REPORT: Argentina Drops Humanitarian Award For Jimmy Carter Upon Demand Of Trump Administration

The Buenos Aires Herald reports:

The Mauricio Macri administration reverted a decision to award former US president Jimmy Carter the Order of the Liberator General San Martín — the maximum distinction that the country can give to a foreign personality — under the pressure from US President Donald Trump’s administration, CNN Español reported this week.

The official tribute, which had already been approved by the foreign ministry and was published in the Official Gazette, was cancelled after receiving a specific request by the US government, which suggested it would be better to delay it. Carter was to be given the award for his work in promoting human rights during Argentina’s last military dictatorship.

After being informed about the decision, the foreign ministry had again requested that President Macri give the award in spite of the rejection by Trump’s government since it had been made official, according to an anonymous foreign ministry official consulted by CNN’s David Cox.

Like Trump, the Argentine president was born into wealth and the New York Times reports that they’ve long had a “personal relationship” via business dealings.

Macri met with Trump in the White House on Thursday and it seems likely that Carter’s award was spiked so that the spotlight remained on Trump during his visit.

And you know that the relentlessly petty Trump would want to take revenge on Carter, who last year denounced Trump’s “lack of moral and ethical principles.”

NOTE: The Buenos Aires Herald article largely appears to be an at-times clumsy translation from the original report by CNN Español. Perhaps a Spanish-speaking JMG reader can provide any missing nuance.

    Trump is that scared?

Holy fuck. These people are vile. Trump is not fit to lick Jimmy Carter’s boots.

But I wouldn’t be opposed to that happening.

Not even the bottom of President Carters boots.

    • His Holishjt, King Donald

He’s serving it up to his supporters.

If St. Sanders wants to talk “peace” with the trumpanzees, I’d love to see him attend a Trump rally. They’re the most utterly despicable group of “so-called” people I’ve ever met.

      • kaydenpat

He would be beaten to a bloody pulp if the police couldn’t drag him out quickly enough.

        • His Holishjt, King Donald

Ironically, the very first political rally I’ve attended was the Trump 2020 in FL. It completely opened my eyes and destroyed whatever doubt I had about the trumpanzees being human 🙁

      • cleos_mom

The socialist Donald Trump isn’t much of an improvement over the uber-capitalist Donald Trump. Both of them are totally convinced of being the center of the universe as we know it.

        • His Holishjt, King Donald

It pisses me off when St. Sanders makes blanket statement like “Dems aren’t for the working class anymore”

How about he joins the Repub? They’ll gut him like a p!g for bad mouthing the party in public.

neither did the yellow toothed old Fraud who is taking money 27 bucks at a time to buy his third home and take his family to rome. He yells revolution and on and on about billionaires and millionares, because he is jealous , hopefully when they put his fat wife in prison for fraud he will go with them.

          • Lara Olena

And this, Cboo, is why we have an imbecile as POTUS. At NO point in time did Sanders say he hated rich people, nor did he say no one should be rich. He is not a communist. He is NOT anti-rich. He IS against people like my old boss, who NETS $450,000.00 A MONTH but let me and three other decently paid employees go and replaced us with people he paid less than half of our salaries, just so he could have more. And since you know everything, I’m sure you know that three years later I still can’t find a job paying more than 12.00 an hour at my age, with my background, experience and work ethic because I’m close to retirement. THAT is what Bernie Sanders is against; the abuse and greed of ALREADY rich people. No one in this country should be working a full time job at 40 hours and MORE a week and still be living in poverty. Sanders is against the mega-rich taking advantage of the average working American.

You know, I know I am going to catch hell for this but I really get sick and tired of all the Bernie bashing on this site. I was a Bernie supporter. I think he is one of the few true progressives out there and I campaigned for him. I think the DNC screwed him over and tried to side-line him every chance they had because “Queen Hillary” had to be the one to face Trump even though they should have known the Teatards would come out in drives to vote against her because they hated her with a passion. And a lot of Independents and Democrats didn’t like her either–including me.
I see Hillary as a corporate, Wall-Street loving establishment Democrat who is very hawkish on foreign policy. She was not the change we needed. Was she better than Trumpenstein? Hell yes and I voted for her.But she lost because she just wasn’t very popular. That’s a fact. You can’t pretend otherwise.
And yes the DNC needs to change. We can’t keep having the same old, same old policies. That is what Bernie bitches about. The DNC has no vision! And if it does, someone please enlighten me. It’s why Democrats keep losing. We need to wake the fuck up! But please go ahead and keep thinking that everything is just fine and dandy with the Democratic Party as it is and we will continue to see GOP victories from now until doomsday. (Which may be sooner than you think) Ok I am done ranting now. I await your arrows.

