Alabama’s Largest Paper Issues Blistering Attack On Roy Moore: Look At How Much He Hates LGBTs [VIDEO]

Last night the Birmingham News, Alabama’s largest newspaper, posted a blistering video attack on Roy Moore which compares him to notorious racist George Wallace and ticks off some of Moore’s nastiest attacks on LGBT Americans.

The video’s narrator, columnist Kyle Whitmire, flatly declares, “Roy Moore hates gay people and it’s worth taking a moment to see how much.” Whitmire then ticks off some of Moore’s most infamous attacks on LGBT families and notes that Moore himself recently compared himself to Vladimir Putin.

Watch every minute of the clip below. Later this month Moore faces Sen. Luther Strange in the Republican primary runoff and he’s expected to win.

    Moore is Less

    • Ernest Endevor

Come here and let me smack you.

    • JCF

      …than human.

  • liondon#iamnotatraitor

Sounds like a closet case to me….

    • greenmanTN

      *shudder*

      • Silver Badger

I hear you! If Roy is a closet case, he needs to nail the door shut from the inside.

  • bkmn

Screwing over gay people is more important to him than his own drug addict son.

    • Todd20036

It’s even more important to him than obeying the law.

    • Statistics Palin

Now, I’m sure Roy Moore takes time to fuck all of his kids.

  • Tawreos

I wouldn’t be surprised if Moore makes this into a campaign video for himself and gets elected in a landslide because he knows what Alabamans want.

    • We have a winner!
That’s *exactly* what he’s going to do.
      And yes, he will win.
(stand proud on your bigotry, Alabama.)

      • Butch

You both saved me the trouble….I was thinking exactly the same thing.

        • justmeeeee

Can we build a wall to keep them away from the rest of us?

          • greenmanTN

If we make make them pay for it it will be made of mud and straw.

Should make the state ineligible for federal benefits… if that kind of thing existed in the USA…

      • Ernest Endevor

34.9% of AL’s economy comes from federal dollars, aka my income tax.

    • Harley

Me thinks he doth protest TOO much. Sounds like someone is still firmly in the closet.

  • Leo

The majority of the people in the state that need to see this aren’t online much or are in their own media ecosystems. Nevermind bothering to reach those that see Moore’s bigotry as a feature, not a bug.

When, not if, but when Moore wins the general it’ll take another lawsuit for some sort of ethics violation he’ll inevitably get himself involved in to bring him down, for what, the…third time?

    • another_steve

Theoretically, the progressive community should exercise its economic clout here and say to Alabamians before they vote in the general election: “If you vote in this bigot, this hater, this man who means harm to members of our community, we will boycott your state. You will feel the pain. The decrease in state revenues will mean your taxes will go up.” Etc.

      Theoretically.

I’d be surprised if such a campaign took off.

      • Silver Badger

If Alabama had something to boycott, it could work. Unfortunately, their main exports are bigotry and hatred.

        • Joseph Miceli

Seriously what am I supposed to do avoid Mobile? That comes naturally.

        • Ben in Oakland

Oh, c’mon. They have got a huge industry for stupidity.

        • BudClark

I can’t think of anything but Huntsville and Space Camp.

    • Nowhereman

And what a racket! We subsidize the state, they break the law and lose in court, and then they pay the fines with the money we sent them. Wheels within wheels.

  • Bluto
    • Silver Badger

      That’s just gross.

      • dagobarbz, fine Italian shoes

        Would you prefer press-on nails?

      • Todd20036

Yes it is, but I still laughed.

  • Ninja0980

As I said the other day, hating LGBT people to the point you want them dead is a plus, not a minus in Alabama.

  • Rex

Will further endear him to his base.

  • Jonathan Smith
  • Will Parkinson

This should garner him more votes.

  • Frostbite

So they are pretty much endorsing Moore for 90% of Alabamians..?

  • William

Potential voters might be more offended to know Moore used his power to get his son out of multiple drug and alcohol offenses.

    • Jonathan Smith

no, not really, is that not what a loving (hate filled) Daddy does for his boy?

