Trump Lashes Out At Nordstrom For Dropping Ivanka’s Line: She Has Been Treated So Unfairly, Terrible!

Business Insider reports:

President Donald Trump lashed out at Nordstrom on Wednesday for dropping his daughter’s fashion line. “My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by Nordstrom,” Trump tweeted. “She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!”

Nordstrom said last week that the brand’s declining sales led to its decision. “Each year we cut about 10% [of brands carried] and refresh our assortment with about the same amount,” a Nordstrom representative told Business Insider. “In this case, based on the brand’s performance we’ve decided not to buy it for this season.”

  • Jeffrey

Is that a veiled threat that if we don’t support Ivanka he may STOP doing the right thing?

    • Mikey

he’d have to START doing the right thing, first.

    • Mark

That’s exactly the way I took it as it was supposedly the daughter and hubby who convinced him to do the right thing and not rescind the fed laws.

        It’s working.

    • Blake Mason

His supporters are so proud. I really mean that. They legitimately believe he is the great person to ever hold that office. He could take a dump in their mouths and they would ask for more.

      • FAEN

Yes my brother in law being one of them. He thinks being 🏳️‍🌈 is a ‘medical condition’ ergo we shouldn’t be treated equally under the law.

BTW-he’s thrice married and twice divorced. Enough said.

        • zhera

He sounds like a real catch! Could you hook me up when he’s divorcing your sister?

    • Skokieguy [Larry]

As long as we all keep hyperventilating about his latest stupid tweets, our government can be quietly dismantled without notice. For the Republicans, Trump is a useful idiot.

House Republicans Just Voted to Eliminate the Only Federal Agency That Makes Sure Voting Machines Can’t Be Hacked

“In a little-noticed 6-3 vote today, the House Administration Committee voted along party lines to eliminate the Election Assistance Commission, which helps states run elections and is the only federal agency charged with making sure voting machines can’t be hacked. The EAC was created after the disastrous 2000 election in Florida as part of the Help America Vote Act to rectify problems like butterfly ballots and hanging chads. (Republicans have tried to kill the agency for years.) The Committee also voted to eliminate the public-financing system for presidential elections dating back to the 1970s.”

If he understood the real world, he’d know that most of his supporters can’t afford to shop at Nordstrom, and a fair number of the ones who can are too embarrassed at his antics to be seen in his daughter’s clothing line. Trump doesn’t know that, but Nordstrom does.

    • Acronym Jim

Wait. What? During the “religious freedom” debate when christian business owners refused to serve gay couples, conservatives said that they had the right to run their businesses however they wanted. If that’s the case, so does Nordstrom. The difference being, Nordstrom hasn’t discriminated against anyone or refused to serve someone based on so-called “deeply held beliefs.” They chose to stop carrying a line of goods that was no longer selling well. If anyone’s to blame for that it’s Trump. No one wants to buy his daughter’s over priced tat because her daddy’s antics have ruined her brand.

Completely off topic. Went to pick up my meds from my AHF.org pharmacy. And one of the meds i get at a VERY discounted rate is viagra. I buy 6 pills a month which i cut in half so i have twelve “sweet moments” a month.
Well now those viagras are full price. So instead of my usual price which was very affordable 6 viagras would cost me 346.00 a month. I rejected the prescription.

It seems the head of AHF, the same guy who spearheaded the condoms in porn intiatives in Cali is now suing pfizer for advertising viagra as a party drug, thus promoting unsafe sex.

It had been the flags of Europe, but now it’s global. When the orange shithead, the pink elephant sniffer, and the alternative truth giver get to be too much, pick a country, any country.

      OMG! that is priceless.

    • Johnny Wyeknot

The narrator sounds like Armie Hammer in The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

  • bkmn

And we get to fund his defense in the damage lawsuits that will be filed against him.

  • Slippy_World
    • Dreaming Vertebrate

      Perfect!!
By the way, CNN has reported that Warren’s senate colleagues (Dems) succeeded in reading the entire letter into the records this morning.

