Leaked Tape Reveals Trump Telling RNC Crowd He Should Sue “Horrible Human Beings” At CNN [AUDIO]

The Intercept has published audio of Donald Trump telling the crowd at his $10M Republican National Committee reelection fundraiser that he should sue CNN. Reporters were banned from attending the event. They write:

Trump drew loud applause with his suggestion that he was prevailing in his campaign against the cable news network. “Boy, did CNN get killed over the last few days,” he said. Last week, CNN retracted a story about a Trump ally’s ties to a Russian bank; three of the network’s journalists resigned in the wake of the flap.

Trump then focused his attention on CNN commentator Van Jones, whom Trump noted was recently captured on secretly recorded audio calling the story of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia a “nothing burger,” as well as CNN network president Jeff Zucker.

“Van Jones — you see this man?” Trump said. “These are really dishonest people. Should I sue them? I mean, they’re phonies. Jeff Zucker, I hear he’s going to resign at some point pretty soon. I mean, these are horrible human beings.”

“It’s a shame what they’ve done to the name CNN, that I can tell you,” Trump went on, riffing on taking the network to court. “But as far as I’m concerned, I love it. If anybody’s a lawyer in the house and thinks I have a good lawsuit — I feel like we do. Wouldn’t that be fun?”

  • FAEN

No matter how many times you sue you will never be able to change your doll hands.

  • Ninja0980

I would just love to see all of Trump’s secrets brought out in discovery, wouldn’t you?

    • Cuberly

Well, I don’t want to watch the Russian pee pee tape. But everything else, yep.

      • April

        Title: One president. Two prositutes.

        • FAEN

Or-One alleged human being. Two prostitues.

          • Oh’behr in Minnesota

Yes, the FBI might have to put Trump under kiddie porn.

      • William

I don’t want to watch it either, but will giggle myself silly when it plays on every network.

  • Nowhereman

He’s on the right track–but it is We-the People who should sue HIS ass for lying, among other things.

  • Max_1

The ONLY institution to have protection FROM an uncontrollable and oppressive government is the PRESS… Yet, we now have a form of Governance that seeks to oppress the press, teaching citizens to equally loathe the press… FAKE NEWS, we’re told.

Has anyone ever told this nutcase to shut the fuck up to his face?

    • Todd20036

Nope. Probably not even as a kid.

  • Rebecca Gardner

    He’s completely insane.

    • FAEN

If he were insane it would almost be easier to deal with him. He’s just an overly entitled Manbaby with doll hands who has never been told no. And we’re all paying for it.

      • Oh’behr in Minnesota

Could he be a now insane, power hungry, overly entitled, man baby with doll hands, who has never been told no?

I don’t mean to toss in more descriptors or add punctuation, yet Trump is either off some meds, some meds are not working correctly, or he still really needs to see a real doctor or doctors rather than the hack he has in NYC (Bornstein, whom I think he sees once a decade or less)..

      • bzrd

He’s a sociopath who may be dealing with dementia or Alzheimer disease of which his father suffered. He never matured due to another disease called golden foot that choked off oxygen to his brain. Also, inheriting kazillions allowed him to sue anything that got in his way so he hasn’t learned that government doesn’t work that way, at least not yet, if we can get rid of him soon. He is mental

        • J Ascher

I’d lean toward Trump having dementia. That disease is characterized by paranoia and inappropriate behavior. I’ve seen that firsthand with my husband.

          • JCF

            {{{J Ascher}}}

          • J Ascher

            Thanks @jcf

          • DesertSun59

45 is much more functional tho even tho he’s being coddled by his staff. So, I don’t believe he’s going thru dementia.

          • J Ascher

Dementia doesn’t suddenly appear in a person.

With my husband, he began accusing me of infidelity about three years ago and he slowly lost his reasoning: I showed him our cash flow with a negative balance at month-end and he insisted on living in our current apartment. He thought that just because we could pay our bills, we could afford to live here. When I presented him with viable options like moving to a duplex or buying a house, he found an excuse not to move.

        • fahvel

          again, insane.

  • Todd20036

Suing CNN for printing verifiable facts is going to be a lost cause.
But please, go ahead, if it turns your attention away from the “football”.

    • teeveedub

Threatening to sue is what he does. He used that as an intimidation technique for years in the private sector. It often achieved his desired results.

In government, it’s not as effective.

      • Bad Tom

Most of the people in Congress are lawyers. Those who aren’t are rich. Since they make the laws, getting sued just isn’t so scary to them.

  • Cuberly
  • boobert

Agitate this man at every chance ! He want’s out. Drive him right to the nut house or jail !

    • FAEN

I agree. Everyone should make fun of him 24/7. He’s SO thin skinned he can’t help but act out.

        • JT

Not a bad thing when you remember that the “danger zone” was Iceman’s crotch.

  • Tawreos

I bet CNN is salivating at the prospect of getting their lawyers to question Trump under oath.

    • Halou

That’s the problem with suing somebody, the one filing the claim is also subject to scrutiny. I guess that’s why he hasn’t ordered a commission to investigate anything related to Hillary Clinton. Memories of the many many Benghazi hearings that led to diddly-squat.

