Mutiny At The Anti-LGBT Heritage Foundation

Politico reports:

The controversial president of The Heritage Foundation, former Sen. Jim DeMint, will soon be out of a job, following a dispute with board members about the direction of conservative think tank, according to three people with knowledge of the situation.

Some Heritage board members believe that DeMint has brought in too many Senate allies and made the think tank too bombastic and political β€” to the detriment of its research and scholarly aims.

A handful of Heritage staffers close to DeMint, who came over from the Senate with him, are also expected to leave the think tank in what two sources called a “purge.”

A GOP operative who works closely with Heritage said DeMint’s removal as president was imminent and that more changes are expected to follow. “There’s massive turmoil over there right now,” the operative said.

This afternoon Hair Furor name-checked DeMint at the NRA convention, call him his “amazing friend.”

One of my two black boys today, who is such a pest when it comes to food, decided after tasting a bite of the cooked chicken in Sriracha sauce in my lunch (which he fished out with his foot when I wasn’t looking) that he was too sophistiquΓ© at this point for raw, unseasoned chicken.

The disgusted look he gave me when I gave him a piece in response to his cries spoke volumes.

Right? So good to have people here on JMG, like you, who understand.

My husband recently made stuffed cabbage using my mama’s recipe. Knowing I’m a fagela and interested in such things, she left me all her time-honored recipes.

The cat, to my surprise, loves it too. Who would have guessed?

But if I try to serve her a store-bought version, she looks up at me and says, “Where’s your fuckin’ mother’s version of this shit?”

          • vorpal 😼

Oh dear… you’ll have to explain “fagela” to me now!

Of course your cat would love stuffed cabbage. That is such a CAT thing to do. The cat that my mom stole from me when I moved out would swing from the rafters if she had bran flakes with milk for breakfast and didn’t give him any. Milk was NOT sufficient and was completely inedible, as were bran flakes: it HAD to be the combination.

Who can explain the Tao of Cat? Not even the most sophisticat.

          • another_steve

“Fagela” is a Yiddish defamatory expression for “gay male.”

It translates, literally, as “little bird.”

          • greenmanTN

But feel free to take the first syllable and add ” ela” to it. it’s like the Yiddish Name Game.

LOL this reminds me of a kitten I fostered for awhile when I was catless. However, open a bag of chips, pop some corn or build a pasta dish and she’s RIGHT there. However, regarding the vid, she does not knock things off of anything, nor does she shred TP or scratch furniture. She’s not much of a cuddler either though, if I build a little cave for her out of my quilt when I got to bed, she’ll often lay in there for a while, or at least until I start twitching as I fall asleep. πŸ™‚

I am not a young man and I’ve had cats throughout my life. All are, as you say unalike in personality even when coming from the same litter (though that can certainly be said of we humans as well) though some cat behaviours remain regardless. She’s a tiny, petite thing who had bonded more closely with my youngest daughter, also tiny and petite with whom she WOULD cuddle and on whose bed she would often sleep as well. However, we get a long fine as she remained with me when my daughter moved out a few years back. She’s very big on grooming my forehead. A good thing as no self respecting gay man should EVER gad about in public with an ungroomed forehead… that’d be SCANdalous and do possible irreparable harm to the community’s image.:)

The anti-trans, Christian “freedom” defending, gun nuttery, environment-hating, Mexican-hating, poor-people-hating and every other nightmarish scenario embraced by the Republican voter is a product of Heritage. They have teams of writers and researchers who do very sophisticated demographic, economic and psychological research in order to determine how get away with their latest heinous project to pander to “conservative” voters. (The fact that bigots manage to get called “conservative” – a much nicer word – is a product of Heritage.) Heritage is the chief reason that everyone who is not a straight white rich Christian man is constantly fighting for his or her rights. Heritage is the group providing the language, images and ideas to cause us harm.

I was just writing to a friend:

Have been posting too muchβ€”always get frantic when the ACA is under attack. The GOP’s mass murder plot makes me nauseous and so angry and disgusted I don’t know what to do with myself. Did you see the UN says what they want to do may qualify as an international CRIME?? May qualifyβ€”MAYβ€”that’s a laugh, a BITTER one.

Despite ALL their reporting, which PROVES the contrary, the β€œnews” media continue to act as if having a PROVEN pathological LIAR and CON MAN in the Oval Officeβ€”someone they KNOW is morally and intellectually UNFIT for the presidencyβ€”is just something to shrug one’s shoulders about. It’s just a CIRCUSβ€”a very profitable oneβ€”to the irresponsible, amoral JACKASSES.

We seem to be retraining the GOP at the moment, keeping the lid on the worst they have planned. But they are a constant VILE menace that’s NOT going away.

