Huckabee: Romney Should Grovel Before Trump And Apologize For Hurting The Republican Party [VIDEO]

Via Mediaite:

Mike Huckabee is encouraged by the Mitt Romney–Donald Trump meeting this weekend, but he thinks Romney needs to enter by showing contrition. He told Fox’s Eric Bolling tonight, “I hope he comes hat in hand. I hope he makes an apology for the things he said about Donald Trump. He was wrong. He was hurtful, he hurt the party, he hurt Donald Trump, Donald Trump still won. He owes Donald Trump an apology and he owes him his support.”

Romney is meeting with Trump today to discuss the Secretary of State job.

  • jmax

Never mind that everything Romney said was true.

    • DonnaLee

Sadly he also might have been a good choice for this election in hindsight.

  • Gustav2

Trump is a snowflake who needs a safe space.

  • Sashineb

Said the Southern Baptist to the Mormon …

  • DaddyRay

Considering that Romney is the closest thing Trump has to a sane credible pick it should be the other way around

  • Oh noes Romney hurt the Republican party special snowflake feelings.

  • bkmn

Trump had better watch his back. Rmoney would still love to be Prez.

    • KnownDonorDad

Viewed another way, Trump is keeping his political enemy closer than some of his friends.

        “September 2017?”
I don’t think it will take that long.

“Do you ever wonder if they will ever find a cure…I just want to be there. If they ever do find a cure. Can you imagine what that will be like? It’ll be like the end of World War Two.”
      ~Longtime Companion, 1990.

    • The_Wretched

The problem with HIV is that it integrates into the nuclear DNA. This antibody is great for studies and maybe therapy but it wouldn’t be a cure.

  • JB

Long gone are the good ‘ole days when you could strap a dog atop your SUV and drive off down the highway and no one gave a crap I miss those times…

    • paganguy

Or gather your friends together and force someone you think might be gay to the ground and cut their hair for them.

      • Oscarlating Wildely

Quick tangent: I saw Frank Bruni speak and he noted that had no idea why anyone was freaking out over that episode. And yea, he’s gay.

        • paganguy

Because that level of bullying was so normalized that people just accepted it as the cost of growing up – or maybe surviving childhood is a better way to put it. That had started to change, I think. But my fear (or at least one of them) is that the rise in hate speech and violence will lead to a level of normalization where people begin to just accept it again.

          • Stephen Elliot Phillips

I was so bullied in middle and high school I still have PTSD because of it. I get sudden panic attacks. I have to force myself not to be paranoid. and I have social anxiety.
For what I went through I think I survived pretty well.
And I dont put up with bullies. I didnt then and I dont now.

        • Skeptical_Inquirer

I’m all “Clothes can fall off and just need a wash. A dog falls off the roof of a car and he’s going to need to be put down from all the injuries.”

    • Carl

It’s telling that his thoughts are not “what can I do for my county” but instead “how can I use this to take my revenge”.

  • Bill Post

Romney needs to watch the use of trigger words: integrity, honesty, character… Otherwise it may cause the Donald to kill someone.

  • Todd Allis

Hahaha, thanks for the laugh, Huckabee!

  • TexasBoy

Grovel, beg for forgiveness! The Führer may allow you to live!

    • thatotherjean

Or not. He’s a vengeful bastard.

  • GayOldLady

I don’t know how Romney can even consider working for Trump. Maybe he’s going just to tell Trump to shove it.

    • Skeptical_Inquirer

Maybe the Mormon Church is urging him to do so to try to curb the anti-immigrant mania (a lot of new converts are in Latin America and a lot of their missionaries go there) and fend off anti-Mormon urges by others in the administration. Fundie churche people loathe Mormons. Just a thought.

      • Cuberly

Yep, bible-bangers the likes of Bryan Fischer would NOT be pleased with rMoney being part of Drumpf’s cabinet.

