Roger Stone Threatens McCain Over Arpaio Criticism

The Daily Beast reports:

Roger Stone, a close confidant to President Trump and a former adviser to his presidential campaign, threatened Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Saturday over the senator’s objection to the president’s decision to pardon former Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Senator McCain is currently battling an aggressive form of brain cancer. Meanwhile, Stone will reportedly soon be interviewed by the House Intelligence Committee as part of that panel’s investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Earlier this week Stone declared that any member of Congress who votes for impeachment is “putting their own life in danger.”

How much does this guy drink?

    • another_steve

The key is not how much you drink, but whether you’re a good drunk. There are good drunks and there are bad drunks.

My friends tell me I’m a good drunk.

      • Ernest Endevor

I saw this and immediately thought of you. Breitbarters are passing it around. I’ve looked closely and can’t find any evidence of shopping. It looks real to me. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/b2d08fb3a4d8b521817293cd75b28c4433c4af55c36f2f1219ebe3b44b445fda.jpg

I don’t doubt Jared did that himself, as he probably hates being built like a 12 year old.

        • another_steve

Yes, those are Jared’s pecs and abs.

On Friday night, on the Jewish Sabbath, he and I recited a berakhah (a blessing) over them.

          And then I ravished him.

        • RoFaWh

It’s one of those circus side show affairs where you stick your head through a hole and a “funny” photo of you is taken incorporating your head and the image on the other side of the door.

            Nonsense. That’s the real Jared.

Someday – after I replace his brain and perform surgery on his vocal chords to eliminate that horrid mousy-sounding voice of his – it will be all mine.

            The man and his billions.

          • another_steve

            Yes. I’ve thought that through.

I plan on gay-marrying him after I convince him to ditch Ivanka on the grounds that she’s engaged in an incestuous relationship with her father. Among Orthodox Jews like Jared, incestuous relationships with a parent are generally frowned upon.

Then I get him to retitle all his holdings to me in exchange for a minimum of 10 years (not to exceed 15 years) of conjugal visits with him at the federal penitentiary.

          • bzrd

      • RidingTheLine

I bet you are a fun drunk. That’s best kind. I spent a lot of time in my youth playing “straight man” and designated driver to hot, funny drunk friends.

        • another_steve

          Lol. Thanks. 😉

If you think I’m queeny sober, you should see me drunk.

          • RidingTheLine

That’s how I know I am at least a 4 on the Scale. I love the company of a hot fabulous guy, especially if a little boozed up.

          • another_steve

But always avoid the sloppy drunks, RTL. And lord knows, there are lots of sloppy drunks. They “wander,” if you know what I mean.

You’ll be having a nice chat with one at a party and then all of a sudden a new boy in town will stroll by and that’s the end of all meaningful conversation with the wanderer.

          • RidingTheLine

Pretty boys make for nice viewing, but if the personality is equally pretty, then it’s worth being more inclusive. As for me, two drinks or one good double is my limit. I like a little bit of a buzz but not too much. As for other guys, I know how to aim a guy so his punk doesn’t get on me. And I have no problem watching over a friend who’s passed out. The only drunks who turn me off are the ones who get nasty or violent. I abandon ship on that in a heartbeat.

          • another_steve

I have this one friend, John, who’s a martini guy like me. He and I sometimes engage in these little passive-aggressive martini-dare showdowns.

Two are usually my limit. He’ll order a third for himself and look me in the eyes with that “too fairy for it, heh?” look of his. A little like a poker play, the way he does it.

Depends on whether I’ve eaten. If yes, on occasion I’ll do a third – but only if I don’t have to drive afterwards.

          • RidingTheLine

Food makes a big difference on my limit, too. And there’s no such thing as “too fairy” for me. I’m very “Urban Cowboy” in my demeanor but I like guys in all flavors from very macho to flaming flamboyant. Tall, short, lean, chunky, beefy or shredded, it’s the smile and the eyes first. A guy doesn’t have to be out to the world, but he at least needs to be out to himself and okay with that. Everything else is just part of the package.

          • another_steve

“it’s the smile and the eyes first”

I like that, RTL. 😉 You and I share a lot in common, even though our backgrounds are as different as backgrounds can get.

