Melania Trump Questions Kathy Griffin’s Mental Health

Via press release from Melania Trump:

“As a mother, a wife, and a human being, that photo is very disturbing. When you consider some of the atrocities happening in the world today, a photo opportunity like this is simply wrong and makes you wonder about the mental health of the person who did it.”

    Uh…Melania?

    Your husband.

    That’s all.

      • JT

It is ironic. And she doesn’t think.

      Yup – pot/kettle/black.

    • Uncle Mark

Let’s be honest. Melania would be among the first to play kickball with her husband’s head…once she’s gotten her inheritance

    • Lee Grupsmith-Pedersen

There’s probably some clause in the prenup where she has to take his side. Or something. Just no touchy-touchy in public.

      • Nathan Broussard

Think you are right there Lee, I have a feeling there is a clause that if she ask for divorce she gets nothing, if he ask for divorce she gets a “tidy sum”, it would explain her behavior on their recent European visit.

    • Mrs. Councillor Nugent

Dear Malaria, the last part of your statement is very much in doubt.

      • Prost Seattle

Is there a photo in existence where she looks truly joyful? Not just smiling, I mean pure unadulterated joy. I haven’t seen it on her face nor on 45s.

Honestly it makes me sad. I’m not a wealthy man, but I know what love and joy are, so I’m rich.

    • teeveedub

Is anyone looking to Melania as an arbiter of who is mentally healthy?

  • pj

oh give me a break. outrage from melenoma? bitch please

    • pj

i question the mental health of a woman who wears a 50k coat.

  • Chris Lion

Seriously, girl? I’d say to look at your husband, but it’s pretty clear you don’t like doing that (the one thing we can agree on…)

  • edrex

since when did you begin to care about mental health?

  • IAMBOWLINGGREEN

    • Blake J Butler

To be fair only three of them are worth a damn, the Slovenian Queen and the alleged Hollywood mattress aren’t real ladies. Especially with her “just say no” shit and her and her husband’s lack of response to the AIDS crisis.

      • Robert Flanagan

She was known to give the best BJs in Hollywood!

        • Christopher Smith

Well, she had to have *some* skills to make up for her lack of looks AND utter paucity of acting talent!

          • JCF

Come on. I ALWAYS think that going after someone’s looks is beneath us…

          • Christopher Smith

Oh please. When their looks are not only their only selling point but are as well vastly overrated? Not even slightly.

    • safari

The pose and shadow always make me think she’s peeing.

      • KCMC

with tp flying in the breeze

        • Todd

Pardon me, Madame First Lady, but you seem to have a piece of Charmin stuck to your vajayjay.

          • David Walker

Don’t squeeze it or we’ll have to sic Mr. Whipple on you.

          • Todd

There was so much wrong with those Mr. Whipple commercials. First of all, what kind of person walks through a grocery store squeezing rolls of toilet paper? Second, why did Mr. Whipple care so much? Did he think someone appointed him toilet paper czar?

          • KCMC

Todd, yer killin’ me. Don’t stop.

          • Todd20036

            Please don’t squeeze the Charmin.

          • Todd

I wouldn’t come within 25 feet of it if it were attached to Melanomia’s vajayjay, let alone get close enough to squeeze it. Although, it just occurred to me that if Donald tried to grab her by the pussy, it might get stuck to his hand.

      • JT

How do you think she snared Drumpf?

      • I’m pretty sure that might be Donnie’s kink there.

    • katkelly57

One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn’t belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?

Brought to you today by the letters F and U and the number 2!

      • Todd20036

        And… NOW I’m old.

        • katkelly57

Naw….only if you think you are.

    • Buck Davies

Whatever happened to art and free speech? I am not saying that speech shouldn’t have social consequences, but why should Kathy apologize for making art?

Why do conservatives get to be butt hurt and call Kathy a meanie, but the nooses around effigies of Obama’s neck and anti-trans bullshit from conservatives like Milo get to be “free speech”?

Sounds like snow flake behavior! Trump has the most powerful position in the world. He will be the subject of gross and offensive art once in a while. This is the kind of art that 1st amendment is designed to protect.

