SWASTIKA CENTERPIECES: Log Cabin Republicans To Hold 40th Anniversary Celebration At Trump Hotel

The Washington Examiner reports:

Former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina is set to deliver the keynote address at a Log Cabin Republicans anniversary celebration next month at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.

The Log Cabin Republicans group represents LGBT conservatives and is celebrating its 40th anniversary on Sept. 27. Mrs. Fiorina lost her bid to unseat then-California Sen. Barbara Boxer in 2010 and also fell short in her bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.

The 62-year-old is now considering running to unseat Sen. Tim Kaine, a Democrat, in Virginia in the 2018 midterm elections, and would have to first get by Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart in the GOP primary race.

  • Charlie 2001

    Isn’t that the definition of a carpet-bagger?

  • vorpal 😼

What exactly do these homocons have to celebrate? Consistent self-loathing?

    • MT YVR

“SHINY THINGS! YAY!” Honestly that’s about what I see now when I imagine them.

That would be the same Carly Fiorina who celebrated Prop 8 and hoped it would be repeated nationwide.
And they are staying at a hotel of a man who has put a judge on a Circuit court who called us faggots and judges who want to overturn all the rights gained and is waging war on the trans community.

I’m fairly sure there’s a ho in there somewhere that’ll be digging, shortly.

      • Todd20036

SO? You really think Trump murdering a hooker would make a dent in his base?

        • MT YVR

          (sigh)

Backhoe to dig down past the bottom. Mixed in with the boys of the Log Cabin pretty much “fuck me daddy”-ing and you have the “I’m fairly sure there’s ho in there somewhere that’ll be digging, shortly” to indicate I assume LC individuals won’t protest any of the present crap but in fact help dig down.

Sorry. I run into this a lot. I carry chalkboards and chalk to explain my jokes because they are funny as HELL in my head. (crickets) But only in my head.

          • Todd20036

            Well, you did misspell “hoe”

        • Uncle Mark

Of course not !! Is he planning on murdering Melania or Ivanka?

This is a very dangerous time. Trump desperately needs to change the subject.

Good lord, no one turn on the flash or we’re all gonna go blind from the reflections from all that white.

    • MT YVR

I can see it now. People are standing around at the end of the day, darkness has fallen across DC and suddenly there’s BRIGHT flash that almost blinds everyone, filling the streets with light. Tourists and newcomers panic, running around screaming that end is here! It’s finally happened!

Instead the old hands at DC are just shaking their heads and keeping on as usual. One finally stops a sobbing couple and pats them, trying to sooth them.

“No, no. It’s ok. It’s just the Republican party taking a pic. Some one left the flash on.”

    • Adonisus

Remember that part in Airplane II where they had to go into hyperspace, and all the passengers suffered a ‘slight metabolic change’ by turning into Dick Nixon clones?

Yeah, that’s what this picture is reminding me of.

Dunno about happy, but the fat and the dumb in FD&H certainly can be traced back to the diet as much as the business model.

I ended a 3 decade friendship because he finally showed his true colors. I tried to rationalize his comments, but the deciding factor was his admitted vote for tRump, his warning that the Muslims are coming to my neighborhood, Hillary belongs in prison, plus a statement that we should each stay on our side of the fence. Fence? Fence? That would be the same as that “fuckin’ wall” as far as I’m concerned. If anyone admits to me today they are a repugnican or they voted for the moron in the white house, it’s buh-bye! Previously being repugnican was not that much of an issue. Now it DEFINITELY is.

OT everyone but my depressed over my skin rash/hives/wtf issue that stumped the docs. Looks like good news. I apparently have an allergy to sulfonamide medications. They did lots of blood work and even a biopsy so I will have a definite answer in a week or so, but the dermatologist is convinced that is the issue. Now I got stuff to fix that and know what med to stop taking.

Oh, and for all the guys in SF. If you need a dermatologist go to Dr. Karls. CUTE!!!

    • -M-

      Yay! Glad for you. πŸ€—

    • Treant

A quick check shows that allergies run at a rate of 3% to sulfonamides, so that’s hardly an unlikely allergy to have!

Me, I’m allergic to the entire cephalosporin group of antibiotics (about 10% of people are). ‘Cept I get anaphylaxis. Which is fun.

      • Rebecca Gardner

My sister just told me she has the exact same medical allergy so I’m thinking that genetically I guess it’s likely I would too. Weird the things that effect our bodies. It really is fascinating.

        • William

My sister and I are both allergic to aspirin. Our mother is allergic to ibuprofen. According to the medical people, if we are allergic to one, we should be allergic to the other. I take ibuprofen, my sister hasn’t tried it. Our mother takes aspirin.

      • William

First generation cephalosporins make me turn bright red and go psychotic. It happens to less than 1% of people. It’s quite fun for others to watch, as long as they remember to duck.

