White House Suggests Prosecuting Comey: It’s The Job Of The DOJ And They Should Look At Doing It [VIDEO]

Raw Story reports:

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Tuesday said repeated her criticism of former FBI director James Comey. She also said the Department of Justice should consider prosecuting him.

“I think everyone knows where the president stands on that issue. The president is proud of the decision he made. The president was 100 percent right in firing James Comey. He knew at the time that it could be bad for him politically, but he also knew and felt he had an obligation to do what was right.”

Sanders accused Comey of leaking government information and potentially illegal behavior. She was asked the White House wanted to see Comey prosecuted for his alleged illegal behavior. “That’s not the president’s role,” Sanders replied. “That’s the job of the Department of Justice — and something they should certainly look at.”

  • Ninja0980

So Comey, was it still worth putting your thumb on the scale the way you did last Fall?

    • another_steve

That was shameful, but one senses that his most recent congressional testimony was forthright and truthful.

Similar to when Hillary Clinton submitted to that grueling day-long congressional hearing, you had the sense you were listening to truth and not bullshit.

  • Tiger Quinn

Trump’s got to create a narrative that Sessions isn’t doing his job – this is the beginning of that – so he can fire him and replace him with Gowdy.

Important to note that Comey did not release anything confidential. They want to prosecute because he embarrassed Trump. Sleep well, citizens.

      Please continue, Trump regime……
Intimidation of FBI officials ain’t gonna go down well in US Intelligence circles. I’m sure if the DOJ comes after Comey, it will backfire…bigly. One can only hazard to guess how much dirt the US Intelligence agencies have on the KKKeebler Elf, alone.

      • The_Wretched

So far, the leaks are very TrumpRussia centric. I’m not sure the intel community cares much about racism.

        • Uncle Mark

No…but they do tend to look after their own. (i.e. Notice all the leaking that started once Comey was unceremoniously shitcanned?) Sessions is a spineless chickenshit, like all his white-supremist/nazi/KKK brethren. I wonder if he will find some reason to “recuse” himself…throwing some stooge out there to do his dirty work? If so, I doubt the IAs will stop at just investigating & leaking information about the stooge. Let’s see if Sessions is stupid enough to proceed with this.

Who is the reporter that asked the question, and why?

Granted, I haven’t been following every tributary of the shits creek that gushes through the WH, but this is the first time I’ve heard anything about prosecuting Comey.

Was this question pre-planned, so that Miss Hucksterbee could put it out there that shitgibbon wants to go after Comey?

    • The_Wretched

Why didn’t she pull out the “that touches on on-going litigation so I’m not commenting”?

Because, undoubtedly among many other factors, she and those around her are far too inexperienced to know that such a sentence is even feasible.

Was Sarah directed by Trump to smear Comey? Is this part of the apparently endless Obstruction of Justice problem Trump has?

Newsflash, Ms Sanders: the DOJ is not POTUS’ hit squad.

  • RoverSerton

Just a thought but Trump’s DOJ should be very cautious of making a precedent of prosecuting people out of government i.e. Comey and Hillary. Does DJT want DOJ looking at him years after he is out of office? Sessions? Tillerson?

    • Tomcat

I want them looking very carefully at him once out.Take his fortune.

      • RoverSerton

I don’t want us to get his fortune, he’s broke. I would like to see him lose his freedom. Prison, but it would be a bad banana republic kind of thing to do to a person out of government. I think justice calls for Bush/Cheney to go to prison for war crimes but DJT is just a common criminal. Embarrass and move on.

Feed occasionally to raise “blooms prettily” to “blooms like flowers are going out of style.” No major pests, but anti-fungal treatments may be required in wet summers and if plants are planted too close together or watered at night.

This photo is from later in the season, so things are frowsier and blooming is already statrting to slow down. The reds are zinnia, the orange and white are puffball marigold.

These are great for the on-again-off-again gardener as they’re very forgiving of neglect. Marigolds are as well, once established. Petunia aren’t touchy, either.