        • Cuberly

I have to laugh my way through the crazy cuz we’ve reached such an extreme. I also have to remind myself on an almost daily basis that Hillz won by just shy of 3 million, more than Hair Furor. And, we have JMG, pretty much our huddle zone. Where we can vent and commiserate and offer a virtual shoulder to lean on.

And, the ineptness of the GOP has actually been working in our favor, for now. They always overreach.

          Hang in there.

Evidently our current military strategy is to use some type of technology to take out the missile in the very early phases of the launch either through some type of EM interference or induced component malfunction. At least that’s what’s been popping up on NPR in recent months. If you are looking for a PR reason as to why say it was a failure on launch, it is to keep confidence in that technology.

      • Bad Tom

If true, that would be a legitimate act of war from the NK POV.
        ——-
We would freak if any other nation interfered with our rocket tests.

We like to make sure they still work.

        • safari

I’m not entirely sure we use it on tests like this, though. I just know that such measures have been described as a primary means of preventing a missile from reaching the US.

          • Bad Tom

            Now that makes sense.

I’ve been reading about directed energy weapons for quite some time in Aviation Week. The ones I’ve read about are shipborne or airborne, multi-megajoule maser & laser devices. Prime concerns are charging time and beam coherence at long distance. They’d like to get to twenty megajoules, as that would destroy an incoming missile more quickly. Power sources that big are a challenge in aircraft. Nuclear sources appear to be the answer shipboard.

With such a mission, a missile would be shot down only if it were in fact identified as a legitimate attack on the USA. It would be too easy to tell from telemetry that one’s missile had been destroyed by directed energy for anyone to do that caverily. *

O/T I just want to share that Fred Erick has a worthwhile project on Facebook – “Helping Gay Men Flee Chechnya: Fundraiser for American Friends of Rainbow Railroad Inc.”
From the Facebook page: “Rainbow Railroad is desperately struggling to liberate gay and bisexual men from what can only be described as modern day Concentration Camps and provide them with asylum in Canada. Please donate what you can which gives them the finances needed for legal services, airfare, and temporary housing. If you cannot donate then please share. After the Holocaust everyone asked, “How did the world standby and do nothing?” Well, here is your chance to do something. Or will our grandkids ask the same question of us?”

I know some folks loathe Facebook, so here’s info. on Rainbow Railroad (Canadian group):
    https://www.rainbowrailroad.ca/

I wanted to give to the Chechen men through a non-Facebook-associated email account so I donated through to the American Friends of Rainbow Railroad and marked it for the men in Chechnya.

Donald completely forgot his youngest son, Barron, exists.

The only Trump kids he give a shit about are the spawn he had with Ivana the other wives and spawn MEHHH

    • coram nobis

Short-term memory loss, maybe. He sees Uday and Qusay most days or talks to them, Princess Ivanka as well. Melanie and Barron are in the Trump Rapunzel Tower in Manhattan and don’t come out as much.

Donald remembers Obama real good, however.

    • safari

      He’s not a child until he’s vested.

    • David L. Caster

Trump is overwhelmed by and unfit for the office he holds. I am not surprised that he is careless in his speaking to groups like the NRA that have sucked up to and support him.

      • Linda

LOL You guys really crack me up… What you smoking? The NRA likes Pres. Trump because, unlike most on anti-gun left, he actually supports our 2nd amendment rights and feels no need to destroy even more jobs with gun manufactures that Hillary said she’d go after.

          Trolls gotta troll.

          1) Being pro gun regulation is not anti gun
          2) Wanting gun owners to be mentally and emotionally competent is not being anti gun
          3) Hillary Clinton never said she’d go after gun manufacturing jobs. Not even once.
          4) No one is against 2nd amendment rights. No one wants to take that away.

Not only thst, I get the feeling that Ivanka, Uday and Qusay really have no involvement with him at all. No big Bros big sis quality time.

      • Barron looks to me like the kind of kid who’ll one day grow up to write history’s biggest tell-all biography… or he’ll be a monster.

One thing I do see every time I see him on TV or in a photo: Kid may have everything, but he still looks desperately lonely.

        • Cattleya1

It is actually sad – the kid has the affect of a war refugee. Melania needs to get him some serious counseling.

          • Xiao Ai: The Social Gadfly

            Melania needs serious counseling.

        • jefe5084

That is my impression too. I feel sorry for the kid at this time in his life. Didn’t they say he was autistic, too? Also, you know how kids are..when they are having fun they make noise. I’ve seen on vids..twice so far where Cheetolini reprimanded either him or what’s her noodle when he was interacting with other kids. Scary.

