Pat Robertson: Unreal Enthusiasm For Trump Proves That The Polls Are Rigged Against Him [VIDEO]

Brian Tashman reports at Right Wing Watch:

Last weekend, televangelist Pat Robertson hosted a rally for GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump at his Regent University, where he emphatically placed his bets on Trump winning the election. On his “The 700 Club” program today, Robertson explained that the polls showing Trump trailing Hillary Clinton have been “skewed.”

“These polls have been skewed,” he said, echoing the conspiracy theory that’s been promoted by Trump himself. Robertson, who apparently has his finger on the pulse of black, young and union voters, said that the three groups are either hostile to or apathetic about Clinton, giving Trump an advantage. “The enthusiasm for the Trump people seems to be overwhelming,” he added. “Everywhere you go, it’s just unreal.”

You may recall that White Jesus personally told Robertson that Romney would win in 2012 and win reelection this year.

    New Quinnipiac polls:

    Clinton+4 in NC

    Trump+1 in GA

    Clinton+12 in VA

    Tie in Iowa

    • Bruno

So it’s time to put away all the national polls, no matter what they say. Forget the LA Times’ tRump lead as well as Clinton’s +12 or +11 or whatever. Focus on state polls. VA hasn’t had a tRump lead in a real poll since I think late July, and even that was considered an outlier. There hasn’t been a tRump lead in a NC poll since the 1st debate. Those alone tell us this race is out of reach for him at this moment. It would take something huge and unprecedented to change the shape of this race.

      • bobbleobble

The national polls feel like they’re tightening up a bit but those Quinnipiac polls are certainly pretty good.

        • Bruno

The national polls, imo, understate their margins of error. It’s just very difficult to poll a nation, to try and figure out what %’s of what demographics are going to show up where, and get everything right. It’s unsteady. As far as tightening, I think we’re seeing some of these newer polls like the ABC/WaPo tracking and the IBD/TIPP tracking start to self-adjust as they realize their initial results may have been off. I was initially excited about the ABC poll the other day because I thought it was the same as the regular ABC/WaPo polling they’d been doing and showed an 8 point jump. But it really turned out to be a bad initial tracking poll, and they seem to have adjusted it down. I don’t think anyone can seriously believe Hillary has lost 6 points nationally in just 2 days. So I think I’m going to just go into ignore mode on those national polls and focus on the states.

          • bobbleobble

It’s certainly true that IBD has started to rise up, she’s now showing a lead in their daily tracking, as she is with Rasmussen.

          • Bruno

Still, looking at IBD’s editorials, it’s clear there’s not a lot of love there for Hillary Clinton. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a latent agenda in their polling.

          • Dagoril

It’s not so much that they hate Hillary and deliberately futz with their polling, it’s more the very methodology that they use when they ask the questions themselves. For example, asking about third parties will give Gary Johnson higher polling when they mention him by name in the first question, but lower polling if the first question just mentions Hillary, Trump or Other, and then follow up with a second question to identify any others by name.

          • Bruno

            Good observations.

          • Gustav2

In all the polls Trump has less white folk than Romney did. He can’t win.

    • kaydenpat

That tie in Iowa is very uplifting. I was sad to see that Iowa was going for someone like Trump after voting for Obama twice.

      • Sam_Handwich

all three of 538’s models currently have Clinton with a very slight upper hand in IA

        • PickyPecker

They’re gonna come back to hanging with their blue friends out here in the upper midwest: MN, WI, IL

        • kaydenpat

          Yay!!

        • bobbleobble

I’m not sure I understand 538’s models even a little bit! Hillary just got four good polls out of Quinnipiac and a Pew poll showing her up 6 nationally and yet she dropped on Polls Plus by nearly a whole percentage point to 80.8%. That seems counter intuitive to me!