      • Rob

Did you say the same thing when they posted pictures of Obama pasted onto people being lynched? Because that falls under the same “free speech” and “making art” as this Griffin piece. I protested those vile images, I’ll do the same with this one. If your standards change because of who is in the Office, it says a lot.

        • Nick in Pasadena

When the person in office is as vile as Trump, my standards do change. He promoted hate and bullying constantly in his campaign. He has no regard for anyone but himself. He would gladly do away with anyone who doesn’t serve his purpose or give him constant adoration. The pictures of Obama being lynched were created because of the color of his skin–not (primarily) because of anything he did or said. Kathy Griffin’s “art” is motivated by the hateful words and actions of Trump, not the color of his skin. There’s a world of difference.

          • Rob

No, there isn’t a world of difference. Griffins “art” is motivated by publicity, nothing more. I’m not against mocking and belittling the man, but I am against imagery like that being put out there. It does nothing but damage to the work being done to try to mitigate this monstrous individual. (And I REALLY disagree about the use of death imagery against the President, regardless of his party and his motives. It was wrong over the last 8 years, it didn’t stop being wrong in January.).

        • AW

a difference I find is, Kathy’s image (while violent) is art. What the effigies of Obama was, was racism. The problem that those people had with Obama was that he’s black and liberal. While the problems with Trump is, he is actually destroying the US and the world. These aren’t apples to apples, this is apples to racist shit.

          • Sam

This. Everyone in their rush to outrage seems to have overlooked the context in which this image was created. This was not simply some random selfie that Griffin created as a bad joke. This image is from a photo shoot with celebrity photographer and artist Tyler Shields. Anyone familiar with his portfolio would see that this is hardly the most shocking scene he has ever created.

The best examples are toward the bottom of the page:
            http://www.tylershields.com/photos/

If this photo had been released as intended in an art gallery rather than by Trumps pals over at TMZ, Griffen would never have been forced to apologize to the Internet and lost her gig at CNN New Years Eve.

          • BobSF_94117

I went through the whole page. The Trump head is certainly worse than any of them because of who it is. A couple are perhaps equally gory. In a world where gore can equal art, I suppose they’re “artistic”.

I did like the handbag photos.

          • Buck Davies

I agree with you here, AW. But I would still support the rights of the racists to have freedom of expression. It’s ugly…but it’s the cost of living in a free society.

The best way to fight them is to have better ideas. Being offended is simply not enough.

These racist right-wingers are slaughtering us lefties on this. We need to stop being “offended” and start fighting back with better ideas because we usually always have the better ideas.

We should never shy away from asserting our constitutional rights, especially in this political climate.

We’re living in an alternate universe where the POTUS during his campaign bragged…literally BRAGGED that he can go shoot somebody on a New York street and not suffer any consequences to his campaign.

We live in a world where a climate-change denying douche can brag about grabbing a person’s private parts and still get elected.

We’re living in a world where a candidate for congress can assault a reporter and still get elected.

The train has left the station.

And when a goofball (but fabulous) comedian (and consistent supporter of the LGBT community) does an artwork of a bloody fake Trump head and we’re “offended”?

I hope I don’t come across as too aggressive or extreme about this. And I really appreciate all the different opinions on this topic – and am willing to be proven wrong and change my mind. But I really, really feel strongly about this.

I 100% support Kathy and stand by her right to freedom of artistic expression, even if it’s in bad taste – even if it’s grotesque. And to be consistent, I’d support the same rights for someone on the opposite political spectrum – yes, even the racists (as long as they [on either side -left or right ] are not _”explicitly”_ advocating violence against someone or a group).

Rob, I am willing to change my mind about whether or not Kathy’s stunt harms our movement. But if your only argument is that it’s offensive, then that isn’t something that will change my mind.

Of course, you are not “obligated” to try and change my mind. But it is an interesting conversation 🙂

          • Rob

The people making the lynching stuff could call it art as well. You think what she did is art, I don’t. It’s vile and offensive and I’m glad she apologized. And stop a minute and think. The same arguments you make against Trumps ruining the country were held by the people who made those lynching memes. It all depends on what side your on as to the perception. What she did wasn’t productive and will be used against progressives for years.