The French aren’t shy about discussing it. (I recall an article someone posted here.)

OUR “news” media–certainly the ones onscreen–are largely GUTLESS.

Now if HILLARY–our Hillary–had displayed some–ANY!–of his bizarre behaviour, they’d be ALL OVER IT.

      I despise them so much.

      • What sites are you reading? I read enough French to follow most news stories.

      • Xiao Ai: The Social Gadfly

Not so much gutless as manipulative. Everything they do is to generate revenue. Nothing more, and nothing less. It’s why, for me at least, the United States of Corporate Capitalism, is nothing less than a parasite. It’s also why I harp so much on closing down Wall Street entirely. Let them learn who really are the masters. It’s the only way.

    • stevenj

“Donald completely forgot his youngest son, Barron, exists.”

      Maybe it’s not his.

Either that or he just doesn’t want to claim him at all. Remember he called him “retarded.”

      • -M-

to be fair, I’m pretty confident he’s called all three of them “retarded” at various times.

    • BudClark

Democrats should start referring to Trump as the pathological liar in the White House.

Whenever questioned about this by journalists pretending they don’t KNOW it’s a statement of FACT, every individual Democrat should be prepared with–even pull out a list–of the most egregious examples, AND cite a few of the most recent examples. Point out the ignorance and mendacity he displays EVERY DAY and how DANGEROUS this is for democracy AND the nation’s SECURITY.

This should be HAMMERED home–24/7–by Trump’s justifiably angry and DISGUSTED opposition.

There should be demands every day for his TAX RETURNS, the reasons for which everyone HERE knows.

ALSO, if REAL journalists–such as they are–are going to ignore the DAMAGE being done to the body politic by the right-wing propaganda machine and continue to treat those propagandists as COLLEAGUES instead of as the LIARS they are, then DEMOCRATS must expose them for the dangerous agents of FASCISM they are.

“Why don’t you CARE that the right-wing propaganda machine, led by Fox, is deliberately spreading lies and disinformation? Here are some EXAMPLES. Don’t their actions and the way their lies are undermining the truth and democracy constitute a MAJOR story worthy of your attention??

“You report on Trump’s lies and conflicts of interest, but then seem to shrug your shoulders as if having a pathological LIAR and THIEF/CON MAN in the Oval Office is no big deal. WHY?? Why do you PRETEND he’s FIT for the presidency when you can SEE he ISN’T?? Here are some of his statements which reveal his appalling ignorance and flippancy. Do you think that’s not news AND doesn’t constitute, when coupled with his relentless LYING, ongoing PROOF of his UNFITNESS??”

THIS is the Democrats’ JOB: they must, in this way, relentlessly attack the right-wing propaganda machine–all the LIES coming from the right and out of Trump’s FAT mouth–and prod serious journalists into doing THEIR jobs (of defending the truth from lies and democracy from extremism) while contrasting what THEY–the Democrats–want to do for the nation with the DAMAGE Trump and the GOP are determined to do.

There must be unending WARFARE on LIES and relentless pressure to get at the TRUTH Trump and his enablers are HIDING.

    • Jmdintpa

      they wont

      • billbear1961

They’ve done a lousy job for YEARS; so has the “free” press, most of which has been drifting rightward–openly or surreptitiously–for just as long.

Obama was the last chance for TRUE, progressive reforms; and they LET the right engage in unprecedented SABOTAGE of their efforts.

Most of what progress WAS made will now be rolled back by courts that will soon be fascist. (There was an article on Political Wire about the coalition that Obama built and then let wither on the vine. WHY was it allowed to fall apart??)

We need a NEW, truly progressive party.

This one has failed/is failing. (They just LET the GOP STEAL a SCOTUS seat in an unprecedented act of blatant SEDITION.)

It doesn’t know how to stand up to fascism, or, more likely, doesn’t really WANT to.

I think it fears that if it does, the whole ROTTEN, crony capitalist system may well collapse.

That’s why we’ll never get to the bottom of the Russian connections: they–the Democrats–are too afraid of the fallout from a scandal that has no precedent in our history. LOOK at how they hang back and HIDE behind the grassroots resistance.

“Send us money to fight Trump!”

I’ve seen little evidence of this party’s ability or willingness to FIGHT.

They want to go on playing a GAME, playing “the opposition” to corporate fascism, offering just enough hope to keep us from REBELLING.

“We’ll get ’em in 2018 and 2020! You just WATCH, and send us MONEY!!”

        It can’t wait that long.

The fascists are consolidating power–they’ll soon control the courts, and their COUP will be COMPLETE.

The progressive branch of the Democratic party must form a NEW party, and they MUST do what I’ve already outlined.