          • StSean

thank you! it’s like we’re waiting for some aenimc virgin to show up and be the politician-for-the-people we’ve always wanted.

          • SophieCT

He was not screwed or sidelined by the DNC. In fact, he was coddled. He USED our party for money and exposure (yes he is on the record saying that). NO ONE went after his shady past. Like Trump, he has still not shown his taxes. He smeared Hillary, who did not act at all like a queen (you misogynist piece of sh*t). He lied to his gullible fan club saying he could flip superdelegates, as if they were going to subvert the vote of the overwhelming majority of the Democratic base for Mr. Caucus winner. I am over the whiny BernieOrBust sh*t heads who gave us Trump. If you want to be in a Tea Party, go to the GOP where you will be welcomed like liberators. To us, you have become a cancer.

          • Octoberfurst

Oh so I’m a “misogynistic piece of shit” all because I don’t like Hillary? Really? You’re going down that path? Frankly I can’t stand feminists like you who throw feces at anyone who has the audacity NOT to like a female candidate that you personally like. I know this may come as a real shock to you but you CAN dislike a woman candidate without having a deep seated hatred for women. (Wow, who knew?) So please get off your self-righteous high horse.
What Bernie said about Hillary was true. If you want to discuss that I would be willing to do so in a civil manner but I don’t think that is your forte. Besides you have already judged me without even knowing jack-shit about me. FYI–you may recall from my post that I DID VOTE FOR HILLARY IN THE ELECTION. Or did you miss that part?
I disagreed with the Bernie or bust types. I thought that was idiotic. But Bernie is not the reason Trump won. After all Hillary did win the popular vote. Trump won because Hillary just didn’t inspire enough people to come out and vote. That is the sad reality.

          • sleepd

He was clearly shouldered out by the DNC, their emails proved it, and anyone who thinks otherwise isn’t credibly informed. DNC and Clinton campaign members WORKED WITH THE PRESS to write negative stories on Sanders, I witnessed it with my own eyes, and to say otherwise is simply spreading falsehoods.

If you want to be in a center-right wing party, go to the GOP and stop turning the Democrats into one. To true leftists, you *are* a cancer. And we are your cure.

          • joseps

Had Sanders run as a Democratic Socialist I would have had so much more respect for him. However, he chose to run as a Democrat, a party that he has criticized for years.

          • lindsayanng

Ok but here’s the thing, sometimes it’s better to alter an existing structure that is already standing and in power than to start from scratch. Sanders actually managed to make a BIG difference in the Democratic platform which is why someone can condemn a party and then run under it.. if he felt the party was ready and willing to meet him half way there is a HUGE benefit to that and also in maintaining that momentum.

          • Damn right! exactly so! I left after a decade at AmericaBlog because of it and now it poisons Joe’s site.

Bernie was not and is not a member of the Democratic Party, that is why he was not chosen to represent the party, he also disrespected the Democratic establishedment while running, who in their right mind would select a man that promoted discord along the partys’ ranks

          • Octoberfurst

True– he is a socialist who ran as in Independent in Vermont. But I think he needed to run as a Democrat to get any leverage. You may say he bad-mouthed the party but I say he is just a truth teller. We can agree to disagree.

Trump isn’t fit to eat the trash Carter threw out, and has been buried in the landfill, 20 years ago.

Also, I’m just sure the Christians who beat their chest about Christians being persecuted for standing up for their beliefs will stand up for one of their own being dissed like this. /s

    • Lawerence Collins

President Carter. Is actually what Christians, are called to be.

      • FAEN

Which is why so many ‘Christians’ hate him so much.

        • out of respect for those few real Christians that i’ve met and who are doing the walk as well as their faith’s version of the talk, i always say xtian to represent that group. they are as faux as faux news, and it’s right to despise them. but i have great respect for many real Christians. you meet those people in Div Skool.

          • McSwagg

I like to use “christainists” with the intentional embedded misspelling and the derogatory suffix. “Xtian” doesn’t have the same visceral impact for me. But to each, their own.

