One Million Moms Vs Disney Junior Channel

Just in from hate group leader Monica Cole:

Alerting all parents! Many have found the animated program, “Doc McStuffins,” to be a clean show; 1MM has recently found that this to be no longer true. In a first for Disney Junior, an upcoming episode of “Doc McStuffins” airing this Saturday morning, August 5, 2017, will feature a family with two moms.

The preview clearly states “the doll family” consists of two females and two children. One mother and child get separated from the other mother and child, but reunite in the end with a family hug. The plot of the story is the family gets separated in an earthquake because they do not have an emergency plan.

This should not come as a surprise since the show’s creator and executive producer of the series, Chris Nee, is lesbian and has stated in an online interview that she will instill subtle messages about sexual orientation into the storyline.

Disney Channel has questionable content at times, especially when it portrays kids showing disrespect towards parents and adults. However, many still consider it a family-friendly channel since it is a network created for children, particularly the Disney Junior division, which is primarily for preschoolers.

But this is not a first for Disney Channel. During the finale of “Good Luck Charlie” in 2014, a family with two moms was showcased as the focal point of the episode. This past spring on Disney XD, a “Star vs. the Forces of Evil” episode featured a scene at a boy band concert where several people, including same sex couples, kiss on cue with the music.

Controversial topics and lifestyle choices should be left up to the parents to discuss and Disney Junior should not introduce this to young children. Just because an issue may be legal or because some are choosing a lifestyle doesn’t make it morally correct. Disney should stick to entertaining and providing family-friendly programming instead of pushing an agenda.

Take Action: Please send Disney an email letter urging they not air the controversial “Doc McStuffins” episode featuring two moms. If producers air this episode as originally planned, then conservative families will have no choice but to no longer watch Disney Channel Network in their homes so they can avoid previews, commercials, and reruns. Families will not be able to allow Disney Channel in their homes if the network veers away from family-friendly entertainment.

  • Ken

Right. A show ceases to be “clean” when two loving parents of the sane sex are introduced. Meanwhile, I bet most of these “moms” voted for the pig we now have as president, because, you know, he’s “super clean.”

    • Tawreos

” two loving parents of the sane sex”

Either you meant it to say sane or it is a wonderful typo, either way, I like it!.

      • Ken

Ha! It was a typo. Thanks for catching it. I like “sane sex” as well.

        • Bubba in TX

As a single gay man trying to navigate the rough waters of dating, I’m willing to call women the “sane” sex.

    • Nowhereman

I’ve long considered myself to be of the sane sex! (Thanks for the chuckle. Works for me!)

    • PattyM

The dirty minds of 1MM are seeing “filth” where none exists.

The idea of two single mom friends in a non-sexual relationship moving in together to cut expenses and share babysitting chores is hardly new.

  • Jonathan Smith

I think they are WORKING for the TV channels. How else can I know WHAT to watch unless this band of pathetic Bitches tell me what is fun?

    • crewman

I don’t know that it’s a band of women at all actually. It’s a front group for the American Family Association. It’s a group carefully constructed to sound like a grassroots movement, but it’s not.

      • Tawreos

Most of the time they sound like an offshoot of a PR firm. I have lost track of the number of things I didn’t know existed until OMM complained about them.

There was a poll done a few years back (I’m too lazy to google the results) which showed that a very significant number of Americans would rather spend time and associate with gay people than with Evangelical Christians.

The shows are just reflecting what has been going on in the realities of society.

    • Dave F.

In her case it’s a giant redwood. And it’s probably the only action she had in years.

  • The real cultural divide in our country today boils down to urban vs. rural. It’s not that there aren’t racist people in the cities (because we’ve all met at least one) or that all people in rural areas are racists and bigots (because I know plenty that aren’t) but that there’s an anger from rural or rural-oriented people against the reality of modern urban life. Cities are multi-ethnic. Not only do we not have a problem with that, but we rather like that part of living in a city. The same goes for sexual orientation. Not only do people “tolerate” gay bisexual and trans people (quotes because I loathe the word tolerate) but many people enjoy their friendships with people whose lifestyles are not based on a 1950s fantasy of suburban conformity. What city people love is some people’s worst nightmare. And that’s what they mean when they rail against political correctness. That’s what they mean when they talk about western culture (as if any of those yahoos has ever gone to a museum or attended a concert that wasn’t required by their school). This tears them up and most city people would not notice unless they were gain and enjoying the representation. Half the country has moved into the 21st century while the other half is nostalgic for a past that never existed.

    • Gustav2

What BS! Long term and married gay couples are the embodiment of the 1950s fantasy of suburban life! They take care of their better homes and gardens! 😉

      • Not even close. I don’t know a single gay couple where one stays home while the other works and they have clearly defined gender-based chores and roles. The closest I know of to that are Terry Miller and Dan Savage (Terry is a stay at home dad while Dan has the career and Dan admits in Blue Apron ads that he’s hardly ever the one who does the cooking) BUT Dan and Terry have a semi-open relationship which is very NOT the 1950s suburban fantasy. (Not that such things didn’t exist, but they certainly weren’t admitted in public.) So no. Do a lot of gay people live in a nice house in a stable relationship? Sure. But that wasn’t ever the problem with that 1950s bullshit ideal. It was strict roles with no regard as to who in the couple had which abilities or interests. So no, not like that at all.