        • Linda

Yes, Obama was a Marxist who loved his muslim brothers and HIS illegals…. he told us he was ‘drawn’ to his Marxist professors in college.. might have been where he got his un/anti-American ideas of redistribution from. He did tell Joe The Plumber that he should ‘share’ his successes. LOL Noting like Marxist… karl marx must have been Obama’s hero…

Thank God he’s gone, and Pres. Trump is in the process of issuing reversals on many of Obama’s EO’s. That’s just the beginning… at some point in time obamacare will be complete revamp – so as not to HURT the middle class as much as Obama / the 60 dems did… and Pres. Trump ordered the Obama ‘penalty tax/fine’ to be stopped by the IRS.. saving those who were being forced to PAY while getting NOTHING for their huge taxes.

YEAH… SO looking forward to the rest that Pres. Trump will be doing to MAGA for All Americans…. LOVE his USSC Justice choice too.

Voters will notice IF the dem party decides to NOT work in what’s in their best interests… and you’ve lost SO much political power already during the past eight years.. to lose more and you will have to ‘form a NEW party’ because the party who now represents THEIR ILLEGALS and supports their favorite faith, Islamic muslims might not exist at that time. LOL

            ==

Obama also LIED about the US being a muslim nation =

“If you actually took the number of Muslims Americans (sic), we’d be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world,” he told French television station Canal Plus.

Which of course was totally UNTRUE… when he said it and now.

            11 Obama quotes pro-Islam = http://usherald.com/11-jaw-dropping-obama-quotes-on-america-and-islam/

            https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=obama+recites+the+islamic+call+to+prayer&spf=384

And as many have noted… how odd for a man who ‘claims’ to be a Christian… constantly giving preferential treatment to muslims and muslim nations. And he was registered at a school in Asia, by his own mother, AS a muslim.
TG he’s gone and we have an American LOVING President in power now.

          • Chucktech

            Wee-oh, you’re way out there, aren’t you?

I would agree on one very annoying Obama trait, and that’s any deference, bordering on obeisance, he gave to religion in general. Deep down inside, I bet Obama is as big an atheist as I am. But at least he’s dead on about “America was never A Christian nation.”

And, please, Breitbart? Or your fake news “US Herald”?? Jesus…

Another reason to march on Climate change. Beautiful animals being abused by certain “powerful, money-grabbing” non-humans.

      • Linda

Climate change caused by humans is a HOAX – a fraud upon the taxpayers another excuse to get their money-grabbing hands on our hard earned money

… Two UN IPCC members said it’s agenda is not about improving our environment, but rather wealth redistribution from wealthy nations to poorer ones… oh and, like most progressive ideas, to destroy capitalism. Of course the liberal progressives support that… that’s what Obama sought to do also.. TG we kept Hillary from doing more of the same.

        https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=two+UN+IPcc+members:+climate+change+is+about+income+redistribution+and+anti-capitalism&spf=388

        • Paula Key

Please don’t get into the hoax….just go to neutral scientists….ice cap receding…..I’m visiting Australia right now – unheard of heat and then flooding. Are you aware of the earthquakes from fracking. Please love our environment.

          • Linda

The cat is already out of the bag… there is NO conclusive proof that humans are the cause for what natures been doing for eons now.. Our climate has always been changing. Not too long ago these so call scientists were telling us we were entering a global cooling.

Sincerely I do love our environment, especially where I live… but this $$ chaser is all been based on their theories.. no sold scientific proof. And to have all our money stolen form us along when in FACT it will change / improve nothing in the environment… means NO funding UNTIL there is valid, indisputable proof…is just another way for gov to steal more of our money from us. You pure environmentalists need to work on China and India.. and their massive environment pollution.. ours is pretty good right now. Except when the EPA dumps toxic waste into our CO river.. that’s not good. Or when they allow the drinking water MI to get so bad…

We’re spending all our money HUGE amounts to support the EPA and they’re more interested in regulating our BBQ’s and fire places than actually doing what they job requires of them. I’d personally like to see the FEDERAL EPA eliminated… and those responsibilities handed to the states…where their states can set their own regulations/tax their own citizens and punish/fine their own violators….Maybe they’d do a better job than obama’s EPA has been doing. Too many policies that have been destroying American JOBS…. during a real poor recessional recovery no less.

