!!!

    • DaddyRay

That really gave me hope for the future

      • SoCalGal20

        Me too!

    • Lazycrockett

They will make an awesome team. Specially once Bernie is dead.

      • SoCalGal20

I hope they go on tour!

    • houstonray

That was a great little tidbit. It gives me hope!!!

      • SoCalGal20

        Yes!!!

    • Bryan

      Maybe revisit a 50-state strategy?

      • Lazycrockett

Howard will always been a 50 stater.

    • UrsusArctos

That SQUEE!11!! you heard was me. Of all of HRC’s qualities I have liked it is pragmatism. This is pretty close to a “mea culpa” if it’s for real. IF she’s actually working with Howard Dean, as opposed to co-opting him as they did before, it is a great thing. It is also a start on repairing the damage she/Bill/DC leadership did by playing “triangulation” and “Blue Dog / Corporatist / GOP-lite” for years. I told our Blue Dog congressman his days were numbered because a real GOPer would stand up and he would be gone. Next cycle a TeaHadi took him out.

    • Treant

Music and images could, theoretically, open up the mind. Can’t have that.

      • billbear1961

Yes, it might inspire them AWAY from their backwards HATREDS!

    • Cuberly

More difficult for bots to curate.

I wager 80% of their comment threads are bot traffic. It’s always in a continuous thread, short sentences.

      • billbear1961

It’s a nonstop waterfall of short carping.

        • Cuberly

          It really is.

I never see that sort of commenting at any other site.

          • billbear1961

Many of the threads are ENDLESS.

          • Cuberly

And quite literally, seconds within an article being posted you’ll see the threads startup. And there’s no way the article was even read to begin with.

The live commenters typically just react to the headlines. As is obvious from their comments.

      • Treant

        No really?

        • Cuberly

Yep….that’s sort of the look and feel. Maybe a few more words..lol….

      • Treant

        Are you sure?

      • Treant

        I agree!

      • Treant

        Trump is wonderful!

      • billbear1961

Try posting Toby Keith or Charlie Daniels.

      I know – you’re going “who?”

      • billbear1961

Well, I recognized the first name, and the second sounds familiar.

  • DaddyRay

I have watched a couple of these interviews that Hillary has done and I think tonight was the best of all of them

OT: So what is it with the mostly-vegetarian diet? (I had about 3 oz of ham today and you’ll have to pry that from my cold, dead hands).

I’ve had a grand total of barely 1,000 calories so far today and I’m absolutely stuffed. I finally had to throw down enough almonds to make up the deficit or risk going into starvation mode. But seriously, I find this to be easy and effective, and I don’t really miss anything because I’m completely allowed to have small amounts of it.

My sense of taste is changing, too. Processed food doesn’t taste that great any more, while bread’s picked up a ton of subtle undertones I never noticed before.

    • fuzzybits

I know some people say we have absolutely no need for grains in our diet. But I can’t imagine a world without pasta.

      • Treant

Yeah, screw that. I’m gonna have my spaghetti and bread. I’m just going to have less of it a little less often, and without so much sauce.

(Strangely, my eternal gastritis isn’t bothering me much now either. It’s like my own stomach was trying to tell me something…which it probably was).

  • That_Looks_Delicious

It was a cry for help!!!!!!! The Deep State has gotten him, oh the humanity.

    • Natty Enquirer

You lost me at “Alex Jones says.”

  • Ninja0980

The only gripe I have with Rachel’s interview (unless I missed it) was Hillary not talking about the impact of Scalia’s death on the election.
Make no mistake, for so many Republicans, this race was about SCOTUS and only SCOTUS.
If he had died two year earlier when Obama could have replaced him, we’d be saying Madame President.
Our side has to start caring about the courts the way Republicans do if we want to win,we just have to.

    • That_Looks_Delicious

According to the Constitution, Obama *should* have been able to replace him when he did die. That’s what ought to be the scandal, that the Senate Dems let the McConnell roll them like that.

      • Ninja0980

Not to mention how Republicans only confirmed 22 judges to the lower courts in his last two years in office, the lowest number since Eisenhower.