      • Buck Davies

Sorry – meant to post the above to the main thread – not as a reply.

  • Jonathan Smith

  • Rex

As a citizen, a son, and a human being, your husband is very disturbing. When you consider the atrocities happening in the world today, your husband pushing his way through to be in the front for a photo opportunity shows just how selfish and narcissistic he is. And, girl, we’re all wondering about the old man’s mental health. And in his case, his mental health is going to ruin all of ours.

  • As someone who frequently calls out conservatives on their blatant hypocrisy, and as someone who has harped on others for suggesting/joking about the death of then President Obama, I have to agree with the First Lady here. Mrs. Griffin’s intentions were likely innocuous, but one does not ever joke about physical harm coming to a President. Ever.

    • Publius

There really is no excuse for that sort of vile imagery. That’s not how we do things in a 21st century liberal democracy.

    • The Milkman

Agreed. Comedians always push boundaries, and sometimes they go too far. Kathy Griffin is much in the mold of the late Joan Rivers, in that she is loathe to apologize for a joke. But this time, she and the photographer/artist went too far, and she was big enough to apologize.

  • HZ81

    Fuck you, bitch. Fuck you.

  • KQCA

I do wonder who it was around Kathy Griffin who told her, “Yeah, go ahead, this is a good idea. You should do this.” This decision was a bad one.

Now, Melania, let’s talk about your lifetime of bad decisions.

  • Blake J Butler

Bitch, you got daddy issues because you obviously married a man that looks like your father on the outside, and on the inside since your childhood friends say your dad reminds them of your husband.

And look who you married to, i know the first lady is suppose to be wise and full of good advice but first you are not a lady, and secondly you have no advice to give other than fashion advice, and three, you contradict yourself because you are married to a man with severe mental issues.

Only i wish someone would give him a padded room resembling the oval office, with a candy smartphone, and no access to twitter.

    • David Walker

“…because you obviously married a man that looks like your father on the outside…”
      Mel’s father is orange, too?

    • Publius

      Couple things:

      1. Why are you referring to a woman as a bitch?

      2. Melania Trump is not reading your comment. Who are you talking to?

      • Jonathan Smith

        1)because she is?
        2) you troll

        • Publius

Calling someone out on their sexism and illogical reasoning is not trolling. The longer you think it is, the less entitled you are to believe people like you didn’t create President Donald Trump.

          • David Walker

Out of curiosity, which is it?

      • barrixines

Of course Melania isn’t reading it. She’s now had her face pulled so tight she is registered as legally blind. But Donny 3 her seeing eye helper monkey does relay all the important stuff such as Blake’s comments and new season hemlines directly to her.

        • Publius

No, nobody other than JMG readers are reading these comments. This open letter format of commenting is nothing more than bolting even tighter these ideological echo chambers that encapsulate these comment sections.

          • Boreal
          • andrew

Troll is merely a term we too often use to identify people with whom we disagree. It’s a term that is too often used to intimidate and quiet those with opposing points of view. In order for democracy to thrive, we should be encouraging free and open debates of every issue everywhere.

          • Boreal

Wrong, it is term to identify those that troll. Free and open debates are possible only with those prone to reason. Asking others to engagetroll drivel is like asking them to willfully step in vomit or shit.

          • barrixines

People are angry and letting off steam. You want to be forum policeman be my guest but I think your outrage is misdirected.

  • Reasonoverhate

She should have stopped with the first sentence!

    • Jonathan Smith

      she just should have stopped.

  • Kevin Perez

I think that it’s funny that Donald Trump’s mail-order sex doll thinks that her opinion is important.

  • barrixines

It must be her accent because every time she speaks it sounds like she’s saying “Talk to me Harry Winston”.

Hahahaha. Your husband decided to kill the planet today.

    • edrex

      you win.

    • Uncle Mark

At least Kathy’s photo was symbolic; no where near as destructive as Drumpf’s daily atrocities.

      • JCF

        THIS.