I like to say that everything in life that really matters is an inside job. Meaning, the externals are not determinant. What’s inside – in the brain and in the heart – is what truly counts.

          • RidingTheLine

You can learn to see any good person as “beautiful,” but physically gorgeous people with ugly souls get uglier by every moment exposed to their toxicity. A.A. Milne, author of Winnie the Pooh, wrote a short play called the Ugly Duckling, which is a nice little parody on politics and beauty. When I taught Drama, that little play was something I had students learn and do every few years. Its central theme was about how true beauty emanates from within. As to my tastes in men, there are few physically and mentally healthy men who do not catch my eye. If a guy likes himself and is kind to others, he will almost certainly catch my eye.

          • another_steve

It can be a challenge for gorgeous guys in the gay community to maintain their stability and their wits. Their sense of balance. Anyone who’s been there knows this to be true.

Objectification is a thing among men. Not all men, but many men. Straight/bi men often objectify physically beautiful women. Gay/bi men do the same with respect to physically beautiful men.

I don’t consider it a flaw, this tendency of ours to objectify. Anything that comes naturally to us – in an unrehearsed and uncontrived manner – belongs. Emphasis on “naturally.”

            Imo.

          • RidingTheLine

Agreed. Guys are visually oriented. I would not claim otherwise. It’s just that I like a wide enough range of guys that it’s hard to pin down a type for me. For me, a guy has to be okay with himself and making an effort to stay fit, whatever his current level of fitness. Everything else is part of the “total package” of the person.

      • Chucktech

I’d love to watch Trump erupt in impotent fury when he discovers he can’t pardon those convicted of state crimes.

      • Pat

This is what I hope is happening. It’s difficult to believe Mueller and NY’s AG Schneiderman aren’t at least a couple of steps ahead of shithead. They know he’s testing the waters for blanket pardons all around and are intelligent enough to have a long game in mind. Bringing in criminal prosecutors who specialize in money laundering, corruption and financial crimes could be a hint about a larger game plan than obstruction or any federal charges he can pardon.

          • FAEN

Grow up? Real president? We’re talking about Trump here. That’s never going to happen.

However, if Twitter band Twitler he’ll play the martyr as will his deplorables. Plus the republicans, even those that dislike him, will be able to turn the page and say “see he’s acting presidential now so voting for this archaic legislation is fine.”

Just my two cents of course.

          • Lars Littlefield

I’m always amused when I hear otherwise well-meaning people think Trump has the capacity to change.

      • Gerry Fisher

        • SoCalGal20

Somebody needs to tell twitter that.

          • another_steve

I vaguely recall that there was a call for Twitter to ban the sexual predator in the White House. You know, the orange one.

I bet you that Twitter has made a billion billion dollars off all the publicity that the orange one has brought them.

            They’re delighted with him.

          • PDQ

No matter how much Twitter “made” off
Trump publicity, they have yet to make an actual profit. At some point, their lack of profitability will bring about change in the company.

          • another_steve

I’m surprised to read in your comment that they’re not yet profitable. I wonder what the cause of that is. My husband and I don’t tweet (we’re possibly the last two people in the known universe who don’t) and I haven’t kept up on the company.

Have they not yet mastered the art of collecting advertising pennies? I imagine if they could rake in one penny for every tweet that’s made, the company would be doing very well indeed.

          • Priya Lynn

For incitement to be a crime, there has to be a likelihood of the inciting words precipitating an “imminent lawless action.”

Brandenburg v. Ohio is the relevant Supreme Court decision.

    • I doubt that either karma or hellfire can be considered a legitimate threat in court. What’s funny about this is that they need his vote to get anything passed. Any sane president would be kissing the asses of McCain, Collins and Murkowski right now. Instead they are threatening and alienating them. Not everyone can be bullied. Most maybe, but not all. McCain has no reason to be afraid of them. Is he even going to seek another term?

    • David L. Caster

Plastic people stink, in addition to emitting toxic fumes, when they burn.

      • Treant

That’s a question. What do crematoriums do?

