Sean Hannity: Amen, Make Russia Great Again!

Mediaite reports:

Fox News host Sean Hannity tweeted his enthusiastic agreement Sunday when someone tweeted at him that Americans should work together to “make Russia great again.” Hannity was responding to a tweet from an account called “Donnie L’il Hands,” which he apparently did not realize was mocking him and Donald Trump.

Hannity has come under fire in recent days for his softball interviews of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, who U.S. intelligence agents claim received the hacked DNC emails from Russia. Until recently, Hannity was a fierce critic of both Assange and Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Hannity has since deleted the “Amen!” tweet, but followed up with the below.

Hannity is a college drop-out and it shows.

    • Jerry Kott

I thought he graduated from “Clown Junior College”?

At least he dropped out, rather than cheat, which is the Republican way.

    • safari

Well. He said he does want to build a proper ballroom.

Nice! But it needs lots of gold plating and a big “T” on the front.

Hannity…which country snuck nuclear weapons into Cuba and nearly started WWIII?

    • Stalin started The Holodomor (Ukrainian: Голодомо́р),[a] It was a man-made famine in Soviet Ukraine in 1932 and 1933 that killed an estimated 2.5–7.5 million Ukrainians, with millions more counted in demographic estimates. It was part of the wider Soviet famine of 1932–33, which affected the major grain-producing areas of the country. I remember as a very young child seeing Hungarians being rounded up by invading Russians and handing from lamp posts.

  • Halou

“which enemy country did we have an alliance with to defeat the Nazis?”
So Hannity would be a-okay with giving away eastern Europe for free, again. Crafting some sort of ‘grand bargain’ that throws the liberties and freedom of a quarter billion people under the bus. I bet he has all the best friends.

    • tom

Ummm…Russia was initially a nominal ally of Germany. It wasn’t until 1941, after a sneak attack by Germany, that they changed sides. Germany nearly conquered Russia in that attack. Germany was only stopped at the cost of MILLIONS or Russian citizens and soldiers. It was join with us or be annihilated.

  • AtticusP

Funny: I always used to picture traitors as these sinister, powerful men.

I never would’ve pictured a pathetic little weasel like Sean Hannity in that role, but he is clearly the poster boy for treason.

    Lock him up.

  • Ninja0980

Yup, the party of St. Ronnie is dead.

    • Gustav2

Hannity is not a Republican, he is a member of the Conservative Party in NY.

  • Lawerence Collins

Was Hannitys hair color platinum blonde?

  • Poor Sean — he just can’t win.

Maybe it’s because almost everyone is smarter than he is.

  • America was never great, but Russia was also never great. Just like America, the country was built on the oppression and colonization of scores of people groups. You don’t get a country that size without imperialism and colonialism. Furthermore, Russia’s “great” periods were all marked by brutal oppression of lower classes. Even Stalin’s regime oppressed the lower class, they just disguised it by calling everyone comrade.

Also, to all you Putin apologists on the left, Russia is not socialist. They never were socialist, especially not under Stalin. The closest they every came to actual socialism was under Lenin and that didn’t last long.

    • Gene

I would argue that unlike Russia, we aspired to greatness…and at moments…when the Rev, MLK spoke on the mall…when we landed on the moon, and were united…when we sent out our peace corp workers, and when LBJ and Roosevelt tried to enact a safety net, but do so without killing initiative, when we founded the very 1st on earth National Park, and began to see our land as an inheritance to pass on, not only exploit, even now, for all our faults, when most of us see people of different colors, and faiths and heritages and cultures taking their oaths of citizenship…when, as Japanese and German friends of a certain age point out “we could not believe..were, stunned, that you did not raid us to the foundations, but, rebuilt us under the Marshall plan” (for reasons both human, and long term military, I admit, but, it worked)

we have failed. often. but, we have had moments and times of greatness. And, even when we failed, we aspired to it. I am married to an immigrant from a vicious communist dictatorship, so…I suppose I see it through his eyes. not with rose colored glasses, but, able to see that there are a lot of real roses among the weeds

      • Dale Snyder

I might include the days when I was a toddler. Minimum wage was the equivalent of $21, practically no one was on government assistance, and my father (the only worker in our family of five) was able to pay off his mortgage in THREE years.

        • The Return of Traxley

Plus, it was not uncommon to work for the same employer for over 30 years without suffering from progressively crippling alcoholism along the way. Your company valued you, as you did likewise.

      • TSS

I’m no Communist but the Bolshevik revolution was nothing if not an attempt at greatness. The Soviets wanted to make a “new man” that would reject capitalist values and be committed to equality. Regardless of what actually happened, which was pretty horrible, Communism did contain some noble (and great) ideas.

