Muslim Ban Vanishes From Trump’s Website

The Telegraph reports:

A statement calling for a ban on Muslims entering the United States has been removed from Donald Trump’s campaign website. The Trump team appears to have removed the statement, in which Mr Trump said on December 7, 2015: “Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.

“According to Pew Research, among others, there is great hatred towards Americans by large segments of the Muslim population. Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension. Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine,” the statement continued.

“Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life.” The page now redirects to the campaign homepage.

Anyone want to guess how long before the fascists scream about this?

Hey, if it means no concentration camps, then Trump already exceeded my expectations.

  • Rebecca Gardner

Too late. The damage is already done. Time for me to become the next Sophie Scholl and start a new White Rose.

Women in hijabs on 2 campuses say they were attacked by men invoking Donald Trump

    • Todd20036

      THey’ll use any excuse.

      Hijabs? Too Muslim

      Colorful? Too gay

Jeans/shirts/ties on a woman? Too lesbian

      Latino? Illegal.

      Black? Terrorist/thug

      • clay

        Native American? Too Latino.
(Which also undercuts their claim that it’s cultural, not racist.)

        • Snarkaholic

          Native American? Not Christian enough.
          Latino? Not Protestant enough.

      • Acronym Jim

        A Sikh? Also too Muslim.

    • NancyP

Both incidents ended with thefts. I think that there may be an element of choosing someone who they “know” won’t fight back. Hate crime plus opportunism.

  • Ragnar Lothbrok

What ?!! But that is why most of them voted for him !

    • Blake Jordan

Well that and the Mexican rapist stuff…

    • B Snow

IKR?! It would be awesome to see him walk back his most extreme views and give his supporters aneursyms. *WE* knew he was a liar, but they just kept believing him.

I’ll be counting the days from Jan. 20 until the roundup of illegal immigrants begins, and also for the start of that wall.

  • VodkaAndPolitics

I can’t tell you how many Trump supporters reached out to me over the last day or so, just to let me know that I, personally, will not be put in the concentration camps. I thought that was very nice of them, they didn’t have to do that.

    • RobynWatts

Just make sure that their fingers weren’t crossed.

    • Todd20036

And they won’t push us off buildings. Everything is rosy now! Guess we don’t need those silly pride parades anymore.

    • Chucktech

Aw, how nice for you. You’ll be a house faggot!

    • Oh last night I had a Trump supporter contact me via Facebook and tried to convince me that Trump was “pro-gay” and had no intention of ever trying to stop marriage equality.

Even after I produced videos of Trump saying otherwise, he told me that Trump had just “said those things because he is the most pro-gay member of the GOP ever and had to say that to get elected”.

I pointed out to him that “So you are telling me that Trump lied”?

He had nothing to say after that.

      • Chucktech

Honestly, I don’t think your FB guy is too far off. Trump doesn’t give two shits about gay anything and, once he’s in the oval office hot seat, his plate is going to be so full of crap that he never even dreamed he’d have to deal with that any christianist BS is going to be put so far back on the backest of back burners it’ll never amount to anything.

        • clay

Except it won’t be on the backburner for a couple of his cabinet secretaries nor for the Supreme vetted by Heritage and Tony Perkkkins.

          • Chucktech

Or, of course, his VP. Nevertheless, the Trump Administration is going to be so overwhelmed they won’t know whether to shit or wind their watch.

      • dcurlee

I had the exact same conversation

      • Stephanie Martinez

The sad fact is that attacking gay people isn’t nearly as popular as attacking those of us who are transgender, my community has been in the cross hairs for a while now and its just going to get worse.

What they didn’t tell you is that the prescribed treatment for homosexuality is stoning.

  • andymac3

Cynical me’s first thought was that it was only to reword the ban to include other religions and minorities, but with Trump being such a narcissist, perhaps he wants to be loved more than even he can hate and he can’t stand to have a lower popularity rating than Obama.

    • BudClark

He will NEVER have the popularity OR the ratings of our beloved President Obama. HISTORY will judge Trump’s legacy VERY harshly.

      • Chucktech

History will be aghast that the two worst presidents of all time were separated by a mere 8 years of the finest president of all time.

  • Natty Enquirer

Trump spewed a lot of crap to get the votes. We know he lies more than the average politician. What his presidency will actually be like is a huge question mark.

    • BudClark

And the Stupids ate it up like a coprophile noms a shit sandwich.

      • Chucktech

Coprophile. Google truly is my friend.

    • Snarkaholic

One aspect of it we can know for sure: The bigots, soon to be fully emboldened, will be attacking minorities, en masse, in the streets and getting away with it most of the time.

    • Lesley

True, but he is going to have to throw the bigots a bone. He has to repay his allies. Don’t think Falwell, Graham et al. were going to bat so hard for him for nothing. It won’t be pretty.

Anybody expecting liberal policies from this clown is delusional.

    • whollyfool

I totally agree, but looking at his cabinet I’m not sure anymore.

    • Friday

Whatever horrors he personally does or doesn’t add, it’s always been about the Christianist haters he’s going to empower. He’s trying to ‘play Presidential’ last I heard, but I think others are operating on the slim hope he can be ‘handled’ to some degree.

