Trump Taps Billionaire Pharma Mogul And NFL Franchise Owner Woody Johnson To Be Ambassador To Britain

Swampity-swamp-swamp. Reuters reports:

President-elect Donald Trump said on Thursday that National Football League team owner Woody Johnson was “going to St. James,” indicating he would assume the plum diplomatic post of U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom. Trump referred to Johnson, owner of the New York Jets, as “ambassador” during remarks at a luncheon in Washington honoring supporters on the eve of his swearing in as the 45th U.S. president.

More from The Hill:

Johnson, a member of the Johnson & Johnson family, has known the real estate mogul for years. He started the 2016 campaign as ex-Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s finance chairman, drawing a critical tweet from Trump last January that dinged both Johnson and his football team. But Johnson became a big-time donor to Trump’s presidential bid, and hosted a number of high-dollar fundraisers for him later in the cycle.