      • Ann Kah

He was supposed to stone his son, wasn’t he? I mean, isn’t that what the I’ve-only-read-one-book gang recommend?

    • bambinoitaliano

I’m not sure how many Alabamians are offended by that. They are more afraid of imaginary threat than the real one.

  • justmeeeee

    Still…it’s Alabama…watch what happens!

  • bambinoitaliano

Like the sky fairy they subscribe to. LBGT is essentially their satan to take on.

    • Silver Badger

Without a “them” there can’t be an “us”.

      • bambinoitaliano

Parasites come along with the more functional living organism. It’s part of the eco system.

  • Texndoc

Like Michael Moore said about Trump (and was 100% correct) he’s a living breathing “FUCKU!” to politics as usual. Was just reading about a rap video on YouTube where a white child is brought up on stage and literally hanged from a noose and YouTube won’t take it down. FoxNews and Drudge will be all over it. What a viral gift to the right.

  • Mark

Someone with that much hate inside has to be a self-loathing closet case.

    • 2guysnamedjoe

Not necessarily. Moore just knows the line of goods his customers will buy

    • kat

      Or a Christian.

      • Mark

I have no use for christians. Any of them….

    • bambinoitaliano

The classic definition of human emotions are : anger, disgust, fear, happiness, sadness and surprise. Only one out of 6 is positive. The surprise can go either way. The other 4 are negatives. You don’t have to wonder why religions are selling like hotcakes. The Steve Jobs of religion tab into that psyche centuries ago and turn most of us into emotion junkies. The addiction is real. The symptoms are the same if you are familiar with substance abusers.

OT. Laura Rozen reporting from her sources that conservative think tanks that pushed Iraq are starting serious contingency planning for all-out war with North Korea to save the Trump presidency: https://twitter.com/RVAwonk/status/907762067008102402

    • pj

that would be a nuclear war. lets be clear.

      • Silver Badger

The collateral damage would be vast.

        • pj

like to s korea ,china and japan for starters

          • Todd20036

And if we attack first, or are even perceived as attacking first, China will side with NK

          • David L. Caster

            Exactly.

          • JCF

Not sure…but sure AF don’t want to find out!

    • Ken M

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/09/13/watch-south-koreas-new-taurus-cruise-missile-hits-target-stark/ Seems SK isn’t as hopeless as we’re led to believe. They have German missiles. Read and watch for updated news.

    • bambinoitaliano

You can’t bomb North Korea without major damaged being done to South Korea and Japan. I still cannot imagine China is sitting idly without a plan. Unless a new tech of nuclear bomb was invented that only take out a specific size on a geographic area. The fall out will drag the Asians countries never mind the ripple effect to the rest of the world. Don’t forget other hostile countries like the triad of enemies among Pakistan, India and China are just waiting for the opportune time to strike at each other. Time to stash cash under my pillow.

    • worstcultever

NK is not helpless little pushover Iraq (the only kind of target we’ll actually go after). There is NO military scenario against NK that doesn’t blow up the fucking world and these thinktank masturbators know it. Then again, the USA is at Peak Stupid, so there’s that.

    • kareemachan

Do they know the level of crazy they’d be dealing with?

    • Nowhereman

I was born during the last Korean War. I’d really rather not die in the next one.

  • j.martindale
    • worstcultever

Yet he’s a devoted Catholic. Go figure. I’m also pissed at him for trashing Hillary during the election.

      • Natty Enquirer

Hypocrisy is second nature to a Catholic.

        • Macbill

          Unlike all other religions. /s

      • FredDorner

Colbert is a social justice Catholic. They’ve always been on the good side of most issues.

        • prixator

Except on supporting the r.c. church.

      • JCF

He certainly poked fun at her, but I don’t know I’d call it “trashing” her.

  • worstcultever

What about the Dem guy, Doug Jones? I saw a poll the other day where he’s actually competitive. FUCK these neanderthals and their $$ megaphone – even some of the Dumpy Jonestowners are having buyers’ remorse and Jones is a very fucking solid candidate. Turnout, turnout, turnout!

