Southern Poverty Law Center Demands Jeff Sessions Release Secret Remarks Made To Anti-LGBT Hate Group

From the SPLC:

“How can we trust that the nation’s top law enforcement officer will protect all Americans when he’s willing to meet behind closed doors with a group that supports criminalizing homosexuality and marginalizing LGBT people around the world? The Alliance Defending Freedom has rightfully earned its designation as a hate group by demonizing LGBT people.

“If Attorney General Jeff Sessions doesn’t condone such beliefs, he should immediately make his remarks to the group public and be prepared to defend them. The LGBT community – as well as all Americans – needs to know if he is capable of upholding our country’s fundamental promise of equal protection under the law.”

What he does after he resigns is one thing, but he works for us right now and we want the transcripts released.

I am sure that this will be met with open honesty, and not outright lies and deflection until someone gets them from a third party and we see the truth.

Hmmm. I thought it was “first, medicinal wine from a teaspoon, then beer from a bottle.” And it’s all downhill (the slippery slope) from that:
“They’ll be tryin’ out Bevo, tryin’ out cubebs,
Tryin’ out tailor mades like cigarette fiends!
      And braggin’ all about
How they’re gonna cover up a tell-tale breath with Sen-Sen.
One fine night, they leave the pool hall,
Headin’ for the dance at the Armory!
      Libertine men and scarlet women!
      And Ragtime, shameless music
That’ll grab your son and your daughter
With the arms of a jungle animal instinct!
      Mass-steria!”

Ragtime has been known to make teenagers queer. And then they vote for Democrats.

It seems to be mostly Latino players (going by their surnames).

This is the Attorney General of the US basically saying LBGTs don’t get the same civil rights as straight people.

This is an AG who democrats thought was too racist to be a federal judge.

      This is Trump’s doing.

      And Bernie Bros.

And idiots who claim the 2 parties are the same.

      • FAEN

It wasn’t just the Dems, his own party thought he was too racist to be a judge. Now he’s the fucking AG.

  • In another time and place, this one thing here would be a major item…but we have an Attorney General who appears to be complicit in the conspiracy to commit treason.

I mean, we knew going in that Session was a perfidious, racist SOB. Of course he’s also a misogynist and homophobe.

  • OT- Per 538 article. Why aren’t Democrats running anyone serious against unpopular Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona for November 2018 — who is being primaried from the right? https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/hey-democrats-maybe-you-should-run-someone-against-jeff-flake/ https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/1e4fc6b12ee65561a617015d5c3f2911b87dbd276d604e179873bbcfbea0fa63.jpg

    • Tomcat

Hey, didn’t Liberal Democrats get the man they wanted to run the DNC?

      • That_Looks_Delicious

They’re kind of both in there – Perez and Ellison are sort of running the DNC together, although Perez got the chair position. Ellison was the favorite of the Bernie supporters, Perez was the favorite of the Hillary supporters.

The problem is recruiting. Kyrsten Sinema does well in her rather progressive district (Tempe, Scottsdale and southern Phoenix), but would probably not do so well in a statewide race. Ditto for Raul Grijalva; he’s very particular to his district. Ruben Gallego could maybe do well statewide in a few years, but right now he’s very new and still in his first term.

Maybe Phoenix mayor Greg Stanton? Phoenix loves him. If he can carry Maricopa county, he could win the state.

Grassley trying to deflect this into a narrative about immigration and border security. More bullshit from the Senator from Iowa!

“If Attorney General Jeff Sessions doesn’t condone such beliefs, he should immediately make his remarks to the group public and be prepared to defend them.”

See, that’s the problem right there. I think you guys answered your own question.

  • we already know the answers. i love the SPLC and give to them, along with LL and a couple of other liberal groups. but i find these kinds of “we should! they should! it is only right and fair!” posts pointless and boring, today.

it’s nice to live in a democratic republic of laws and equality. we don’t. moreso every day. accept this, and the language you will find yourself using when they do something horrible? it will change. as will your plans for actions, and what those actions are.

the first step to combating the problem, for many left leaning folks: realize there is no way you can ever shame a republican. elected or otherwise. that ship has sailed past the far barn door and over the edge of the ends of the earth. and the shameless horse just keeps on running, away.

  • Christopher
    • The_Wretched

Which is also how we know demon summonings don’t work. A military or person with access would be doing exactly this all the time. Someone would catch it on cell phone eventually.

Incidentally, “shakugan no shana” dealt with this issue by having the ‘good guys’ casting time stop / limit reality impact bubbles followed up by full magical repair of the destroyed zone and a nice magical effect that killed people are subtly edited out of history. i.e. lots of extra work.

  • djcoastermark

If the lil elf jeffy “doesn’t condone such beliefs” why in the hell was he there in an under lock and key conference to keep out “those ” people? Just more proof we are heading to Gilead.

It’s problematic if the US – AG is having secret meetings. It strongly has the appearance of bias.
