Nazi Rally Attendee Upset At Being Identified As Nazi: I’m Not The Angry Racist In That Photo [VIDEO]

Reno’s CBS affiliate reports:

Thousands gathered to protest in the streets Charlottesville, Virginia Saturday, among them was 20 year-old Reno resident Peter Cvjetanovic. Photos of Cvjetanovic protesting circulated on social media, denouncing Cvjetanovic as a racist.

“I did not expect the photo to be shared as much as it was. I understand the photo has a very negative connotation. But I hope that the people sharing the photo are willing to listen that I’m not the angry racist they see in that photo.”

However Cvjetanovic, a self-proclaimed white nationalist, defends his beliefs. “As a white nationalist, I care for all people. We all deserve a future for our children and for our culture. White nationalists aren’t all hateful; we just want to preserve what we have.”

OT: That statue of Robert E Lee needs to be replaced with a group of statues honouring Heather and other victim’s of Lee’s legacy and Trump’s treason.

    • Skeptical_Inquirer

I’ve heard that in a different state, some petitioned to remove a Confederate statue and replace it with one of the oldest manatee in captivity that had recently died in an accident.

      • Gustav2

I think that was Bradenton Florida. The whole town’s kids grew up visiting that manatee on field trips,

        • twray1974

Lexington, Kentucky is taking down their statues because of Charlottesville.

          • Gustav2

Should a Border State only take down half a statue and leave the other half up? /s

Do you know what he real BS is about all the statues, Ohio is home to Grant and Sherman, pivotal generals who won the war, and they are not on every town square.

The only reason to have Lee, etc. up is intimidation.

And to create a place for pigeons to make poopy.

          • A lot of this crap only went up in the 1960s. It’s not about honoring anyone in the past. It was a statement of racism and segregation. We need the mainstream to call out these lies and this bullshit. Liberals and moderates are way too cautious in calling out racism and that needs to end.

          • Madame B.

It’s been a long time coming in Lexington, though. This wasn’t a snap decision on the part of the mayor, but the events in Charlottesville yesterday hastened his announcement.

    • Reality.Bites

Interesting that over a century before there were cameras capable of taking images of a subject in motion, let any way to rapidly spread those images, the Klan already had the brains to wear hoods.

I hate to say it, but I suspect there is no shortage of employers who would be willing to take him on. Not all racists and Nazis are blue-collar losers, some of them own companies, or are in some other position that allows them to make hiring decisions.

      • stanhope

Non cher, the klan wore hoods because they were/are dickless cowards. Get it right.

        • Word Warrior

          “Non” not a typo? Clever.

          • Chucktech

“Non, cher” is French for “No, dear.”

          • Robincho

Seems like a non cher would be Sonny…

          • northern_neighbour

Yes, but see above “non” the-less, for the double entendre !

          • northern_neighbour

Now I get it! In French non can be rendered as signifying none … as in no dick, therefore dickless as in dickless cowards. Word Warrior is the one being Clever in this instance.

what fun reading these comments! But no, was thinking play on “mon cher,” lol…

      • PRW

The hoods may originally have been more-or-less cosplay; before it got into fighting Reconstruction the Klan was a pseudo-Masonic fraternity.

      • abqdan

Virginia does not allow protestors to cover their faces – they would have, if they could have.

        • Christine CM

Serious question: there are images with Antifa counterprotestors wearing hoodies, bandanas over their mouths, and large sunglasses — standard black bloc attire; is this allowed because it isn’t a full hood or mask (I did notice a distinct lack of Guy Fawkes masks)? Or did someone snap a pic before they were caught?

      • Librarykid

I read an account written by the son of the owner of a shoe store in a small southern town. He said that his father could identify all of the KKK marchers by the shoes they wore which they had purchased from him.

What could possibly be racist about that?

One thing I miss most living here in Chile is cultural diversity. At least in my city, there isn’t a lot of it. Back where I’m from in Canada, the diversity was huge, and I loved the experience of being able to enjoy the food, art, and culture of different countries.

LOL to give you an idea, the “sushi” restaurants here sell strawberry sushi with almonds. It’s actually kind of good, but not much what you think of when you think of sushi.

We also have the weirdest “fusion restaurants.” Down the street from the diplomatic compound is a Mexican – Japanese fusion restaurant. It’s like some drunk person throws two darts at a spinning globe and decides to make a restaurant on the basis of it.

        • stanhope

So this conversation has descended into a discussion of sushi? LOL LOL only in trump’s america can serious shit be so trivialized. You go eat some raw fish for me LOL

I like both Mexican food and Japanese food a lot. I’m just not sure how they fit together. Seems like hammering a puzzle piece where it doesn’t belong. But I actually have heard decent things about the place, so maybe I’ll give it a try sometime :D.

