Pelosi Blasts Trump For “Disgraceful And Incendiary” Lies Unmasked Today By FBI Director James Comey

The Hill reports:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Monday that President Trump must apologize for “disgraceful and incendiary” claims former President Barack Obama wiretapped him last year. Pelosi said in a statement that FBI Director James Comey’s testimony earlier in the day “put the last nail into President Trump’s mendacious wiretapping claims.”

“President Trump owes President Obama and the American people an apology for his disgraceful and incendiary fabrications,” Pelosi added. Pelosi claimed that Trump “has been desperate to distract attention from the FBI investigation into the Kremlin’s grip on his administration.”

“The possibility of Trump officials conspiring with a foreign adversary to influence a U.S. election represents a grave threat to our national security and our democracy, and the American people deserve answers,” Pelosi said.

  • Scott MB

He didn’t accuse he only retweeted things he read, he made no opinion and didn’t mean wiretapping in the narrow sense of the word. So, there is nothing to apologize for. <–sarcasm BTW

    • Bob Conti

Most likely, that will be his logic.

      • Nowhereman

        “Logic”–Hah! Made me laugh.

    • Nowhereman

Oh he is cunning alright–but he’s not at all intelligent.

I can hardly wait to read the meltdown tweets

    • pch1013

It’s more likely that he will simply purge his entire Twitter account of anything having to do with Russia. Because he’s too stupid to realize that screenshots are forever.

  • Tawreos

How long before he just says that he never tweeted anything about a wiretapp to begin with?

    • clay

He already did, yes? “Wiretapping”, “Obama”, and “me” are monstrously huge so that they could entail anything and everything.

    • Nowhereman

      He already has.

    • FAEN

      Oh that’s coming.

Two months in and it already feels like I’ve aged 5 years.

Only the Senate can confirm cabinet picks.

Well, yeah. Scribble didn’t say otherwise. Just that it should be halted for now.

Nothing short of Obama suing him for libel, which ends with the judge ordering Trump to apologize, will get Trump to apologize. Trump does not apologize because he thinks it is below him to apologize.

That would require him to admit he was wrong and in his mind he is never wrong.

      • RoFaWh

Will he have a psychotic episode if forced to apologize?

You’d be surprised how a few sessions of corporal punishment make a malefactor change his mind.

      • David Walker

Sadly, as long as the D-Party continues to find itself unable to “quit” Ms. Pelosi, then they will continue to forfeit the political-power which an admired Democratic-leader might yield. She’s as despised as DJT:

Lyin Ryan is the most favorable? SHit.
Have to admit, I’m not thrilled with Pelosi either.

      • pch1013

It’s a 4-month-old (and therefore pre-Trump) poll from Rasmussen, which leans right to begin with.

I suspect that if it were to be repeated today, the results would be rather different.

      • Opinion Sousaphones

People just like Ryan’s tits. They are not listening to what he says. Some people are best appreciated with the sound turned off.

        • easygoingmister

          “tits” = +1

    • William

Nancy Pelosi has been despised by the hard core right wing nearly as long as they’ve hated Hillary.

      • patrick

That’s entirely true, however her approval-ratings, low for over a decade, have long reflected strong disapproval from Democrats as well. For so many obvious reasons, she’s simply never been up to the level of personal and public leadership which has been demanded of her. And, like most megalomaniac politicians, she hangs on, year after year – refusing to pass along the rains to other leaders – because of her own addiction to power and that narcissistic feeling that she’s “the only person” who can succeed. Even after repeated election-losses by Democrats, they still rally ’round their failed-leadership as if they’re afraid of ditching her and trying someone new…

        • david fairfield

Her handling of things since the beginning of the campaign has been a mess. She only rears her head when something like this transpires, says a few meaningless words and then disappears until the next “big” thing. She’s not leading, she’s not demanding that anything tangible be done. An apology…who gives a shit?

    • Natty Enquirer

Looks like a beauty contest to me.

  • castaway

Cue Kellyann Conjob to say, “Obama just can’t take a joke.”

  • Rex

He won’t ask God for forgiveness, what makes anything think he’d ask Obama or the American people.

    • Opinion Sousaphones

Truly. Nobody expects anything decent out of the Traitor. However, it is good to remind people of what decency demands.

  • Rex

    He’ll apologize when pigs fly!
Oh, wait, he was just in Florida, wasn’t he?
    Never mind.

    • Todd20036

      Mmmm. Kosher bacon!

      • RoFaWh

I wish the Secret Service would tell Trump he can’t go to maralago anymore because the budget has run out and there’s no money to pay for it.

Don’t know about the rest of you but all I have learned today is Rodgers don’t know anything and Comey is not saying anything. Yet they and all republicans know for sure that the Russians had no effect on the election outcome.
    Bull shit to that.

  • Jeffg166

I know you are but what am I?

  • I don’t want an apology from him. I want him gone. Off the face of the Earth.

  • i’d really like this was all part of a grand strategy, but these are the dems we’re talking about and it feels like this was a waste of time that won’t lead to more substantive later investigations. i suppose it would be helpful for future investigators to be able to say “it’s pretty clearly established the president has been lying on matters of national security, and that sets a pattern that relates to [whatever that future investigation is about].”

the sad part is EVERYONE knew he was bullshitting about the microwaves and obama watching drumpf play with himself or whatever that hot mess was supposed to be. just as EVERYONE knows that if there is a legitimate reason to do so, the govt will investigate not so much your personal habits in your home, but rather such as the shady business dealings with foreign powers you’ve been up to during the presidential election. that IS worth investigating and it sounds like there was plenty of good reason for that part of your life to be monitored by the obama administration.

the need for a special investigator has actually been clear for months going before the election itself. if i am disappointed in obama, it was that he didn’t announce one when it could’ve mattered.

SO WHEN DOES THE IMPEACHMENT START? we the people have put up with this bullshit long enough!

    • Opinion Sousaphones

After the midterm elections if Congress changes party… not before then, and not without a change of party. As of right now, Trump could rape a dozen four-year-old children on the White House lawn, on camera (fake news), followed by a mass sacrifice with his cabinet drinking the blood of the children, and the Republicans in Congress would just look aside. All they care about is that he sign the legislation that does the same thing to the rest of the nation.

      • anne marie in philly

        and THAT fucking sucks!

But let me guess, Leader Pelosi: Lying to the American people and committing a crime (by accusing someone else of committing a crime without proof, evidence or even suspicion) won’t warrant impeachment, right?

    • canoebum

She’s the Minority Leader in the House. There’s precious little she can do to force the wacko Republicans to start impeachment hearings. I’d venture to say if she were Speaker, the hearings would already be underway.

  • bob

Isn’t this the woman who said it was perfectly OK to spy on innocent American citizens? Didn’t she lie about Snowden? Didn’t she lie to the American people about the whole thing?

Just asking … why do we care what she says now?

    • ggg

Because she’s making some great points! I have always admired Nancy Pelosi.

Does she really think the dumpster knows the meaning of “mendacious”?

  • EweTaw

Those are all mighty fine words and sympathies, but Pelosi just doesn’t possess the gravitas to make anyone listen. She’s a nice person. But her timid voice, the way she hems and haws trying to make a point, and her tendency to stutter just don’e sell the goods.

  • DesertSun59

As we all know and understand, Obama will get over it. He’s used to the lies. But the rest of us? We deserve a full apology now.