        • Veylon

Strangely, in their early days the Soviets admired the American way of life. Here, too, was a country that had thrown off a hereditary aristocracy, declared that all men were equal, and left each individual to pursue success unbound by tradition or religious law. Communism and Capitalism have common roots.

    • BobSF_94117

There are Putin apologists on the left?

      • Plenty, unfortunately. Many Stein supporters are in fact. They presume that anti-American automatically mean anti-imperialists. Of course, these uneducated dweebs are oddly silent about Russia’s involvement in Aleppo.

        • TrollopeReader

Stein was at the same table with Putin and Gen. Flynn at the RT dinner recently ….

  • Lazycrockett

I swear I was totally unaware of how many commies were running this country.

  • Halou

That really depends on the definition of “enemy country”, doesn’t it? Judging by the attitude and behavior of some people in America’s new politics I’m sure the answer could just as easily be France or Britain.

  • That_Looks_Delicious

Drumpf himself said it repeatedly in one of the debates: “Ask Hannity.”

  • StraightGrandmother

I tweeted the HELL Out of the Amen! Tweet.
I tweeted it to Lindsay Grahm
    John McCain
Senator Snowe, I think she is the Sentornfrom Maine.
    Rand Paul
I wanted Republicans to see it.
We are in a whole new era now.
    We must be the #Resistance
And I saw another story that only 17% of American believe the Russian Intelligence Report on Russian hacking and 83% believe Wikileaks.
    It’s terrifying!

    • Anastasia Beaverhousen

What is a Resistance without rebels? I choose to rebel.

    • Halou

It is terrifying, that 17%-83% statistic is going to come back and bite America on the ass one day. If or when a 9/11 scale incident happens Wikileaks sure as hell isn’t going to be there to save people.

      • charemor

There probably will be another 9/11 type incident and of course, just like Dubya, Trump will pay no attention to the warning. If it does happen, let’s just hope that it is Trump property that gets hit.

        • Lars Littlefield

He’ll blame the US security agencies for not doing their job,
          ’cause he always does his.

        • clay

Trump– “There should have been regular security briefings at the highest level.”

Uh, there were, until you came along.

          • Nowhereman

He actually said that? What a maroon!

        • Steverino

And just like after 9/11, goobs will wear T-shirts displaying a picture of the destruction, with the caption: “Obama’s and Hillary’s Legacy.”

    • Silver Badger

i truly think that a much larger percentage of Americans believe American intelligence reports of Russian hacking.

      • Gianni

You are right. No question that the disbelievers are those inexplicable dummies who are drunk on Trump and company. They actually find Pooty more acceptable than Obama. The ‘Dummy Plague’ is swamping the country.

    • What exactly was there to “believe” in the Wikileaks email? I mean, I believe that Hillary Clinton probably got creme brule, as revealed in those email. But as far as things like “rigged primaries” and such nonsense, those emails can’t be believed because there was nothing like that in those emails. That’s like believing Klingons exist because it says so in the Bible, even though it doesn’t.

      • Actually a more apt analogy is believing the Bible speaks against abortion even though it says nothing against it.

        • Chucktech

Indeed, somewhere in there it says you’re not a person until you’ve taken your first breath.

          • Yep. The only other mention of abortion is if a man causes a miscarriage against the will of another man, then he must pay property damage which amounts to a modest sum of money. If it were murder like anti-women anti-choice crowd says it is, the the punishment would have been death. But as the old testament clearly states, a fetus not alive (also it basically states that women are property but we already knew how misogynistic the book is).

          • Nowhereman

Exactly. All the concern trolling about women’s welfare and the unborn is pretty new.

        • Nowhereman

There’s actually instructions in there to induce miscarriages, and of course god was big on sending armies out to kill the newborn and unborn alike.

          • Craig Howell

Not to mention his wholesale slaughter of innocent fetuses and children in the Great Flood (according to Usually Unreliable Sources).

      • Halou

Someone did translate the Bible into Klingon, so clearly proof that Klingons are Christian.

      • PickyPecker
        • William

Wow, Link from the Mod Squad with a Klingon. That must have been one crazy crossover episode.

    • Snowe retired. Collins is from Maine and supposedly a moderate but she’s campioning Jeff Session so don’t count on her in the confirmations.

      • Ninja0980

Snowe was one of the last true moderates left, which is why she retired.
She knew the road the GOP was going down and wanted no part of it.

But, I have heard from sooo many people that they are coming down with whatever the hell this is. 🙁

Gene, I hope you and your husband get better soon. Really sorry to hear that you’re both having health issues. Good luck healing fast.