    • greenmanTN

I have given up on dreaming of GOP ethics, morality and standards. I’m more likely to get a unicorn for Christmas. FYI, I’m going to name him “Fluffy.”

      • GayOldLady

LOL!!! Fluffy, that’s one of my favorite names for Unicorns.

      • thatotherjean

Awww. May I come over and pet him?

  • Robert Conner

All you have to know about HuckyBooBoo, Southern Baptist preacher man and career grifter–or did I just repeat myself?

“Clemmons was given a 95-year prison sentence in Arkansas in 1989 for a host of charges, including robberies, burglaries, thefts and bringing a gun to school; recently charged with assaulting a peace officer, and rape of a child. His sentence was commuted in 2000 by then-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.” ….4 police officers killed by a low-life POS that should have been rotting behind bars but was pardoned after only ELEVEN years of his 95 year sentence. Huckabee did the EXACT same thing for another convicted rapist who later raped and murdered a young woman after being pardoned. Huckabee should face partial liability, at least in civil court. He made a decision – TWO decisions – that went against what a jury and a judge deemed appropriate, and now 5 people have been murdered, 2 raped and countless others effected. Huckabee should stand trial WITH Clemmons, the accused killer.”

Maurice Clemmons convinced HuckyBooBoo that he’d “found Jesus” and got an early release by the Christofascist governor of Ark ‘n Saw. He then promptly murdered four police officers, all parents, leaving behind widows and orphans.

  • robert x martin

Huckabee, I’ve seen bottoms enjoy extreme humiliation but this is nasty. Get help.

  • Jon Doh

Mike, didn’t you get the memo that you are totally irrelevant?

  • Barry William Teske

    Huckabee Meet MiloY
I am sure you two will get along alt-famously!

“What was that you said about a ‘post-fact universe’?”

“I don’t care about how people feel, I only care about facts.”

“Oh, but you see. People don’t respond positively to just facts, we have to engage with them on an emotional level, by making them laugh or making them angry, etc…”

“But you just said, like half a minute ago, that people’s emotional states are irrelevant and only facts matter.”

    • Stephen Elliot Phillips

all that logic works better when its texted. silly you.

  • Mrs. Councillor Nugent

Sycophantasia: Thinking you can diss someone politically, then grovel for inclusion in their administration.

  • Dot Beech

Mike Huckabee should throw himself in front of a fast moving bus.

    • Stephen Elliot Phillips

      that poor poor bus

      • I was thinking the same thing immediately LOL

    • agcons

      He can’t move fast enough.

  • Tom G

TRump should suck Romney’s balls to convince him to join the cabinet and help him bring a tiny bit of experience to his circus.

    • And respect from Democrats. Who else are we going to trust to tone down the unprofessionalism there? Guliani? Gingrich? They are both evil. Maybe Bob Corker but I don’t know him as week as Romney.

      • thatotherjean

Money does not buy class. Neither Romney nor Trump has a thimbleful of class, no matter how much money they have.

    • thatotherjean

Urgh. Um. . .ptui!. . .bleeeech. . .yeah. Trump really does need somebody who has even the faintest clue how the government actually works.

  • Bad Tom

    Rmoney merely lost an election.
Drumpf turned the Republicans into Fascists.

Who is worse is pretty clear.
    To us, at least.

    • karmanot

      exactly so

    • They were well on their way. Trump, thanks to our “Free press”, merely made fascism respectable.

      • OdieDenCO

our press is not free. it has been bought and paid for, just like our congress.

      • Bad Tom

He tapped into and magnified what was already there.
But he was the catalyst, and I despise him for that.

        • Strepsi

Yep — he literally built his political fortunes on stoking the claim for 4+ years that the first black president is not an American.

Fascist, racist, and an asshole of gigantic proportions.

    • Trump really is a fascist isn’t he? You are not exaggerating.

      • Bad Tom

In all seriousness, I am not.

      • Todd20036

Whether Trump himself is a fascist or not is immaterial. He’s nominating fascists and dominists to Cabinet posts.