        • karmanot

Is this the same Cory Booker who voted against Sander’s pharma bill?

          • Max_1

Use that against him for DNC Chair.
Right now, he’s backing a cause to stop RACISTS from getting into the DOJ. Why doth protest this???

    • karmanot

Republicans are domestic terrorists and a clear and present danger

  • Natty Enquirer

Do we really have a President who publicly whines about his daughter’s treatment by a department store? What an embarrassment.

    • boatboy_srq

      Yes.

Nordstrom is big enough and widespread enough that tRump can’t erect a wall or hill-and-flagpole combination to p!ss off the Norsdstrom board of directors.

  • Rex

    She ain’t pushin’ hard enough.

  • boatboy_srq

The next tRump sub-brand should be either “Unmarketable” or “Discontinued”. Probably the latter, since it has “disco” in the name and tRump used to be a regular at Studio 54.

    • RoFaWh

      Hello, coke nose.

  • Max_1
  • Halou

The Soviet Union had a command economy like this where the leader’s word was all it took for a company’s fortunes to rise or fall, where people had to buy what they were told to buy by the central government.
They did it for most of a century and at the end of it gave us the economic joke that was Russia in the 1990’s. President Bannon and his second in command Donald Trump both want America to become 1990’s Russia.

    • boatboy_srq

      I think they’d prefer 1930s USSR.

    • RoFaWh

The Soviet system of centrally planning the economy was nuts. The goddamned Central Committee, perhaps the single most important body in the USSR, set the retail price of fucking overcoats, for example.

Prices were set without any consideration of the inputs necessary to produce the goods.

This is where capitalism and capitalists come in so handy: they take the dirty job of pricing toilet paper out of the political arena.

    • thatotherjean

I think Trump would prefer 1890’s Russia, if he could be the Czar.

  • CB

I’m sorry, gang. I can’t let this go. THIS is what he’s doing at 11 AM in the morning when he’s supposed to be running our country.

  • Dreaming Vertebrate

At noon hour (EST), Nordstrom stock has mostly recovered. (it’s up 0.5% since opening). This little dino is becoming very tempted to make some money on Trump’s stock gaffs. There is even an app to assist with that.

    • Bad Tom

That the stock market shows such resilience is a good sign.

  • Silver Badger

It’s not fair that Ivanka is beinging punished for being the pissant’s daughter. Maybe things would turn around for her if he resigned.

    • Bad Tom

Maybe Ivanka should start to RESIST.
      ——-
That would blow Trump’s mind, wouldn’t it?

  • PopChips

    Helicopter parents are so annoying.

    • Dreaming Vertebrate

      Fellow educator?

  • Johnny Wyeknot

I am required to wear suits at both my real job, and my volunteer job. For the last 15 years I have been buying them exclusively at Nordstrom. Thankfully, this move by Nordstrom will ensure its continued viability.

  • Halou

Why doesn’t Cinnamon Hitler sign an executive order forcing Nordstrom to keep his daughter’s “fashion” line in stock?
Better yet, sign an order making it mandatory for all American citizens to buy only Trump branded products. He is the elected King as his support base is never hesitant to remind us, and has a horde of yes-men stacked in both the Senate and Congress so there is no chance of him getting struck down for it.

  • Henry Auvil

The most mindfuckingly insane whine in trump’s repertoire is “It’s not fair!” At what age is a toddler supposed to learn self-awareness?

    • RoFaWh

About age three, the same age they can be expected to start wiping their own asses.

  • JR

Is this an appropriate use of the bully pulpit?

    • Bad Tom

For a bully like Trump, it is the best he can muster.

    • Friday

More like the fully bulltwit. 🙂

  • DaveMiller135

I think of this kind of thing, reacting by twitter, when people want me to experience their hysteria about Trump being a fascist, or an autocrat. OK maybe, but I think this is the reaction of an amateur, and not a very smart one. “Politics has so many rules, why can’t I just do what I want to do?” He may be surrounding himself with people who mean to do real harm, but Trump himself is in over his head

  • Henry Auvil

I’m a great person too, shitgibbon. Why isn’t Nordstrom carrying my line of couture kneepads?