          • FAEN

            Understood.

Trump voters are just like this. The one with the biggest, ugliest and most gold-plated crucifix around their neck will smack their spit-flecked lips and say “We WUUNNNNN, get used to it!”

  • Halou

Another sad glimpse into Donald Trump’s human rights policy.

If you’re caught promoting human rights in a military dictatorship you’re not entitled to any credit or recognition. While not going so far as to stop all human rights advocacy whatsoever, the Trump regime wants people to do it quietly. For now at least.

    • Hal Witherspoon

Maybe Argentina and neighboring Chile could present a Pinochet award to Trump. It would be appropriate.

  • Blake J Butler

He must have gotten the memo that no one likes him, and won’t give him any awards because he didn’t earn them.

Ruin it for Jimmy, who’s been nothing short of a humanitarian his entire life. For a 70 year old toddler who was born with a silver foot in his mouth.

    https://media.giphy.com/media/UildSjm0vLJZe/giphy.gif

    • kaydenpat

And President Carter just survived a bout of cancer. Cool guy.

    • Uncle Mark

Carter spent so much of his life being selflessly, good, kind & generous …supporting humanitarian & human right endeavors without having his name emblazoned on every charity or cause versus this POS fake President, who has boastfully had his name attached to causes & charities he didn’t even have the decency to contribute a dime.

Fortunately, St. Carter does not do this for the awards and accolades he so richly deserves. Any other sitting president would be proud to have a US citizen receive this recognition. If anything, this just shows the rest of the world what a pethetic, small, vindictive and petty man infests the White House.

Lastly, anyone who is truly happy and successful with their life, would not be concerned with such petty jealousies.

  • JWC

How fucking petty >What ever you may think of Carter he is many time better than TRUMP not onlu as a President but moreover as a human being Trump how low can you go!!

  • Pat

What a vindictive piece of shit he is, but then he’s invited Duterte, a murderer who called Obama the son of a whore into the WH. Orange Shithead couldn’t shine Jimmy Carter’s shoes. Seriously, I hope he leaves the WH in cuffs.

    • Halou

He’s probably called the Argentine President to congratulate them on putting human rights 3rd place in a two way race.

      • cleos_mom

And promised to move him to the head of the line at the next ass-licking session he hosts.

    • kbhmsw

Nope. I want him to languish for at least a decade in prison.

What did other prisoners do to deserve that?

          • McSwagg

He would need to be in Solitary Confinement in a South Texas prison in a coastal (i. e. “very humid”) county.

(FYI: Texas prisons aren’t air conditioned. It’d considered to an “extravagant” expense.)

    • His Holishjt, King Donald

I have no doubt he’ll go down in history as the worst POTUS but that’s NOT my main concern.

However, it does look more & more like his presidency will last AT LEAST 4 years.

      • Oscarlating Wildely

I’m not sure on the at least. His followers are always going to be there but the key thing is the zing of the campaign is old hat, and Trump cannot reinvent himself. His “huge crowds”? Not so huge anymore. And more, those who dislike him have the negative energy that drives campaigns. I am not seeing a Trump Deux as much as I once thought.

        • His Holishjt, King Donald

The recent special elections beg to differ.

ONLY the GOP can drop him, and they won’t when he doesn’t lose them any territory or only a few.

Case in point: the GA special election. Dems could have won decidedly Tom Price’s district but they got behind a Jewish teenager whose career based out of Hollywood. I don’t even understand what point they’re trying to make here. Are they that optimistic the southerners just suddenly “woke up” from generational racisms to vote for Ossoff? Dems still don’t know their customers. Trump is sh!ting in front of a Popeyes joint, and Dems are opening a steamed broccoli stand to tell the obese customers they need to eat better.

The Russian story seems to be diluted down by the week. It’s been at least 9 months since the FBI investigated Tramp and Trey Gowdy would’ve had at least 3 investigations to smear Hillary in less than a month. It’s NOT about finding anything, it’s about a spectacular smear campaign that he could put on.

Unless the GOP can sufficiently self-destruct (i.e. Newt Gingrich) the Dems will just keep proving to each other which one of them is “holier” than the rest. It’s a losing game. The red voters want the “least” dirty candidate, while the Dems won’t settle for anybody less than Jeebus

          • Claude Jacques Bonhomme

The problem is unifying a coalition against the GOP and its well oiled propaganda machine, that even infiltrated or corrupted the adversary.