          • PhillyProfessor

Actually, the overwhelming majority of scientists working in the field will tell you that the evidence for anthropogenic climate change is conclusive. And just because Time and Newsweek wrote articles about Global Cooling in the mid ’70’s doesn’t mean that the scientific community at large accepted it – because they didn’t. Check out Wiki on Global Cooling. I find it disturbing that there are still climate change deniers who still point to those articles as evidence. Not significantly different than believing that the Loch Ness monster is real because you saw a TV show about it.
The EPA gets 0.2% of the Federal budget, so you kinda sound unhinged ranting about how this amounts to “spending all our money HUGE amounts.” And since air and water don’t stay within state borders, it doesn’t really make sense to regulate them on a state level. What, in your opinion, are the top 5 policies that have destroyed American jobs? Just what you consider the worst of the bunch.

          • Why are these foreign agents still agitating? The election was last November…

Meh. She complained about the cat a few rows away, so they found her a seat toward the back of the plane, which was not to her liking. Then she claims she was just thrown off, out of the blue. I suspect she used some choice language along the way.

  • Lazycrockett
    • Max_1

That grain of salt is called TREASON…

    • Sorry, can’t buy anything she says anymore. Her blog posts are nothing but anonymous “sources say” — over and over — and she often conflates her own conclusions with proven facts.

One of the reasons the Steele dossier was deemed “plausible but unverified” was because people could connect his previous job (British intelligence) and his previous assignments (Russia and surrounding nations) to the multiple un-named but distinct and separate sources he cited. Individual details could be investigated and confirmed, and so far have been.

Mensch might have sources, but nothing about her career up to now suggests she knows anyone except those she talks to online and perhaps on the phone. She also says demonstrably false things like this:

      Trump Tower was a β€œcommand and control” center for the Kehlios botnet, dismantled by the FBI;

This is ridiculous. And how is it demonstrably false? Trump Tower’s computer servers are hosted off-site.

What puzzled them was why a Russian bank was repeatedly looking up the contact information for mail1.trump-email.com.
Publicly available internet records show that address, which was registered to the Trump Organization, points to an IP address that lives on an otherwise dull machine operated by a company in the tiny rural town of Lititz, Pennsylvania.

If she can’t even be bothered to get that one detail right — despite having been corrected multiple times about it — it calls into question everything else she says is a ‘source’ (and she never names a single reputable source, just anonymous ones who can’t even be told apart from one another) or what she claims is ‘fact’ when it’s not. She’s surmised that voter registration data was being monitored practically in realtime by the Trump campaign and simultaneously by Russian hackers — but states it as if it is accepted fact. It hasn’t.

Just yesterday, Mensch and another twitter guy, Claude Taylor were claiming the intelligence community had an actual recording of Donald committing treason, proposing positive treatment of Russia in exchange for money and help winning the election. And that the biggest news in all of recent history had somehow been leaked to two bloggers and no one else. Not WaPo. Not CNN or NBC or PBS or even the BBC. Just these two relative nobodies who don’t even have the means to widely disseminate a leak which would be an absolute blockbuster if true.

Today? Well, I blocked Louise a while back, but Claude is back to reposting articles from The Guardian saying nothing more than that “details of alleged contacts” between the Kremlin & Trump campaigners had been given to UK intelligence, which he’s reposted roughly hourly this last day. His history scoop? Forgotten.

      • Oh, if you contradict or disagree with Mensch enough times, she’ll label YOU a Russian ‘bot/troll, block you, and then spend the next couple of hours tweet-rousing her loyal followers to harass you and boasting how she’d ID’s still more Russian bots. Didn’t happen to me, but has happened to others.

Take ‘The Jester’ aka ‘@JesterActual.’ She became enamored of him, did what she often does and that’s to try to steal some of his attention and his followers. When he wouldn’t play ball and told her to calm down and stop posting unsourced nonsense — and to leave him out of her mentions — she went ballistic and declared him an agent for the Russians.

Basically, narcissism and paranoia never make a good combination…

Thank God she’ll NEVER be America’s CIC.. she’d lie to their families faces too, more than likely.

Hillary, bill and Chelsea have not been cleared from their pay to play fndn investigation, least not that I’ve seen reported. Still under FBI investigation on their fndn pay to play accusations.

Trump’s base would indict her because she can point to where Russia is on a map.

        • billbear1961

Yes, even though 56%–I think that was the number in the poll–of Republicans now say Russia is our FRIEND.

The two-faced FUCKS would NOT be saying that if a DEMOCRAT were in the WH and suspected of collusion with the Russians to put him or her there!!

          • Linda

Oh course, Hillary did have her ‘reset’ button with Russia.. her campaign mgr Podesta’s brother has been affiliated with Russians and Hillary as SoS did enable Russia to purchase our uranium – not sure if that was before or after they made a ‘contribution’ to her/their fndn. tsk tsk tsk Boy, all those Russian connections – never bothered her supporters.. Those darn double standards they always use.