And is crematoriums the plural, or is it crematoria?

…Merriam-Webster says both are acceptable: “plural crematoriums or crematoria”

        • RoFaWh

“Crematoriums” for those fond of plain English, “crematoria” for those with a fondness for such Latinisms.

          • Treant

So I can expect to be castigated for my grammatical choices for no good reason in the near future. Again. 🙂

          • Adam King

But of course! We’re here to serve all your castigation needs.

          • Treant

(looks you up and down) You, sir, may castigate me any time you wish. For I have been a Very. Bad. Boy.

        • Natty Enquirer

It depends on whether or not you wish to sound insufferably pretentious. If you also say “condominia,” go for it.

          • Treant

Is that the plural of “condom”?

          • Adam King

Ahem. The proper term is “condominatrix.” Stay safe!

          • BobSF_94117

But they’re getting so small, perhaps condominima is more apropos.

        • djcoastermark

I was out of milk this morning so I had to use some old crematoria in my coffee. It didn’t taste good.

          • Treant

I’ve had non-dairy crematoria lying around for at least five years. It’s still OK, but takes longer to dissolve.

          • Natty Enquirer

            You should try CasketMate instead.

          • Reality.Bites

            OT: I can’t stand those non-dairy creamers.

Perhaps in part because of their name in Canada:

            https://i5.walmartimages.ca/images/Large/_81/670/81670.jpg?odnBound=460

Print too small? Here’s a generic.

Seems like you could use chalk to whiten your coffee.

          • Reality.Bites

Or semen. But the semen to coffee ratio would have to be really high.

          • William

            Bukkaffee.

          • agcons

I don’t believe it would taste worse than “non-dairy creamer” (scare quotes entirely intentional).

          • William

Most of that stuff could probably be used to kill roaches.

  • Pat

Do the world a favor, Rog. Don’t look both ways next time you cross the street.

  • The_Wretched

Shouldn’t someone go check on Stone and see what he has to back up his threats?

  • Skeptical_Inquirer

He is so sure of his place in Heaven with the lying and the threatening.

  • Skeptical_Inquirer

As a side note, evangelica missionaries should have this sort of shit thrown in their faces in foreign countries where the people are not white. “Why should I join your cult that worships a men who considers us thieves and criminals while threatening people who disagree with him? Fuck off!”

  • Oscarlating Wildely

So let us recall that this was the presidency of law and order. A respect for the importance of the law, under which all people must follow– apparently accept for family members, friends, hotel associates, and anyone else that can inflate Trump’s ego. We must succumb to the law, but only if it means that we can hate on non-white people in the process. The US must call upon love of each other, exemplified by the calling for the death and damnation of a sitting US Senator, oh, and hating on patriotic Americans who happen to want to sacrifice their trans lives so that Trump is free to hate them and enjoy his bone spurs.

This is the administration and era of this shithead in the White House. “Law and Order– and not the TV show.” You lie.

  • Nowhereman

The Secret Service needs to haul his ass in and sit him down for a long talk in a dank and musty windowless room. He is especially odious.

  • MaryJOGrady

What would one expect from a man who has a big tattoo of his former boss, Richard Nixon, on his back?

    • Pat

I’m sure by now gravity is sending that tattoo closer to his ass, a small comfort but one worth cherishing.

    • Adam King

We’d expect him to be rotting in the grave like he deserves?

    • djcoastermark

Remember kids, this tattoo started out on his neck.

      • ZhyKitty

        LOL

  • Jay Mills

I suppose we will have to get sworn affidavits as in Charlottesville in order to get him arrested for openly making terroristic threats.

  • Adam King

What an irredeemable horror of a creature he is.

    • J Ascher

Cthulhu would recoil in his presence!

      • Natty Enquirer

  • charemor

Another god damned deranged Trump supporter.

  • Dreaming Vertebrate

    • Reality.Bites

Yes, but degenerates associate with other degens by default.

    • Skeptical_Inquirer

I heard psychopaths often reassure each other that their narcissism is perfectly fine as well as their many crimes. Anybody with a conscience seems to have resigned.

    • Todd20036

Because people who learn not to have anything to do with such degenerates won’t work for Trump.

