CNN Fires Kathy Griffin From New Year’s Eve Show

The Associated Press reports:

Kathy Griffin has lost her job co-hosting New Year’s Eve on CNN after she posted online a bloody image that resembled President Donald Trump. The network tweeted Wednesday afternoon that it has terminated its agreement with the comedian.

CNN, whose New Year’s Eve coverage Griffin has co-hosted for a decade, called the images “disgusting and offensive” and had suggested Tuesday that she might not be invited back. “We are pleased to see she has apologized,” CNN said in a statement, before going on to say they were “evaluating” their New Year’s Eve show.

  • bkmn

Now how about canning some of the people you pay who support Trump that spout equally bad crap? One of the many reasons I do not/will not watch CNN.

    • another_steve

Thank you. They still have that asshole fuckbrain, Jeffrey Lord, on staff.

      Shame on them.

  • safari

Kathy did go too far with her photo shoot, I thought. But CNN, no one wants to watch your network without her hijinks. In fact, I can say it is the only time I watch your network.

    • Christopher

The ONLY time I tune in to CNN is on New Year’s Eve.

    • I’m not a fan but the reasoning is bullshit.

  • Jamie_Johnson

As I posted on an earlier threat, let’s send emails, now to CNN, that their overreaction is unwarranted and unnecessary. This has got to stop.

  • David Milley

Yeah, because I’d have any other reason to watch CNN.

  • JWC

Ok she fucked up,. she owned it, she apologized now the avenging Snowflakes are appeasing the Whiners.Kathy will have to sit a few out but she will be back. This hit the snowflakes a tad to hard

  • Gustav2

but…but…but look at who they have on their payroll for panel ‘discussions.’

  • Ninja0980

And with this, Kathy has suffered more repercussions then virtually all Republicans who did or say vile things against Obama did.

    • Gustav2

and are now on the CNN payroll

    • SoCalGal20

Not to mention all the vile shit Republicans are ACTUALLY doing to our country right now, from attacks on women and minorities, to voter suppression, gutting healthcare, etc. But Kathy posting an offensive photo is what’s important!!! Btw watch for her to be treated much more harshly than a man would be for this.

      • Goodboy

That’s at the heart of the Hillary hysteria too. Most Trumpsters are misogynists.

    • Skokieguy [Larry]

Trump said ‘bleeding from her whatever’ and the Republican voters selected him to be our President. Kathy merely provide a visual representation of Trumps words and she is losing her job.

      • His Holy-Shit the Donald

Yup. She later on twatted out just that but Kathy should’ve put it RIGHT ON the picture.

        • Skokieguy [Larry]

True, so the image, unless it was altered, would convey how it ties back to Trumphole’s own words.

    • kaydenpat

Yep. I guess that shows that our side is better in holding people accountable for misbehaving.

      • penpal

Yes, I’m sure Republicans are going to take that virtue under serious consideration when they successfully steal the next election after their success with stealing this one. Apparently even having a vicious sociopath in the White House hasn’t been enough to wake up the finger-wagging softies on the left. We keep giving the Republicans exactly what they want.

    • VodkaAndPolitics

Admit to repeated sexual battery of women, get to be president. Appear in a parody photo shoot of said sex offender, get fired.

    • david fairfield

      Well put!

    • Frostbite

Hell 45 tormented Obama with his bullshit and he made “Presedent”. At that rate KG should be Empress of the Known Universe.

    • NeverEclipsed

Well Kathy is an honorary gay man so it’s no surprise she’s being treated like one.

  • TK

I’m not saying it shouldn’t be a topic of discussion in the news, but enough already. There are more important things going on right now…namely Russia and the Paris Agreement.

Fucking news industry is a joke.

    • Blake Jordan

Interest that red is the color used to indicate the same belief in this “debate”, who created this map?

    • This is today’s story, but no, the “news” media wants to talk about a comedian’s joke. We are truly fucked as a country.