    • Johnny Wyeknot

Do you have them with extra padding? Asking for a friend.

      • Amateur. Pros don’t need or use knee pads.
        (I’m just kidding 😂)

        • Johnny Wyeknot

My friend also wants to know if they come with springs. 🙂

        • Johnny Wyeknot

Ripped knees in 501s were always a dead giveaway.

    • Ben in Oakland

      Do they have sequins?

  • Johnny Wyeknot

By the way, I happen to know that after Spicer got embarrassed about his ill fitting suit, men staffers at the White House flooded the pentagon city Fashion Center Nordstrom tailoring shop. This crush Delayed my final fitting of a suit I had ordered.

    • boatboy_srq

What, they couldn’t find Charles Tyrwhitt?

      • Johnny Wyeknot

They don’t understand the Trywitt language.

        • boatboy_srq

          They don’t speak Swedish either….

  • Johnny Wyeknot

And what does Ivanka being a “great person” and “pushing [Trump] to do the right thing” have to do with her clothing line?

    • Friday

(Cause, err, it’s all about Trump and his money and image?)

      • Johnny Wyeknot

( oh of course how stupid of me! I’m still getting used to him. )

  • Bad Tom

Ivanka being a “good person” is irrelevant to the business decision of whether to carry her brand.

A brilliant businessman would know this.
    ——-
Nordstrom’s statement was far more gracious than Trump’s, a contrast we have come to expect.

  • greenmanTN

The sad thing is that Ivanka does seem to be “the smart one” in that family, and probably the most decent, though admittedly that’s setting the bar really low. Don Jr and Eric are like the villains in a 1980s John Hughes movie.

  • Bad Tom

The stock price ding, presuming it really is a response to Lord Dampnut’s tweet, is not based on any kind of fundamentals, and is therefore going to be temporary.

    BUY Nordstrom.

    • Reality.Bites

I wouldn’t buy any department store stock

    • Friday

I think mid-day fluctuations in some sectors are pretty routine, actually. Some traders/programs will see a bit of a drop and sell high/buy back lower, take profit, price goes back. Moneymoney.

  • Gene Perry

Whoa, Donny! Aren’t your supposedly divested of your business intersts? Than, you shouldn’t care about Ivy’s line. Right?

  • karmanot

It’s so unfair to Ivanka. She clearly needs the money. She can’t even afford sleeves for her dresses!

  • Jean-Marc in Canada
  • Dagoril

“…always pushing me to do the right thing!”

She must not succeed in her pushing very often.

  • CatCope

“Always pushing me to do the right thing??!!” Hey Nutter In Chief, it’s NOT working. Terrible.

  • thom

According to White House schedule, this tweet was sent 20 minutes into his daily intelligence briefing. https://t.co/BoilJ6cV6L

    • boatboy_srq

      Shocking.

      /s

    • Halou

And when a 9/11 scale tragedy occurs because the appropriate orders to defend the country weren’t given, and the PeeOTUS is caught tweeting about how hard done by he and his family is…

      • RoFaWh

When that happens, the deplorables will stand around, as always, with their mouths open and flies buzzing in and out.

  • Cosmo Tupper

Warning to all businesses that are planning to sign a contract with any trump affiliated enterprise. DON’T DO IT! HE WILL DESTROY YOU WITH HIS PRESIDENTIAL AND FINANCIAL INFLUENCE! Not unlike the Mafia, except he leaves you alive but destitute.

  • Andymac3

“Always pushing me to do the right thing”

No, daddy, pull your pants back up, have you taken your pills yet?

  • Sean Williams

This is not nearly as good as his latest tweet where he wants the “easy D”. Don’t we all Donald. Don’t we all.

  • ColdCountry

If I had a twitter account, I’d ask him why he so often needs to be pushed to do the right thing. And perhaps comment that she sure fails a lot.