Some can raise ageratum, some can’t (I can, it’s the low blue flower that shows up everywhere in the garden). If you can, it’s another that’s incredibly durable–I raise it by the side of the driveway, which regularly hits 130 degrees.

I’ll trade you mine. All he ever does is work in the garden.

Maybe you just need to learn to pose as a lawn ornament?

Zinnias are one of my favorite flowers. They’re so dependable.

maybe people are wondering how likely a flu bug is this year.

They’re deadly for seniors, so a virulent flu is to be wondered about…

I’m sure if this “president” could have his way, anyone impeding the path to absolute power would be jailed.

      The rest would be pardoned.

Let’s see, James Comey’s FBI begins investigating Donald Trump for allegedly laundering tens of millions of dollars illegally for the Russians and then colluded with our enemy adversary to usurp the will of the American people to become POTUS. Trump obstructed justice by firing America’s chief law enforcement official for looking into this activity and Trump’s slimy surrogate, Sarah Huckabee Sanders has the audacity to deflect the public’s attention from Donald Trump’s crimes to slander the honorable James Comey and pretend he broke the law when Comey made sure there were clues left behind so federal law enforcement officials could pick up the investigation of significant state crimes committed by the current sitting POTUS.

    • Reality.Bites

I long for the forthrightness of the Nixon White House.

    • Ben in Oakland

Assuming that coney us honorable. I’m not so sure.

  • Mb

This is not a surprise to me as it was only a couple of days ago that Bannon said that the greatest political mistake in modern times was
Trump firing Comey. It is such an obvious attempt to change that negative narrative from his own former campaign manager and advisor. We know he is severely allergic to humility and admitting a mistake (thanks to his mentor Roy Cohn), I can’t imagine the adverse reaction he would have had to seeing that statement from Bannon. A Mistake! NOT ME!

  • Karl Dubhe

When in a hole, keep on digging. That’s the ticket!

Even if (which is very unlikely) he’s guilty of everything they accuse him of, Trump still obstructed justice when he fired him.

Hucksterbee Sanders Sarah Kkkunt wrap her brain around Kkkristian white ‘prerogative’ as an evil corruption that puts you into bed with the Devil a.k.a. Satan and therefore eternal Damnation and Hellfire.

But Sarah, … burn baby burn. … You WICKED B.E.O.T.C.H. … Some one will throw a bucket of aqua your way I am sure. Yer welcome gurrrrrrl.

    • Mike_in_the_Tundra

      She’ll melt.

MrFitzroy couldn’t quite place it at first.,,,,but then it clicked. Huckabooboo’s shirt looks exactly like the wallpapering job Lucy and Ethel did in Lucy’s bedroom.

What does your little black book say about lying Sarah? Hhhmmmmm????

  • RaygunsGoZap

I like how she kept insisting that “when there is a suspicion that something illegal occurred, it must be investigated”.

    Sure, Jan.

    • TrollopeReader

Let’s put Sarah H-S before a congressional committee (or Mueller and team) for 11 hours … straight. And then her Daddy.

  • Bad Tom

The White House suggesting a criminal prosecution should be pursued for any of its political enemies is so far out of fucking bounds it should make Richard Milhous Nixon slap the shit outta Trump from beyond the grave.

  • TrollopeReader

    Good Lord, what a Bitch.

  • PBGVNinja

Sarah needs a fashion consultant. Such a frumpy cow. At least, if one is going to be a shill for DT, one should dress in something a bit classier than a flour sack.

  • Snarkaholic

Are those bizarre stripes there to distract us from the botched job she did on her face? (Pennywise wore it better!)

  • “. . . he also knew and felt he had an obligation to do what was right.”

    That would be a first.

And, good way to make sure Comey spills his guts to a grand jury. Or special prosecutor. Or congressional committee.

  • Billy Goate

Sounds like a case of witness intimidation to me.
