Minutes ago Melania Trump followed House Speaker Paul Ryan and Republican National Committee chairperson Ronna Romney McDaniel in condemning today’s Nazi rally in Charlotteville, Virginia, where thousands of white supremacist Trump supporters have clashed with riot police and counter-protesters.
The president himself has thus far remained glaringly silent. The scene, at the moment, is relatively calm after Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe declared a state of emergency and Virginia state police declared the rally to be an unlawful assembly.
Our country encourages freedom of speech, but let’s communicate w/o hate in our hearts. No good comes from violence. #Charlottesville

The views fueling the spectacle in Charlottesville are repugnant. Let it only serve to unite Americans against this kind of vile bigotry.

The hate & bigotry on display in #charlottesville is dangerous & cowardly.

Free speech may give them the right to do this but also empowers us to unite to loudly speak out against it.