          • ShawnSwagger

Yeah, he weights polls strangely. For example, a Times-Picayune poll that came out today had Hillary +4, but 538 knocked her odds down slightly, apparently just because the previous Times-Picayune poll was +8. That’s the only reason I could figure. My guess is that the average of the two T-P polls is correct and she is stable at +6, which is more or less what a lot of the other polls are showing. The thing is it was released at the same time as a Kaiser Family Foundation poll with a large sample that had Hillary at +12 nationwide, but for some reason Nate took that whole pile of polls and decided to drop her probability 0.4%.

Same thing with these Quinnipiac polls just now. They have Clinton tied in Georgia and Iowa, which I would think would be good to very good news, plus 4 points ahead in NC and 12 points ahead in VA. And yet Nate dropped her probability 1.2% because of those. I don’t get his inscrutable math, and sometimes it does seem like he’s just trying to generate drama for clicks.

      • Bruno

Iowa was the perfect state for tRump to try and flip. It has one of the highest %’s of non college educated white voters in the country. But on the flipside, his %’s with those voters in Iowa is running behind his %’s with those voters nationally. He may be a bit too impolite for a lot of Iowans. I think she’ll pull out a narrow victory there.

        • Cuberly

“He may be a bit too impolite for a lot of Iowans.”

Have a feeling my very conservative Lutheran relatives in IA are sitting this one out, or even clandestinely voting for Hillz. BTW-these are people that don’t even say “damn”.

          • Bruno

I saw an interview with a white Iowan couple where the wife was very adamantly anti-tRump and probably going to vote for Hillary, while the husband was wringing his hands admitting that tRump was bad but couldn’t quite get himself to commit to Hillary. I think we’ll see a lot of that along the gender divide in Iowa.

          • TampaDink

I hope that someone is using this footage in advertising in Iowa.

When Hillary takes Iowa the answer will be, “Apparently not stupid enough.”

          • TampaDink

I just hope that don the con remembers to call them out on national t.v. when the election returns indicate that he has clearly lost the race.

          • Cuberly

Call it a hunch but I think a fair number of people have difficulty committing to Hillz out in the open.

Have a feeling the privacy of the voting booth or mail-in ballot will show their true leanings. In other words they won’t vote for Trump.

          • Bruno

You could really see it with this guy…he just couldn’t commit to her. But on the other hand, he may have been embarrassed to admit any positive feeling towards tRump, esp. in front of his wife who would’ve been appalled. It could go either way I think.

          • Neely OHara

Encouraging hunch, but I fear the opposite holds true even more strongly — a bunch of folks who don’t wanna get called on their incipeint bigotry, but will be perfectly comfortable pulling the lever for Trump in private…

          • Cuberly

Yeah, I guess it could go either way.

          • They don’t even say “damn”??? Well, fuck me running!

          • Cuberly

  • JohnnyC

His own campaign staff admits it’s a lie when he claims the polls are skewed. Their own polling shows the same results! From Bloomberg story on Trump voter suppression efforts:

“Several things jump out. Despite Trump’s claim that he doesn’t believe the polls, his San Antonio research team spends $100,000 a week on surveys (apart from polls commissioned out of Trump Tower) and has sophisticated models that run daily simulations of the election. The results mirror those of the more reliable public forecasters—in other words, Trump’s staff knows he’s losing. Badly. “Nate Silver’s results have been similar to ours,” says Parscale, referring to the polling analyst and his predictions at FiveThirtyEight, “except they lag by a week or two because he’s relying on public polls.” “

    • kaydenpat

      “Trump’s staff knows he’s losing”

But they keep lying to their gullible, airheaded supporters. Sad!

      • AnotherJosh

          • james1200

Oh, Martha. Sweet, sweet Martha. She better not be allowed to run for state office again after losing two easy ones in four years.

          • madknits

Thankfully, she’s retired now. My partner and I are in discussion about moving to NE in a few years. I’m trying to convince him that the Five Colleges area is a great place to live.