    • penpal

She doesn’t care that she’s a hypocrite. She’s interested in winning. She’s interested in power. Liberals really don’t understand that when our party points out all the dirty tricks and hypocrisy of the right, they just don’t care. They’re a majority party that represents a minority population. Do you think that happened by accident?

      • j.martindale

You mean the gold digger didn’t fall in love with tRump’s manly good looks and big…hands?

      • Hunter M

She’s in it for the money. And only the money.

  • Michael R
    • katkelly57

That laugh turned into a full blown gasping for air and choking session……tooooooooo funny.

  • A gold-digging illegal-immigrant whore said what?

    • Publius

A gold-digging illegal-immigrant whore. Well, I hope you don’t complain about the poor state of discourse in America.

      • Stephen Elliot Phillips

I know! Hes wrong in saying that. Melania is actually a gold digging, illegal immigrant, mail order bride. Not a whore.
The liberals need to get their facts straight

      • Adam King

The phrase “gold-digging illegal-immigrant whore” is an excellent bit of discourse.

      • Boreal

Your concern trolling is duly noted.

      • What part of that wasn’t true? Was whore too mean? What is the nicer term for someone fucking another person’s spouse?

    • ChrisInKansas

More like a White House staffer said what?

      • Stephen Elliot Phillips

really. Eva Braun aka kellyann wrote that

  • ChrisInKansas

    Bitch, please.

  • Skokieguy [Larry]

Kathy was referencing Trump’s “blood coming out of her whatever” comment and even said so. Do tell me, our First (gag) Lady, were you, as a mother, wife and human being, outraged then?

Let us know your feelings about Mexicans being mostly rapist and murderers.

Do tell me, as a mother, wife & human being, your stand on bragging about sexual assault.

    • Lizard

Yeah, she lost the right to criticize anyone “as a wife, as a mother” a long-ass time ago.

    • prixator

I am sure she is getting a big bonus for allowing her name to be attached to that press release (which she surely did not write).

Maybe more time away from the Dump?

  • rusty57

Back in the day women like Mrs Trump were referred to as harlots. No decent person would be seen with them, let alone give anything they say any credence.

    And those tits aren’t hers.

    • Jonathan Smith

sure they are. He PAID for them, didn’t he?

      • ChrisInKansas

        Then I guess they’re his?

          • Adam King

            Years. Decades.

          • Derrick Johns

            Yeah, I agree, David Walker

          • katkelly57

Once was enough for me w/Old Yeller.

I was truly upset with Dumbo…..still am if I hear, Baby of Mine.

          • Well, there was the implication when Lady was at the pound. Happened off-screen. And I can’t watch that scene with the dogs howling “No Place Like Home” without ugly crying. Ugh. Just. UGH.

Saw most of Old Yeller. I skipped the end. I don’t need to pass out due to dehydration via sobbing uncontrollably.

    • katkelly57

Those photos of them are kinda strange…seems her nips are pointed upwards in opposite positions….like a TV antenna searching for a signal.

      • Adam King

NO, MELANIA, NO, you do NOT get to question Kathy’s mental health when your husband is the reincarnation of Hitler, you stupid bitch.

  • barrixines

As a fellow human being, considering the ongoing war against fifty percent of the population of this planet, I wonder about the mental health of a woman with a self confessed sexual abuser of a husband who would make a photo opportunity like this.

    https://thenypost.files.wordpress.com/2016/10/afp_h03ah_134745373.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=664&h=441&crop=1

    • Christopher

Even in this pic you can tell that her tits were poorly constructed.

      • barrixines

Quite unforgiveable really – with all the resources at her disposal she should have a magnificent rack.

  • Bad Tom

Mrs. Trump, Kathy Griffin apologized. She felt she went too far. She was sorry for her stunt.

None of the thousands of people who made images of President Obama being murdered, or hanged, or burned uttered a word of apology. Indeed, those people still blame Obama for everything.

Your husband egged them on. For years.

You reap what you sow, ma’am.

    • Adam King

Republicans are as incapable of accepting an apology as they are of offering one.