Keep in mind that the citizens of Charlottesville, Virginia were all FOR removing the Confederate statues. That city is about 70 percent white. It is full of educated, sophisticated people of all races. The people who came to protest are not like Charlottesville folk. These are yokels. I am white, too. I am just not a yokel. Let’s not paint with too broad a brush.

          • The Neo-Nazis that showed up were mostly from out of town. Many locals showed up to counter-protest, including a lot of college students.

          • Dom Saunders

You don’t have to go full NALT on us because no one was even saying it was “all” white people who stood for the Nazi rally. If it don’t apply, let it fly.

          • j.martindale

I don’t think it is “full NALT” to say that we need to keep in perspective the size of this fringe group that is inciting racial hatred. These are not a representative group of the population. If we are going to work together to oppose the extremists, we need to respect our allies.

          • Dom Saunders

Okay, but none of what he said was literally about that. So instead of addressing what he actually said, you had to go make it about you because of your own insecurities and inability to address the topic head-on. In other words, yes, you went full NALT.

          • j.martindale

            Whatever you say.

          • Rick Jackson

As an over-educated, native Southerner, raised-on-the-farm Redneck, I am familiar with that broad brush that paints all southerners as backwards, Christianist conservatives. Interestingly much like racism, when the intent is not to offend, the person making the comment, no matter how offensive, if you try to point out what is offensive, will insist it is your problem.

        • There’s Spanish-Chinese in NYC, but I think those are run by Cuban-Chinese immigrants.

          https://www.villagevoice.com/2014/10/20/the-definitive-guide-to-nycs-chinese-latin-american-restaurants/

It’s good, though. (There are also places called Fresco Tortilla that are run by Chinese people. They make their own tortillas and marinate the fajita meat so it’s good even though it seems a little odd.)

          • Galvestonian

Many times while waiting for my take out order at Chinese Restaurants, I’ve noticed that the kitchen help is Spanish … maybe this is where the Chinese/Spanish fusion Restaurants got their start.

          • vorpal 😼

Here, many of the Chinese restaurants ARE actually owned by Cantonese Chinese. It’s one of the few places you can go to meet Chinese people. Unfortunately, my four years of studying Mandarin doesn’t get me very far, so we have to bumble through Spanish together to get an order in place :D.

That being said, Chilean Chinese food is… an experience. It is nothing like what you’d find in the US or Canada. We have spring rolls with ham and cheese, for example, and every dish is essentially a ton of meat with very few vegetables and some broth. I don’t think most of those restaurants have an actual Chinese ingredient in them except perhaps soy sauce.

        • boatboy_srq

And apparently live in all-white communities.
What could possibly be racist about that?

Less than 100 miles from C’ville is a nice-looking, well-designed new development, where one of the salespeople told me (once she knew where I was from) “Oh, you’re from [modern name of reasonably integrated hamlet]? I grew up there – when it was called [name community originally used and chartered as explicitly segregated whites-only community]. When it was a nice place to live.” I was so tempted to respond, “Don’t you mean when it was a white place to live?” Needless to say I know where I’ll NEVER buy a house.

        • Dom Saunders

The whole “all white community” makes no sense to me. They live in America, and can pretty much pick almost any state in the country and just do that. Outside of cities, minorities are rather spread out, so it’s not like it’s hard to find such a community. It’s why I’m used to being the only black guy most anywhere I go whenever I travel. Usually, almost everyone else is white, so what are they even talking about?

And besides, why are they so pressed? The US has always been a country of immigrants, natives, and the descendants of slaves, and of those three groups, one of them was specifically brought over by white people and the other was nearly decimated by them, and yet NOW they want to get in their feelings about “whites only” in 2017? They can miss me with the bullshit. They have no real problems.

        • JWC

          Cheers from a fellow Canuck

One of the things I love about Dupont is it’s diversity.

Blacks, whites, Asians, Latinos. All in one area – either they outright live here or they come in to work, eat, drink, etc.

Living in a white, or mostly white community, like my mother does in Florida?

          Pass.

          • vorpal 😼

Agreed. I guess if you’re accustomed to it, uniformity is comforting in some sense, but I would much more enjoy a diverse group of people. I grew up with huge amounts of diversity in all forms around me, and I loved it.

Your sister dumped you for your neighbor Sebastian, the vegan, craft brewmaster who has a successful indie/americana band — she said he’s “an authentic and kind man who speaks to the soul” and doesn’t spend his time trolling people on the internet who couldn’t give two shits about his self-esteem issues.

            Remember?

After you get back from your weekly trip to the free clinic, you said you wanted some “me” time to get your eyebrows waxed, eat a dozen macaroons, take a long hot bath with a box of wine, and cozy up with your Nicholas Sparks books in your Hello Kitty robe.

I wouldn’t dream of disturbing you anymore than you already are.

          • CJAS

Yeah, it’s funny how “negro culture” hates “Uncle Tom” Clarence Thomas yet loves ‘hero’ Thurgood Marshall. It’s like it’s able to distinguish characteristics and hold people to standards or something.