          • james1200

For a job or because of the cost of living? I mean, Nebraska? I can’t even…

          • madknits

NE=New England. Five Colleges Area = Northampton.

          • james1200

            lol. I thought u were already here. my bad. I’m a townie…i don’t leave the cambridge-somerville area.

          • madknits

Lived in Somerville for 20 years (I’m a fuckin’ Barney).
Lived in Brighton the last four.
            Moved to NOLA for love.
Now I want my love to fall in love with MA.

          • james1200

You’ll find that most of somerville is essentially cambridge now, unaffordable and pretentious as fuck, tho east somerville is still run down and still has the townies and drugs, so it’s still awesome. Someone coming up from the south might have a rough time, at least for a while, starting with the weather and going right down to the attitude and way of life up here.

          • madknits

I lived in the Davis and Teele Squares area, mostly. I remember when rent control was demolished and all the Cantabrigians moved to Somerville, and we saw our rents go up Up UP. He thinks it’s cold down here when it gets to the 40s (I’m wearing a sweatshirt, unzipped, and he’s bundled in a winter coat and hat and scarf). Not sure how he’ll handle our winters. But I am determined not to live here for the rest of my life. There’re no ice cream parlours! I need me some JP LIcks!

          • james1200

I’m fine with my cookies n cream ice cream from Shaw’s, lol. But how can there be no ice cream parlors? It’s hot down there!

What I can’t do without is Indian food, especially Desi Dhaba, whose menu I’ve been addicted to since college. Friends and I got into the habit of doing their lunch buffet for ten bucks and Indian food became my kryptonite. I can’t do without and I’ll bet they’ve never even heard of Indian cuisine in NOLA!!

          • madknits

My kryptonite is Chinese food. We have an excellent Thai restaurant not far from my house, but the Chinese food here is less than meh. I’ve never been a big fan of Indian, because I find it too heavy, though there is a large Indian population here (witness our former governor, Piyush “Bobby” Jindal.

They have something they call “snowballs” here, shaved ice with a sweet syrup (various flavours) to drench it. It’s actually quite good, but everything closes in the winter. Can’t find these things after the summer is over. Very frustrating.

          • james1200

Chinese is my other kryptonite, lol. Hope you make it back soon…I live near Porter Sq. and I swear every dude I run into while out and about is gay now. I think we can take over this town completely in a decade.

          • madknits

One of my favourite yarn stores is in Porter Square.

      Only 57%? Come on, Massachusetts!

      • Reality.Bites

Remember, that doesn’t include the undecided etc. It only adds up to 89%.

When those are factored out, since in the end only those that decide and vote will count, It’s 64 to 28. And that 7% for the weirdos, well last time Gary got 1% and Stein got 0.65%

So it could end up 69 – 29 with 2% for crazies.

Last time it was 60.65% to 37.51%. And against McCain it was 61.80 to 35.99.

Gore didn’t quite get to 60 – 59.8% but Nader was strong.

I don’t foresee any scenario in which Clinton goes under 60% in Massachusetts. I expect her to do better than Obama, if only by a percent or two.

        • Bruno

She should be getting at least 70% in a state like Mass. But I guess they’re under Jill Stein’s irresistible spell of purity and sanity.

      • PickyPecker

Black Jesus is still cool, tho, right?

        • bzrd

Mr. PickyPecker, a little selfishness on my part, I’m heading out of town for two weeks, could you ask Joe if you could do a thread with all your TACO TUESDAY countdown on election day, if you don’t mind. It would be grand to see them all together, and I hate to miss a one. Thanks

          • PickyPecker

You won’t be connected at all?!?!?!

          • bzrd

            rarely
will be walking around all day and tired at night, but
election night it will be 6 a.m and I’ll be glued if the internet works

          • Actually, I’ve been thinking maybe you could ask Mr. Joe to have you be a special guest contributor each day of this shitstorm of an election for your Taco Tuesday graphics.

        • Megrim Twist

          Jesus is the new black.

