FRANCE: Emmanuel Macron Leads Le Pen By 18 Points In Final Poll After Insult-Filled “Dirty Debate” [VIDEO]

The Guardian reports:

Emmanuel Macron appeared to have kept his frontrunner status against Marine Le Pen after a bruising live TV presidential debate days before the final vote this weekend in which the centrist and far-right candidates traded venomous personal insults and clashed over how to fix the sluggish French economy and fight terrorism.

In the prolonged two-and-a-half-hour slanging match that featured more invective than any other debate in French presidential history, Macron branded Front National candidate Le Pen an ill-informed, corrupt, dangerously nationalistic and “hate-filled” liar who “fed off France’s misery” and would bring “civil war” to France.

She in turn called the former economy minister an arrogant, spoilt, cold-eyed, “smirking banker” who was colluding with Islamists, complacent on terrorism and intent on “butchering France” in favour of “big economic interests”.

Both accused the other of taking French people for imbeciles. At one point, after a long attack saying Le Pen was lying to the French public, Macron snapped: “I’m sorry, Madame Le Pen; France deserves better than you.” More than 15 million people watched the debate.

Here’s how Breitbart is spinning the debate:

French Presidential hopeful Emmanuel Macron this week lashed out at Front National voters, branding them “anti-France” and “true enemies”. In a moment resembling Hillary Clinton’s infamous “deplorables” comment, Mr. Macron — who currently leads Front National leader Marine Le Pen in the polls — took to the stage at a 10,000-strong rally in Paris to dub Front National the “anti-France party”, branding their supporters “fearmongerers” and “extreme”.

“They’re here. It’s they. It’s they who are our true enemies,” declared Mr. Macron. “Powerful, organized, skillful, determined,” he said: “You pass them in the streets, in the countryside or on the web, most often well hidden. As hateful as they are cowardly. You know them. The party of the agents of the disaster, the fearmongerers. The French far-right. It’s here”.

The French Presidential favourite was joined on stage by the country’s Energy and Environment Minister Segolene Royal, when he called for “spirit of resistance” — a word often employed by hard-left “antifa” activists and Democrats insistent upon derailing the President Trump administration in the United States.

In September 2016, then-Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton sneered at Republican supporters, calling them a “basket of deplorables”, branding them “racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic”.

From the Express:

Marine Le Pen remains 18 points behind Emmanuel Macron with just days to go before the second round of the French election on Sunday, according to one of the biggest final polls. The Cevipof/Ipsos/Sopra Steria poll shows that Mr Macron appears on track to win an astonishing 59 per cent of the vote versus just 41 per cent for Ms Le Pen.

The Cevipof poll said 85 percent of voters are sure which way to vote, leaving at least 15 percent of voters who could have been swayed by the TV showdown last night. Polls showed that a majority of French viewers thought that Mr Macron peformed better during the debate which descended into a slanging match.

Ms Le Pen has seen a boost in the polls since coming second to Mr Macron in the first round of the election on Sunday April 23. Pollster Harris Interactive found that Ms Le Pen has gained six points since Thursday April 20 when she was at 33 per cent and Mr Macron was at 67 per cent.
