Megachurch Pastor Doubles Down For Fox: God Gave Trump The Moral Authority To Kill Kim Jong-Un [VIDEO]

“I wanted to clarify that I believe the Bible, especially Romans 13, does give President Trump moral authority to use whatever force necessary, including assassination or even war, to topple an evil dictator like Kim Jong Un. And I believe the Bible is very clear about that. And while President Trump prefers a diplomatic solution to this problem, he’s been talking about diplomacy for 19 years with North Korea, he’s also willing to do whatever it takes to keep America safe.

“And one thing I know about President Trump after being around him for the last two years is this: unlike his predecessor, when President Donald Trump draws a red line, he’s not going to erase it, move away from it, or back down from it.” – Texas megachurch pastor Robert Jeffries, doubling down last night for Fox News.

If you’re god is telling you to kill people choose a new religion.

    • joe ho

In fact the god of the Bible orders rulers to commit genocide.

      1 Samuel 15:3

3 Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’ ”

      • Chanel5

I just posted that!! I didn’t see your post.

      • So, uh, if they’ve got dogs and cats, leave ’em be? Take ’em with you as spoils of war? WE NEED MORE INFO.

        • Miji

Well the cats would surely switch sides once the killing starts. Not sure how the dogs escaped the kill list as probably the only loyal animal. And the livestock make no sense as they would have value. Thankfully, I apparently don’t get the point of genocide. Their god is cray cray.

      • OdieDenCO

are the Amalek southern baptist or evangelist?

        • For some reason, I read “Amtrak” instead of “Amalek” and tried to figure out why they’d be hitting up trains.

      • Sashineb

Yes, and then there is this gem: “Then I HEARD THE LORD SAY to the other men, “Follow him through the city and show no mercy; have no pity! KILL THEM ALL – OLD AND YOUNG, GIRLS AND WOMEN AND LITTLE CHILDREN. Defile the Temple! Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!” So they went throughout the city and did as they were told by the LORD.” (Ezekiel 9:5-7)

        • Gerry Fisher

I would *love* to hear the rationalizations they use to justify those passages. On second thought….

          • JCF

An embattled minority people projected divine rationalization for their aggression: that work for you?

[I recognize that’s not the Christianist explanation, obviously—but I speak only for my Episcopalian self.]

    • Todd20036

My god is telling me to fuck people.
And he tells me to not wear any stupid toupees’

      • crewman

See now that’s a religion to stick with.

Remember way back before the 1980’s when Baptists believed in the Separation of Church and State?

    • Sashineb

They won’t. They’ve found something that justifies their need to hate other people. I don’t know how many of those crackpots have told me that child abuse, rape, murder are all permissible IF their god commands it. Here’s part of their justification: “Then I HEARD THE LORD SAY to the other men, “Follow him through the city and show no mercy; have no pity! KILL THEM ALL – OLD AND YOUNG, GIRLS AND WOMEN AND LITTLE CHILDREN. Defile the Temple! Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! I’m going to say yes this is the same god. “Now go and attack the Amalekites and completely destroy everything they have. Do not spare them. Kill men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and donkeys.” 1 Samuel 15:3.

      • Todd20036

Ok. I’m willing to kill men, women, children, and infants. (braying pooping machines)

You know, it sure didn’t seem like the GOP followed this edict when Obama was President. Do you think they’d be following it if Clinton were President? >.>

‘god told me to murder people’. It is the same argument mentally ill people use in their defense.

    • bambinoitaliano

God was anointed as the first mental patient at the beginning of time. Let there be batshit crazy before let there be light was uttered.

  • Bluto

We all know god is a vain, vengeful, hateful, genocidal maniac which somehow gives them moral authority, so this comes as no surprise.

    • bambinoitaliano

God is the Satan in the alt world which we are living in.

      • Do not need Satan. God does it all himself.
        Isaiah 45:7 King James Version
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

        • bambinoitaliano

It’s like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Or God and Satan share the same plastic surgeon like Michael Jackson and Diana Ross.

        • grada3784

That was before Persia, when Satan made his entrance as God’s gambling buddy.

          • Karl Dubhe

The book of Job is older than the book of Isaiah. 🙂

          • grada3784

They finally got the editing right.

          • Thanks for the timeline. More. Is Isaiah responding to the introduction of Satan? Satan gambles with God in Job right?