          • Werewolf Alpha

I wonder why BLM marches around different places talking about black lives matter, but you never seem them marching through the ghettos in Chicago or many other inner cities where negros have settled and murder each other hourly. Why is that?

          • CJAS

That’s a bit of a non sequitur, but I’ll bite. First, there
is an obvious distinction between state-sponsored (white supremacy-inspired) police murders and ordinary crime. Second, because you choose to not see it doesn’t
mean it doesn’t exist–and given that you’re on the net and repeating something that’s easily refuted you’ve made that choice. (Further, any social progress made in the past century in this country has been because of the affirmative actions of “Negroes”.)

Does one see the alt-right protest the epidemic rape rates (highest in the country) in Anchorage, AK, Aurora, CO or Tulsa, OK?

          • Werewolf Alpha

Wow, you know the name of a negro who isn’t a basketball player. Good for you.

          • CJAS

Is that your answer? Yup, I can name all sorts of “Negros” who aren’t athletes or rappers. But I’m especially good at naming legal scholars, judges, justices. It’s a thing in our profession.

          • Werewolf Alpha

I’m sure pimps and thugs are pretty good with remembering the names of judges and other law enforcement types.

          • CJAS

Ironically, the origin for the name “Blanche” comes from the French word for “white.”

      • That’s blanc….blanch, or blanche means “to make white”.

Notice I said origin. I suppose I should have been more clear.

The other day, I mocked and dissed and verbally abused a JMG commenter who admitted to never having seen that movie.

      I feel guilty.

      (Well, not really.)

It’s from “Whatever Happened To Baby Jane.” It’s a cinematic bitch fight between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis.

            THE cinematic bitch fight.

He claims that people like Lee are symbols of white heritage, I guess he must not be aware of all the white people who fought and died for the north.

    • David Walker

Or that the general dictated that he not be buried in his confederate uniform. Or that his family refused admittance to anyone wearing a confederate uniform at his funeral.
If it were for the renunciation of a past he wished he didn’t have, I’d be a little more in favor of the statue, too.

    • I could easily make a long list of people and works that exemplify the European and European-american cultural heritage. Chaucer, Shakespeare, Goethe, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Monet and on and on. Nowhere in that list would you find Robert E. Lee. Lee was a traitor and that’s not something I want to celebrate and it’s certainly not something I’m proud of. I know that makes me a bad southern boy but so be it. Treason is not something to celebrate.

Not really. It’s a Croatian name, the Ustaše were great buds with Hitler and though Aryan is a pretty meaningless term in relation to how the Nazis use it, they definitely considered Croatians to fall under there übermensch banner.

      • JT

Yes, really. Croatians are Slavs. The Nazis considered Slavs non-Aryan untermenschen.

    • ErikDC

Or realize with a name like that how super easy it’ll be for employers to find these stories now that his name is publicly identified. This will follow him for the rest of his life. Employers will Google his name and throw his resume in the trash afterwards.

What is the “heritage” these people seek to put on pedestals? People who fought to be entitled to enslave other people. There was no other reason for the South to leave the union. And the Confederates were willing to kill others who would deny them the license to buy and sell people. How can they defend this? Why can’t they see that the heritage they embrace is an insult to the principles of our nation? The Confederacy was not comprised of honorable men. Honorable men don’t buy and sell slaves.

Many Portlanders are planning to risk the gridlock of the rural highways and byways here to reach the path of totality which is only seventy miles away, even though Portland will experience over 99 percent totality. Other than not being able to look directly at the sun at its highest percentage of totality, I don’t think there will be much more of a difference. One thing that comes to mind is being away from city lights (many of which automatically activate), will allow people to be able to see more of the “night sky” during totality.

Part of the fist comment on a Reno news site. I post this to give an idea of who we are dealing with.

“It is good that more people are openly discussing this event and the underlying issues. Please keep in mind a quote often attributed to the late Senator from New York, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, “Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts.”

What we have been witnessing in the past few decades is a concerted political effort of ethnic cleansing that targets White, European culture. I saw the smug Northern Whites sneer as this so-called anti-racist movement worked to ban the display of the Confederate Battle Flag, then Confederate monuments and books about the Confederate era. The Northern Whites suddenly saw during the Trump campaign, glimmers that the so-called anti-racists were now coming for Old Glory (the U S Flag) and all monuments dedicated to White European people who founded the United States. Even though many Americans are of mixed ethnic backgrounds, more of our citizens are noticing the effort to destroy and ethnically cleanse White European culture from America, and even those of us who are not entirely “White” have had enough.

Those who wish to destroy White European culture here in the United States will hide behind names like, “anti-racist coalitions” but more and more of our citizens have awakened to their true ethnic cleansing agenda and are finally fighting back.”

Do tell! Perhaps people that shop at his businesses need to be aware who they’re doing business with.

    • Acronym Jim

What a convoluted bunch of flim-flammery.