  • Texndoc

It’s a once a year New Years gig. I just saw a newsfeed that upcoming venues are cancelling her. Apparently she works outside of NY eve.

    • JWC

NYE is 6 Months away who knows if CNN is still around then

    • Duh-David

I’m surprised anyone is canceling her shows; she still sells out her tour every year and has to add on extra shows. But these days “christian” drive-in movie theaters cancel blockbuster films for being too progressive and leave thousands of dollars on the table to show Facebook how conservative they are.

  • shivadog

Conservatives will line up to defend her right to free speech……….any minute now.

    • kaydenpat

      Hypocrisy is real.

  • And yet a man who openly boasted about sexually assaulting women, and who has confessed twice to obstructing an FBI investigation became and is still President…

    • jimbo65

If he took a pic of him holding Obama’s severed head it still would have gotten him elected.

      • UrsusArctos

        By a larger margin. *sigh*

  • JWC

It sure gave the wounded Trump a whole shit load of deversion from Russia

  • Kelly Lape

CNN will be added to the blocked channels on my cable tv.

    • WitlessProtection

      It wasn’t already?

    • kaydenpat

      Never watch it.

  • JT

While CNN continues to employ wingnuts for “news” and Hannity goes back to his job at Fux Noise.

  • ikahana

We do this too much – we play along with the “LOOK! OVER THERE!” game of the right. We allow them to lead the dialogue. We allow them to dish out the consequences and bend over backwards to apologize. They never do any of this. Not a bit. This is all a great big noise over a very minor, minor little comedian’s bit that backfired. Move along. That’s it. There are HUGE issues going on right now. CNN probably shouldn’t have a New Year’s Eve Show. Griffin will be hired by someone else. Life will move along. The far right will continue to be in charge while the left once again circles their wagons and starts shooting inward.

  • Skokieguy [Larry]

And “Griffin” will be the new Soros / Benghazi / Email insta-reply anytime Trump or his surrogates are criticized for being evil, disgusting or simply annoying.

Spicer: Trump has announced to lower police deportation costs, babies of undocumented Americans will be shot with air cannons over the wall into Mexico.

Media: *collective gasp* Sean, the President is suggesting the United States torture and kill babies?

    Spicer: What about Kathy Griffin?

  • Gigi

Libs apologize and they still get fired. Cons double down and not only do they not get fired, Trump tweets out support and invites them to the White House.

  • Nathan Broussard

Wait, CNN is still on the air?

  • Ross

CNN has on one vile Trump mouthpiece after another, all spouting 100% lies, and CNN even EMPLOYS vile Trump mouthpieces…yet Kathy made a single crude political commentary, for which she apologize for, and SHE gets canned?

    • justmeeeee

yes, for that she gets canned. grow up.

    • Goodboy

      1. Fire her but prove yourselves as hypocrites.
      2. Let her stay on and take the heat. You just know that Rethugs were just never gonna let this go.

#1 was of coarse the safest way to go. Plus, they’ve still got Cooper.

      • Uncle Mark

Given CNN’s “integrity,” once the Trump treason investigation really gets rolling this summer/autumn, they’ll invite Kathy back for NYE. The lion’s-share (or lying-share) of Trump supporters don’t watch CNN. Their Messiah has declared them fake news.

      • His Holy-Shit the Donald

The thing is, the trumpanzees outraged at this didn’t & wont’ watch CNN , anyway but they know they can make enough liberals feel guilty about Kathy & sing along with them.

  • Proud MOFO Beaner (bkb)

As soon as I saw the photo I knew this would be the result. The sad and infuriating truth is the left is held to different standards than the deplorables. Anyhoo, as “art” it was’t compelling and struck me more as self-promotion which is par for the course with KG. I’m just surprised everyone on this shoot was so tone deaf as not to anticipate this response. A much more compelling image would have been something like the der speigal cover below

    • Waarki
      • another_steve

As far as U.S. Presidents past and present go, Richard Nixon is the major beneficiary of the Trump horror we’re currently living through. His crimes pale in comparison to Trump’s.