          • billbear1961

Those efforts to “reset” were BEFORE Putin’s list of crimes–against his own people and other nations–EXPLODED in number. And she was OBAMA’S SoS, representing the administration. (Obama’s attitude did NOT remain unchanged as Putin became more and more aggressive and tyrannical.)

MANY government departments APPROVED the sale of uranium to Russia. Hillary is NOT believed to have taken a personal hand in the decision at State.

The Clinton Foundation has received one of the HIGHEST ratings given out to charities, higher than that awarded to the American RED CROSS.

ANY complaints about Hillary are AMAZING when one considers the ENORMOUS conflicts of interest of your grifting FUEHRER, who has NOT divested from his business “empire.”

You NEVER saw Hillary dissing allies, trashing NATO, or praising DICTATORS, making EXCUSES for their CRIMES–on the CONTRARY.

Putin hated and FEARED Hillary Rodham Clinton, which is why he moved heaven and earth, at TRAITOR Trump’s EXPRESS invitation, to install his PUPPET, Trump, in the Oval Office!!

Now, fuck off back to the KREMLIN, Linda!!

          • Bad Tom

As you know, Hillary, as SoS, could not stop that sale for merely personal objections, and did not benefit from it herself.

        • Linda

LOL Yes, that sure brought back memories of all those dem who really thought Tina Fey’s JOKE was a real statement Palin made.. just like jonathan gruber said, SO easy to fool stupid people. They really shouldn’t look to comedians for their ‘news’.

          • Bad Tom

            Bye.

      • Linda

Hopefully when the FBI finishes their investigation of bill, chelsea and Hillary in their pay to play fndn… they’ll all be indicted. Hillary belongs in prison for what she did. Trey Gowdy got Comey to admit some of Hillary’s LIES… but then she’s also lied about not remember that she EVER lied. LOL Possibly her dementia … but Huma did tell us ‘Hillary was often confused’… and needed her naps. Gosh, she could barely stand up at her campaign stops.. but then, few were there to listen to her repeating 30 year old stuff any way. Sanders crowds even put her’s to shape… lol

        • margaretpoa

So she simultaneously lies and suffers from dementia? She’s the only person to knowingly lie while not being aware of what she’s saying in history then. You don’t see anything absurd about accusing someone of both suffering from dementia, (which causes memory loss) and then lying about having memory loss?
Conservatives get neither irony or logic.Go back to Breitbart. Uttering such idiocy is unwelcome here.

    • Linda

Oh yes, Rachael maddow.. the one left with egg on her face after her ‘big, big story’… and producing two pages of Pres. Trump’s taxes forms.. that ‘someone’ obtained ILLEGALLY. Seems that’s the way the dem party and their supporters like handling most things…. illegally…

      • Nice try, Linda, you can play again whenever…

Trump leaked that particular year of his forms not to her but to David Cay Johnson, thereby making it NOT FUCKING ILLEGAL.

As for egg on her face? Turns out that one year is highly useful, because it shows Donald’s latest ‘tax cut’ plan is what? Nothing but a gigantic tax cut FOR HIMSELF. Pass-through rate at 15%? Gee, that happens to be how the entire Trump Organization is designed. AMT eliminated? That would’ve saved Donald 10s of millions in 2006. And let’s not forget Dim Donald’s plan to eliminate the estate tax, so his adult kids can inherit billions of stolen dollars, tax free, the ultimate in being a leech on humanity.

        You.

        Are.

        Pathetic.

        • Linda

Of course, just like your [collective] false claims about the Russians.. that smear didn’t stick either. Working Americans LOVE tax cuts… much better than the enormous burdens Obama/the dems had continued to put on their backs…..which did it’s job on our middle class for sure.. while Obama put MORE in POVERTY. tsk tsk tsk

Nice to have a man who’s working FOR we the people, rather than his party’s illegals, muslim favorites…and any other un-American organization/terrorist group like Obama did. NEW sheriff in town….

        • Linda

OT but… I’m usually sad when the new posts stop on Friday night, but I didn’t get a chance to check in at all today, and Joe made 25 (twenty-five!?) posts today? OK, then. I have some catching up to do!

    OFF-TOPIC (with Joe’s kind permission):

    Dear Family and Friends,

    I’m
at my wit’s end. Luke has had another TIA (mini-stroke?), worse than
the first one. He’s incoherent, and immobile. The EMTs took him to the
hospital about noon. I haven’t heard anything yet.

I can’t take care of myself, and I need to come up with about $400 for our one-day-a-week housecleaner to come in more often.

    If
you can help, please use GoFundMe, Raymond H. Clark, Cathedral City, CA
… that’s the only way I can access money without Luke. It goes into
our bank account, then I can give my friend Richard the debit card to
    shop for me.