          • thatotherjean

            I wish you were wrong.

        • McSwagg

I’m concerned that his base will endevour to anoint him Trump Dieu in the Roman Imperial manner.

  • What scariest thing about Trump is how petty and mean-spirited he is. Carter can’t hurt him in the least. This would have been a tiny two-paragraph news story. But he can’t let anyone who criticizes have anything if he can possibly stop it.

    • His Holishjt, King Donald

It’s scarier that he KNOWS exactly what his base wants but the Dems keep underestimating him as “stupid”

      • Todd20036

It’s both. Trump is a fucking moron, and that is exactly why his base loves him

        • His Holishjt, King Donald

Trump’s insane but NOT a moron since he seems to know how to win a fight, whom to hire, and most importantly, how to keep his supporters happy.

Can’ say the same about Dems for the last year, including Warren, Obama, the Clintons, “DINO” St. Sanders and the entire DNC.

      • I don’t think he’s actually stupid. I do think he’s intellectually lazy. He just can’t be bothered to learn about an issue before talking about it. I find that dangerous for a president. But he’s very skilled at self-promotion which is his real claim to fame. He’s not a good businessman, but he is good at keeping his name out in front of the public. And he rode that self-promotion bullshit all the way to the white house. Our media elites on the other hand. Morons almost every one. He played them for 18 months.

        • His Holishjt, King Donald

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

He knows his strengths and weaknesses very well and how to maximize the chances of getting what he wants . He’s the Kaiser Soze who successfully convinced people he aint’ the devil.

Trump is frighteningly good at knowing whom to hire. Until a month ago, Kellyanne hit all the right note with his base and was a perfect compliment to Trump’s weaknesses. Same goes for Mike Pence.

On the other hand, Hillary hired the media shied Robby Mook and picked the boring Tim Kane. She’s a super smart woman but doesn’t know where her weaknesses are.

          • I think you make good points. I don’t think that Trump is some sort of evil genius. If we didn’t have such a shallow and self-absorbed media/news culture Trump would have never gotten past the New Hampshire primary. But the same people who used to treat him a a celebrity promoting the new season of The Apprentice kept treating him that way running for president. That was also because no one in those offices thought he’d ever become president. You could see it on their faces on election night. What the fuck did we just do? But never now they can’t admit how complicit they were. Trump played the media like Yo-yo Ma plays the cello. He’s not book smart but he does know how to promote himself and how to keep the press talking about him. Meanwhile Clinton wasn’t doing interviews. She was already perceived as cold an aloof and that didn’t help. Hers was not a well run campaign and the worst part is that she didn’t seem to learn a single lesson from 2008. Well, now that’s over though and we need to look ahead. We need to think young, fresh and not the same old tired faces. Think Obama 2.0. But different because 2020 will be a different time than 2008. But someone coming along in a similar way. Voters will want a change and you don’t deliver change with the same old tired people everyone is already sick of.

            Still, she won the election.

          • His Holishjt, King Donald

She’s not in the White House. Her popular vote amounted to nothing more than a talking point and if you trust the recent polls, only ~ 60% of her voters would still vote for her today.

I have to say, of all my fallen idols, HIllary & Obama might be the very worst 🙁

      • BlindBill

Do not credit him with crafty guile … he is a bully, and in that appeals to others who are either bullies or admire bullies ….. his base mimics him in pettiness and hate for others ….more coincidence than the result of a plan.

        • His Holishjt, King Donald

“more coincidence than the result of a plan”

He campaigned EXACTLY where they would buy his MAGA message. That was no coincidence.

    • kaydenpat

It’s especially scary that a foreign government could be so easily swayed to go along with Trump’s pettiness. Not good.

    • BudClark

Oh, but PRESIDENT Carter CAN hurt him SEVERELY, merely by BREATHING and being an example of what a REAL Christian IS.

Attacking President Carter is like … oh … putting rouge and tassels on the Blessed Virgin Mary’s nipples.

  • His Holishjt, King Donald

    Another WIN for his supporters.

He knows EXACTLY what they want and he’s serving it to them, by the buckets.

Meanwhile, it’s utterly demoralizing that the Dem party isn’t taking advantage of this momentum, AT ALL. Pee-sident Trump’s practically gutting the R party, alienating the REAL and powerful conservatives by importing a bunch of trumpanzees but fake Dems like St. Sanders is too busy making blanket statements like “Dems are sell outs” and Maxine Waters with her “the Russians hacked our election.”