Second to Nixon on the “winner scale” is Bush the Idiot from Texas.

In retrospect, that boy seems like an articulate statesman, compared to Trump.

        • BobSF_94117

We are going through this because Nixon wasn’t prosecuted. Otherwise a tiny footnote in history, Gerald Ford profoundly changed this nation.

    • Blake Jordan

Its because when someone on the left does/says something “wrong”, they face the fury of the right and left…
While when someone on the right does/says something wrong, it is only the left calling them out!!!

It’s why the lies and exaggerations about Sec. Clinton during the campaigns had more staying power / effect than the truths about Donnie!!!

  • thom

    Seems appropriate.

  • kevway

And it’s going to be their loss…’cause it won’t be the same.

  • Rex

I have a love/hate opinion of Kathy Griffin. She can be absolutely annoying at times which I hate. She’s been an incredible ally for the LGBTQ community, which I love.
She made an very poor decision and is paying the price, that happens to a lot of people in the public eye. Let her get on with her life. Some voters made a poor decision in voting for Trump and now we’re all paying the price. This needs to take priority over a rush to judgement for a bad decision by an artist.

    • kaydenpat

I agree. I hope our side doesn’t let this issue take up too much space when Trump and ilk are literally dragging down the country. Focus people!! Focus. Ignore the squirrels!!

big mistake cnn. nobody is going to remember this in 7 months.

  • Rocco

To use the mantra of the Trumptards…what about her right to free speech?!? Lol…in the long run, hopefully it will benefit Kathy Griffin. I must admit, her schtick with Anderson Cooper was starting to wear thin…

  • Todd20036

There’s a reason I no longer watch CNN. This illustrates it.

  • Tiger Quinn

kathy is brilliant and a risk taker. if you think what she does is easy you should try it sometime. she has been as frustrated as the rest of us that the guy who replaced obama is a catastrophe for this country. she went too far. so what.

  • canoebum

Anderson should drop the gig, too. He doesn’t need the money and I’m sure he could think of many more fun things to do on New Year’s Eve.

He was out of toilet paper.

  • Silver Badger

Kathy needs to retract her apology and become one of the spokespeople for the ALL OUT, NO HOLDS BARRED WAR AGAINST THE pissant.

  • Jay George

Pardon me if I don’t buy into what the outrage machine is selling today. There was a ton of dirty, dirty things done with the image of President Obama over the years and somehow that was okay. Would I have done something similar to what Griffin did? No, but I wouldn’t have hung President Obama in effigy either. Also, there were decapitated Clinton heads all over the internet around Halloween. Where was the outrage then? While comparisons can be made between Trump and old King Louie, it seems we no longer punish treason by death in this country. In any case, we have never used Madame Guillotine.

    • Jay George
    • PickyPecker

Nicely said, Jay. I agree with you on all points. For me, the photo was not offensive, shocking or anything really out of the ordinary for Kathy. She makes a living by being outrageous. And yet, here we are with people ‘up in arms’ about such a stupid stunt.
And yet douchebags like Milo (and an almost endless list of other creatures) are out there and get a free pass for truly horrid behavior.
No, i would not have done such a photo shoot of the Orange menace or anyone else for that matter.
I understand actions have consequences and ‘free speech’ comes with such as well. I have no doubt Kathy will be fine in her career and wish her well. As others have said, she may have to sit out a few engagements and wrastle with a visit from the FBI or something.
I have enjoyed some of her performances in the past and most likely will in the future

      • Jay George

Same here. I’m really tired of being manipulated by the right and I’m tired of the so-called free press following in lock-step. Horrible, evil things are happening in our government, but they holler “squirrel” and we’re supposed to look away. Like you said, every single day the alt.right movement commits verbal and written atrocities, but never a word of outrage is spoken in the scale as it has been against Griffin. I’m just not going to play and I’m going to examine every damn thing I’m told too. I think what Griffin did was a mistake, but it is nothing compared to cutting funds Medicare and Medicaid and Meals on Wheels ad infinitum. Griffin committed pretend murder. Trump and the republicans are killing actual humans.

