Hate Group Leader Tony Perkins Warns Fox Viewers: Hillary Is A Threat To Biblical Christianity [VIDEO]

Hate group leader Tony Perkins, who recently fled his Louisiana home in a leaky canoe after White Jesus smited his hood with a righteous flood, appeared on Fox News this afternoon to warn conservatives that they had better vote for Donald Trump because Hillary Clinton is a “threat to biblical Christianity.” Watch below.

  • Michael Smith

I fail to see how this is a bad thing.

  • Michael R
    • JCF

Would like to see it PLUG the talking hole.

  • bryan
  • Carl

A vote for Hillary is a vote against Tony’s theocracy. Sure, I’ll agree with that.

A vote against Tony’s cash flow. If he can’t be trusted to deliver the Sheeple vote the FRC donations will take a yuge hit.

  • Let’s see: Jesus said, as related by the Gospel of Matthew (25:31-46) that we should shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, care for the sick and destitute.

Now, between Hillary Clinton and Tony Perkins, based on their public histories, which is the better Christian? (Hint: Clinton Foundation funds efforts to eradicate poverty and hunger, fight AIDS, and help women worldwide; Family Research Council is a recognized hate group dedicated to stripping rights from American citizens based on their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.)

    • lymis

Between Tony Perkins and an ailing ficus, which is the better Christian?

      • AtticusP

        Ficus! No question!

      • Bruno
        • Bomer

We used to have a ficus tree when I was younger than we named Monroe. We used to decorate it up for Christmas.

          • Daveed_WOW

I’ll bet that tree was gay!

            (too soon?)

          • Bomer

If it wasn’t before it was after we got through with it ^_^. It looked real cute all done up for the holidays.

      • Librarykid

Between Tony Perkins and a slime mold, which is the better life form?

*reality* is a threat to biblical christianity

    • Nowhereman

If more christians would actually read their buybull there would be a lot fewer christians.

      • MBear

I doubt christians can actually read.

      • JCF

The real problem isn’t the Bible. The problem is the Fundy interpretations thereof (usually imposed BEFORE the text is ever read, by Fundy preachers or tracts). Any text is just words on a page—good or bad. It’s bigoted meanings attached to the text which turns into…

        • DesertSun59

Oh. The problem is most def the Bible. It was invented by Bronze Age Jews, then reinvented and embellished several times by Roman Age councils for the express purpose of controlling the masses.

      facts,science,common sense.

      • MBear

if common sense were common, people like Dickface wouldn’t be on a ‘news’ program. Hell, ‘news entertainment’ wouldn’t exist. 😉

        • PLAINTOM

    • Librarykid

Would that it were a fatal threat.

      • MBear

fatal to christianity? It is, my good sir…it is.
Alas, reality is a medicine quite under prescribed.

  • Good. Seeing as Biblical Christianity includes awful shit that needs to be thrown out in a progressive and civil society.

  • Brianna Amoré

Huh. And yet we have clear evidence that Hillary has gone to church her entire life and is a practicing Methodist.

But Trump? He’s just a Two Corinthians kinda guy.

  • Stubenville

So vote for a thrice married adulterer. You have lost the right to criticize anyone else’s morals.

  • Ragnar Lothbrok

The first freedom, the freedom to freely deny fags a place to live. a job to hold or a cake to eat.
That’s not freedom, jesus boy, that is discrimination. We hear your codes.

  • geoffalnutt

“Biblical” Christianity? Old or New Testament? You need a large pill and a long nap.

  • MBear

“the church is an obstacle to their agenda”

Yeah…the church is an obstacle to progress. Yup. Uhhuh. Totes right there, Sparky.

  • Bruno

Something to look forward to: Teabangelicals turning against tRump faster than the speed of light on November 9th.

    • Cuberly

Eh, not so sure about that. If I consulted the tea leaves (my opinion) there’s going to be a bit of a rift btwn those evangelicals that wanted no part of Trump and those that clung to him for their own power and agenda.

      • Bruno

I’m sure none of them will be happy with the big loser though. Especially after selling their souls.

  • PickyPecker

Now….to which version of ‘biblical christianity’ might tony be referring?

    • Cuberly

      A Cowvanist?

      • jmax

At least it’s not a Moooslim.

      • JCF

        Udderly not a Papal Bull.

        • Cuberly

          A Moothedist? Calftist? Mooman Cowthlic?

    • safari

      Communion would certainly be different.

      • jmax

        Beef jerky and 2%.

        • safari

          And cheese.