      • William

        Klingon Jesus rules.

    • Gianni

Would be really fun to have him take a question asking why, if the Romney prediction of a 2012 win/2016 reelection came from Jesus, it didn’t come true? Did God lie to you?

      • Neely OHara

Why do they never get asked?

        • Gianni

I’m guessing that all inquiries to Pat or the program are dutifully screened to prevent such gotcha questions.

  • Mark

Awww.. fuck off and die you demented crazy bastard. You’re a fake as your fucking fake gawd.

  • Merv99

OT: This is sad. Southern Poverty Law Center has officially jumped the shark, putting Maajid Nawaz, a prominent Muslim anti-extremist, on its list of anti-Muslim extremists. Even if you read SPLC’s entry on him, it’s clear that they have no basis to call Nawaz, who is a Muslim himself, an anti-Muslim extremist. Incidentally, Nawaz is outspoken against anti-gay bigotry.

    Some of their complaints:
    * He once got a lap dance.
    * He committed blasphemy by tweeting the inoffensive cartoon below in support of free speech.

  • William

Pat needs to visit Switzerland. Dignitas is lovely this time of year.

  • Bill T.

Jesus told Pat he would win the 1988 presidential campaign. Jesus treats Pat the same way Lucy treats Charlie Brown.

    • GayOldLady

Jesus just can’t keep his word.

      • Bill T.

Jesus knows a bullshit artist when he sees one.

  • GayOldLady

This is the same man that predicted a meteor would hit Florida and destroy the earth because Disney displayed rainbow flags.

  • Joe knows who I am.

    Hey Pat,

I think your “heavenly father” is calling you home in time for dinner.

    • RJ Bone

He’d better hurry or he’ll miss the early bird and Lucy.

  • Barry William Teske

That sure is not a face of enthusiasm.
Desparation more likely, because faux-preachers know their time is almost up, and going to hell is written on their walls.

  • LovesIrony

“…it’s unreal” yes pat it is

  • Barry S G

“The enthusiasm for the Trump people seems to be overwhelming,” he added. “Everywhere you go, it’s just unreal.” Yes, unreal, as in imaginery, not real or actual.
I actually think that Robertson said something truthful even if he didn’t mean to.

  • greenmanTN

“I need a reality check, so I’m gonna ask Pat Robertson,” said no one, ever.

    • cleos_mom

Although the gullible apparently send him checks with some regularity.

  • Luther Kreiger

Yes, because the screeching of the stupidest mouth-breathing shitstains of the country whipped into frothing madness by one of the demagoguiest demagogues we’ve seen in this country in decades should be what elects a president, not the electoral system.

  • safari

“Everywhere you go, it’s just unreal.”

Unreal: Pat, I don’t think you know what that word means.

    • EweTaw

He’s having a permanent Acid flashback.

  • boatboy_srq

Robertson is more proof that the Reichwing can’t count, equates “many” with “majority” and/or “everyone”, and completely fails to grasp the scale of a US federal election (or even of the US electorate). It’s no wonder they want to devolve policy to the states: state populations (and state electorates) are much easier comprehend.

  • JaniceInToronto

    I blame Jesus.

  • ultragreen

To quote the Bible, “Beware of false prophets.”

    • CatCope

FINALLY a quote from the bible I can believe in.!!!

  • McSwagg

“The enthusiasm for the Trump people seems to be overwhelming,” he added. “Everywhere you go, it’s just unreal.”

    So … echo chamber?

    • Porkie

Like the man says it’s not real.

  • D. J.

    Damn, makeup by Morticia(n).

    • Gianni

😀 That’s killing two birds with one stone! 🙂

      • D. J.

Falwell must have looked pretty bad when he died in his office. Must be trying to prevent that embarrassment for Pat….

  • Larry Gist

How is the view from inside that bubble Pat?

  • Gianni

Enthusiasm for Trump is “unreal” only if you go to his rallies! It’s a gathering of the loyal nutjobs, like a conflagration of lunacy!