          • grada3784

Karl D said Job was written before Isaiah and I have read that Job’s wife was the daughter of Jacob.

I doubt there’s a connection, since Satan in Job is on God’s staff and, as you said, wagers with God about Job. The Satan in Job is a far cry from the one in Christianity.

  • joe ho

So we’re back to the religious nutcases that helped get us into the Iraq War.

Elect Republicans. Get religious nutcases who secretly hate life and long for their pretend next world where they think they will be in paradise–just like the suicide bombers.

Bush actually believed that the USA had to intervene in Iraq because Gog and Magog from the Book of Revelations were active there. He used that argument on a phone call to try to get Chirac to have France join the coalition.

As Gore Vidal said regarding Teddy Roosevelt, “Never trust a sissy with a gun’.

  • “when President Donald Trump draws a red line, he’s not going to erase it, move away from it, or back down from it.”

No, he’ll just pretend he never said it.

Another glaring example of how completely anti-American the “Christian” right is: Note to “Pastor” Jefress: Your interpretation of your Bible is not our governing document. The authority of the president comes from the Constitution — which is concerned largely with defining the limits of that authority.

  • Chris Baker

“[The bible] … give[s] President Trump moral authority
to use whatever force necessary, including assassination or even war,
to topple an evil dictator like Kim Jong Un”

… and to receive the repercussions of such actions. These people think you can just sneak into KJU’s bedroom one night and shoot him in the head then the whole world would breathe a sigh of relief. No, N. Korea would then invade S. Korea, or shoot a nuclear bomb at them (or Japan, or whatever target is nearby), thousands/millions of innocent civilians would die and suffer. While Trump is sitting in his bronze-plated bathtub telling the world what a great leader he is.

  • rednekokie

This guy is no more a Christian than Kim Young Un is . He is supposed to preach tolerance, forgiveness, and love. He preaches exactly the opposite, and his followers bray away on all the mindless nonsense he preaches.

This is the reason the world goes to war — religious nuts such as him, who want to force their ideas down everyone else’s throats. He ought to go to prison for it.

    • joe ho

That’s the no true Scottsman fallacy. Hatred, fear of the other, and death as a punishment for impiety are part of the Christian message too.

You seem not to have read much of the Bible.

Jesus threatens people with an eternity in a burning lake of fire more than any other character in the Bible. He is actually a colossal dickhead.

You’re spreading the sanitized version of Jesus.

Here are some of my favorites:

18:1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

2 And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father’s house.

3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.

4 And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.

I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women.

  • Dan Weagraff

Its amazing to me that a man who is suppose to represent the character of Jesus can get on national TV and talk about killing someone……their delusion is startling…

    • Zachary Adams

Oh, I don’t know. The Old Testament is full of God endorsing killing, or even doing the mass murders directly. The logical disconnect is, if God is so powerful, why did those situations even arise in the first place…

  • Cuberly
  • Skeptical_Inquirer

What next? Will he be advocating wearing a raincoat while chainsawing minorities & women who refuse to have sex with them?

  • Dana Chilton

Trumps red line was North Korea making a threat. The next day North Korea threatened to lob mussels at Guam.

  • 2patricius2

Hmm. Jeffress conveniently overlooked Romans 13:8 – “Owe no man anything except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the Law.” And Romans 13:10 – “‘Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.’ Love does no evil to a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the Law.'”

If Jeffress really believes that Drumpf’s word is golden, he is one of the biggest fools on earth. Of course, Ir seems clear to me that Jeffress is as venal and as much of a fraud as Drumpf, and Drumpf is a means to Jeffress end – more money and more power.

Anyone whose religion allows for the murder of millions to kill one man, is a monster. And here they thought the terrorists on 9/11 were monsters. None of those terrrorists – though they killed thousands – was able to drop nuclear bombs and start a world war in the process.

Romans 13 that “Pastor” Jeffries cites has to do with obeying civil authorities and NOTHING about destroying another nation. But that is the kind of “biblical teaching” that Evangelicals are used to and accept without question as “truth” never mind that it is just one idiot’s misinterpretation of Bible passages. The people who attend his “megachurch” are likewise idiots for following him. Of course, this “obedience” to civil authorities only refers to Republican presidents. If they are Democrats, they get imprecatory prayers (in other words Christian curses).