  • SoCalGal20

Pretty sure the 100 day plan includes stopping immigration from terrorist countries and using “extreme vetting” so just because it’s been removed from the website doesn’t mean much.

  • RobynWatts

Not only that, but I heard that the abortion ban was removed as well.

Fundies, you just got conned by The Don.

  • BeaverTales

You mean Trump lied again?? Oh noes, what a shock….

  • worstcultever

Now that he’s spent the last year feeding the American nazi/klan id, he can pretend to be a grownup. Meanwhile his national hate crew knows what to do.

  • Chucktech

How about the promise to finish off ISIS on Day One? Any mention of that??

    • Sashineb

Correct. He said one of the first things he will do is to declare war. Time will tell.

      • marshlc

Yet one of the reasons many on the left refused to support Clinton is that she was “war monger”. Sigh.

        • I never understood that mixed up thinking by both left and right…HRC is too hawkish yet Don the Con is the only one who can stop ISIS…perhaps by shaking his tiny pussy-grabber at them and puling “yer fired!” ergo no need for war?

  • Texndoc

“When the audience gets a little restless, I just say “WALL!” and they go crazy. “And who’s going to pay for it?!” and they’ll scream “Mexico”!!”

Remember President Donald. First 100 days.

  • Mike Knife

Never have I see a President like Donald Trump attack a minority group in America like Mexicans and call them rapist, drugs dealers, criminals and run them out of America. Mike Pence our vice president said would take the money from people with HIV and AIDS and give it to criminal anti-gay Christian psychotherapist to do Ex Gay Therapy on LGBT people. That would turn the system against gay people because Ex Gay therapy is a fraud that tortures and kills LGBT people. What Trump, Pence and other twisted people like them are doing is stirring up people in American up to hate Mexicans, LGBT people and other minorities. The reason minorities are being targeted, harassed and destroyed is because of evil paranoid people like Trump and Pence. Evil paranoid people like Trump, Pence and their cult Christian followers are using psychological warfare to turn Americans against each other. These paranoid and mentally twisted vigilantes think they are above any law or ethics. Government law enforcement’s job is to protect minorities from people who target, harass and harm them yet even groups like the FBI who also have some people with sick and twisted minds have destroyed minorities like the Black Panthers by turning them against each other so they would kill each other. Another group of paranoid and evil people with twisted minds are the anti-gay Christians in government law enforcement who think they have to target, stalk, harass and destroy gay people. Here in Long Beach anti-gay Christians in government law enforcement have illegally stalked, tricked, trapped, arrested and convicted innocent gay people. Finally a sane judge ruled against their discrimination and today 25 gay men are suing Long Beach and Chief Luna for discrimination. Minorities need to work together to stop evil, paranoid, mentally sick and twisted people who are tying to destroy them using psychological warfare and guns. Do not let the evil people stop you from getting the same equal rights, freedoms and justice that they have now..

  • BudClark

Like when you delete an icon from your desktop, it tells you,

“The program is still here. You must delete it.”

Don’t think for a MINUTE that closing U.S. mosques, deporting Muslims, and banning them from entering the U.S. isn’t still high on his list.

This points up something: it’s going to be VERY interesting to see Trump’s sycophants’ reaction when he CAN’T deliver on every single promise he made, and/or the entire Republican platform.

They will scream bloody murder if he DOESN’T.

A Reich-Wing Supreme Court CAN do us incalculable damage for years to come, but I hope and pray that even THEY won’t go to some of the places Trump wants to take the nation.

    • Acronym Jim

The one thing Trump has been consistent about is his apparent belief that being Muslim automatically makes a person a terrorist.

That’s why the “Obama is a secret Muslim” meme got so much traction. He literally can’t imagine a liberal Muslim, like, you know, Keith Ellison.

    • Snarkaholic

I’m hoping that he blames every single one of his (innumerable) failures to deliver on Pence and the Cabinet…pissing them off to the point where they are all backstabbing each other…and him.

    • NancyP

By the way, Hitler’s only 1933 move against Jews after the 1933 takeover was to have Jewish university professors, Jewish lawyers in the civil service, and other Jewish highly paid civil servants fired. The motivation was in large part to have payoff of high-status supporters by giving them the vacated positions. Other Jews were rarely targeted unless they were also prominent politicians and organizers of non-Nazi parties. Most of the violence in 1933 was directed towards Communists, Social Democrats (the center Protestant party), and Centers(center Catholic party) leaders, who were the first to go in the hastily arranged concentration camps in Dachau and a few other sites in Germany.

The big crunch came in three phases: 1935 Nuremberg Race Laws, 1938 Kristallnacht coordinated terrorism, 1941 no emigration allowed, all remaining German Jews slated to be killed by starvation as slave labor if in prime condition, killed immediately if .children or over 40-ish or otherwise not robust manual laborers.

  • TominDC

It’s cold comfort, but I’m really going to enjoy the reactions from the RWNJs when the orange baboon breaks his election promises (such as they are).