      • Lazycrockett

Yeah that’s Obama’s wheelhouse not Hillary’s. Though McConnell would have tried to block a nomination if it was Hillary’s anyway.

      • Natty Enquirer

Unfortunately, the Constitution also says the President needs the consent of the Senate and doesn’t say what are proper grounds for withholding consent. It was a dirty trick, but within the Senate’s constitutional power.

        • The_Wretched

I’m of the contrary opinion where the Senate had an affirmative duty to hold hearings and vote on the appointee. The framers were careful with mandatory vs optional language and the Senate (by which I mean McConnell) couldn’t choose to skip it.

So far as it was skipped, the Dems should have fought. I don’t care how but fought. One way would have been to deem the Senate as having chosen to forego it’s role as ‘assent by silence’ and sat Garland. Let the R sue it. but nooo, they didn’t want an interesting race not roll a single die and they paid for it.

I heard New York was working on something similar. That said, we need some states that went for Trump to do the same.

      • Ninja0980

Our Republican controlled Senate (only because of DINOS) will never let that happen.

      • zhera

Don’t they have to run in all states in order to run for President?

        • LesbianTippingHabits

Well, each state has its own standards to appear on the ballot.

        • Todd20036

Technically no. In fact, many mini parties run candidates who on on the ballot in only some states

      • LesbianTippingHabits

New York State Senator Brad Hoylman (D, Manhattan) has made such a proposal.

        https://www.nysenate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/brad-hoylman/hoylman-forces-ny-state-senate-vote-trumps-taxes

Of course, if he also required that Presidential candidates provide their birth certificates – call Trump’s bluff – he would have an excellent claim to bipartisan support.

That is, of course, if Trumpets are not hypocrites.

It appears in many cases it’s all just $$ now, big piles of it, chasing nonsense that nobody asked for (e.g. self-driving cars – omg don’t get me started at the folly, sheer pointlessness, and unworkability) – basically we’ve got software (and it’s ever more crap software) in charge of humans now, literally making humans now cheerlead and lobby for ever greater software powers in our lives –

Meanwhile, why didn’t any of our myriad, zillion-dollar intelligence agencies do anything to stop Russia from waltzing right into our Executive Branch and installing a bunch of bought criminal flunkies? It blows my mind that this question is not asked at all. It’s as if the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor and the national response was “oh well. golly. shrug.” If fucking that.

The GOP limbo stick, held by the likes of the Kochs etc…has no bottom. The Kochs think of the modern era as being lacking, while they pine for a time when they could be the Hearsts or the Carnegies. Rather stuffy Victorian sensibilities that just don’t work any more.

Isn’t it frustrating that a lot of trump’s followers acknowledge the fact that wealth doesn’t represent inherent capability? They do hate that wall street…but alas, the subscribe great capability to Donnnie. Which is demonstrably lacking.

Get ready for “Free Speech” (ie Bigot) Week at Berkeley starting on Sept. 24. If you thought it was only going to be Milo, Bannon, and Coulter…nope!

A veritable who’s who of far-right rock stars such as Pamela Geller, Mike Cernovich and Erik Prince are slated to join Milo Yiannopoulos, Ann Coulter and former White House strategist Stephen K. Bannon at UC Berkeley later this month for “Free Speech Week,” event organizers say.

The lineup’s release Thursday comes as university officials say student organizers have failed to provide the paperwork necessary for the event to go forward. Past events featuring planned appearances by Yiannopoulos and Coulter have been marred by violence from demonstrators.

The upcoming appearances of Bannon, Yiannopoulos and Coulter have previously been reported. On Thursday however, Yiannopoulos’ company announced an expanded roster of speakers for the multi-day event, which starts Sept. 24. More guests will be revealed in the coming days, Yiannopoulos said.

You’re overthinking. So do I. I recommend lots of booze, followed by some pot, staying up 24 hours straight, and then reflect.