          • jmax

            Mmmmm. Sounds gouda to me.

    • Ragnar Lothbrok

      I’m so moooved.

    • Clive Johnson

To prevent cattle mutilation you must accept Jesus as your Lord and milker. As is evident from the picture, the UFO tractor beam has no effect on this one who has wisely given its life to Christ.

    • Ben in Oakland

      udderly ridiculous.

    • Canadian Observer

Just think, if they gild it the Prosperity Gospel types can worship it!!

  • AtticusP

Yet this fool is supporting a serial sex offender in his bid for the Presidency of the United States.

If hypocrisy were money, Tony PerKKKins would be worth 20 times more than Donald Trump.

  • Richard Rush

“Hillary Clinton is a “threat to biblical Christianity.””

Hillary should thank Perkins for acknowledging that she indulges in rational thinking.

    • thatotherjean

She’s not nearly the threat to the stuff that Jesus told his followers to do–all those “love your neighbor, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, care for widows and orphans” things–that Tony himself is. The nasty, judgemental bits, like stoning women taken in adultery, hating gay people, and refusing to allow women to speak in church–maybe she’s a threat to those. More power to her.

  • Tom (Wpg)

A lot of these biblical freaks are schizos. His idea, while untrue, would not be a terrible idea.

  • Ugh, people believe this rubbish. Don’t forget that Trump is using very similar branding to other far right groups such as Britain First in the UK. Trump uses America First on a frequent basis. Trump also uses the Britain First branding “taking our country back”. All these are key words and call to arms for bigots across the country. Britain First people actually walk through diverse neighbourhoods harassing non-white people, its disgusting, and I feel Tony Whats-his-face is in that league of vulgar a-holes.

  • SunsetGay

Gives entire new meaning to the term “douchecanoe”

  • bkmn
    • marshlc

OK, it’s picky of me, I know, but I have a problem with this type of wording.

Half the electorate are women, in fact women tend to vote more reliably than men. So this should be “Donald Trump feels he has the right to walk up to you and grab you by your pussy”. Male is not the default, and the people Trump is assaulting are not your wives, etc, but you – you the citizen, you the voter.

And again, yes, I know it’s picky.

      • Bj Lincoln

Thank you. Because women make up more than half the population, it should read as you and your. It is a pain that the message is almost always directed to men and they talk about their women as if they are property or weak and need a mans’ protection. This is why I loved the First Lady’s speech. It was directed to the women. We are the target of Trumps abuse and should protect ourselves and use our voice/power to make a difference. As long as the message is directed toward men, women will not take charge or even think they can because it has been like that for so long.

Lying your ass off as always. For Jeebus of course.

  • Cuberly

Gotta love the self-marketing. “Biblical Christianity” As in Perkkky holds the keys to all things Jebus.

Other denominations are mere differences in interpretation. But Tony’s is BIBLICAL!

    • McSwagg

“Biblical Christain” is code for “Evangelical Christain”. Catholic and Orthodox Christains are referred to as “Non-Biblical” because they do not follow the Protestant philosophy of solo scriptorium, or “scripture only” in their theology.

  • ShawnSwagger

This election cycle, self-professed “biblical christians” have proven beyond a doubt that they themselves are the major threat to “biblical christianity” (and WTF is non-biblical christianity anyways?)

But, please, don’t let us stop you. Keep supporting a pathological liar, narcissistic, phony, business cheat, tax cheat, casino mogul, softcore porn cameo star, serial-philander, serial-sexual-assaulter, violence-inciting, racist, sociopathic, thrice-married, rape-y pedophile who fantasizes about his own daughter’s tits, who defrauds and/or bankrupts everyone who does business with him and who can’t name a single verse in the Bible and keep telling yourselves that you’re christians.

    • Cuberly

      But…but…Solomon had 700 wives….eh…um…

      • Nowhereman

Right, but if we let gay people get married, then what’s to stop a bowling team from getting married! Or a goat!!!….

        • Librarykid

This bowling team; are they doing it three at a time with a bowling ball or something to make that marriage so outrageous?

          • popebuck1

I don’t object to a bowling team all marrying each other if that’s what they want. Anything that helps them score.

          • vorpal

Seems to me like in a bowling ball themed wedding, you do NOT want to strike and catch the bouquet. At least with a spare, you might spare some teeth,

          • cleos_mom

I’m still intrigued by honoring “natural marriage” via nude nuptuals.

          • Nowhereman

Well let’s just say that “don’t drop the ball!” takes on a whole new meaning!