Perhaps, president Bannon’s vision of “bring everything crashing down” wasn’t a fantasy after all.

Sorry I’m being pessimistic here on a Sunday. Just need a little vent after watching Bill Maher. He was and si right ABOUT nearly EVERY FREKEN THING. You’re NEVER going to flip the red voters by facts. NEVER

I know, right? I just peeked in on Breitbart, which I haven’t done in weeks. What a fricking cesspool of stupidity, hate and ignorance that is. Just about every single comment on every single story makes me feel like I need a Silkwood shower. “Deplorables” is actually too nice a word.

  • Michael

Jimmy Carter is the best ex-president in my lifetime. I just want 45 to BE an ex-president.

  • greenmanTN

How ugly do you have to be to hate on Jimmy Carter? Since leaving the Presidency he has basically worked with Habitat For Humanity and spoken out for human rights everywhere. He is one of the reasons I still believe all Christians aren’t hateful.

I actually went to Washington DC for Carter’s inauguration. The parents of my best friend at the time were both from Georgia, so they were WAY into him as a sort of state pride, so we took a charter bus to be there.

I have been on edge about this for weeks, but I now realize that my rage at him won’t go away until he finally passes from this earth.

I wonder how much money a GoFundMe campaign to outfit a van to circle the White House with giant screen TVs with messages for Donald Trump could raise. It sounds like a business opportunity to me. Perhaps you could buy a circuit around the White House with your message for $20 each.

At his creditor/mentor Putin’s behest, it appears Dumpy is trying to develop an Axis of Fellow Kleptocratic and/or Murderous Pricks.

People like Erdogan, Duterte, Putin and Dumpy – to bestride the world.

The mean-girl pettiness in this stunt would seem to be Dumpy/Bannon’s own little extra touch, though.

Whatever. I doubt Jimmy Carter needs another accolade for improving the world. He knows what he does.

They represent predominantly protestant districts where the are no private schools and where the local public schools are the centerpiece and heartbeat of the community. They are looking out for their own interests in blocking vouchers which they see as weakening state funding for their local public school districts.

  • From Jimmy Carter’s perspective he is the type of guy who doesn’t do things for awards but to make life better for every day people, totally the opposite of what Trump is doing since he thinks about himself and nobody else. The award would have likely gone beyond what Jimmy Carter did but continue good relations between the two countries and recognize the milestone for the Argentinian people as well. Trump is so pathetic, he is up his own arse so much.

The Herald is an English-language newspaper, although, yes, some of the paragraphs in this story sound stilted, esp. the penultimate one. I’ve been looking elsewhere, but La Prensa, for example, doesn’t seem to mention the incident as yet. What Carter’s Administration did or said during the Dirty War should seem to matter more than whether el Donaldo is paying off a personal grudge.

It’s about as petty as it gets. Trump is paying off a personal grudge, whereas the award was for “promoting human rights,” which is to say, whatever Carter as President did to impede a Dirty War in Argentina that resulted in as many as 30,000 extrajudicial killings.

  • That_Looks_Delicious

Wow. The Buenos Aires Herald article is indeed some very clunky bad English translation.

I’m feeling too lazy today to do a complete translation, but the gist of the article in Spanish is something like this:

The former Argentinian ambassador to the US, Martín Lousteau, is believed to be the person who proposed the award to Carter in recognition of his work for human rights, in particular during the last military dictatorshiop in Argentina, and specifically notes that Carter’s efforts helped speed the end of the dictatorship. The award was approved and announced on the Foreign Ministry’s official bulletin. Initially, it was going to be presented to Carter by Lousteau himself, and then it was decided by someone (?) that President Macri himself would present it to Carter in person since he was scheduled to make a quick trip to DC on Apr. 26-27. An anonymous source within the Argentine government told the CNN reporter that it was decided not to go forward with the award in order to “avoid conflicts” and to “talk about matters of mutual interest with the Trump administration.” Another source within the Foreign Ministry confirmed that the Ministry requested to go ahead with the award anyways since it had already been announced in the official bulletin, but the decision to not give the award to Carter was in response to a specific request from the Trump administration.