So it amounts to the same thing.

        • grada3784

“Those who foolishly sought power by riding the back of the tiger, ended up inside.”

    • grada3784

Is there some way we can turn Republicans into bulbs of garlic?

  • Ben in Oakland

I never thought I would agree with the huckster about anything, but I do agree about this.

Let rMoney show that he hasn’t the slightest shred of actual principles or morals

    • kareemachan

      Fuckabee’s worse.

  • karmanot
  • Mike in NC

So Hucksterbee wants Romney to do the Walk to Canossa?

    • Craig Howell

I was wondering if anybody would make that reference. But Hair Trump probably wouldn’t like being compared to a mere Pope.

  • Jean-Marc in Canada

If Romney had any principles, let alone a spine, he’d repeat what he thinks of Trump to his face and leave.

Hey, I said IF, because even I know Romney has neither principles nor a spine.

  • ceeenbee

huckleberry ought to worry more about raising his kids not to torture and kill defenseless animals. A lesson on the vices of gluttony wouldn’t hurt either.

  • (((dagobarbz)))

    I Hate Huckabee!

    • Robincho

      I Fart Huckabee!

  • thatotherjean

If anything, Trump should grovel to Romney and apologize for dragging the Neo-Nazis and racists to the forefront of the party. Romney wasn’t much, but he was civil to his opponent–at least to his face. But the Trump-Romney meeting will probably end in high-fives and back-slapping camaraderie.

  • Mark McGovern

I hold Hucksbee in higher regard than Romney. At least Huckabee never denied being a bigoted Trump prick sucking minion. After what Romney said about Trump, and now he’s going to work from him? What a pathetic, ass licking, morals deficit loser. And every head of state in the land will play him for the boot licker he is.

    • thatotherjean

Didn’t work for Christie; may not work for Romney, either. Although the actual governing of the country might benefit if it did.

    • Ben in Oakland

But I like ass licking. Now you’ve urined it for me.

      • Todd20036

        You like peeing on ass?

Nothing wrong with that, mind you.

        • Ben in Oakland

ooooops. way Freudian slip. RUINED it.
          Damn pervert ipad.

  • I bet no one on Trump’s team can tolerate Huckabee. There is something about him that is so bullshitty that no direct New Yorker is going to put up with. Can anyone see Jared Kushner (who I doubt is a social conservative) is going to put up with his evangelical shtick, or that obnoxious, overbearing scolding tone of his? At best they will give him ambassador somewhere. Maybe Norway or the Netherlands, someplace where he can’t cause too much trouble.

    • kareemachan

It’s not “Schmuckabee”, it’s “Fuckabee”, followed by “Poor bee”…

      • My mom calls him Schmuckabee. She won’t use the “f” word 🙂 lol.

        • grada3784

          I prefer Upchuckabee.

    • KnownDonorDad

But Mike Pence will be Vice President. Smoother exterior, but the same evangelical hatred.

  • Question: Does Romney hate LGBT people as much as Huckabee does?

    • KQCA

On frequent visits to relatives in the south a few years back, I watched some of Huckabee’s TV show. He was very very charming in a winning-over-grandma sort of way as the most vile filth poured from his lips about gays and anyone outside the evangelical circle.

I haven’t heard of Romney voicing his hate for us in such foul language as I heard coming from Huckabee’s filthy mouth on that program.

  • j.martindale

If Romney had any self respect, he would have politely refused the audience with Herr Fuehrer.

  • Piet

I don’t think Romney should apologize to dRumpf for anything he’s said or done. But if he is indeed meeting him with the idea of asking for a job in his Cabinet, I’ll lose the last shred of respect I had for him.

    • EweTaw

He’s a Republican. I’ve never had any respect of any sort for him.

  • JaniceInToronto

Didn’t Huckabee die a while back?

    He sure looks dead…

    • JCF

Body (marginally) alive, soul is dead.