If Luke has to go to rehab or extended care for any
length of time … well, we’ll face that if we come to it. He’s been
trying to get Social Security Disability for YEARS.

    BOTTOM LINE:
he has taken care of Burgie and me for the better part of thirty years; I
WILL NOT ABANDON HIM, even if we both have to end up in a men’s
    shelter.

    Please pray for us.

Iesu, Mercy on Thy Servants! Holy Mary, Pray for Thy children! St. Raphael, Pray For His Healing!

Don’t let them cross the border, Canada.

Turn all Trumps away, until ICE and the CBP stop acting like GESTAPO.

      • Linda

It’s the left’s illegals who have headed to the Canadian border… seeking asylum. Hope more are accepted in.

And those illegals who were so great at crossing the border during Obama’s terms, aren’t doing so as much anymore. Border agents tell us they were down 40% in Pres. Trump’s first month.. GREAT news… lowest in 17 years.

That’s what happens when we have a president that they KNOW is going to enforce our laws… so unlike Obama = https://www.google.com/webhp?tab=mw&ei=CG0EWb-8A5OcmwH29aqADw&ved=0EKkuCAgoAQ#q=border+crossing+down+april+2017&spf=861

        • billbear1961

Refugees who know they will receive NO MERCY in the U.S. have FLED to FREEDOM and CIVILIZATION in Canada!!

Immigrants have been TERRIFIED in the U.S. by Gestapo-like treatment without regard to their actual status. People guilty of NO crime except illegal entry years or DECADES ago–and who have worked and contributed to their communities all that time–have been TORN from their traumatized children, who have recorded the OUTRAGES. A sick woman with a brain tumour, bleeding from her nose, was arrested in a hospital. A woman fleeing domestic abuse was arrested in a court of law. A decorated veteran who fought in Iraq was arrested. An activist who has helped immigrants for DECADES in this country was separated from his wife of many years and deported. There are MANY other such stories of DESPICABLE behaviour by immigration agents!

Immigrant communities are afraid to cooperate with law enforcement, which makes EVERYONE in the community less safe.

There is now great difficulty recruiting enough foreign workers to keep hotels and other businesses open later during peak tourist season all over the country, and the same is happening to farmers who can’t find the hands they’ll need to harvest their crops. American citizens will not WORK for the wages offered!

Tourists AND citizens are being mistreated at the border by agents exceeding their authority!

The tourist industry is being hit hard to the tune of what they expect will be BILLIONS of dollars. FAR fewer flight inquiries are being made by tourists for stays in the U.S.

Schools that depend on foreign students who pay FULL or HIGHER tuition are having difficulty holding on to those students and finding new ones.

Research and tech companies are having more trouble recruiting from abroad. Companies in silicon valley have been raided. The U.S. edge in the tech industries is threatened.

Schools and industries in CANADA are seeing increased interest from immigrants and valuable foreign workers/students seeking to FLEE intolerance in the U.S. Foreign investment is following them NORTH of the border.

Rural communities–which voted often overwhelmingly for Trump–are having trouble recruiting badly needed doctors from abroad.

So much was copy paste from other commenters and other right-wing sites. There was the occasional reaction comment but so many of their posts were recycled from others. Also, sure seemed like the activity was almost impossibly active during specific periods. A bot perhaps? Like a flood of comments all at once.

But maybe those stairs will get to him after all….

        • billbear1961

Of course, the GOP haven’t pushed for impeachment–they’re as CROOKED as their master. Why won’t they push for a special prosecutor since they’ve shown themselves so RELUCTANT to investigate in the House AND Senate? Only NOW are they FINALLY starting to move forward again since Nunes stepped aside and since news outlets brought attention to the Senate’s inactivity (for lack of staff and because the GOP chair refused to request necessary evidence and to call for witnesses). What are they AFRAID of?!

Why did Nunes invent false evidence–even other House Republicans admit what the White House fed him and pressed him to spew was false–and stop the House committee in its tracks? The cringing FLUNKY bought the regime TIME–they were TERRIFIED of Yates’s approaching testimony! WHY?!

Why has the White House refused to provide the House with the documents on Flynn that they requested? Why did they lie and say they didn’t vet him when they DID? What are they AFRAID of?! Why is the regime in a PANIC to distance itself from Flynn and Manafort? (who has STILL not registered as a foreign agent).

Why did Sessions PERJURE himself over his dealings with Russians??

Why do the Republicans keep voting AGAINST the Democrats’ demands that Trump release his TAX RETURNS? What are they AND TRUMP afraid of?? Even if some of his returns are under audit, that makes not the SLIGHTEST difference–the IRS has said they may STILL be released!!