    • jefe5084

The story of the Dirty War is still emerging. Seems like Carter had to fight Kissinger during the time over this matter, and Macri has been interested in the 2016 disclosures. It’s also on point in that the current Pope was head of the Jesuit order in Argentina during the Dirty War, and Archbishop of Buenos Aires during the early debates about how to judge what happened.

    http://readersupportednews.org/images/stories/body_imgs/452-south-america.png

    • EweTaw

Since Macri took office he has steadily worked at rewriting Argentina’s history by downplaying the the atrocities of the military junta. His office claims the official number of “disappeared” to be only between 2,000 to 3,000 people. Unfortunately for him and his supporters, more than 30,000 mothers, grandmothers, and sisters claim to have lost family members who were taken from their homes and removed (killed) by the junta.

  • Larry in Oklahoma

This is so screwed up. So T-rump doesn’t want one of his fellow Americans to receive an award. Wouldn’t that make “us” look better? What does T-rump’s people propose? To give it to him posthumously or not at all? I can say this: THIS little kid act is NOT something we would ever see the REAL President (Obama) ever do. It’s obvious who’s mature (Obama) and who’s not.

  • TimCA

This is truly alarming if the report is accurate. It would confirm the very worst of what we’ve all long suspected, and that is that this administration is now thoroughly rejecting the notion that human rights and democratic values should be a cornerstone of US foreign policy. So far however I’m seeing very little in the MSM reporting on this. In fact, the only reputable sources I see reporting the story (after a quick internet search) is CNNEspanol and the BA Herald. I hope others pick this up quickly in the next few hours if this proves credible.

  • Elsewhere1010

Aside from the internet picking up the story from the(BuzzFeed, blogs, occupy groups, Joe) the only source for this I’ve found so far is still the Buenos Aires Herald. Not that I’m saying the BA Herald is wrong, but it’s the only news source for this story so far.

    • Alexander Stallwitz

Whats sad is that i can believe that Trump is this petty and would do this.

  • EweTaw

    Just a clarification:

“NOTE: The Buenos Aires Herald article largely appears to be an at-times clumsy translation from the original report by CNN Español. Perhaps a Spanish-speaking JMG reader can provide any missing nuance.”

The Buenos Aires Herald is an English language daily. There is no Spanish version.

    • McSwagg

The reporter who wrote the article is probably a native Spanish speaker with very limited English fluency. The result would be about the same as a poor translation.

  • Nowhereman

I cast my first presidential vote for Jimmy Carter. I will always be proud of that. He is an honorable man, a compassionate man, a scholar, a military man, a spiritual man, a man who lives out his morals and convictions. He spoke the truth about America 40 years ago, that we needed to embrace the future, practice good stewardship towards the earth, and move away from dependence on fossil fuels. He had the foresight and the courage to tell us we were heading down the wrong path. He was, and continues to be, mocked for all of this.

He will always be a hero to me.

    • Alexander Stallwitz

His Crisis of Confidence speech is one of the most powerful speeches i have heard. Pity the point of the speech was lost on the American people and no one wanted to hear his message. They wanted a feel good American Expectionism speech instead

        • Alexander Stallwitz

I have always believed that was Carter’s biggest blunder , he naively believed that America was ready to join the world as good citizens and be less selfish. Instead America wanted someone to tell them greed is good and its america’s right to take what it wants.

Character assassination is #45’s only notable skill. He didn’t win the presidency by growing his base or having a plan, he did it by trashing the reputation of his opponents. Taking this honor away from Carter, a superior human and politician in every way, is his only move.

I was NOT a fan of Jimmy Carter while he was President. But he did return respectability to the Office. While the policies of his administration may have been unpopular and embarrassing (Iran hostage crisis), he had his shining moments (peace agreement between Israel and Egypt). Since he left office, his character has been nothing but class and dignity. His work with Habitat for Humanity, and the other various charities he supports will go into history as a testament of a great man. Carter has class. Hair Furor is a buffoon.

A quick read of the CNN piece says that the Orange Dump asked Macri to NOT do it during his recent trip to the US which included a visit to the White House. It repeats the word “postponed” several times.

Sure Macri and Thinskin are buddies.

The Buenos Aires Herald is an English-only publication. It is based in BA and its writers have been translating source materials since it was founded in 1876. I doubt that this is a “clumsy translation.”

Carter has such a big heart and so much class, Trump can never come anywhere near him in terms of respect and never will.
