Investigators Look For Links Between Jared Kushner’s Digital Campaign And Russia’s Fake News Bots

McClatchy DC reports:

Investigators at the House and Senate Intelligence committees and the Justice Department are examining whether the Trump campaign’s digital operation – overseen by Jared Kushner – helped guide Russia’s sophisticated voter targeting and fake news attacks on Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Congressional and Justice Department investigators are focusing on whether Trump’s campaign pointed Russian cyber operatives to certain voting jurisdictions in key states – areas where Trump’s digital team and Republican operatives were spotting unexpected weakness in voter support for Hillary Clinton, according to several people familiar with the parallel inquiries.

This administration has created more jobs than any before it. And by jobs, I mean lawyers working thru this pile of shit the GOP have inflicted upon America….

I suggest Yertle The Turtle and Co. move to Vladivostok – where they’ll feel more at home.

Excuse me, but I think it is actually Yurdel the Turdel.

at the House and Senate Intelligence committees and the Justice Department… What’s wrong with this picture?

I’m not holding my breath. 🙁

Just ordered my shirt so I can drive locals nuts in Tennessee.

    • The_Wretched

And for a pretty short 6 months in 2016. They have been in office that long now. I can’t imagine what else they have been up to since then. No really, it’s next to impossible to get as stupid and screwed up as they are.

  • Tawreos

If we had elected Vito Corleone and his family instead of the Trump family would we have more or less investigations than we do now?

Edited because I am an idiot at times =)

    • Robincho

We’d have either more or fewer…

      • pj

        or the van trapps

    • That_Looks_Delicious

I have to say that the mafia seems a whole lot more competent than the Trump family. It took them almost 20 years and multiple attempts to convict John Gotti.

    • Rambie

Irrelevant question, the *real* question is, “How much more competent would Vito Corleone be as POTUS?”

  • Proud MOFO Beaner (bkb)

I think after trump, I want to see this asshole in cuffs the most.

    • Leo

Meh. This is my list, in order:

      1. Parscale
      2. Rexxon
      3. Bannon
      4. Beauregard
      5. Turtle
      6. Ross
      7. Pompeo
      8. Mnuchin
      9. Prince
      10. Trump
      11. Rinsed Pubes
      12. Nunes
      13. Kushner
      14. Miller
      15. Manafort
      16. Price
      17. Cohn
      18. Conway
      19. Ryan
      20. Uday
      21. Qusay
      22. Page
      23. Sanders

This crooked trump family is in over their heads on this.
They are going to find out why we have checks and balances in our government.

    • Joe in PA

Let me know when that checks and balances thing starts working. ;(

But then again, we do have the press…our only hope.

      • Tomcat

Mueller is part of the checks and balances, so is the two other investigations that are being conducted right now.
If you cannot see any checks and balances explain to me why trump is so mad right now. If there were no checks and balances he would be able to do anything he wants with no recourse from feds or Congress. So lets keep it real.

    • Rambie

The GOP’ers are in charge of most of those “checks and balances” so I’m not expecting much UNLESS it looks to be hurting their reelection chances.

  • Ragnar Lothbrok

WHERE is the demand to revoke Jared’s Security Clearance
    RIGHT fucking NOW ?!?!?

    • bzrd

first lie should have been yanked

He’s a model out of the Sears catalog.

  • joe ho

Those Russian bots were quite effective in getting the far-left (Green Partiers, Slurandon, Bernie or Busters) to sit out the election or vote against their own best interests.

Whenever people say how stupid poor and middle class GOPers are for voting against their own best interests, never forget we have the same problem on the left.

    • Daveed_WOW

It’s almost as if the Right provided the funding and publicity just for that purpose.

    • lymis

They were also extremely effective in driving a wedge between Hillary’s supporters and Bernie’s. We still see people bitching about Berniebots, not realizing that they’re talking about actual bots and paid cyber attackers rather than actual Bernie supporters.

      • joe ho

        lol.

        Still in denial, I see.

They were extremely effective in poisoning Bernie & Stein supporters from backing Hillary after the primary, making them vote against their own best interest. If that’s what you mean.

I don’t know of many Hillary supporters who ended up not voting for her because of bots.

When did the Young Turks say they would vote for her begrudgingly–after a year of smearing her? About one day before the election. I didn’t realize they were bots.

I also didn’t realize Susan Slurandon , David Sirota & Co. were bots.

Mush-brained left-wing purists sabotaged the party in 2000 and in 2016. Time to call a spade a spade.

  • Friday

Unbelievable that so many insisted on voting for this pack of crooks and liars despite it being clearly-documented what their other business dealings had been like.

    • joe ho

Social scientists have clearly shown that Conservatives score high on tribal loyalty. Liberals score quite low.

That means Conservatives will vote for virtually anyone from their own tribe to keep the other tribe out of power. Conversely, Liberals will sabotage someone from their own tribe if their feelings have been hurt or if they don’t think the candidate is pure enough.

Does that scenario ring any bells regarding the 2016 election?

It’s why Conservatives win elections even though their ideas are less popular.

It’s why Liberals are inherently politically self-defeating.

      • Tomcat

        I can agree to that.

      • Daveed_WOW

We need to get tribal, y’all. I’m up for it.

      • JCF

I think there’s a hardcore third of the U.S. electorate (at least the part that REGULARLY votes!) that would *literally* prefer to have Putin for President (unlimited!) rather than Hillary Clinton for 4 years.

      • William

Hmmm, I consider myself a liberal and don’t fit that model at all.

    • Daveed_WOW

That is what really, really hurts. If they didn’t like Hillary, fine. But selecting Trump, a known crook, a known abuser, a known bigot, and a known moron was just an act of nihilistic, self-destructive meanness.

      • Nowhereman

They really thought that they could control him.

        • Daveed_WOW

I hope they all lose their Medicaid, get Medicare cuts, get smaller SS checks and lose their Vicodin prescriptions. And their tax deduction for their little rascals and hospital beds. If all this goes through, state taxes will soar simply to keep public hospitals open. (I hope they end up living in their SUVs in the Walmart parking lot.) I hope it hurts good and deep. I wish no good things for the Trump supporter.

        • William

The German establishment thought they could control Hitler by appointing him to office in 1933.

That didn’t work out so well.

      • -M-

Exactly. I don’t have time to count all the individual ways in which he’s catastrophically worse than Clinton or Sanders or a random person off the street could have been.

  • BearEyes

so much to investigate, so little time.

  • Nowhereman

Oh that would be rich if they were brought down in part for generating and directing weaponized fake news.

  • Ninja0980

Revoke this SOB’s security clearance already!

    • JCF

AND take away his (Jr’s, Manafort’s) passport!!! [How soon until you think Jr might pull a Snowdon?]

  • boobert

Let’s NOT forget it was kushner that wanted that secure line to Moscow in the Russian embassy !!!!!!!!

    • William

And Jared tried to secure a loan from Russia’s Vnesheconombank. The bank is not really a bank, it’s more of a Kremlin controlled slush fund.

  • JWC

    and the plot thickens

    • David Walker

      …and sickens.

  • coram nobis

Even if they don’t connect Russia to this one, there’s still the question of whether the campaign reported this to the Federal Elections Commission as an in-kind contribution of some sort. If they didn’t, it’s a nice ancillary scandal, or at least a large fine.
