Sessions: I’m Staying As Long As It’s Appropriate

USA Today reports:



Jeff Sessions said Thursday he plans to continue serving as attorney general “as long as that is appropriate” – despite President Trump’s extraordinary attacks that sparked speculation about his fate and that of Robert Mueller, the special counsel leading the Russia investigation. “We love this job. We love this department,” Sessions told reporters.

Slamming Sessions once again for recusing himself from the investigation into Russia’s interference the presidential election, Trump told The New York Times Wednesday that he would not have nominated him for attorney general had he known Sessions would do that. “If he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else,” Trump said.
