Fox Anchor Lou Dobbs: Trump Saying He Won’t Accept Election Results Was A “Stroke Of Genius” [VIDEO]

Via Mediaite:

Lou Dobbs, one of Donald Trump‘s biggest supporters on Fox News, argued tonight that Trump’s refusal to say he whether would accept the election results at the debate was a “stroke of genius.”

No, seriously. He told Bill O’Reilly it was “one of the brightest things he could have done” because it got the media talking about ways the election could be rigged.

O’Reilly told Dobbs Trump almost won the debate until that remark ruined the whole night for him. Dobbs said that “there’s an insistence on an accounting” now because of Trump’s remarks.

  • tcinsf

Lou Dobbs is nothing more than a stain on our national fabric.

(So young, so bad, so what? )

    • Curieux Bleu

Exactly! Fux you Lou, Fux you very very much, cuz you’re a hater and a taker and a grasping evil little invisible elephant in the room. And when the bloviating elephant farts, a thick smelly tornado roars through Kansas, killing good Xianist white superprivileged male homophobic supremacists to the cackling clueless dismay of Sam Brownback.

If you don’t get the poetry here Lou, … don’t worry … we can’t fix STUPID– cuz you are a typical fucked up poster boy for all the things that are wrong with ‘Murica. Plus you sold your soul to Satan long long ago.

So just FUX the SHUT up.

I’ve flushed things that look better than that.

A stroke might have been involved, but it wasn’t “of genius.”

    • Phil

A mild stroke would explain a lot of his bizarre behavior.

      • Todd20036

        So would a long stroke

        • Reality.Bites

Neither would explain the enabling by so many people.

        • Robincho

We’re down to the short strokes now, baby!…

    • Mark Neé Fuzz

You beat me to it. Dobb must have had a stroke in order for that logic to work in his damaged mind.

    • GayOldLady

Great minds and all that. Note to self: read the thread before I comment.

    • RNegron

Lou is showing signs of having strokes, many strokes, flap… flap… flap…

    • Smartypants

You’re all nasty haters. It was a BIGLY stroke. The bigliest!

  • crewman

If a presidential candidate keeps saying the system is rigged, when no credible people think it is, nevertheless people will go through the paces to “take the issue seriously” to put the conspiracy claims to rest. That’s not a stroke of genius. It’s the pattern of a man unfit for the office he’s running for, stoking ridiculous, self-servicing conspiracy theories no matter how much they damage our country.

    • DaddyRay

At this point if Trump wins then the system is indeed rigged

    • According to Trump, the election is rigged against him if he is not allow to rig the election.

In a Loyola study examining voting between 2000 and 2014 the results were that out of One Billion votes case there were 31 credible allegations of voting fraud.

      • And many of those were Republicans trying to screw with Democratic primaries.

It is amazing how they were able to hide Hillary’s face inside the helmet.

  • Blake Jordan

How do these people define wining (a debate)!?!?!?

To sane people, drumpf lost both the second and third debates before they started!!!

    • perversatile

”How do these people define wining (a debate)!?!?!?”
The same way they believe the Moon Landing was faked.

  • Skeptical_Inquirer

Why is it that Republicans never bother to think that maybe people tired of them won’t start saying “Gee, maybe the GOP have rigged all those godawful governors and House of Reps?” If they keep insisting voting is rigged then it undermines EVEN their own people getting in. They are undermining the system that gives THEM power.

Idiots. I think every damn fool GOPer who backs Trump on this should have his or her position questioned. “How do we know YOU got in legitimately?”

    • Acronym Jim

Especially when the GOP establishment has been proven to engage in voter suppression by limiting early voting, cutting registration deadlines, and closing polling places in heavily Democratic districts.

      • Skeptical_Inquirer

They are benefiting more than they deserve and then they call attention to it. The chutzpah is off the charts.

      • Vista-Cruiser

Republican election officials also like to purge minorities from the voting rolls, often just before an election.

So minorities who want to vote find themselves waiting in long lines, only to find out once they’re at the front of the line that they somehow magically disappeared from the list.

    • Nothing New Here

The GOP has in fact rigged the elections by gerrymandering the electoral districts, and by degrading voting rights laws. This has been a 30-40 year process, and continues today with GOP operatives like Supreme Court Justice John Roberts and his colleague in crime Samuel Alito (and previously Antonin Scalia, may his putrifying flesh infect a million of his bigoted followers) opining that the Civil Rights and Voting Rights protections of the 60s are no longer necessary.