      • Todd20036

        Brain is pretty dead, too

  • Mark

    Cheesus Huck…isn’t the rapture calling?

    • Silver Badger

      No, He’s been “Left Behind”!

  • Silver Badger

Huckabee’s crying about hurtful language? He ain’t seen nothing yet.

  • Because Romney’s Jesus came to ancient America and preached to Jewish-American Indians after coming back to life, whereas Huckabee’s Jesus simply floated up into the sky.

  • Richard B

While Mitt Romney makes a sensible point and old numb nuts Huckabee opens his stupid mouth to prove what an idiot he is..

  • Mike Knife

Huckabee: Romney Should Grovel Before Trump And Apologize For Hurting The Republican Party. Everybody knows Romney only worships Kolob the God that governs all the others.

    • got that kinda backwards: Kolob is the planet Mormon god lives on, or so my foolish mother insisted. I’d get confirmation on this however I had to cut her out of my life long ago

  • rusty57

I can’t help it. Mitt, Don and Mike really do deserve each other.

  • Trump should be begging Romney to take a job in his administration since he’s the only remotely respectable name that’s been floated so far. I think Romney is wrong about a lot of things (and I sure didn’t vote for him) but he wouldn’t be an international embarrassment as Sec of State. Giuliani on the other hand….oy.

    • JohnFS

Don’t be too sure, unfortunately he would be. During his 2012 European tour, as the next potential President of the United States, he completely embarrassed himself in Europe and the UK. It was a disaster especially in the UK and he was a laughing stock. Our normally reticent (UK) Civil Service fed to the press the opinions of Civil Servants and UK politicians who met with him. The kindest thing they said – “You would not call this man a deep thinker”. Along with “Clueless” and “Ignorant”. The Daily Mail quoted one mandarin as saying “What a car crash. We are speechless”, while from a “diplomatic source” to The Times: “It is worse than Sarah Palin in terms of basic diplomacy”.. Another official who met with the former Governor of Massachusetts said he was “apparently devoid of charm, warmth, humor or sincerity”. A couple of UK headlines “Nowhere Man” in the Times of London and “Mitt the Twit” in The Sun

From ‘Time’ – then on Tuesday, he sought to close his tour in Poland — and preen Reagan-era feathers — by meeting Solidarity leaders who helped topple communist rule. But Romney wound up being rebuked by the union’s current leadership. Far from the warm endorsement he got from iconic Solidarity co-founder Lech Walesa, Solidarity itself issued a statement criticizing Romney and the GOP for their offensive against collective-bargaining agreements in several states that it called “attacks on trade unions and employees’ rights.” So much for being buddies with the world’s most avidly anticommunist, pro-market, pro-American labor union.

He’d still better than Giuliani though, which in itself, is saying quite a lot!

Have a laugh at the links –

      • Oy. I forgot about that. But still better than Giuliani. But I’m embarrassed for having lowered the bar that far.

        • JohnFS

Don’t be embarrassed you didn’t lower it, they did. Are there any Limbo dances in the GOP?

  • gothambear

My fiancé and i are betting that Trump is just parading his former enemies around so he looks thoughtful and gives them hope and then will humiliate them by dumping them from consideration. So Romney looks like the ass-licking tool we always knew he really is and then Trump dispatches his enemy while looks magnanimous. Brilliant. Just like Adolph in 1933.

  • Spray on abs

What ever happened to turn the other cheek Huckster?

It’s a scary, scary world when Romney begins to look like a reasonable choice for anything.

  • amati1684

Huck is too stupid to realize that the Tea Party and Trump have destroyed the Republican Party.

  • Marti386

“Huckabee: Romney should grovel before Trump”

  • sword

Huckabee is an expert in groveling before Trump…but Romney needs more practice in A$$ kissing, that Mike is also an expert at.

  • Solander

Bozo Trump. You risk losing loyalty from Huck, Newt and Rudi your most loyal and ablest defenders of the Movement…all for Romney. You have betrayed the voters who stuck by you.