I feel sorry for you Gene.
Does your throat hurt like hell too?
I get so much pain in my throat it wakes me up in the few hours I manage to fall asleep.
Now I’ve got a bad headache.
Since it is an infection, not a virus, I’m quite positive it is a sinus infection, so I’m taking self prescribed Amocicillian. I have had 3 doses and I know from experience I don’t really feel better until the 4th & 5th dose.
My vouce is so low I sound like a man, and yes I can feel it going to my lungs, I’m fighting that off with meds.
Claritan, Sudafed & amocicillian, now I’m going to hit the asprin for my headache.
I never even got out of my pajamas yesterday.
You are wise to remove yourself from you sick hubby.
As bad as this is, I know many people suffer worse with more serious health issues, so nothing to do but get through this.

        • McSwagg

This is days too late, but you might try it next time you have a sore throat. Place an aspirin tablet on the back of your tongue, just in front of your “gag” point and let it dissolve. It will taste bad, but the aspirin dissolved in your saliva trickles down your throat and is absorbed directly there. It helps relieve some of the sore throat pain, though it’s not a cure. I hope you are feeling better as you read this.

    • canoebum

      Sean is (sorry) retarded.

Question: After WW2, which country imprisoned more than half the European continent, installed dictators as puppet regimes and spent 5 decades torturing, imprisoning and murdering dissenters? Which county before, during and after WW2 caused the deaths of 20 million if its own citizens and created a system of political prisons across the harshest terrain on Earth? Which country imprisoned, tortured and executed the wives and children of political dissenters? Which country systematically executed an entire class of skilled workers (farmers) and then forced millions with no farm experience onto collectives, resulting in a famine which killed millions?

Sean is not a very intelligent person.

  • Jean-Marc in Canada

Poor Sean, still hasn’t figured out how the internet works, or that it has a “photographic” memory. Bahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Natty Enquirer

The Soviet Union joined the Allies after it was invaded by Germany in 1941. It was not an enemy of the United States.

    • Anastasia Beaverhousen

The enemy of my enemy philosophy.

      • Gianni

Exactly. Up to the moment Germany attacked Russia, Stalin and Hitler had a non-aggression pact. Russia was caught completely off-guard by Germany’s treachery.

    • Earl

Their political philosophy was rather opposed to what you stand for. What they actually did in power was fucking evil. Up until they were invaded by Germany they were lobbying the world for peace with the Nazis.

      I say, fuck them.

  • StraightGrandmother

I wish I believed things will get better, I wish I could believe that, but I don’t, I think we are in scary times.

O/T: This made me smile…LOS ANGELES—Carrie Fisher, who was laid to rest alongside her mother Debbie Reynolds Friday, was adored by family, friends and fans for her gallows humour and frank talk about her struggles with mental illness.

What better home for her ashes then, her brother Todd Fisher and daughter Billie Lourd decided, than a porcelain urn in the shape of an outsized anti-depressant?

“Carrie’s favourite possession was a giant Prozac pill that she bought many years ago,” Todd Fisher said Friday as he left the private joint funeral at Forest Lawn—Hollywood Hills for his mother and sister. “She loved it, and it was in her house, and Billie and I felt it was where she’d want to be,” he said.

  • Hey Sean: Since the 1950s, which country was deemed an existential threat to the existence of the United States itself, to the point where we nearly went to nuclear war over missiles being installed in Cuba? And whose increasing belligerence after WW2 prompted the creation of NATO. And let’s not even get into the decades-long partition of Germany, and the Berlin airlift or any other history that happened between 1946 and 2016.

Now the intuit are paid and patrolling the borders. Not sure what they will do when a Russian sub submerges LOL. On to this moment in time. We have a young Prime Minister who walks in gay parades and he is negotiating with certain indigenous people to give them back their land. We legislated gay marriage in 2005 just after Spain. Yes, a lot of money from the USA is poured into Canada, but gays and minorities are not subjected to White Supremacy organization s to the degree that the USA is involved. I support all Americans in their effort to remove Trump and to fight against the religious right who are NOT religious or right!

I’d like Russia to be great again, too. First step, let Putin retire to the south of France with, say, 10% of his wealth. It was the way things were done in the past, let the autocrat get away and spare the nation a civil war. Plus with 90% of his holdings. they’d be sitting pretty.

It was the go-to destination for deposed dictators. The French didn’t mind so much, as it brought a lot of money to the already wealthy enclaves and the high-security households just fit right in with the resident billionaires.

The main benefit was to the country left behind. As messed up as Haiti is, imagine if Papa Doc hadn’t exiled himself in France. Better yet, imagine Syria today if Assad had just up and moved to Cannes. Aleppo might still be inhabitable.

    • Treant

      That is one happy horse!

    • kareemachan

OMG, this is just too funny! I’m glad the horse is having a fun time!

  • Octoberfurst

Call me crazy but I do seem to recall a time when right-wingers like Hannity despised Russia and anyone who wanted to cozy up to them was called a traitor. My how times have changed!

    • djcoastermark

No, your not crazy, but people like us will soon be labeled as the crazy ones in need of incarceration.