  • Ken M

Trump has voiced (and on Twitter) his support for Strange. Two questions – why?, and why isn’t that enough? Final numbers gave Moore, 39%, to Strange’s 32%. Another 20% went to a 3rd GOP candidate. It’ not over yet.

  • Stev84

The problem with that is that most Alabamans will love him even more for that

  • LovesIrony

Hate today, hate tomorrow, hate forever

    • Nowhereman

      Is that you, Mr. Wallace?

  • olandp

This just makes him more attractive to his mouth breathing inbred followers.

  • Michael R

Why all the hate Nancy ?

  • Ben in Oakland

Some people will see that as a benefit, not a debit.

In any case, it doesn’t really matter which bigot is voted in.

    • Cipher

It wasn’t on Fox and these voters aren’t going to read, so…. And if they do, he gets more votes for, you know, Jesus.

  • Ann Kah

It won’t make a difference. Every major newspaper in the world recommended the election of Hillary Clinton. Remember how everyone read that and went out and elected her in a landslide?

    Yeah. Me neither.

    • Cipher

It’s a newspaper article. People in AL will read?

  • rednekokie

His description of gay people fits perfectly our description of him

  • Ken M

“Unmentionable” But he mentions us. Why do they always do that?

    • Pip

Right? Gays aren’t worth mentioning… Ever… Unless I’m awake and open my mouth. Then it’s all gays all the time.

  • gyr8or

As former Alabamian, I can fairly confidently say, Roy Moore will be their next senator. Alabama always chooses wrongly, and to the detriment of their own self interest. It why Moore was re-elected after he’d been kicked off the state Supreme Court the first time. I have heard some of my liberal friends in Alabama (they really do exist), that if Moore’s the Republican nominee then it gives them hope that the Democratic candidate – Doug Jones – has a chance to win. I am doubtful, the Democratic party in the South is rightly or wrongly identified as the Black party – it’s all caught up in the racial ugliness that is the South. I have heard people that I grew up admiring say with all seriousness – “I will never vote Democrat”. Also if you look at the numbers in the statewide primary, the votes cast for the Republicans far out number the Democratic votes. There’s an outside chance that it could happen, I suppose, if the Democratic areas (B’ham, Mobile, Huntsville, Montgomery and a sliver of western Alabama called the Black Belt) come out and support Doug Jones, but it’s unlikely, given Alabama’s past.

  • kaydenpat

I assume that Strange is just as homophobic — just more quiet about it.

  • LSMC1987

    Will he be elected Senator?

  • Projecting much, Moore?

  • That_Looks_Delicious

It’s all about “preserving their history and culture,” dontcha know.

  • JWC

Alabama needs housecleaning in the worst way

  • Richard B

This poor impoverished state ranks at the bottom of every single quality of life measurement in the country and instead of bettering themselves, the citizens there compensate for it by promoting white male Christian bigots to office.
The state is infamous for its George Wallace, Jeff Sessions an Roy Moore wannabes.
The white folks in Alabama seem to accept and rationalize their states lowly status by ranking themselves as moral superiors in comparison what they see as inferior black folk or the immoral unacceptable queers.

    • Gregory Peterson

Hey…us New Mexicans (and Mississippi) object to that…sigh.

However, at least we don’t have a “white” with a capital “W” You better believe WHITE!! majority here.

  • Secure

Ass-backward state will elect this Jesus-freak bigot with zero brains, whose own son has been arrested eight times. Just wait until he speaks up in the U.S. Senate, and all of America hears how fucking nuts he is. Even Trump endorsed his opponent.

  • StraightGrandmother

“Him and the horse he rode in on,”
    ha-ha-ha that was funny.

  • FredDorner

I like how Roy Moore copyrighted his boat anchor of Christianity’s Top Ten Sharia Laws.

  • Gregory Peterson

Knowing the bigot mindset, they’ll read this as an endorsement.

  • TheSeer

He is gay. For some people it becomes more obvious when they grow older, but for him it was more obvious when he was younger.