Why is the FBI investigating possible collusion between Team Trump and the Russians if there are no grounds to justify the suspicions??

Why has Trump SLANDERED Obama, claiming he had him bugged when everyone admits there is NO EVIDENCE to justify the charges?? He did that to DIVERT attention when the investigations into his collusion with the Russians were getting too close for comfort!!

Why hasn’t the LIAR apologized to his predecessor??

Why is the LITTLE man so JEALOUS of Obama??

  • Treant

OT: Well, I’m up incredibly early (I’ve been up for hours, actually). I guess I’m gonna go feed the lawn, it’s time and we may get a little more rain today after some tonight. It’s fine, I use soybean meal, so application to a damp lawn just means it sticks to my shoes. πŸ™‚

    • Where is home for you, T?

      • Treant

East central, Pennsylvania, near the NJ border at the point where it tries to get away form Pennsylvania’s pendulous bits digging into it. I also planted the dahlia; the forecast says we’re clear of frost for the year, and if it’s wrong, covering four plants with buckets is not a major problem. The flats are out to harden off, but won’t be planted for a week at least.

        • ach. i can never get those to perform. i do a lot of different sorts of plants, but those are just too much work where i grow. i love them very much and when i’m flush, i’ll buy them in a pot, already grown.

        • canoebum

I grew up in Bucks County, near New Hope. It used to mostly farmland. I think the condos, townhouses and strip malls have taken over. I hardly recognized it last time I was there.

        • That_Looks_Delicious

Oh, I was just in Trenton this week. So close.

    • djcoastermark

Oh I wish I had a lawn left to feed. We haven’t had rain here in months. My yard up and left months ago and all I have left is a sand dune in the front of my house. Should make it really interesting to see all the remaining dirt wash away once rainy season gets here.

      • ok, don’t yell at me for saying this, but: anchor your lawn with native plants. grass is stupid, in so many ways. there are probably some climate appropriate grasses that you can grow, with little water and no attention, you just have to accept what they look like, and cultivate them if grass is your priority. but i am a lawn radical, proudly. no grass. pollinating passive areas. vegetables in high light areas. fruiting trees on borders.

folks, things are going to go very badly really soon. your kids will thank you for making a growing area on the land that you leave to them. research the stuff that does well for the climate you get. recycle your water. enrich your soil now, while it is cheap.

        • That_Looks_Delicious

That’s been the big push in California for years now: drought-resistant landscaping, or in the desert, xeriscaping. I think they look very nice when decently done, better than grass.

          • this is why i live where i live. CA is nice, water is better. it’s going to get really rough out West, and for different reasons, in the South. but yes, there are some really pretty plants that thrive in extreme heat and no water. i for one have *always* wanted a fabulous cactus garden. at my old place i had dedicated garden beds; everything was part of a theme in each of them. i was just getting to making the cactus garden. oh, there are some beautiful dry bed plants. to a northern person like me, they are so exotic and beautiful.

        • djcoastermark

I won’t yell at you at all, in fact I wish the city didn’t have the stupid code enforced law about having a green lawn. Some people have gone completely natural and received fines for unkempt growth. It takes all kinds of petitioning the city to allow it. I do have a lot of climate appropriate fruits growing. Next I want to try growing Pigeon Peas. It is supposed to be easy , makes a nice shrub/ short tree, and provides food. It never made much sense to me as to why people want a lush green grass lawn on what is essentially a sand bar here.

          • they can’t fine you for a garden. if you have one of those nazi HOA, yeah. you might have a problem. but i challenged mine and won. i was like, who here is going to deny what is happening to the environment? looked those fuckers in the eye, i did.

i live in a different situation now, and i have all the growing space i want. i teach the local kids here about growing, in the summer when they are out of school. i have grass in certain areas b/c it was already there and the shade is too rough for seeding, mostly. so i’ve got to do that the hard way. i saw a neighbor doing what i want to do when i was out walking the other day. all cultivars, with a nice curving brick path thru out the whole area. little decorative statuary. a water feature.

grass, to me, is like the perfect symbol of everything that is wrong in our society. not native pretty grass, but the shit that is mandated by various powers. fuck that shit. come for me, as i transform my lawn. i am not afraid of you. i’ve been to more city council meetings than i can count. bring it on.

“The Trump administration is actively exploring options to remove controversial national security aide Sebastian Gorka from the White House and place him at another federal agency, multiple sources tell The Daily Beast.

Two senior administration officials familiar with the situation say it is exploring a new role for Gorka elsewhere in the administration. Another said he has been entirely excluded from day-to-day policy-making at the National Security Council in the meantime.”