    • grada3784

That was Soviet Russia, not Tsar Vladimir’s Russia. The House of Putin rules.

      • Octoberfurst

        You’re right. My bad.

  • Jack

Maybe we can send them wheat and help them make nuclear weapons and the missiles to deliver them!

  • margaretpoa

That’s the kind of absurd responses you get when your subject is an ideologue. Reality is malleable and one’s opinion depends on the circumstances. I can’t wait to see him carried out of his home by a wrathful mob.

  • Elsewhere1010

And which country brought down the Iron Curtain after WWII?

Which country spied on the United States trying to acquire information about nuclear bomb technology?

Which country did HUAC believe to be behind the American communist movement?

What kind of country puts up with political pundit whose memory appears to be about fifteen minutes in duration?

    • David L. Caster

A country with something less than a 15 minute memory.

  • Carl

I guess the attitude is it isn’t treason when straight white guys do it. The Hannitys of the the world really have a low bar compared to the rest of us.

  • Ben in Oakland

Does this mean small hannity doesn’t bother to read anything before he opens his yap or hits send?

    • Ross

      You are sweet.

You assume he has the intelligence required to read.

      • Ben in Oakland

What can I say? I’m a nice guy

        • TrollopeReader

yes. you are! even though it seems one of you is strangling the other in the avatar!!

          • b

            love at first bite

          • Ben in Oakland

It’s kittens, fergawdsakes. KITTENS!!!! Being adorable!!!

          • TrollopeReader

            Yay! KITTENS!! Adorable !!

      • Millstone

You think Hannity lacks intelligence and is too stupid to read? He’s an evil genius / master manipulator who knows his audience and how to pander to it.

        • kareemachan

          Nah. He’s a stupid punk-ass twerp.

But I will admit: he can read.

  • KnownDonorDad

FOX would be losing its collective crap if Democrats were voicing pro-Russia statements. There needs to be more of a backlash.

    • Skeptical_Inquirer

Considering its audience is old enough to remember the Cold War and the Cuba missile crisis personally, it boggles the mind that the same audience is hand waving this shit.

      • TrollopeReader

they grew up celebrating the War of Southern Aggression 1861-65….

        • kareemachan

I think you mean the War of NORTHERN Aggression….

    • Platos_Redhaired_Stepchild

I think FAUX News has been pushing the line of bs that Putin is a better leader than Obama for awhile now.

      This is dated 2014.

  • Dale Snyder

It’s no problem to me that an illiterate right-winged uneducated moron would equate “Great Again” under Stalin’s rule, but perhaps it really should review the history of the Soviet Union before and during WW2.

What is the IQ of this piece of right-winged shit? 5?

    • djcoastermark

      To much credit.

  • Blackfork

Hannity, another street pussy, bought and sold.

  • Brian in Valdosta

    Are. You. Fucking. Kidding. Me?

We literally went through decades of Cold War against punk-ass thugs like Putin. Fuck you (and that’s the plural ‘you’).

    • Homo Erectus

I thought the plural ‘you’ was y’all in Valdosta 😉

      • johncAtl

Bless your heart. You speak southern.

  • TampaDink

Is Hannity trying to imply that nothing has changed within the govt. of any nation since WWII?

    • Mike_in_the_Tundra

It’s only been 72 years. Nothing could change in that amount of time.

      • TampaDink

        Of course not.

  • RemusL

Hannity seems to be totally clueless as to what “enemy country” actually means. It was a temporary alliance in WWII against a mutual foe. That was followed by decades of a little something called the “Cold War”.

  • Larry in Oklahoma

OK, so we bombed the crap outta Japan but we later made up with them and that was a good thing. My point is that this was 70+ years ago when we were in that war. Has Russia come around to being our friend? I haven’t seen it. So why are Hannity and trump and all the rest wanting to be Putin’s asshole buddies??

  • rusty57

Question, Torture, have you been waterboarded yet?

  • Homo Erectus

“Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you.”
-Nikita Khruschev, Former Premier of the Soviet Union

  • sword

It is obvious by now that most American right-wingers have a ‘control’ chip in their brains. Whatever their ‘Glorious Leader’ tells them…they obey. “Russia is bad…Boooo”; “Russia is good….Yaaay”

  • GayOldLady

This tweet by Hannity perfectly illustrates how STUPID most of the tRump sycophants really are. Russia is today and has always been an invader and occupier. It was an ally in WWII because had it not been it would NOT have had the resources, mostly provided by the USA, to fight defeat Hitler in his quest to annex Russia. And Putin is unadulterated evil. Anyone who takes sides with a former KGB agent and tinpot dictator over President Obama is an abomination. You own it Hannity.

  • DuaneBidoux

You know things have gotten pretty twisted when Republicans start defending Russia.