      • Ninja0980

Yup, and we saw that during the primaries in places like AZ and now in GA, NC and WI among other places.

      • Skeptical_Inquirer

I can only hope that the same disgust with hypocrisy and projection that has made people leave religion in this country will fuel people leaving the GOP.

        • Chucktech

          Not if they’re deplorable.

      • Hank

Once the “shackles” of the Voting Rights Act were removed, the same states who they covered, IMMEDIATELY went on to PROVE why they should have been kept in place!!!…. and OTHER Rethuglican led States, jumped ion board!!!

  • Acronym Jim

Trump’s ridiculous and ominous declaration didn’t get the media “talking about ways the election could be rigged;” it got the media talking about how ridiculous and ominous Trump’s statement actually was.

    • Mark Neé Fuzz

And how ridiculous and ominous Trump is in general

      • saucetin

Odious & ominous / goofus (trump) and gallant (Obama)

  • DaveMiller135

“Dobbs said that ‘there’s an insistence on an accounting’ now because of Trump’s remarks.”

There was already an insistence on an accounting. This is an attempt to throw doubt into the works of that accounting. It’s the work of a scoundrel, and someone who doesn’t care about the United States, and someone who’s pretty sure he’s going to lose.

    • McSwagg

‘Accounting’, you say … someone needs to release his tax returns before we go any further.

      /s

  • Herald

When you make O’Reilly sound slightly sane you have really lost it.

Add Lou Dobbs to Keith Olbermann’s list.

  • Patrick

Because we live and conduct our life’s in a sane world, does not make Trump a genius, In a normal sane world self checking and review of a process is normal, in Trump’s it is nonexistent. The fact the he stumbled/trampled over one of those processes and then we reviewed it is far from genius, I’d call it desperately looking for an exit but that would insult George Bush.

  • delk

The election is rigged by influential idiots giving credence to it.

  • Reality.Bites

Lou, precisely how many current and former elected Democrats have found it necessary to denounce Clinton and/or say they won’t vote for her?

And the same involving Republicans and Trump?

    • Todd20036

      Nice comparison!

    • How many tv news personalities have doxxed a sexual assault victim and kept their job?

    • Chucktech

And how many newspapers of note, many of which are admittedly in the tank for Republicans, have endorsed Hillary?

  • JellyDonut

I guess rigged means that people discovered Trump was a huge asshole that has no business in the White House,

    • TexasBoy

Therefore, DOBBS = TRUMP = IDIOT

      • Treant

        I love the transitive property.

I believe it’s the intransigence property that’s being used here.

But we can’t trust them with the simple task of counting votes? Seriously?

  • Skeptical_Inquirer

I’m really tired of this projection by Trumpeteers and i’m tired of people trying to push us into patiently wooing them with reason and kindness that frankly many of the Trumpeteers have not earned and will never reward.

What needs to be said is that Trumpeteers en masse are trying to gaslight America. They are making the light flicker yet lie and blame people for saying that the light is flickering. THAT act deserves neither patience nor respect.

    https://youtu.be/UVtrTqH5G88

    • TuuxKabin

      Gaslight?

      • Skeptical_Inquirer

It’s the name of the movie. A man is trying to drive his wife crazy by taking things and blaming her for losing them, making the lights (powered by gas) flicker then acting as if the lights were stable when she talks to him about it, etc.

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaslight_(1944_film)

For me, it’s like how they keep insisting that they’re not doing anything to mess with America’s mind but they totally are.

        • TuuxKabin

Midnight Lace with Doris Day, Rex Harrison and Myrna Loy has a similar theme. Doris Day surprised me with her dramatic performances. The Man Who Knew Too Much, Julie, Love Me Or Leave Me. But I’ve always been a fan of hers. Ingrid Bergman, such a beauty and good actress as well. Thanks for the Saturday morning distraction.

          • Skeptical_Inquirer

Often I find good comedians also do well with drama. I suspect it’s because they often have a sense of good timing. Robin Williams is a surprisingly good villain in Insomnia.

          • TuuxKabin

Good point. I don’t know Insomnia, but will check it out. And Doris Day had a good sense of timing in her singing. Thanks!

  • Treant

Is he crazy or stupid? At this point, the last remaining Trump supporter my mother knows is no longer discussing the subject and won’t speak Trump’s name.

That’s not a good sign. I took him from the “Trump voter” basket of deplorables to “Possible Undervote or No Vote on Election Day” basket of semi-deplorables.