Schumer and Pelosi talk about stuff he can understand, like boobs and finger-painting. They compliment his clothing and choice of decor. They suck up. There’s nothing deeper there, and it’s actually enough for Donnie to abandon all of his “professed principles” and do whatever they want because they’re nice to him and talk about stuff.

It can turn on a dime if either is caught in public criticizing him. Hence, they won’t–which will piss off the Bernie Bros who don’t understand politics.

Don’t look at the public statements. Take note of the 10″ butcher knife Schumer has behind his back. And he’s not only unafraid to use it, it’s already in the air.

This is why I never understood the tiny nations standing up. They are still dependent on their colonial powers for aid and finance after disasters. Yes, colonialism is horrible, but walking away from dependencies isn’t too good for those colonies either. It lets the colonial powers off the hook for cleaning up the economic and political messes they created.

  • Ninja0980

O/T but my folks will be going on a trip next week which means we’ll have their dog at our house (not an issue) and have to go to their house to feed their cat.
That demonic furball is already plotting my demise so any good thoughts are appreciated.

    • safari

Don’t get trapped in the basement by the cat like my grandmother did with my parents’ cat.

      • Ninja0980

        That will never happen.
The only good thing about Molly is she knows that if she claws me etc., she will face the wraith of the can with coins in it.

      • Sam_Handwich

did the cat have a gun?

        • safari

She stood at the top of the stairs and hissed. My grandmother was intimidated. Typically my parents would come home to a pile of bloody kleenex on the table to let my mother know what the cat had done to her.

          • Sam_Handwich

well that’s a little odd. normal cats just hide under the bed for the night if they don’t like their human company.

          • safari

It’s part my grandmother’s fault. Like Charlie Brown and the football, the cat would be nice to her just long enough to let her get a few pets in before the fangs came out. That cat was kind of a bitch.

          • greenmanTN

Two words. Squirt Gun. Doesn’t hurt them but trains them quickly. That’s why my cats never get on my kitchen counters (when I’m there).

          • safari

My grandmother’s current cat likes to get sprayed. He also likes the vacuum cleaner. He also likes operating their answering machine (he’s found of the greeting), turning on ceiling fans, disconnecting their tv, and shutting off their furnace (they have a switch for that).

      • Ninja0980

The thing that has angered me is that from the start, he straight out lied about when he fully supported marriage equality etc. for us.
Obama and the Clintons weren’t perfect but they took a hell of a lot more risks then St. Bernie ever did.
When the fight in Vermont over equality was going on, Bernie was no where to be found.
Same in MA when they asked for his help to stop a marriage ban from getting on the ballot.
And when he ran for Senate in 2006, he made it clear on his website (the same one he bragged about voting yes on the 94 crime bill on), that civil unions are something we had and should accept.
And yet that meant nothing to the Bernie bots, just like Trump’s lies don’t matter to his supporters either.
I loathe them both, I truly do.

i don’t know if there’s an answer for this question, but what would “medicare for all” cost vs our current trajectory?

    • safari

And yet other nations have this

    • DaddyRay

There is a difference between medicare & medicaid

    • Treant

We could, plenty of countries do. But we’re currently locked into a condition where we can’t raise taxes with the current “president” and Congress, and are equally unable to make plans to account for hundreds of thousands of unemployed insurance agents, benefits coordinators, people hired to say “no” to lifesaving surgery, and so on.

Plus, done all at once, welcome to the biggest boondoggle you ever saw. We’re going to have to phase this in to give the Medicare folks time to ramp up and expand intelligently as opposed to growing like the Blob to no great effect.

You can’t just dump some stupid bill on the nation and say, “We’ll figure out how to pay for it and implement it later.” Because no, you won’t do that in any controlled manner. It needs to be up-front.

It was because of this, earlier in the day…
Ex-CIA Director Resigns From Harvard Over Chelsea Manning Hire
      https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/ex-cia-boss-resigns-harvard-after-chelsea-manning-hire-n801341

Former CIA Acting Director Michael Morell announced his resignation Thursday as a senior fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government over its hiring of Chelsea Manning as a visiting fellow.