The confederate battle flag wasn’t about “white European culture,” it was about “white, pro-slavery, traitors.”

    • Gigi

To guys like this the mere existence of non-whites is proof that they’re working to “destroy White European culture here in the United States.”

    • m_lp_ql_m

I really wonder how much “White European culture” these nazis celebrate? How many British, Dutch, or Norwegian traditions do they practice?

      • Exactly. There are a great number of ways to celebrate one’s European cultural heritage. A symphony concert is a good place to start. (Colleges often have those for free or at very low admission.) Sons of Norway, Oktoberfest, San Gennaro, St Patrick’s Day, etc. There are all kinds of groups and festivals that celebrate various European-American immigrant populations. Being a Neo-Nazi only celebrates genocide.

        • RoFaWh

My recommendation? Buy several of the vast CD sets being put out of classical music.

          This one is particularly pleasant:

          https://www.amazon.ca/Living-Stereo-Collection-Various/dp/B009J3K4MI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1502829354&sr=8-2&keywords=living+stereo+box+sets

          • My collection of musical recordings is quite extensive and I am rather particular about conductors, soloists and singers, but thanks for the rec anyway.

          • RoFaWh

I noticed last winter that Amazon (.ca) had on offer a fair number of big box sets, so started buying a few.

This has pushed my CD collection size from around 5500 to somewhere in the 6000-6500 range. It’s fun, and it’s interesting, with any number of surprises.

Some of these sets do, indeed, focus on a specific musician, so look more closely. Your reaction may be “Oh, I already have most of those” but I remind you that remastering techniques have steadily improved over the years and early remastering to digital are likely not as good as one done today.

          • Indeed. I noticed that when I finally found the more recent remaster of the Solti Ring Cycle on DC (on sale, natch). It was considerably better than the CDs I’d borrowed from the library.

I should note that I have friends who cannot stand digital. It sounds brittle and dry to people with more sensitive hearing than mine. Chacun à son goût.

    • So…white European culture equal confederate flags and monuments?

If you want to preserve European culture, insist on better funding for the arts (ballet and opera are almost all European works).

I grew up in East Texas and live in metropolitan north Texas now. I can say from over 50 years of experience that I have never met anyone who displayed a confederate flag on their home, on their vehicle or on their person who wasn’t racist. A lot racist (not just a little bit racist like most Americans). I’m sure somewhere out there is an exception. There always is. But I have yet to come across such an individual. Flying the confederate flag is about racism and has been since people started doing it as a response to the civil rights movement. A lot of those monuments and flags weren’t there before the 1950s. They are there to make black people feel unwelcome and even afraid. They are a shameful part of our past and do need to come down.

To me it reads like the bro mentality. The why are you so serious crowd. Playing dumb so they don’t have to take ownership.

        • RoFaWh

      • AJ Drew

Actually, yes! I wasn’t familiar with Andrew Anglin so I googled him. Ended up on a page selling Daily Stormer t-shirts (note to self: scrub search history.)

Anywho, here’s the sales pitch for the shirt:

“The design, by famed graphic designer Zeiger, is retro-futurist and unlike something with swastikas and Hitler, can easily be worn in public. The only people who are likely to recognize it will be other bros. And if someone does recognize it, you can be like “what the hell are you talking about?” and say you just picked it up at Walmart because it looked cool.

You will get a rush secretly wearing a Nazi t-shirt in public without having to suffer the consequences of wearing a Nazi t-shirt in public.”

        • SoCalGal20

Thanks! Ah, good old plausible deniability!

And of course they’re fucking cowards. If you’re a Nazi, say it loud and proud. What’s the with secrecy?

          • Reality.Bites

Of course anyone who’d know to question it would also know damn well they aren’t sold at Walmart or any other decent store.

(Sorry for calling Walmart decent. But there are degrees)

          • RoFaWh

Everybody knocks Walmart, but I have come to question the validity of the complaints.

When a Walmart opens and local businesses can’t handle the competition, is it because Evil Walmart has artificially low prices that will go up when the competition is nuked? Or is it because the local businesses did a shitty job of sellling people stuff they wanted at prices they can afford?

I go to Walmart every two or three weeks for a big grocery shop because prices are low; also, Walmart carries items I don’t know of another local source for.

Low prices, for example: 375 ml cans of evaporated milk are around $1.65 most places, on sale sometimes around $1.25. Walmart? $1.00

Otherwise unavailable items: Kimbo coffee beans, roasted and imported from Italy. A 1 kg bag for $17. On Amazon, it is $35 to $115.

Another scarce item: blueberry jam from Newfoundland. (Yes, my local Walmart has a small section of foods imported from Nfld.) It’s the best I’ve ever had. They even have newfie apple-partridge berry jam.

          • That’s the entire alt-right MO. “What? I was kidding! Can’t you snowflakes take a joke?” Glad to see a site spelling it out as evidence of what we all already knew.

