The Hill reports:
President Obama on Friday tweeted out his final goodbyes to the American public in the waning hours before Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 45th president of the U.S. As he departed from the White House, Obama stopped to leave a note on the president’s desk for Trump. The gesture is a time-honored tradition that presidents take part in as the White House changes hands. Obama’s @POTUS account tweets will transition over to @POTUS44 later Friday, and @POTUS will be wiped clean for President-elect Trump to take over after he assumes the office. Obama’s other presidential social media accounts will undergo a similar archiving and transition process as well.