    • Reality.Bites

As long as we can all agree he’s a definite basket case!

      • Treant

Most definitely. This is the guy who imposed on me for a free chemistry reading and then did absolutely nothing that I suggested.

        • Reality.Bites

          A chemistry reading?

          • Treant

            Soil chemistry.

          • Reality.Bites

I take it then that following your recommendations would have involved some combination of time, effort and expense on his part?

          • Treant

Some time, some effort, and a little expense. Really, rebalancing 10,000 square feet or so isn’t that costly.

OK, so I have mine tuned like the London Symphony Orchestra. But that’s not necessary.

So yes, I’m fully aware of why he didn’t do it; it would involve getting off his ass.

Remember in the 2008 election how it became a huge joke that no matter what happened the media would say “this is good for John McCain”? (Like Sarah Palin could say the most idiotic and offensive thing possible and inevitably some media bozo would insist that it would help McCain)? Yeah, Dobbs is trying that with Trump.

Lou Dobbs is like a bad painting of a sad clown that you’d find at a garage sale: kind of funny, but sad, but not really sad, but not even really all that funny, either, and offering nothing anyone but the tackiest loser wants to buy.

    • kareemachan

And after a couple minutes, you get creeped out by the painting’s eyes following you around…

  • Texndoc

O’Reilly is of the mindset that because Trump “gets all the attention and she, she is gone” because he’s based his entire TV career on that. But it’s not how Presidents are elected. Trump could take a dump on Park Avenue in a tutu with his hair on fire and it would dominate the press BUT he wouldn’t win the Presidency, ehh, BillOh?

  • Republicans always think elections are rigged when they don’t win. I remember the 90s when none of my Republican relatives could believe Clinton had won. “We don’t know anyone who voted for Clinton except you.” I knew that was true but their neighbors knew to keep their mouths shut.

    • Platos_Redhaired_Stepchild

Ditto: Obama. I got the feeling the Republicans phoned it in because “of course Americans would never elect black man as president. Especially one with a “muslim” name. That’s just absurd! ” And then we re-elected Obama and they were flabbergasted again!

  • Hank

He is pathetic… and desperate!!! Listening to a Drumpf Surrogate on MSNBC, who is tap dancing his way as to why Drumpf’s statement that there are reasons for why the elections may be “rigged”!!! May Drumpf be forced into Bankruptcy AGAIN!!!

Are they gonna keep their promise to have a poll watcher at EVERY election spot? There are places with low populations in somewhat remote areas of the state. There’s gonna be a watchdog there? I will say this: there are places where a watchdog would not want to be because he/she would get their arse kicked if the people there suspect anything. Just saying. It’s not as black and white as the Republicans are making it out to be.

    • kareemachan

A lot of states are now vote-by-mail, so are they gonna watch the post offices? Mailboxes? Follow mailtrucks around?

  • Mike__in_Houston

If Trump ever did anything that was remotely approaching “genius,” it would be by sheer coincidence and accident.

  • William

Why hasn’t this asshole been fired yet?

  • Tom000

Statistically, can the media be “80%” liberal? I mean if you add any percentile larger than 50% to the medium you’d be over 100%. By using that math (Fox News math) 20% of the media actually means at least half of the media. Yes, I know it doesn’t make any sense…….only in Trump’s world.

    • Ore Carmi

      I’m missing that–explain?

Edit: Oh, never mind! I get what you’re saying.

  • 2patricius2

Another stroke of genius? Like the stroke of genius of using the tax laws to avoid federal taxes?

    • Ore Carmi

Yeah–the genius of signing a tax return prepared by a professional tax preparer. Genius. The genius of refusing to accept defeat. SMH!

      • Chucktech

Or the sheer genius of losing a billion dollars. Jesus, why didn’t I think of that?!

        • BobSF_94117

HE didn’t lose any money. Other people did. He just got the “tax loss”.

      • BobSF_94117

From what I’ve read, Trump actually did seem quite involved in creating the tax loophole he then exploited. Whether he was just following instructions or not, I don’t know. But it was a brilliant manipulation of the Congress.

        • Ore Carmi

Really? How? He wasn’t a lawmaker.

          • BobSF_94117

There was a move by real estate developers to create tax law more favorable to their business. Trump testified before Congress, and they passed the law, complete with “feature” he used to declare a loss and avoid taxes for two decades. The story was on here somewhere… or maybe in a link on a comment.

          • Ore Carmi

            Ah, thanks! I appreciate it!

Sounds like Lou had his own kind of stroke.
