MAINE: Nutjob Gov. Paul LePage Announces 10-Day Vacation As Government Shutdown Continues

The Portland Press-Herald reports:

Amid intense budget negotiations and a state shutdown, Governor Paul LePage has told lawmakers he’s taking a 10-day vacation. “He called the Senate president (Michael Thibodeau) and Sen. (Roger) Katz this morning to say he was leaving the state to go on vacation,” Thibodeau spokeswoman Krysta West said Monday afternoon.

West said Thibodeau, R-Winterport, told her about the call. LePage did not tell him whether he was still in the state, when he planned to leave or where he was going. LePage spokesman Peter Steele denied Twitter reports about the vacation, saying it was “100% fake news.”