Even big business won’t deal with Trump anymore.

    • Lakeview Bob

      I agree.

I hope you realize that you just called Stone “a form of life.”

There is significant doubt about this among the right-thinking.

Well among other things, he worked at CREEP, Nixon’s Committee to Re-elect the President.

We’re doing well, preparing for my Boo’s arrival back home on Monday. I’ve had to put in some temporary railings in, just in case. As the Doctor said, Esteban seems to have recovered rather well, but with any stroke survivor, you have to still be careful and monitor; there can be lingering issues that don’t present right away. That said, his therapist has been arranged and medications obtained. All in all, the prognosis is very hopeful. Again, although it was a minor stroke, it still must be taken seriously. Hugs.

McCain will “burn in hell for all eternity”? Why, because he just might do the right thing and work to get rid of the worst President and criminal-ridden administration that our nation has ever suffered under? Is this guy religious along with all his other endearing qualities? Does he keep a crystal ball up his ass so it’s always handy for these in depth predictions? On top of his repulsive looks, his attitude and character really drive the revulsion I feel about him.

    • Todd20036

Don’t let these Christianists define your soul, even if right now you’d rather argue there’s no such thing. Take it from someone of entirely other faith…. This bullshit they say has nothing to do with *that* either.

Your soul has nothing to do with their Hells. Any more than your life does.

    • RoFaWh

      It’s fake religion.

      Just another grifter.

    • Reality.Bites

You know if there *were* a hell in which one could burn for all eternity, it would only prove the God is a bigger, more petty, vindictive toddler than Trump.

Which would explain why the same idiots worship them.

      • Friday

The people that preach that ‘jealous God of Hells’ also happen to treat politics the same way. It’s just more obvious lately.

I suggest not believing them about soul *either.*

    • Friday

Key word, ‘might’ …..but Christianists think that’s enough if someone steps out of line.

  • Homo Erectus

THAT’s the kind of payback we’d like to see!

      • LesbianTippingHabits

That is not only karma, but also justice. Thank you.

  • LesbianTippingHabits

Well, the real question re Roger Stone – we haven’t forgotten the scandal way back when, though it’s not really scandalous nowadays – is, how does he tip?

Remember, tips are good karma. And karma never lies.

So please don’t throw around karma unnecessarily.

Only the wait staff knows for sure. Thank you.

    • RoFaWh

Christians are such demented loons that they can only try to extort belief through threats of eternal torture.

  • Adonisus

Roger Stone can be downright terrifying. He’s a real sociopath, a master manipulat

or who lacks scruples or morals of any kind. On the one hand he can come off as somewhat reasonable when talking about the infamous Willie Horton ad (he basically told Lee Atwater it was racist and that Lee and Bush would take it to their graves). Then he does completely insane shit like this.

But the REAL signal that he’s loony? HE WORKED FOR ROY COHN.

Any legal eagles here want to confirm – accepting a pardon effectively means you admit you did what you are being pardoned for, and that you would be open to civil lawsuits for what you did AND you would be forced to testify because you can not claim Fifth Amendment protections for something you admitted you did. Is that right?

    • Skeptical_Inquirer

According to this, that’s what it looks like.

      http://time.com/4868418/donald-trump-presidential-pardons-backfire/

“President Trump is considering pardoning family members and staffers caught up in the Russia investigation, but legal experts warn that it could backfire by making it harder for them to avoid testifying.

Under the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution, Americans are protected
against self-incrimination, but people who have been pardoned are no
longer under any legal jeopardy, Harvard Law School Professor Laurence Tribe told TIME.”Anyone pardoned by Trump would lose most of the 5th Amendment’s protection against compelled testimony that might otherwise have incriminated the pardoned family member or associate, making it much easier for DOJ and Congress to require such individuals to give testimony that could prove highly incriminating to Trump himself,” Tribe said in an email.

      • Treant

Which means the tiny-handed Nazi loser of the popular vote won’t be pardoning anybody any time soon. Except Ivanka, she can be relied upon to perjure herself fully in the Senate.

        Or so he thinks.

