Sarah Huckabee Sanders: Trump Will Not Invoke Executive Privilege To Block James Comey’s Testimony

The Hill reports:

The White House will not make an executive privilege claim to block former FBI Director James Comey from testifying before Congress this week. “President Trump will not assert executive privilege regarding James Comey’s testimony,” White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said during a news briefing Monday. Comey is testifying Thursday before Congress for the first time since Trump fired him last month.

Sanders’ revelation came after this earlier today:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Monday it would be “very incriminating” if the White House tried to block former FBI Director James Comey’s from testifying before Congress later this week. “There’s a possibility of obstruction of justice, flirting with it, in any event, coming out of the White House,” Pelosi, appearing on ABC’s “The View,” said about a reported discussion between President Donald Trump and Comey earlier this year about the Justice Department’s investigation about Russian interference in the 2016 campaign.