  • CatCope

“Everywhere you go, it’s just UNREAL”! Exactly!!!!
I think patty has his ‘crystal ball’ upside down.
pat, here that sound, it’s your shepherd calling. “Time to come & help with my flock, Up Here, & leave people ALONE!!!!!!”

    • Jamie_Johnson

“Up here”? Only if Pat’s world is indeed upside down.

  • Gianni

Do Pat and company ever wonder why his God-given predictions never come true? “Dear God, why do You mislead me and try to make me look foolish to my followers? Don’t You know it won’t work? They have really short memories and thinking/wondering is just beyond them.”

  • Greg B.

Just like when Trump holds a rally in a state with a population of 20 million where the polls have him behind by 5% and 5,000 people show up, it proves the polls are rigged.

  • JT

Pat Robertson: Unreal Enthusiasm For Trump Proves That The Polls Are Rigged Against Him

How much tax does this repulsive christofascist pay?

    • dcurlee

      As much as Trump

  • dcurlee

When is he going to be worm food. So sick of hearing the fucking fool

  • marshlc

For instance, the enthusiasm for Trump among major newspapers – they’re all endorsing him.

    What’s that? Oh.

    Nevermind.

  • Dear Pat,

White Jesus is pulling your leg. One day soon he’ll pull your plug.

  • PLAINTOM

Vote for the unrepentant adulterer and then tell me abut your firmly held religious beliefs. You folks have just given us, the perfect evidence to beat you in court. Hell , we will simply subpoena you as a witness for our side.

  • FAEN

How is this bigoted POS still spewing venom while Bowie has passed on.

You need to explain that Universe.

    • CatCope

FAEN, I say this EVERDAY since, Lennon, Harrison, Gibb Bros., Prince & MJ passed & these POS open their pieholes!!!

  • Marides48

I listen to him for a minute & I’ve come to the conclusion that he doesn’t know much about this election.

  • Blackfork

Okay, when you see yourself on the teevee and you can see your skull’s eye sockets — uh, it’s past time to go home.

  • JCF

Lord, far be it from me to tell you how to do your job. But w/ all you’ve called home in 2016—those we’ll actually MISS down here?—isn’t it really time…???

  • ChrisInKansas

Any reason why the URL for this post is:

    http://www.joemygod.com/2016/10/27/pat-robertson-eats-worms/

    (Pat Robertson eats worms)

Is Pat kickin’ the bucket very very soon? Does Joe know something we don’t know?

    I’m not complaining; it’s hilarious!

  • Orly

Ok, now I feel better about Hillary’s prospects.

Whenever this moron predicts something, it’s almost always the opposite of reality.

  • 2patricius2

Walter Mondale had big, enthusiastic rallies before he lost big to Ronald Reagan in 1984. I was at one of those rallies.

  • olandp

    Q: Is he still alive?

    A: No.

  • Librarykid

“he emphatically placed his bets on Trump”

I hope the dirt bag placed all of his assets on Trump and is totally wiped out. Money is his life blood so he will cease to exist.

  • TheManicMechanic

    Not dead yet!

  • bmedle

Jesus, hasn’t the 700 Club been on for, like, 701 years already? Oh, and the world was supposed to have ended at least 70 times during those 701 years.

Of course, if you vote Dump, that end of times prophecy may come true. Finally.

  • Robert Adams

If you believe in talking snakes and Noah’s ark, you’ll believe about anything.

  • Emma Duncan

I think we all remembered how the polls were skewed for Obama, because everybody, everybody was voting for Romney, and yet they refuse to leave the shelter of their fact free bubble, they are going to be shocked! shocked, I tell you!

  • JamesStone

What a horrible human being.!…”Snake oil Salesmen” have been around for hundreds of years…This guy is like the devil using Christianity as his cover…. And his followers still send him money even though he is a multimillionaaire…!!!! Bizzaroland111