        • Cuberly

I was wondering why so many were wearing that odd shirt. Sort of dilutes their intent if that’s what they all wear to their hate rally.

          • AJ Drew

Oh, do you mean the photo with the shirts that look like they are covered in Runes? That confused me, too, BUT that was actually taken in Greece, and apparently are not runes, but greek alphabet spelling out “Golden Dawn” a hate group in Greece. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Dawn_(political_party)

What I don’t get is… WTF did they think would happen?

In 1994, the year the Ontario government ended up not bringing in, as promised, full rights for same-sex partners, I was holding one end of a banner for the umbrella group for the good guys, Campaign for Equal Families during the Pride parade. A somewhat blurry photo (when it came to me) of the banner was on the front page of the Toronto Star the next day.

While I hadn’t expected it to be the main photo on page one, I took at as given that any time I was in the parade there was a chance of being in media.

      • Reality.Bites

OK, but, they all have themselves convinced they’re being oppressed by the powerful.

I was marching for something I wanted from my government that it was having trouble rallying support for. I didn’t have the slightest bit of fear of my government (that I’d voted for) or of losing my job.

If I thought the government was out to get me, I’d march in a mask. To march openly means either you’re brave or you have no fear or more stupid than the Klan.

        • CanuckDon

There’s really no comparison. You had the advantage with your personal security. Decades ago, the message out there was that we were deviants so it took more than just nerve to go out there to tell the world how wrong they were. It took pure passion and strength stemming from our own self-awareness and determination. You were fighting for rights that weren’t there and knew full well that they should. One couldn’t possibly do that and hide at the same time.

This guy, on the other hand, has no personal security within. He’s deluded and convinced of some fantasy that his rights are going to be taken away. He naively marched openly believing the words of others.

What is with this childish, abject denial? We see it frequently in apologies, e.g. “That is not the person I am.” The evidence always suggests otherwise.

    • UrsusArctos

Some of the other verses in GOP non-apology apologies are: “So sorry I got caught.” “Sorry you feel I did wrong.” “Sorry I failed.”

POC and the LGBT community could remind them but folks choose not to listen to us.

      • That’s because too many of the white folks have confused loss of special privileges with the loss of their liberties. They just don’t know and won’t accept that civil rights aren’t a pie, where if one person gets more, someone else gets less. That’s why we call it equality.

      • William

I thought it was Serbian. Close enough.

        • zhera

Having just now read a little about Croatia during WW II, there’s a distinction between the Croatians and the Serbs. As in, the Serbs were killed – slaughtered – in consentration camps by the Croatians. Apparently even German nazi generals and such were appalled at the conditions.

          • UrsusArctos

Biloxi has had a Jugo community for a long time. One of the local Croats told me his people were the ones the Italian mafioso feared and looked down as their meaner, poorer, dumber, cousins in Istria.

          • William

A lot of that was settling centuries old scores. Once, long ago, someone’s great—- grandfather raped a goat belonging to someone else’s great—- grandfather. Nobody remembers who owned the goat, or who did the raping.

I find it so fascinating that the moon’s size and distance from Earth makes it look like it’s the same size as the sun.

      • m_lp_ql_m

The moon’s distance from Earth, AND the Earth’s distance from the Sun have a lot to do with the fact that there’s even someone here to observe that fact.

        • Tomcat

Yes, without the moon we could not be here anyway.

        • zhera

If the moon had been smaller, would it have to be closer to Earth for us to be here to observe it?

(And by smaller I don’t mean tiny, I mean to ask if there’s a perfect combo of gravity/size/distance here.)

          • The moon used to be closer to the earth and is slowly moving further away. Total eclipses happen in our time but millions of years from now they will look very different.

    • We only have a few million years left to enjoy solar eclipses.

    • Tomcat

I have a total eclipse where I live, but I am sure a storm will screw it up.
      Always screws up lunar eclipses.
Got my lenses to watch just in case.

      • m_lp_ql_m

Where’d you get the lenses from? I need some…

        • Tomcat

I ordered from welding company, but it took two weeks to get them so not enough time to get them now.

There are lots of places to buy glasses on ebay and other online places however.

          • Tomcat

Any welding helmet with number 15 glass will do.

          • DaMoldBrok

Try any welding supply shop, they have replacement lenses that you can hold in your hand, without the entire helmet. Unless, you go buy a helmet, for the eclipse, then return it. Then again, they might let you borrow it, if you stay there.

    • DoctorDJ

      Cool. Thanks for posting.

    • thatotherjean

Very cool! We’re going to see a lot more of the eclipse than I thought. Thanks!

      • I was kind of bummed that I’m not going to get to travel to the totality zone but we’re getting over 75% here so it will still be cool, plus there’s another one in seven years assuming we haven’t nuked ourselves into extinction.