      • Tomcat

Try finding a cure for severe leg cramps top to bottom every night several times a night some night. None of my doctors have a clue.
I have 6 doctors trying things to discover the cause.
Fortunately they go on for a few weeks then go away for a few months then back.
Thankfully I don’t have them now because I have hip and lower back problems for past week.
Taking everything possible and have had ultrasounds, cat scans, etc. They just come and go. When they come back I have to sleep in sweat pants on electric blanket with room at 80 degrees to help stop them. I have even slept with soap onside socks to try and stop this. Have gone to ER once because I was going to commit suicide if they did not stop they hurt so bad. I also almost stabbed a knife into leg once. Suggestions welcome from anyone. No suggestion will be considered stupid.

        • Treant

Potassium, magnesium, sodium, and calcium? All are involved in propagation of nerve impulses.

Also, vitamin B6 and B12, maybe? They’re indicated in nerve regeneration, but usually the supply isn’t a problem if you’re taking a daily multivitamin.

          • Tomcat

Taking everything you mentioned except B6 and B12 will try them next thanks.

          • Treant

Make sure your potassium levels are high enough! Those dumb pills only have 3%; I have to use potassium chloride to get my K levels high enough. I’m eternally low for some unknown reason.

          • Tomcat

By the way, glad you found your answer to your problem.
            May we all do that.

          • Treant

Well, one problem. I go to discuss sinus surgery on Monday. They still have to get my migraine meds right, but things are already better.

          • William

I’ve had two sinus surgeries. Still have a wicked sinus infection. Now the doc said the culture came back as MRSA. The treatment is to take a bunch of antibiotics that don’t work and come back in two months. If the infected snot gets to my lungs, well that doesn’t have a happy ending.

          • Treant

Well, that sounds lovely. Why don’t they put you on an antibiotic that DOES work? Or a sinus rinse that’s an antiseptic instead of an antibacterial?

          • William

The MRSA is resistant to most antibiotics. I am allergic to several classes of antibiotics. The sinuses do not have a stong blood supply, so it is difficult to get enough antibiotics there to kill infection. With chronic sinus infections comes something called a biofilm. It’s sort of like a thick slime that coats all surfaces. The infection lives under the slime, so rinses can’t reach it. Getting rid of the biofilm is not easy. That’s when you get to do sinus rinses with shampoo, or beneficial bacteria ordered from sausage making companies.

I’m looking at other things like having my Immunoglobulin tested. Apparently in people with chronic sinus infections the immunoglobulin levels get low. Another possibility is with bacteriophages. They are used to treat infections, especially antibiotic resistant infections. Currently they are only available in the former Soviet republic of Georgia and Poland. In Georgia, bacteriophages are sold in pharmacies and there are clinics that cater to western patients. In Poland, there is one clinic that treats patients with bacteriophages.

My doctor said I should absolutely go for treatment. The ENT doc has never heard of them. He wants me to sit home and spray shampoo up my nose and take antibiotics that give me explosive diarrhea.

I’m trying to get a friend overseas to get the bacteriophages from Georgia. The company that makes them just launched an English language website, but online ordering isn’t working yet.

          • Ben in Oakland

Beware of sinus surgery. It radically changed my life, and not in a good way.

Soap helps me, but not always. I’ve heard dehydration can trigger leg cramps. Maybe a good stretch and a massage before bed?

        • stevenj

Hip and lower back problems – no cramps. No hip and lower back problems – cramps. Have you tried chiropractic? Or acupuncture? Also wondering if you ride a bike a lot?

        • Ben in Oakland

Are you taking statins? Because I went through hell TWICE with different statins. Much of it was what you described. Even fish oil to combat cholesterol has side effects.

        • Ben in Oakland

          For the cramps. Dark,y magnesium.

    • William

I’ve been allergic to sulfonamides for more than 25 years. Watch out, docs will keep trying to prescribe it even if it is on you list of drug allergies.

    • djcoastermark

That is great news , um sorta . Well, great news the doc figured it out, not that you have a reaction to sulfa drugs. I discovered mine when I was 18 and blew up like the goodyear blimp and turned bloody beet red.

      • Rebecca Gardner

Yup! Welcome to my Hell. Big HUGS for you and your experience with this. It really does suck doesn’t it.

    • zhera

      Wonderful news!

    • DumbHairyApe

Picture of Dr. Karls or it didn’t happen.

    • Ben in Oakland

Do some research on all of your medication. ALL OF THEM.

I developed a heart condition after sinus surgery. My sinuses remained a mess, though they were better than they had been. The heart medication that they prescribed for me have a small side effect and 2% of the people that took it β€” sinusitis. Nobody knew about it. I was wondering why I could barely breathe.

I was also having problems with my inner ear a few months ago. I could not tolerate the steroids and Sudafed regimen that my doctor recommended. He gave me a pill called Singulaire. No side effects, he said. Except for all of the side effects, including diarrhea, gas, depression, muscle pain, and a few others.