        • Skeptical_Inquirer

Trump could try to keep on pardoning them every time his cronies get dinged for contempt of court for refusing to testify according to the article but it looks soooooooo bad. Trump wouldn’t care (though he could rage stroke) but Congress might.

          • Treant

Open contempt of congress may itself be an impeachable offense. 🙂

        • Friday

Since when does he think anything through, even medium-term?

      • bkmn

Thank you. I think the person that I saw make the comment was a student of Tribe’s

      • coram nobis

So if Donald is thinking of pardoning Manafort or Mike Flynn, it means that once they’re pardoned, a court can make them testify. A prosecutor can squeeze them like accordions at that point.

        • UrsusArctos

And they’ll need a second (more) pardon(s) for the perjuries they’ll commit trying to bob/weave to avoid implicating 45*. 45* might as well print those pardons on toilet paper because the pardoned people in these cases are too stupid to shut up and count their blessings having avoided a bullet.

    • houstonray

I saw someone on CNN mention this, and it does mean you are accepting a ‘guilty’ decision and that’s why you can no longer plead the 5th. I don’t remember which legal person brought it up but they were saying that civil crimes are not absolved and then suggested that a civil lawsuit (sort of like what the families brought against OJ) would be much easier to prove guilt because of the pardon since the person being sued could not plead the 5th.

They were discussing Arpaio but not sure if that would apply to Trump’s people too. There was a whole discussion on Federal crimes vs state criminal or civil laws so I’m not sure how that would work.

What a fucking piece of work he is.

  • rednekokie

This jerk is going to find out that it’s not nice, nor profitable to threaten members of the U. S. Congress.

    • Friday

He’s also going to find out it’s not very bright to think he can bluster his way through karma. 🙂

  • stanhope

“Left Behind”. Nicolae Carpathia. We are watching it play out real time. People seem to like to call Trump chump and his associates stupid. There is a vast difference between stupid/crazy and evil. To not know that is perilous.

Interestingly, Christian, karma has nothing to do with your Christian Hell. Also, interestingly, unlike you seem to believe your God can be…. It can’t be fooled by talking points.

Thanks for invoking. Enjoy the accelerated lesson you asked for.

    Bon appetit.

  • Snarky

Remember, it’s the liberals who are intolerant. /s

Glad to know that Roger Stone is so devoted to hindu and buddhist doctrine. Karma is indeed a bitch.

    • Friday

Of course he isn’t. ‘Karma’ isn’t to do with ‘punishment’ never mind the Christian Hell or Devil.

Karma’s a shape of things, like gravity as we experience it.

Notably, unlike the Christian God, it’s not something you can argue with.

Next he’ll be getting a tattoo of donnie on his ass.

  • Palto

What a POS this POS is. Somebody should put him down and be pardoned. That would be true justice.

Tisk tisk mister Stone, Karma is a heathen concept from the Hindu religion. A “good Christian” like yourself shouldn’t be invoking heathen concepts.

  • netxtown

idiot xtian dumbass thinks karma is his to deploy on his terms.

  • Gerry Fisher

I’m no fan of John McCain’s, but McCain looks like a giant when compared with this very, very little man.

  • dagobarbz, fine Italian shoes

Tell that top hat wearing cracker, Karma isn’t Christian. Another loudmouth hooting ignorance.

  • MassageBear

These guys get more and more disgusting, even after you think they can’t sink any further.

Senator John McCain (Democrat-St. Elizabeth’s Insane Asylum), purveyor of the Focus GPS “golden showers” FAKE Russian portfolio, always was a RINO blithering idiot and a scumbag. But now that the Glioblastoma is eating his tiny reptilian brain, he has become a Blithering Blitherer.

I hope that Arizona Governor DUCEY names Sherrif Joe Arpaio to fill McCain’s Senate Seat when McCain dies. But I also hope that DUCEY makes the announcement while McCain is still alive so that we can watch a scumbag like McCain turn purple with rage, curse, sputter incoherence and, if we’re fortunate, watch his empty head explode like in the movie “Scanners.”

  • IF there were a god, you’d be burning right now because he would have taken you out decades ago.