        • BobSF_94117

Even if we nuke ourselves into extinction, there’ll still be an eclipse. Though, I suppose, if the fallout hasn’t settled enough, it’ll be kinda hazy. Plus all the clouds from the extended winter might be a problem.

      • Reality.Bites
        • Funny but, um, fictional.

      • That’s a useful observation for actors. Everyone thinks their own actions are morally justified, even though outside observers (the audience) can clearly see how fucked up your reasoning is. A good example of this is the German film Downfall (Der Untergang). The people depicted in Hitler’s bunker are all completely nuts but the actors wisely chose to play them as calm rational people doing things like killing their own children because they can’t bear the thought of them growing up in a world without National Socialism. It’s actually more horrifying to watch than if they had tried to play them as looking insane.

    • Reality.Bites

  • Lest we forget exactly WHY Donald and the Nazis seem so cozy with one another:

Donald Trump reportedly owned a copy of Adolf Hitler’s speeches and kept them in his bedside cabinet.

A 1990 Vanity Fair article about billionaire businessman stated that Mr Trump’s then wife Ivana, said her husband owned a copy of “My New Order” – a printed collection of the Nazi leader’s speeches.

Marie Brenner, the article’s author, wrote: “Ivana Trump told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that from time to time her husband reads a book of Hitler’s collected speeches, ‘My New Order’, which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed.

Sadly, the veterans cemeteries are filled with the generation who fought Nazis. The last of the Holocaust survivors are very old, and while the children of both groups can attest to their experiences, the grandchildren and great grandchildren of the people who fought Nazis and fascists have lost that connection to our history and are profoundly ignorant of the evil inherent in both, so Trump’s reading material is a joke, everything is a joke to a fool. One group of his supporters I don’t get are vets, especially Korean war vets. They should know better.

        • JWC

So true and because future generations forget, could be the very reason history does repeat itself. A major part of the problem is the education system

          • Pat

Two social issues we studied in high school was the Holocaust and civil rights, maybe because that was the NY curriculum. Decades afterwards, it’s depressing to learn both should be back on the curriculum but won’t be in the areas where the instruction is needed the most. • I’m against doxxing. I don’t like it. I don’t know this guy and I’m not going to find him to personally yell at him. My guess is that he has enough acquaintances, relatives and coworkers to do that as it is and it will mean more coming from them.

BUT, it’s bullshit that this isn’t who he is. He traveled to this event knowing what it was. This is exactly who he is. He went to some expense to say to the world this is who he is. Oh no, did he just realize that the African American and Latino people he works with are going to see him for what he is? Too fucking bad. Why are right wingers such fucking crybabies. If you’re going to be an asshole at least own it and don’t play victim when people see you for what you really are, a Neo-Nazi shit.

    • m_lp_ql_m

It’s not doxxing if it’s publicly available information.

      • UrsusArctos

Quibble here. Doxxing IS gathering publicly available information to harass someone, usually to shut them up. If they have taken a public stand or advocated for some cause in public it’s fair game.

    • Dreaming Vertebrate

He has given public interviews as a white supremacist – so this is not an example of doxxing.

    • stevenj

      What is doxxing?

      • -M-

Finding and posting someone’s identifying information.

        • stevenj

          Thanks, never heard the term.

          • -M-

Dox from documents presumably. Usually used to refer negatively to online harassment and intimidation where trolls publish identifying info about someone [name, email address, phone number, employer, address… ]

Obviously there’s a continuum (a very slippery one) between identifying and outing people like this and harassment, threats etc.

    • SoCalGal20

This isn’t doxxing. He chose to fly across the country to a hate rally. He didnt’t hide his face. He was proud to be there. So I disagree. Call them out. Shine the brightest light we have on them. Identify these assholes.

    • Cuberly

I’m strongly against doxxing as well. That being said, this isn’t doxxing. These aren’t anonymous individuals on the net. They’re openly demonstrating their hatreds. If anything this is self-doxxing.

One has to be intensely naive in thinking this wouldn’t come back to bite them in the ass.

      • UrsusArctos

“One has to be intensely naive arrogant in thinking this wouldn’t come back to bite them in the ass.” Mind if I edit that a bit?

        • Cuberly

          Yep, that works.

    • Pat

I don’t like doxxing either, but this is a public demonstration where pictures were taken. They were happy to have the photos of their demonstration taken to further their cause through publicity, they have no reasonable expectation that they might not be recognized through a photo. Can’t have it both ways.

If they wanted to remain anonymous, put the old white hood on. And having said that, if they’re so proud to be Nazis or white supremacists, then they shouldn’t have a problem with the people they work with or live next to seeing that or the consequences. Too fucking bad is right.

  • Leo
    • Dreaming Vertebrate

I feel a court battle in the making. “Racist” isn’t a protected class, but I wonder if he qualifies for “creed”? • barrykyle415

Good luck.