    • Kruhn

Wish Kathy Griffin had thought twice before posting her picture. I agree, contrary to Mrs. Trump’s husband, Kathy apologized and none of the assholes who now proudly take their pictures with His Cheetohness ever apologized despite threatening Obama’s life various times. Nonetheless, Kathy’s little stunt is now the topic du jour and an easy stick with which to beat up liberals with.

And the turtle’s name is Mitch McConnell, right?

          • You win the thread. 🙂

And she actually apologized, not the not-pology we’ve come to accept from garden-variety Rethuglicans.

  • Stogiebear

Melania, honey. Don’t talk. You’ll ruin the fantasy.

  • Charlie In SF

I thought Melania was making online bullying her special cause, and here she is, engaging in it. She’s no different from her husband; just better packaging.

    • TuuxKabin

Saw better packaging curbside for the garbo’s to pick up this morning.

  • andrew

As the wife of Trump and mother of one of his children, Melania’s reaction to Kathy’s way over the top stunt is understandable.

    • Adam King

She could graciously accept Ms Griffin’s sincere apology and put a sock in it. Her problem is the “graciously” part.

    • Jonathan Smith
      • KarenAtFOH

        What a Dad!

    • MikeBx2

I don’t believe that really is her reaction, but rather whoever’s responsible for putting out statements for her. But even so, her concern as a wife and mother seems extremely disingenuous considering her husband’s history, don’t you think?

      • David Walker

Or her history, for that matter. (Where is today’s troll? Yes, I went there. Perhaps she’s “seen the light,” but not as many as in the photographers’ studios.)

    • Boreal

Yet she says nothing about the things her shitgibbon husband says or does.

    • BobSF_94117

Whatever her personal reaction might have been, responding publicly is most certainly not understandable, not as his wife, not as a mother, and not as a First Lady.

  • Uncle Mark

Oh, the irony overflows. I don’t know where to begin

  • Lindoro Almaviva

I find it incredibly interesting that they have mustered enough rage over this after 8 years of saying, and doing, and threatening to do horrible things to Obama. All of a sudden this is a problem now, NOW that you are on the receiving end of it.

So it was not out of line, or horrendous, or disrespectful when YOU did it to Obama, but now it miraculously it is? Well, isn’t that interesting?

And for the record, Griffin should have known better and the backlash from RESPECTABLE people on both sides is well deserved.

  • grada3784

And here I thought Griffin was just having fun with Trump. Like the conservatives did with Obama.

    • Halou

      Locker room talk.

  • Halou

Where was her concern when her husband said he could shoot and kill someone of 5th Avenue and not lose any voters? How did she, “as a mother, a wife, and a human being”, condemn the maniac who had an American soldier and dozens of civilians killed in Yemen, many of them children and one of which was an American citizen?

  • dcurlee

Oh honey I think you should be more concerned with the mental health in your own family before throwing stones

Oh Melania. That poor taste of a picture might shocked Baron temporary, that is if he has not had the freedom to go on the internet to be shock with more images. But pulling US from the Paris Accord will definitely choked him to dead when he becomes an adult. Indifferent to health of our environment might not be a mental illness, it’s definitely more deadly than a quasi comedian posting a picture for shock value.

    • David Walker

One would also think that seeing pictures of his naked mother posing provocatively in a way designed to make little things grow might do a little harm to the poor child, too. “This is mommy in her younger days.”

Hey, Dems. Take a note from Republican media – they are hypocritical and disingenuous pearl-clutchers but they know how to generate outrage. Learn from them. You have a narcissistic lunatic running the country. Every day he gives you reasons to generate TONS of outrage. So far I am unimpressed by your response. Yes it was a dumb thing Kathy did, but she doesn’t hold office. There, I just gave you your first talking point

    • billbear1961

Again and again and again, we see how HOPELESS the Democrats are.

Their lack of spine–of willingness to FIGHT for this country and simple DECENCY–makes one DESPISE them.

They ALWAYS let the GOP set the agenda–ALWAYS!!

They’re too goddamned lazy or too frightened to FIGHT, daily, 24/7, in print and in front of the cameras!!

