Jared Kushner Makes Rare Public Remarks [VIDEO]

CNBC reports:

With the government still using floppy disks and checking for Y2K compliance, the private sector’s creativity will help move the Trump administration past the turn of the century, according to Jared Kushner. Major technology executives met with Kushner on Monday to gather ideas for modernizing the government. Kushner, who is also President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, helps lead the White House Office of American Innovation, which he said aims to bring “business sensibility” to the government.

“We will unleash the creativity of the private sector to provide citizen services in a way that has never happened before,” Kushner said. Kushner said that his efforts are not being stymied by bureaucracy. Kushner said he is working with employees on eliminating outdated, unsustainable policies and systems that are as much as 56 years old and have held back departments like the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Defense Department.

I was kind of hoping he’d sound like Treat Williams in The Ritz.

See, I was hoping for Rita Moreno.

The deep, menacing baritone of the guy who does the Dodge Ram truck commercials…..that’d be a great fit.

        • trouble94114

I think that voice belongs to Sam Elliott. The rest of him is just as sexy as the voice.

          • Butch

I never could put a name to the voice; I just like it, and I think it’s as far as possible from the way young JK sounds, which is like a high school freshman at his first debate club meeting.

          • TampaDink

Ohhhh YEAH. I’ve just started watching the new season of “The Ranch” on Netflix…..and look forward to seeing his new movie.

I had the same thought, Marty!! It’s what saved “us” from the Cylon invasion.

Someone should check his pants. He probably pee all over himself. Daddy Trump is waiting at the back stage to give him a lollipop and a pat on the head.

      • thatotherjean

Except that Trump ate the lollipop himself, and gave Ivanka the pat on the head.

If you want to modernize the government don’t elect a 71 year-old dinosaur who is pushing the coal industry and denying climate change to the Presidency.

    • Agreed…Trump is doing NOTHING but lazy governing…he is not going out and meeting with constituents and researching issues…he is signing orders and golfing…

Lastly, his base is salivating that he is doing AMAZING work…

      • DreadPikathulhu

They’ve been told for decades by the GOP that government doesn’t work. Now they’ve got one that does just that and they’re fine with it.

I wouldn’t trust him within a thousand miles of a computer. He is the one who tried to set up a new back channel with the Kremlin using Russian equipment at the Russian embassy in order to get around US intelligence agencies that archive and assess the existing back channels. Trusting him, of all people, to oversee the “modernizing” of the systems that federal departments operate on is a mistake waiting to happen. He’ll be busy installing bugs at the Defense Department so that the FSB can read everything.

    • StraightGrandmother

      Good comment Halou

WASHINGTON (AP) — As Barack Obama began preparing to leave office, the first smartphone-toting U.S. president ordered his team to upgrade the White House’s aging technology for his successor. New computers were purchased and faster internet was installed. Not included in the modernization plans? A courier service. But that delivery method of a bygone era may be in for a comeback under Donald Trump. Despite his voracious use of Twitter, the president-elect appears to be leaning toward old tech to ensure the security of sensitive messages.

Consolidate and migrate the 6100 data centers to ‘the cloud’? Where it can get hacked by not-Russia more easily. Having 6100 data centers might be bureaucratic and it might not make much business sense, but the government is not a business and doing it that way actually helps national security.

As he says it costs $20 per user per month to operate email servers whereas ‘in the cloud’ costs just $3 per user per month. Does he ever stop to think that that loose $17 is a worthwhile expense as it makes data theft by US adversaries that much harder?

The DoD personnel database is totally not going to be bought by our adversaries and mined for data.

We’re absolutely not going to see the allies of our adversaries be given this essential details on who is serving where and in what capacity they are doing so. The undercover operatives that are working against ISIS in Syria are totally safe, right? Just like the Israeli informants we lost contact with lately…

Fake-Lawd, that has to be the most Jewish sounding gay voice I’ve heard in ages. I had no idea Kushner was a walking, talking stereotype. Even the husbotter was like “guuuurl, those Yentl slippers just flew out of her mouth”….he made me spit my coffee.

“We will UNLEASH…” did he cum when he said that?

Veterans don’t need ‘the cloud’. They and their families need to be cared for and supported by every effort of the government. If our power structure is attacked, the cloud is useless.

    • Halou

Too true. One of the main ways to carry out a cyber-attack is to cut off access to the cloud, it isolates and confuses people.