  • JaniceInToronto

    Oh Monica, do fuck off…

  • marshlc

    “Family friendly”

Families with two moms are also families. Is it honestly too much to ask that a fraction of the family friendly programming in the world be friendly specifically to them?

You’re talking about denying little kids the chance to ever see their family reflected in the media, in order to save yourself the trouble of saying to your own child “Sometimes, instead of men falling in love with women and women with men, men fall in love with men and women with women. When that happens, their families can have two mommies or two daddies”. You can even, you hateful bitch, tell your kid how wrong you think it is, if you feel you must in order to soothe your imaginary sky daddy. You are under no obligation to go into detail about what they do in bed, if that’s what you are worried about explaining to your child.

What you can’t do is erase people and pretend they don’t exist.

    • Oh but they sure do try to erase us.

    • clay

Frankly, they can even leave out the “falling in love” since most young children (developmentally appropriate for this show) don’t have enough sense of the passage of time to understand that their parents were ever younger or anything other than their parents.

On a related note, most American young children don’t know about their parents having sex, so the sex and gender of their parents is largely irrelevant to the them. I’m willing to bet that Disney Junior did nothing to show the two “adult” female dolls as married or as sexual partners, and recognized that there are a LOT of two-mommy extended households in the US, as well, where sisters and mother-daughter pairs are cooperatively raising their children.

      • marshlc

Preschoolers are very aware of “falling in love” because of fairy tales. They are also intensely interested in the shapes of families. You can give a three or four year old three sticks – one large, one smaller, and one smallest – and chances are fairly good they’ll call them a daddy stick, a mommy stick and a baby stick. The gender of their parents is very important to them, but you’re right that that idea of parents having sex – or anyone having sex, really – is irrelevant to them.

They tend to not connect the two concepts – falling in love and families – when it comes to their own families, but are pretty strong on it at a remove. The dogs fall in love and get married and have puppies, that kind of thing.

So the idea that the parents can both be mommies is something a kid this age will have questions about, but they’re very easily answered. The daycare I’m volunteering at has one boy with two moms, and the kids in his room – ages 20 months to 3 years – basically just went “Oh, OK” and that was that.

Your point that two adult women raising children together, whether they be sexual partners or not, is far from unusual is a very good one. But even when (gasp) they are partners, while it’s something kids have questions about, they’re not difficult questions to answer, even for OMM who couldn’t possibly admit to their kids that sex exists. The kids aren’t asking about sex.

        • clay

          shape, form, of families: yes
history, formation, of families: not so much

I never thought about falling in love, at all, don’t even remember the phrase, until I was at least 6, but then, my childhood was in pretty much no way “normal”.

May I put out my own “alert” and a request for some help? A few days ago, a really wonderful animated short called “In A Heartbeat” was uploaded by 2 animated art students. It depicts a crush by one boy on another boy. It’s really sweet and undoubtedly will have a positive impact on gay youth. It has gone viral and in 3 days has garnered 11.5 million views. But it has drawn the attention of trolls. You know – the “deplorables,” the “Kekistan” people, and the ones who use that Pepe frog icon. They have been downvoting the film and it now has over 6% downvotes, which is much higher than the average short film on YT. And of course, they have been leaving vile comments. Would you please consider going there, giving it a view, a thumbs up and a nice comment?

  • Both of my children have classmates who have gay or lesbian parents. I feel so sad imagining what life will be like for those children who will be exposed to other children whose parents agree with those bigots who tell them that such a family is a “lifestyle choice” and that it is wrong. It’s also disturbing that these bigots think that gayness should be hidden from children because they’re “so young.” My daughter told me when she was in preschool that some children have two mommies. I said, “That’s true.” End of story.

Anybody have the email so we can all write and tell them what a good job they are doing?

I”m going to go out on a limb and bet that the two moms in the cartoon will be entirely family friendly.

Dear Monica, If you have cable TV, I believe they have something that can block content or restrict TV channels, learn how to use it. Or perhaps you should just explain to you precious and sensitive children why you do not want to have them watching this.

I agree it is not okay to have shows that show, “disrespect towards parents and adults.” So thanks for the heads up about this episode. I’ll make sure to have my kids watch it. I want them to be respectful of everyone and it will be a good opportunity to show them that family is about those who love each other and work together to create a happy home.

“Controversial topics and lifestyle choices should be left up to the parents to discuss and Disney Junior should not introduce this to young children. Just because an issue may be legal or because some are choosing a lifestyle doesn’t make it morally correct. Disney should stick to entertaining and providing family-friendly programming instead of pushing an agenda”

Yeah never mind that until recently interracial marriages were also a “controversial topic and lifestyle choice.” The only reason gay marriage is a “controversial topic and lifestyle choice” at all is because of bigots like you, and there really is a about as much to be opposed to here as there was with Interracial marriage. Grow up and join the twenty first century loser, its obvious to everyone but people like you that you have lost.

In this day and age how are people still so closed-minded and ignorant? This is good and opens children up to the real world out there!