But they’re always THERE, with their hands out, asking for MONEY!!

It is the failure of the news media to do their JOBS that is the main reason the republic is dying–but, hand-in-hand with public APATHY, a public that YAWNS as they watch their rights TRAMPLED upon, the spineless ineffectiveness of the Democratic party–the LACK of LEADERSHIP from them–is ALSO one of the MAJOR causes.

Obama built a large coalition of voters he and the party let WITHER on the vine.

      WHY?!

One wonders to what extent it’s their Big Money donors who STIFLE their efforts to fight for the people and democracy–if THAT has more to do with their FAILURE than any other cause!!

    • billbear1961

We have no propaganda machine to SHILL for us 24/7 the way the right has Fox, hate radio and online fascist “news” sites.

REAL journalists AND strong voices in the Democratic party–and if “journalism” in this godforsaken country isn’t going to do it, Democrats MUST!!–have got to take on and EXPOSE that right-wing propaganda machine. They must wage a non-stop information WAR (yes, an Info Wars, but a TRUE one that uses the TRUTH to destroy proven LIES) on the goddamned LIARS!! It’s too VITAL a task to leave SOLELY to well-intentioned COMEDIANS!!

Until that fascist machine is GUTTED and laughed off the stage, everything else we try to do will be built on QUICKSAND!!

  • jimbo65

I’m surprised 45 keeps up a relationship with Baron for him to care one way or another.

    • Baron is handsome. Most Slovenian boys are (I did consulting work for a while at Universities there in Information Technology), very fit and friendly place.. He has his mother’s genes to thank for that. Have you seen what the other two look sons look like? Trump is probably happy he has one who can look good in magazine ads. – and not like super rich targets from a remake of Deliverance.

  • Lizard

Oh, shut the fuck up, Melania. I didn’t hear you talking “as a wife, as a mother” when your husband was grabbing unsuspecting and nonconsenting women by the genitals.

    • billbear1961

She said nothing about Nugent being invited to the White House, despite his repeated calls for Obama’s death (and Hillary’s).

She said nothing about her husband’s repeated calls, at his rallies, for violence against his political opponents, which resulted in REAL violence against them.

She said nothing about Gianforte’s REAL violence, his violent attack on that newspaper reporter.

She’s said nothing about the fascist violence and murders committed in the name of her husband’s political “philosophy.”

She didn’t denounce vicious anti-Semitic threats against Jewish reporters during the election campaign; indeed, she said THEY were to blame, because of their critical coverage of her husband, for the abuse heaped on them.

      She’s a callous, cold-blooded HYPOCRITE.

    • JCF
  • billbear1961

Spare us, hypocrite–have your own husband–the one you can’t stand to have touch you–examined.

And, before judging Griffin, take a good look at what he AND HIS PARTY have unleashed and encouraged in this UGLY country:

No, but it does mean we can call them out on their hypocrisy, threats and incitements to violence while we criticize Griffin for going over the line.

What’s more, the roughly 28GB of data contained at least a half dozen unencrypted passwords belonging to government contractors with Top Secret Facility Clearance.

  • Jeffrey

And suddenly I fully support Kathy Griffin.

    • Jamie_Johnson

The first snowflake has fallen: squatty potty, a Utah company, has announced that they’ve cancelled their promotions featuring Griffin. Yes, these are the people who have incessantly run that horrible pooping unicorn youtube ad… talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

To that end, squattypotty.com has a contact form on their website, and I’ve already used it to send them a politely-worded note that I disagree with their denunciation and won’t be buying their products as a result. Griffin apologized for the mistake, and that’s as far as it needs to go. I encourage everyone here to send them an email stating that their reaction is egregious and unwarranted, and not that anyone here is going to buy a toilet posture device, but tell them that their overreaction is why.

And yes, I know that using corporate influence is a tool our side has used to great benefit, but that does not mean that we can’t be as two-faced as those on the right are regarding threats of or actual boycotts.

  • jayjonson

And you spoke out forcefully when your husband’s supporters posted pictures of President Obama lynched or of Secretary of State Clinton locked up, didn’t you? Oh, I see, you didn’t. Then STFU.