    • NancyP

I am going to enjoy the Trump demographic finding out that they will now not be covered fully by health insurance. You know that Trump and the Rs will repeal the ACA and let the insurance companies do what they did before ACA They think their out-of-pocket cost is high now? They are one job loss from health catastrophe. Wait until the middle-income diabetics find out that they can’t get treatment because of “pre-existing condition”. Yep, we can amputate your leg if you come in with gangrene and infected ulcer (potentially life threatening), but your eye doctor treatments won’t be covered – fork up or go blind.

      • TominDC

I mentioned it elsewhere, but I’ll repeat myself:

I look forward to congratulating those people for getting exactly what they voted for.

  • “Oceania is at war with Eastasia. Oceania has *always* been at war with Eastasia.”

  • Roger

The decent people will be furious with Drumpf, because of the damage that will be done to SCOTUS. I think this will be his worst legacy, and mostly a GOP doing at it.
But on the other side the nutjobs that voted for him are in for a dire surprise when they find out the orange baboon won´t do ANY of his deranged promises.
Donald has no substance whatsoever, he can´t find even his way to the bathroom without help, so he´ll be a puppet from day one, and the GOP has sure noticed that they DIDN´T get the majority of votes and – this preesent victory notwhistanding – they already must be very very concerned about their future.

    • boatboy_srq

This is why I think he’ll face impeachment within two years. Not for any actual “high crimes and miademeanors”, but for failing to enact the orthodox Teahadi agenda on which he campaigned.

      • William

The various lawsuits against Trump will ensure that happens.

  • boatboy_srq

Well, there goes tRump’s FundiEvangelical Xtian and ammosexual support.

Assuming he actually has an agenda, it will only get more difficult to enact from here. Gridlock may actually become our friend.

  • clay

I’m sure the House will soon have a bill creating a new “Asians Exclusion Acts”, limiting them by nation of origin, just to get around that pesky detail.

Meanwhile, home-schooled Chrisitianists will whine how Obama caused the genocide of SW Asian Christians.

  • MonochromeMouse

He’s even worse than I thought. Flip-Flopping on this means all he really wanted to do was stir the racists up, and now he is backtracking so when shit goes down he can say he never advocated it.

  • The_Wretched

Well good but does anyone really know what Trump will do? How is this guy president elect?

  • joe ho

His supporters won’t really care if he bans muslims or builds the wall. They got him elected to say screw you to the elites. They’ll find a way to rationalize and forgive him for anything he does or doesn’t do.

    • Jean-Marc in Canada

Yup, just like Catholics forgive child rapists.

  • Better And Better

“Update: all of the press release section of Donald Trump’s website is now re-directing to the homepage. This, according to internet abuse specialist Izzy Galvez, is reportedly due to a bug which meant people could type whatever they wanted into that section of his website.

His team appeared to have noticed, and fixed the bug by re-directing every page on that section of his website to the homepage.”

    Nothing to see here.

  • marshlc

The one thing we can be clear on, about Trump, is that he will do whatever he wants, on any issue, with no regard to his previous statements or previous position (or whether it’s good for the country, or whether it makes any sense, or whether there’s any justification for it, or whether it’s even nominally rational….)

Anyone who thinks they know what he’ll do hasn’t been paying attention. His policy positions are far more likely to be based on who sucked up to him most recently than on any real basis.

    • Tempus Fuggit

I disagree. The one thing we can be clear on about Trump is that he’s a 4-year-old. He will grow bored of the work of being President within minutes; he won’t have any substantial policy positions. Pence and co will be running the country from shortly after inauguration. This isn’t the first time, either. Reagan was a screen actor, Shrub was a chimpanzee, and Trump is a child: idiotic but wildly popular figureheads easily manipulated from out of public view.

  • LookielouE1707

Perhaps “I’m going to ban muslims from this country” is going to become this generation’s “I’m going to ban flagburning” or “I’m going to eliminate the budget deficit”.

  • Jean-Marc in Canada

“…..there is great hatred towards Americans by large segments of the Muslim population. Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension. Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine.”

Seriously? They posted that with a straight face? The answer starts in 1952 Iran and ends with 2003 Iraq. All you had to do was not fuck around with other people’s nations, but you didn’t. Sow terror, reap terror. It’s a rather simple equation.

As for removing this ban…..time will tell.

  • glass

Shocking that moose-lims were deleted from his website! Shocking I tell you!

I want to know when that wall will be built? It will take years to do it, so he better get that started on day 1 right? We need to keep on his ass about that damn wall. And he better make good on his promise to have Mexico pay for it. No back peddling trumpie!

Although I would not be surprised if Mexico started building a wall to keep us out of their country now that they know how many stupid people voted for the chumpanzee!

  • Orly

Huh, what a surprise. Reality strikes again.

  • andrew

This is only the first of the many hateful things that he promised to do, that he won’t or can’t do that will outrage the bigots who voted for him. By the end of the first two years of his presidency, the bigots who thought they knew what they were getting will hate Trump even more than they hated Hillary. They got played by a demagogue who knew he couldn’t deliver on all the hate he was promising.