“Unfortunately, I cannot be part of an organization — the Kennedy School — that honors a convicted felon and leaker of classified information, Ms. Chelsea Manning, by inviting her to be a Visiting Fellow at the Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics,” Morell wrote in a letter to the school’s dean, Douglas Elmendorf.

“Ms. Manning was found guilty of 17 serious crimes, including six counts of espionage, for leaking hundreds of thousands of classified documents to Wikileaks, an entity that CIA Director Mike Pompeo says operates like an adversarial foreign intelligence service,” Morell wrote.

Personally, I will always remember Chelsea for the sacrifice of her freedom to reveal America’s sins of war… Without her, we would never have definitively known that our military kills journalists… Or farmers in their fields… Of course she had to break several protocols to reveal truths about our Government, I recognize that.

    • JCF

Just saw this. Here’s what chaps my ass:

“As an Army private first class named Bradley Manning, she was convicted
of espionage and sentenced to 35 years in prison for providing thousands
of classified documents to WikiLeaks, which Pompeo and Morell
characterized as “an adversarial foreign intelligence service.”

Well then, I guess Morell and (particularly) Pompeo will have NOTHING to do w/ this guy then:

    • Treant

It’s dead in the water anyway and very little other than grandstanding and an attempt to keep his name in the news.

Yeah, yeah, should be talked about, etc., etc., and so on. Sorry, kids, but we got much bigger things to be worried about and this isn’t blipping on my radar because it’s going nowhere–by design.

    • Max_1

Scoring a major bill like health care is a necessary thing to do… It will affect all of us. We need to know what it’ll do… Bottom line numbers.

Somehow, Republicans don’t/ever think their’s should be, ever. Odd, NO?

    • DaddyRay

Be careful what you ask for – when you remove the for profit healthcare profitieers you may be surprised how much the savings may be. What it will do to the economy to put those for profit companies out of business and the reduction in pay for doctors, hospitals and big pharma will be interesting to see how the CBO might handle that

      • Sam_Handwich

that’s why a “robust public option”, as Obama wanted, would be a better vehicle to transitioning our current system. of course it would also help if the Jesus states would enact the medicaid expansion.

i don’t know how Sanders’ bill handles this aspect.

        • DaddyRay

I welcome seeing the score as it may provide some much needed clarification to the debate

          • Lazycrockett

But how can there be a score when the bill has no provisions on how to pay for it?? This makes absolutely no sense.

          • DaddyRay

We are talking about Sanders so you just tax the 1%

          • Sam_Handwich

            i’m down with that

          • DaddyRay

So am I but we all know it ain’t gonna happen unless we flip the House and Senate and impeach the POTUS and VP

            one can dream

          • Max_1

One can make dreams into realities, too…

          • Reality.Bites

            Not Bernie’s dreams.

          • safari

            My dear, it is 2017.

          • DaddyRay

There will be considerable savings to the Government cutting out the for profit health care companies but there is also an economic impact as currently healthcare is a third of our economy so putting all of those people out of work and reductions to income and spending will have a pretty significant impact – that is why it will be interesting to see how the CBO will score it

          • Lazycrockett

But that is not what the CBO does. It takes a bill, crunches the numbers and releases them. There is no numbers to be crunched in this bill.

          • DaddyRay

Agreed, that is a problem – if it is going to be proposed then it needs to have the numbers to be taken seriously

          • Lazycrockett

Thanks I kept thinking I was missing something.

          • DaddyRay

No, I finally got what you were trying to say. It is a disservice to rational debate not to include the numbers. We all know if medicare for all was to be put in place it will require tax increases and to not include that in the proposal means it is not serious. I still want to see the CBO response

          • Max_1

Imagine all the savings practices will have, no longer fighting
the “middle men” on prescribed treatments for patients… etc.

          • Sam_Handwich

there is a cost aspect regardless of the funding question

      • Cackalaquiano

I don’t know that all potential models show much of a reduction in pay for doctors and hospitals. (Admittedly I know virtually nothing on this, but if ignorant conservatives can spew opinions with no knowledge, so can I, right?)