    • I thought it was a little too much so I didn’t retweet it when I first saw it. Case closed. This is the right looking for something to create a false equivalency. Right wingers made actual death threats against Obama and nothing happened to them. Kathy made a tasteless joke and all hell breaks loose. I’m not going to defend the image because I think it was a mistake and if I’d been there (on Team Griffin) I’d have probably advised her against it, but it’s hardly the worst thing anyone has ever done, which is how the media is playing it up today.

    • AngelaChanning

The whole thing saddens me because as soon as I saw the photo, I knew it would turn into a shiat show of outrage. Now we are hearing stories that Barron saw it and believed his father was killed. That is a convenient claim and I don’t buy it for a minute. Liberal female comics are held to a different standard. I believe her apology was sincere. It is a shame she had to make it.

        • TuuxKabin

Ideal. For 20 years, perched on the E/SE/S corner Riverside Drive apartment on the 26th floor a lot of us would watch the fire works in Central Park, Queens, Brooklyn, Jersey City and various ‘independent’ harbor fireworks. If the weather was bad, we only lost the eastern view of the 1964 World’s Fair Site in Flushing, Qns.

Have rightists apologized for joking about Gianforte’s violent attack on a reporter, for suggesting maybe some reporters DESERVE it?!

Has TRUMP ever apologized for inciting violence, for “joking” about Second Amendment people assassinating Hillary and any judges she might have appointed if she’d been elected?!

Pretty sick and goddamned TIRED of the fucking DOUBLE STANDARDS!!

  • worstcultever

This is as predictable as the wildly disparate double standard is infuriating ..

Anyway I think it’ll hurt Kathy for a while, but not that much. Heck, even I’m over it, but then again I’m a grown adult and not a paid repuke hypocrisy-monger.

And let’s remember Dumpy is on track to becoming the most hated person in the history of the world, even in this dumbass country. Even if Kathy’s execution (so to speak) was a serious misstep, her sentiment of “stop this world-destroying asshole” is only going to resonate more and more until it’s a deafening chorus. This might even end up being a feather in her cap, as the imagery is forgotten.

This will happen IF this is still a democratic republic.

  • MT YVR

If it’s wrong to string up effigies of various people we support, it’s bad to string up effigies of people they support. And no “but look at how much worse they were” doesn’t change it. That just ends up saying things like “Look, we didn’t kill you, we could’ve done worse” which is a pretty fucked up thing to consider the bar for conversations. Yes “they” did worse but it doesn’t mean, if we hold it’s a bad thing, that we get to do bad things because it simply isn’t as bad.

THAT SAID… it is always amazing to me how little perspective moments like this do NOT give the Right. The left fucks up, gets called on it and they do something about it. Apologize. Get fired. Whatever. The Right mirror of this is to fight it in court and blame everyone else. The wild level of disconnect from self awareness just cements, for me, that there are simply some people in this world that arguing with or trying to work with or trying to change their minds? Are just no worth it. It’s not going to happen.

But then that’s kinda my point. For me I’m pissed when it’s done for the people I support. Kathy, frankly, didn’t do any better. So honestly, her getting fired does absolutely nothing to my day. It’s called the consequence I wanted to see for anyone doing this kind of shit. (shrug)

Honestly this whole “But but but look at her” thing? So? She’s a bloody adult with a brain in her head. I get that she made a choice that had consequences by… so? Welcome to life. It’s where the rest of us live too.

    • Jay George

Exactly. The left apologizes, the right doubles down.

