BRITAIN: Eight Arrested After Terror Attack [VIDEO]

Reuters reports:

Eight people were arrested in overnight raids across Britain following a terror attack outside Parliament that left four people dead, including a police officer. Dozens more were injured, including one American, Prime Minister Theresa May announced.

While the attacker’s identity has yet to be disclosed, May said the British-born man was once on the intelligence community’s radar – but wasn’t considered a serious threat when previously investigated by authorities, and was “not part of the current intelligence picture.”

“Our working assumption is that the attacker was inspired by Islamic ideology,” May told the House of Commons, adding British citizens “should not and will not be cowed by this threat.”

Mark Rowley, Britain’s most senior counterterrorism official, told reporters Thursday morning that police had conducted raids in London, Birmingham and other parts of the country and arrested seven individuals at six different addresses as part of an ongoing investigation. Metropolitan police later said the number had increased to eight people.