  • Earl

This is why Trump will eventually be forced out. He’ll tweet about the wrong business, eventually. Of course, he might also tweet a nuclear war starting and will be forced out the hard way.

I’ve never enjoyed a fucking less.

  • Robert Anthony

Always pushing him to do the right thing… Too bad he doesn’t listen to her if that’s the case. Everything bearing the trump name should be boycotted.

    • Johnny Wyeknot

I suspect he is talking about her push against doing away with LGBT protections and government contracting.

    • Gianni

Would be nice if she’d push him off the nearest cliff.

  • Jeffrey
  • TuuxKabin

Trump tweeted. “She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!”

Why’s it terrible she pushes you to do the right thing, hell beast?

    • Friday

If that’s the right thing she’s pushing toward, Trump, you should be wearing roller skates now, instead of what you’re actually doing.

    • George Hein

      Do you even understand English??

He is making the point that you left wing anarchist fanatics hate Ivanka because she’s always pushing to do a better job.

      You can’t even read. Sad!

You secretly hate successful independent women!

  • JWC

Lets tally up Melania wins a Law suit The military and secret service rent space in Trump Tower (something like 1.5 m/year) and Trump has time to blast Nordstrom for dropping Ivanka’s line of Chinese crap. I would venture to say that the Trumps are not the first or only family to have a disadvantaged child. Gee what do others do. Of course that Melania, not wanting to be around the fat orange creep but she is the (choke choke) First Lady .Nordstrom dropped a loss leader Donnie would have done toe same to anything not profiting him . Appararently all in all the Trumps are makin hay while the sun shines

    • grada3784

Of course, the Trumps are making hay. Benedict Donald has to have something on top of his head.

  • grada3784

    Tsk, tsk, Trumpelthinskin. Stop whining.

    That’s just business. Nothing personal.

  • Yeah. Nordstrom’s plunged all the way up from 42.35 to 42.48.

  • That_Looks_Delicious

Really, Republicans? The GOP is really okay with this? Nobody in GOPland thinks this is the least bit inappropriate or embarrassing for a POTUS to be doing this?

  • Friday

So, tell me more about how Presidents can’t have conflicts of interests and how Trump would never do any such thing as this again and again and again?

  • Jeff D

Donald, Why do you have to be pushed to do the right thing?

    • Gianni

It has likely always been like that for him. Ivanka is just the latest pusher.

  • CatCope

But, Donny, I thought you were a “businessman” (tsk tsk) & knew how it works?
I don’t think being a “great person” has anything to do with profits/losses.

    • Gianni

So true. Nordstrom should continue selling things that are not making them money because the manufacturers are “good people”. Donald will be totally ’round the bend by the end of the next four years!

  • Len Ricci

Apparently she hasn’t pushed him far enough… he’s still doing all the WRONG things.

  • BlindBill

The media needs to ignore the tweets of p45 – do not interview any spox – especially the ones that have proven themselves loyal to a person and not to their country, after all they receive their salary from the taxpayers, not from p45. Report details of presidential actions and deed/misdeed of the support staff. Stop giving these people who care little for the citizenry of this country a platform fro their petty grudges and personal business.

  • Dick518

If “she” Ivanka is pushing him to do the right thing, then why the fuck hasn’t she pushed him off the rooftop of Trump Tower… or have him committed to to local psych center… Hey-Suess Christos!

  • Gigi

Trump needs to be reminded that he’s no longer a private citizen. He needs to start behaving like a president – the Leader of the Free World – and not a petulant child.

    • Gianni

He comprehends things better that anybody else, but, unfortunately not THAT!

      • Gigi

Better than anybody else? I’m not so sure about that.

        • Gianni

          🙂 Those were his words.

          • Gigi

Ah. Lol. Thought you were a Breitbart commenter. (Yes. I went there. It was horrible.)

          • Gianni

That site is strictly for nutjobs.

  • NofoJake

Here’s my Nordstrom-insider insight on the issue: http://nofo.blogspot.com/2017/02/note-ivanka-trump-shoes-are-made-in.html