  • CharlestonDave

One issue that’s been overlooked in this is what role Kathy had and what role the photographer had in creating the image. The photographer, Tyler Shields, is an LA-based bad-boy known for doing edgy, provocative, celebrity portraiture (mainly TV/movie stars) that generates media attention for his subjects. He’s young, hangs out with celebrities, and has a pretty brilliant record for Madonna-class self-promotion and networking. He took the famous photo of Gary Busey wearing a straightjacket, for example. He jumped the shark with recent images of a Louis Vuitton trunk set on fire and a Birkin bag being eaten by a crocodile. You can see two other photos that Tyler took of Kathy on his blog:

So, I wonder whether the idea of the Trump head was Kathy’s or Tyler’s? In any event, Tyler is getting off scot-free on this and Kathy is taking all the arrows. Photographers don’t have a Hippocratic oath to first do no harm, but I’m surprised Kathy’s stylist or publicist or somebody didn’t step up and suggest they reconsider that pose.

    • JWC

I fully believe that when the dust has settled Kathy Griffith will benefit from this negative publicity

      • Lazycrockett

She knows how to play the game. I still expect to see her next to Anderson on NYE on CNN.

        • UrsusArctos

I doubt it. He’s pretty risk averse. She’d do it in a heartbeat.

      • ChrisInKansas

        But will Kathy Griffin?

she has bigger balls than all of them

      • jpinphx

You can’t buy this kind of publicity.

        • JWC

there are several cases where percieved career ending publicy were actually a boon In a lot of cases its because the person immediately owned and tok it on

          • UrsusArctos

If Gilbert Effing Gottfried is back at work doing voices in KIDS movies after his 911 AND Sendai tsunami jokes, anyone can move on.

          • JWC

it is those that lie and deny that go down for the fall

    • edrex

a good point i hadn’t considered. thanks for the added perspective.

    • worstcultever

I’m tired of these photogs, they’re pretentious as fuck and their images are all the same “edgy” bullshit anymore. (For a hilariously scathing treatment of this phenom/character, I highly recommend the “Sebastian Raine” episode from S3 of “Schitt’s Creek.”)

Interesting points tho, about Kathy’s people. But in the end, the responsibility for release is hers and hers alone.

    • GlennF

Someone should ask Kathy how the decision was made to go ahead with that stupid Trump head photo. Who exactly talked her into doing it?

I have a hard time believing that Kathy’s people would have allowed her to do that career-threatening photo without any objections.

I’m wondering if Tyler Shields or someone else might have pressured her or given her bad advise into doing it without consulting her publicists first.

    • BobSF_94117

I thought the alligator and the handbag was one of his best. Though I acknowledge that I am weird…

  • David

If only we could get rid of 45 as easily.

  • Ta-er al-Asfer

It was an asinine stunt that handed the conservative media something to focus on during all this Trump controversy. It was an idiot mistake for publicity.

  • Sam

Context is everything. The Griffin photo, while shocking and offensive to some, was nevertheless an art piece. The creator was celebrity photographer and artist Tyler Shields. (That’s right. A working artist, not some random idiot with a rope, a Halloween mask and nothing better to do.) Anyone familiar with Tyler Shields portfolio would consider this pretty typical of his darker creations.

Take a look for yourself. The most “shocking” images are towards the bottom.

    • Natty Enquirer

But Griffin is the fun, friendly face that everyone knows. And I presume she had final say on release of the photo. Why she didn’t realize it would lead to her becoming a pariah to mainstream media outlets, I have no idea.

      • Sam

The problem here is that she didn’t release the photo. Trumps buddy, the guy who runs TMZ released it, which means they got to define the narrative.

When you place the photo in the context of Shields previous work, and realize that it was probably intended to be released in a gallery or Shields own blog, far from the delicate sensibilities of the broader twitter-verse, it’s really not as scandalous an image has everyone is making it out to be.

