TOO LATE: Sen. Lindsey Graham Floats Bill Mandating The Release Of Tax Returns By Presidential Candidates

The New York Daily News reports:

Presidential candidates in the 2020 race would be required to publicly release their tax returns under a prospective bill under consideration by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

Graham, a frequent critic of President Trump, who is the first U.S. commander-in-chief to not release his tax returns in more than 30 years, told reporters Wednesday that he would want to see a law passed by the next presidential election requiring all candidates, including Trump if he were to run for reelection, to release their returns.

“Any candidate running in 2020 needs to release their tax returns,” he said, according to Politico. “You just make it a law,” he said, when asked how such a demand could be enforced.