If you want to honor the people responsible for building our country, then you honor the ones that represent our founding principles, one of which being that “ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL”. This whiny little bigot’s excuse for why he is a White Nationalist, is so weak. You are a White Nationalist because you are a racist and you feel better when you are around other racists.

    • Snarky

White supremacists like Peter Cvjetanovic who say they just want to honor and remember those who “built the state and our homeland” always seem to forget the slaves who built so much of it. Including the White House. But they have no problem honoring people like Robert E. Lee, who were traitors, taking up arms against the United States. And losing.

    • RoFaWh

The other day I ran across a OOtoob video of streetcar rails being laid (or re-laid) in Washington DC in (I guess) the 1950s. Guess what color skin is doing the heavy work? Blacks.

Those beautiful ante-bellum plantation mansions? Built by black slaves. The magnolia trees? Planted by black slaves. The fried chicken so often served for dinner? Cooked and served by black slaves.

Enough said to make the point.

  • rednekokie

Sugar, if you call yourself a “white nationalist”, you are, indeed, a racist, a Nazi, a white supremist, an Alt-right, and basically, a dumb dick-head.
Every one of those is just the same cereal in a different box. You call yourselves different names, but you all do the same thing — denigrate any and everyone who isn’t white, protestant, and male, just like you.

So — go f*** yourself — I suspect you, yourself, are the only one you can talk into doing that —

We went to war against the Nazis – I remember that war — I remember the evil things they did — I know people who were over there fighting (I was several years too young to go) — I remember all the hurt and suffering that those “white nationalists” (they called themselves National Socialists) – imposed upon decent people of all nationalities, races, religious viewpoints, and sexual orientation. If you want to be one of those bully-minded idiots – then go right ahead — we can oil up the guillotine especially for you.

  • Snarky

Remember, everyone. Don’t just say “he” in comments here and elsewhere online. Always use Peter Cvjetanovic’s name, Peter Cvjetanovic. The more we write “Peter Cvjetanovic” or perhaps “Peter Cvjetanovic racist” or even “Peter Cvjetanovic Nazi,” the better the chances are that online searches will ensure that Peter Cvjetanovic’s racism, bigotry, intolerance and hate will haunt Peter Cvjetanovic for the rest of Peter Cvjetanovic’s life. Every prospective employer who Googles “Peter Cvjetanovic,” each person who is thinking of dating Peter Cvjetanovic or writing a loan for Peter Cvjetanovic will see that Peter Cvjetanovic is a Nazi. So remember, always use his full name, Peter Cvjetanovic. It makes mentions of Peter Cvjetanovic’s racism score higher in Google searches!

SO, let me get this straight, someone with a Yugoslav surname wants to make America for white folks. Someone fails at history. Not that long ago he would have been treated about as poorly as a black man. Italians and their cousins Jugos weren’t treated well when THEY arrived in the US south. One of the larger mass lynchings was of Italians in New Orleans. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/March_14,_1891,_lynchings

Not a good idea. You’re just giving him more name recognition, so he can run for office as a Republican.

    • leastyebejudged

How much did he pay you to promote his political career ?

  • Galvestonian

Ummmm, I don’t think you’ll be attending UNR too much longer …

    • leastyebejudged

It would be a huge mistake to fire him from his job at UNR and somehow find some excuse to kick him out as a student, just for attending a political rally.

But this is what I’ve come to expect from Dems now, this kind of foolsihness.

      • Galvestonian

…find some excuse ??? …spoken like a typical Rethug — the guy is a racist bigot promoting hate and inequality. As far as attending a political rally — well, I don’t believe they were serving tea and crumpets — it’s hardly a rally with murder and blood letting against people that are American Citizens ( many of who have an ancestry that goes back a few hundred years or more here in America ) … against some of the ‘white power’ group whose own grandfathers or great-grandfathers ( Trump, for instance )who weren’t American Citizens and who eventually immigrated here for freedom and equality. You have to remember is that America is a nation of immigrants of all countries and all races – that’s why we’re different and it’s why we’re better that those countries that promote racial purity ( like Nazi Germany was )

        • leastyebejudged

          1. Not a Republican, and my county had a near 80% voter turnout. We went door to door here, what did YOU do ?

          2. It’s a RIGHT to attend demonstrations. If you’re such an idiot that you’d help this asshole create an extreme right political career out of morons like you firing him and kicking him out of school, the backlash would guarantee him a future as well as a massive court settlement.

          3. You’re like so many fucking people here with opinions. You’re just stupid and conformist and naive. And then you get all pissy when people point it out. Truly just fuck off.

          • Galvestonian

        • leastyebejudged

That you believe there’s some sort of fucking just cause to kick a fucking student out of university for simply attending a rally is pretty fucking indicative of what the real fucking problems in this country are.

