The Wrap recaps:
Disney and Lucasfilm unleashed the first trailer for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” the next chapter in the Skywalker saga, Friday morning during Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida. “The Last Jedi,” as the eighth numbered-entry in the “Star Wars” saga, picks up where “The Force Awakens” left off after the franchise took a diversion in 2016 with “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”
This time, we’ll be seeing a lot more of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) as he deals with the intrusion of Rey (Daisy Ridley) into his secluded island paradise at the end of the last movie. The trailer seems to be pushing a new philosophy for the protagonist users of the Force, one that endorses a balance rather than a strict adherence to the light side as seen in the previous movies.