  • EdmondWherever

    If anybody’s a lawyer in the house…

Pence is tainted, too. If 45 goes, he is in trouble. That is, if he isn’t removed from office first.

    • Ian

Fuckin’ bossy bottoms, I tell you what.

    • While that meme feels true, it’s entirely fabricated.

      • Boreal

Are you saying it’s an alt-meme?

    • JP

I don’t think Pence actually said this. I think it was the nutjob from TN that Trump wanted to appoint to something but once this quote got out the guy declined.

    • Raising_Rlyeh

As much as I despise this Oedpius I have to point out that that is a made up quote. While he is deplorable we shouldn’t attribute fake quotes to people. No matter how realistic it seems.

    • Can you hear me screaming at the top of my lungs???? Now I’ve calmed down after checking SNOPES.COM:
      http://www.snopes.com/mike-pence-jesus-care/

    • JCF

Not that I’m doubting, but can I have a citation on that?

ETA: Ah, it’s fake. Please remove.

      • Boreal

Why should I remove a meme?

        • JCF

Because the quote on it—per the Snopes’ citation below—is completely fraudulent. There is MORE than enough REAL bullshit w/ which to quote Pence, without going the fake route. We’re better than that.

          • Boreal

Honestly I don’t care. It’s a meme. Pence is a pig and whether it is inaccurate or not, it can stay there. This isn’t the NYT, it’s a blog. My tolerance for nit-picking is at an all time low. Flag it if you want, block me whatever. I’m in no mood for lectures.

Do I have to sign up for Twitter to tell him off?

    It’s time to 25 45!

    • Boreal

Yes, unless you can get an interview on CNN to diss him.

      • William

The only way I’ll be on CNN is if there is a tornado or UFO sighting in the area.

        “I seen it!”

  • He’s out of control at this point, and batshit raving mad.

  • joe ho

CNN gave Trump millions of dollars of free advertising. No commentary. Just played his rallies unedited. Good for their ratings.

Now their ratings are up because they’re battling with the monster they created.

They’re despicable, but not for the reasons Trump gives.

    • FAEN

Add Joe & Mika to that pile.

    The whole mess. Jesus.
The fact that President Cyber Bully is even friends with The National Enquirer dude is pretty gross.

    • Xuuths

      Pretty telling.

  • Mike_in_the_Tundra

The part that worries me is that Trump was too stupid to realize a tape would be leaked.

    • KarenAtFOH

Just more red meat for the trumpers. They’ll eat it up.

    • Jonathan Smith

      Obama taped him.

Do it Kin Jong Don, then all the lies you have been telling will be revealed in court under oath. Do you remember that list of 300 plus lies you had to admit in that court case in NJ, think how much bigger this will be. So go to it Kim Jong Don, it is time our Dear Leader crashes and burns.

He’s still bragging about the election, and he didn’t even win the popular vote.

What an insecure precious little snowflake the POTUS is.

  • Acronym Jim

Ironically, Rachel Maddow devoted a whole segment of her show last night detailing the numerous times he threatened to sue people and never followed through.

    • Nothing makes you more appreciative of Rachel Maddow than 10 seconds of Sean Hannity squawking and making your ears bleed.

  • Say what you want about hack, slanted, soulless, corporate whore media, but the more Donnykins complains about CNN, the more compelled I am to look at it. Maybe give it a quickie out back. (With protection, natch… always use protection with whores, kids.)

  • coram nobis

Yes, do sue. The defendants are then free to counter-sue for $$$$ and injunctions. If it even gets as far as pretrial discovery, a defamation suit makes the Plaintiff (that’s you, Donald) the subject of the lawsuit, and at that point evidentiary discovery is going to rummage through everything in your life now and going back to wife #1 and before.

If you still have a lawyer who is (1) not the subject of an investigation him/herself and (2) a member of the Bar, by which I don’t mean the Nine Iron Brewpub at Merry Lago, they should tell you all that.

    Bring it on.

  • marshlc

    Please please please please please……

Would so like to see his lies exposed in court – some of them, at least.

  • Jack

Oh, yes. Lawsuits are lots and lots of fun.

  • No trump, there aren’t horrible people at CNN, they’re merely reporting ABOUT the horrible sub-humans running the country.

  • Jukesgrrl

If I had a dollar for every time Trump threatened to sue someone, I could go on a really nice vacation. The rubes who entertain those notions of his are imbeciles.

  • Jean-Marc in Canada

Go for it asshole, discovery would be rather enlightening.

  • Pat

Hey Van Jones, was this another moment when Dump became ‘presidential’?

  • Gianni

Donnie should bring an applause meter with him to these gatherings. Then when he asks questions like, “Should I sue them?”, he can get hard evidence of how much his adoring fans support him on these important and individual issues. It’s fascinating how he’s been suing and threatening to sue so many people and yet doesn’t realize how tiring and pathetic he sounds using that threat. Of course, he doesn’t care what a low-life he appears to be. Donnie won’t likely sue them because an outfit like CNN has more than enough money and clout to fight back.

  • goofy_joe

I hit play, then immediately hit pause. I simply cannot listen to that man’s voice.

  • JCF

“Van Jones, whom Trump noted was recently captured on secretly recorded