From the original TMZ report: “Kathy Griffin wants Donald Trump’s head … but she wants it bloody and detached from his body. The comedian posed for the gory shot during a photo session with famed photog Tyler Shields, who’s known
for edgy, shocking pics. We got the pic before the release. During the photo shoot, Kathy joked that she and Tyler would need to move to Mexico once the pics got released, for fear they’d be thrown in prison. Trump’s critics have skewered him for inciting violence with his speech. Did Kathy do the same?”

“Progressive” NYS early voting is voting at 6AM on election day.

    • Jay George

This is the candidate Bernie kneecapped during the campaign by saying he (Bernie) didn’t think Ossoff was truly progressive. Thanks asshole, it’s hard enough electing Democrats in Georgia without throwing toxic shade. BS can now and forever KMA. #IDon’tThinkBernieIsOnOurSide

  • Christopher Street

By apologizing Kathy has thrown herself under the bus. I don’t care if the rethuglicans would never let this go, I’m used to the shriekers shrieking, hell they’d start Benghazi hearings again tomorrow if they could. Oh and fuck CNN, they have no moral high ground here, Kathy could have worn this firing as a badge of honor, now she’ll just continue on as a 3rd rate celebrity who apologized to CNN and tRump. And why aren’t the reds going after the photographer? Because he doesn’t have a vagina, that’s why.

    • She got zero for apologizing. Nothing. Rethuglians never apologize for far worse with no repercussions at all. I’m so sick of this pathetic excuse for a country.

  • billbear1961

Meanwhile, on Fox, Hannity continues to peddle deliberate LIES, disowned by his own network, about Seth Rich.

  • TimCA

We have a sitting president who has admitted on national TV to obstruction of justice, who is on tape admitting to sexual battery and who may even be guilty of treason.

And what do his supporters say? “Trump has done nothing illegal” “He’s been convicted of no crime” “Is there a specific law that Trump broke?”

I’ll get all excited and indignant when someone points to some specific law that Griffin allegedly violated. Up until then I’m only upset that she offered an apology.

    • billbear1961

You can tell the fascists, whenever they ask you about what law he has broken, that obstruction of justice is a CRIME and an impeachable offense.

It is enough, all by itself, to call for impeachment.

The moment Trump fired Comey and admitted–three times?–that the Russia investigation was the reason he did it, the coup kicked into high gear.

And I am dismayed and DISGUSTED by the opposition’s FAILURE to rise LOUDLY to the defense of the Republic.

I will NEVER forget the Democratic party’s failure to defend our democracy with all the VIGOUR it deserves and demands–their weak, cowardly, apologetic opposition to an ongoing and obvious CRIME against this Republic.

We cannot rely on the press to call out the right for their lies and extremist propaganda. For a mix of disgusting “reasons”–EXCUSES–they just won’t DO IT. They now treat deliberate lying and outright, blatant bigotry and fascism as acceptable behaviour in a genuine democracy.

When Hillary tried to point out the deplorables supporting Trump, the “free” press CONDEMNED HER FOR IT, condemned her for doing THEIR JOB!!

The Democratic party is also FAILING in the task–in ITS duty to warn the country of the FASCIST threat. Speeches like Hillary’s, denouncing the deplorables, should be heard DAILY, backed up by a litany of FACTS, from strong voices EVERYWHERE in the Democratic party, but are NOT.

Until this changes, the downward spiral will CONTINUE.

  • penpal

The perpetual apologists on the left are even more to blame than the bullies on the right for this injustice. They got their victim and there is still a monster residing in the White House. But yes, let’s continue taking the fucking high road because taking the high road has been really great as an election strategy over the last 10 years.

  • GayOldLady

Wow!!!! That was a decisive move and straight out of the gate. I suppose they had to do that to distance themselves from the accusation that they’re anti-trump

  • tim870

I’ll expect an announcement soon that she’ll be replaced with Kellyanne Conway since she has such great chemistry with AC.