  • Robert Flanagan

Most of the statues of Robert E Lee and the rest were actually erected in the 1960s in response to the Civil Rights movement

    • UrsusArctos

Not quite. They were and have always been “white power” objects, just a bit older than you think. They were post-reconstruction 1880s-1920s for the most part. The UDC (United Daughters of the Confederacy) flogged the hell out of “The Lost Cause” and glorifying confederates.
One of the monuments they removed in New Orleans commemorated an attempted overthrow of the reconstruction government and was erected in 1891 at the height of whitewashing the war. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Liberty_Place

      • leastyebejudged

And nobody was ever prosecuted for any of the 60 some odd murders.

That’s basically all there is to the South. A lot of people who happily took part in murders without any fear at all of prosecution. Because everybody protected them.

I get it now, I’m seeing now that this problem simply isn’t one that is solvable without extensive bloodshed.

        • UrsusArctos

One fault with your logic. It is NOT a southern thing. It’s in America’s DNA. Racism is our original sin. It will likely have to be fought forever. There is a long sad history of deadly race riots across the country (Not just the south) like these from the first half of the 20th century.
          1917: Philadelphia – Houston
1919: Washington, D.C. – Chicago, Illinois – Omaha, Nebraska – Charleston, South Carolina – Longview, Texas – Knoxville, Tennessee – Elaine, Arkansas
1920: Ocoee, Florida – West Frankfort, Illinois – 1921: Tulsa, Oklahoma
          1923: Rosewood/Cedar Key, Florida)
1927: Little Rock, Arkansas – Poughkeepsie, New York
          1930: Watsonville, California
          1935: Harlem race riot
          1943: Detroit race riot
          from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_racial_violence_in_the_United_States

          • leastyebejudged

You’re just going to lump in all post civil war reconstruction mass political murders with every race riot over the last hundred years ?

That’s not really very relevant to the remark I made.

Also, you seriously think of shit in terms of original sin and eternal wars ?

I’m sorry, but that’s just fucking idiotic superstitious horse shit right there.

          • UrsusArctos

I put information about the ACTUAL reason and timing of those monuments instead of misinformation about them being from the 1950-60s.
I didn’t disagree with your statement about there being no punishment. You jumped to “That’s all there is to the south”. I called BS and pointed out that race riots, not just involving black people but natives, Italians, and others have a long history in the US dating to colonial times.
My “original sin” is a reference to the fact that racism was present from before the founding. It didn’t spring up in the south in the 1800s. 3/5ths of a person IS in America’s DNA, the Constitution.
You threw out significant bloodshed (and eternal war). Racism and bigotry WILL have to be faced down as long as people buy into it. It’s not a one time deal.
I’ll discuss almost anything with anyone, as long as they keep it civil. Try being a bit less judgmental.

You may think it strikes a blow against the libtards to say “democrat party”, but it doesn’t. No one with a bit of gumption falls for such bait.

    • MUELLER KNOWS

      Get phuked, skank.

      • Nan231

        Must have hit a nerve.

        • MUELLER KNOWS

          Nope. Just like trolling freaks.

          • Nan231

            It will be proven true.

          • RoFaWh

So you are admitting that right now, it is NOT true, eh?

            Liar.

    • colly

Stop your BS troll… You think we don’t know what you’re doing?? smh.

      • Nan231

Must have hit a nerve, not a troll. Just providing the truth.

        • RoFaWh

Not truth. Lies, pure and simple, though the deplorable mindset won’t figure that out at all quickly,

  • Pat

Sweetheart, unless you’re auditioning for a lead role in your community center’s production of Les Deplorables, you’re a Nazi.

  • ericlingenf

The surname doesn’t really betray a mom-and-apple-pie-anglo-saxon-true-American now, does it?

  • Richard

” I’m not the angry racist they see in that photo.” Really?

    Total BS ?

  • doninkansas

Looks like “Godwin’s Law” has been nullified forever here in the good ole US of A. We have people who’s ancestors died in fighting against the Confederacy during the Civil War, waving Confederate flags and claiming it represents their heritage. We have children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of those who fought the Nazis or who’s families suffered under the Nazis waving Nazi flags, spouting Nazi propaganda and praising Hitler. And I would be willing to bet that had those protesters been living in Nazi German during those years, a large percentage would have quietly disappeared into the camps, coming out as ashes and soap. They forget the Nazis killed more than just Jews.

  • Tom Chicago

Perfectly ridiculous response. He showed his ass and is now terrified at being soooooooo busted. The hyper-polite tone of his disclaimer is especially laughable, given the full-throated hatred in his picture.

  • Ogre Magi

Why do they KKK call their leaders by mythological terms like Grand Dragon, Grand Wizard ,Grand Cyclops, etc? Most people in the rural South shit their pants about stuff like Harry Potter

    • RoFaWh

Thje KKK dates back to the era when “fraternal orders” were all the rage, and fancy titles for their functionaries even more a thing.

  • StudioTodd

So is he saying tomorrow doesn’t belong to him?

  • atopper

Can’t expect much more from a Croatian… The ultimate Nazi ‘wannabees’.