    • Gianni

Funny how ‘Turnabout Is Fair Play’ is never, ever in their playbook! Obama went through eight years of the most insulting, racist, derogatory, trashing of any President that I can remember and these creeps whimper about the same thing being done to them. True, it is not nice and Kathy really went too far, imo, but so did Trump for six whole years carping about and insulting President Obama over his birth. You’re in politics, now. Grow a fucking hide.

  • Gerry Fisher

“As a mother, a wife, and a human being, that photo is very disturbing.” As a former nude model and fame whore, however, it’s kinda par for the course.

  • JDS

Oh Melanoma you deluded whore living in a gilded cage.

  • Gianni

Honey, you are married to the creature. I wouldn’t question anybody’s mental health if I were you.

  • Larry Lautzenheiser

I wonder if Melanie has ever heard of NPD?

  • Buck Davies

I don’t want to minimize the cruel things that ISIS is doing, nor minimize the pain of victims and families of their acts.

But arguments that consist of the comparison of Kathy’s art project to ISIS beheadings are bad arguments.

    This is art!

How many violent gun deaths occur in the US? They are horrible of course, but does that mean we stop making episodes of CSI, or procedural police dramas, or TV shows or movies about the mafia that depict gun deaths because there are victims of gun violence?

Again – I don’t want to be blasé or minimilizing…but you can see the flaw in the logic given we live in a society that values artistic expression and freedom of speech.

This is ‘Merica after all, right?

Art is sometimes gross and violent. But of course, Kathy’s free speech doesn’t count because she’s a liberal.

Free speech only counts when you yell at religious miniroties on a train and call for genocide of an entire group people. Or when you go to a school and encite students to harass or dox trans students.

Such inane hypocrisy coming from the right…

I wish Kathy took a more aggressive stance in defending her right to expression. She could have framed this as an artistic conversation starter.

There is so much interesting discussion to be had about what her artwork could mean.

    • Hank

Very well said!!! One does not have to like the art to at least try to understand it. After all, it did NOT harm ANYONE, except, apparently Kathy G.!!!

  • coram nobis

Lady, she’s a comedian. If she’s not disturbing, over-the-top, vulgar or in very bad taste, she’s not doing her job. You never heard of giving head?

  • Mike

The walking psychodrama Melania, who traded any chance at dignity for life in the gold-painted prison being defiled by the rich, gold-painted ogre, and whom we kind of want to feel sorry for but just can’t because she’s fairly horrible herself, is the last person who should question anyone else’s mental health.

I love Kathy Griffin more than ever, in spite of the unfortunate and unnecessary apology.

  • Pip

That’s rich coming from the wife of an insane narcissist that’s determined to get us all killed for the sake of his ego. I guess if anyone would know crazy, it’s her.

  • June Gordon

Oh, honey. Who wrote that for you? Neither you nor your husband can do the “English” thing that well. And be honest: You dream about a lot worse happening to the ugly, mean rapist you married for money.

  • April

Who would have thought Melania Trump is an actual human being.

Kitten needs to apologize a few more times then lay low for a year or so.

  • Tom

I wonder if she has questioned daddy’s mental health, as it would do the world more good to do so. He is the biggest “atrocity” by far. And his “sad” mental health is obvious to all but to some of his few supporters.

  • EqualityForAll

Hey Melania – your husband doesn’t have a head to stand on. Um, I meant “leg.”

  • colo303

Can someone put together all the racist Obama photos, with their accomplice and create a list of the people who were in those photos to bring them down as well? Thanks! (for the sake of art that is).

Was Ms.Griffin stunt in poor taste? Absouletly but the Trumps and the Right forfeited the right to the moral high ground. Considering Melon’s husband bragged on tape about grabbing women pussies and did nothing while his supporterz chanted “lock her up wnd Trump that bitch” trump also invited Ted Nugget into the white house despite his histroy of vile statements incluidng tell a crowd thst Mrs Clinton can suck his gun. So yeah excuze me if I dont shred a tear for the Trumps feelsfeels