  • worstcultever

Ok, THIS is the Eric Garland rant thread of holy excellence

    • Ragnar Lothbrok

That was awesome and dead on !

    • houstonray

I just started following him because of this post, thanks. I’m still new to Twitter and looking for some of the good ones. Thanks!!

  • Natty Enquirer

What was Griffin doing on CNN anyway? She’s best when she’s edgy and shocking, not when she’s pandering to a mainstream cable audience.

  • Ham

oh good lord. So she won’t be on THAT new year’s eve show. She’ll have her choice of shows or will do her own. It’s 6 months from now, she’ll probably just be siting right next to Anderson like nothing ever happened.

  • StudioTodd

Quite honestly, CNN and Kathy Griffith were never a good match to begin with. But given the things that have been said and done by so many other people who appear regularly on their network, this comes across blatantly as cowardly appeasement on the part of CNN.

  • andrew

I’m sorry she lost her New Years Eve gig because of this. She should have lost it because watching her “comedy” with AC was more uncomfortable than having a root canal procedure.

  • jpinphx

I love me some Kathy Griffin, but she had to have known that they would fire her from the NYE program after this. They were going to fire her if she swore on camera so its forseeable that they would cut ties with her after this.

  • acde

What about the Obama effigy burnings? what?….oh that. It was only black folk……,. all OK

  • John Ruff

    Cue Lifetime channel.

  • NeverEclipsed

I love that show and this sucks. She did apologize.

    • NeverEclipsed

Honestly I think I’m done with CNN and cutting my cable cord. I almost forgot they did such a fabulous job of predicting last years election. We were all so prepared for this. :-/

  • Steve Morrison

Screw CNN for reacting to a powerful piece of art that needs no apology. Yet, countless Trump actions are actually killing people.

  • Mike

Not a single person was slammed to the ground or stabbed to death as a result of Kathy Griffin’s very funny joke, so that makes her silliness infinitely better than Trump’s. I hope she gets a better gig for New Year’s. CNN is beneath her.

Still loving Kathy Griffin, still loathing Trump, and despising CNN more than ever.

  • Chris H.

Once again, two different set of rules for liberals and conservatives.

  • John Skelton

The local casino was the one that cancelled Kathy’s show. I’d suggest going to the Route 66 Casino Facebook page and letting them know how disappointed you are in them caving to an alt-right media kerfuffle.

  • Tony Adams

The biggest beneficiary here is Anderson Cooper. Griffin’s New Years Eve performance was terrible in recent years. Cringe-inducingly bad. Anderson would do better coupled with Don Lemon who gets drunk in New Orleans on New Years Eve and is quite entertaining. Two CNN queens on New Years Eve, and Sushi dropped in the giant high heel shoe in Key West? Why the hell not.

  • Jean-Marc in Canada
  • JDS

This is the stupidest thing to happen. I guess people especially Rethugs forget that effigies were hung up representing Obama.

  • Readen Reply

The only reason I watched CNN was for Kathy and Andy.

    More damn fauxrage

  • SnowFlake

Will not be watching CNNs NYE ever again. I use to look forward to her an Anderson together. CNN got it wrong!!

  • To be clear, Kathy Griffin’s actions were offensive and completely unacceptable. Yet, it is equally clear that Trump’s and the broader Conservative “outrage” over it is utterly hypocritical and has NO credibility, and even serves to underscore the inherent racism and sexism of Trump’s base.

The President’s “touching” concern for the feelings of his son Baron, clearly didn’t extend to Sasha and Malia Obama when Trump all but tacitly endorsed and even justified some of the vile threats his supporters spewed at their father.

So those with their hair on fire over Kathy Griffins’ post yet were silent during 8 YEARS of far worse, are NOT an outraged patriots. They are a racist hypocrites and partisan hacks.

  • Joseph Mora
  • B Snow

Noooo…..Oh, well, maybe now we’ll go out for NYE.