        • vorpal

Or… =shudders, can barely bring myself to say it=
          A bowling team of goats!!!

          • Nowhereman

            On noes! The HORRORS!

      • Canadian Observer

That must explain why archeologists are not allowed to dig at Jerusalem’s “holy sites” – they might stumble across 700 dildos.

    • McSwagg

“Biblical Christains” is code language for Protestant and especially Evangelical Christains who follow the philosophy of Solo Scriptorium, or Scripture Only. This is in contrast to Catholic and Orthodox Christains who follow scripture and tradition. Evangelicals refer to Catholics and Orthodox as Non-Biblical Christains. You would hear this kind of talk all the time if you lived in the South.

      • Statistics Palin

The phrase is “solo scriptura.”. A scriptorium is a place for copying manuscripts, typically a medieval monastery. Other than that, your analysis is spot on.

        • McSwagg

I guess Google got the term wrong because I looked it up to be sure before I posted.

          • Statistics Palin

            Spelling correction is evil.

          • McSwagg

Yeah. I even read the Google link because it still didn’t sound quite right. I should know better at my age.

      • ShawnSwagger

      • Daveed_WOW

It’s code language all right. This is a long-standing issue with some conservative Protestants. They have no interest in religious freedom. Their goal is religious dominion. They are the one true belief system and all else is heresy. This is why the Pilgrims were thrown out of Holland. They had their own religious freedom, but they wanted to remove everyone else’s religious freedom.

Obviously, this movement helped inspire slavery and segregation. That is still their main goal. It’s not quite a dog whistle because we can all hear it just fine.

      • Cattleya1

That I understand, but Hillary is a lifelong Methodist. When did the number 2 protestant denomination in the US become n0n-biblical christians? I’ll bet there are more than a few of them who’d like a word with this self-righteous jackass.

        • McSwagg

I think the evangelists took a term that applied to all protestant denominations and high-jacked it to refer only to their extreme point of view.

Because she doesn’t subscribe to those Fundy interpretations (per stated above).

        • McSwagg

The extremists have high jacked the term and morphed its meaning to exclude those they don’t like. It’s a No True Scotsman fallacy.

      • MattPS

It’s time for more atheists and agnostics to come out of the closet and tell jerks like Tony Perkins that we don’t give a RAT’S ASS about his so-called Holy Book. That’s the only way to knock the wind from his sails.

        • Rt1583

This is being done much more effectively by the large numbers of people turning their back on Christianity.

      • JCF

It’s not really solo scriptura, it’s solo “a set of Fundamentalist interpretations from the late 19th/early 20th century”. There are plenty of solo scriptura Protestants who HAVE come around to an LGBT-affirming reading of Scripture.

        • McSwagg

I agree. I was just commenting on what the religious right meant by their use of the term Biblical Christian. The definition has certainly shifted and morphed over the centuries.

      • cleos_mom

Not all Protestants: the RR isn’t too hot on Episcopalians in particular. Too much attention paid to schools, among other offenses.

        • McSwagg

Growing up I always heard of the Episcopalians referred to as ‘Catholic Lite’ with half the guilt. Truthfully, though, they are one of the christian denominations that seem to be trying to actually follow their name sake. There are others, but they seem to me to be the exception rather than the rule.

      • Rt1583

At first I read Solo Scriptorium as Santorum Scriptorium.

      • NancyP

More specifically, “Biblical” Christians claim to have the one and only “literal” interpretation of the Bible – the interpretation that their pastor holds. None of them are Greek or Hebrew scholars. Mainline Protestant denominations where the pastor typically has some exposure to Greek and Hebrew and textual criticism methods generally accept that multiple interpretations are possible.

        • McSwagg

Why study Greek or Hebrew when the original King James bible was written in Shakespearean English?

Please! This is not the time to mince words. Tell us what you really think about trump.

    • Duane Dimitrov

What Trump has exposed about our “religious” right here in the US is that they are not religious at all.

They’re a bunch of (primarily white) Americans who hold a whole host of bigoted, misogynist, patriarchal views straight out of our not-distant-enough past.

Our culture has moved on from these primitive, inferior views, but they still hold them.

So what do they do? They wrap their indefensible views in religion to insulate them from the criticism, mockery, and derision they so richly deserve.

By talking about actual Christianity with these people you’re fight the wrong fight. It’s like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

This is a state with pretty much NO gun laws, too. They should reflect on that.

      • McSwagg

I like the ‘squirrel spray’ idea. I’d be tempted to add some ‘aroma therapy’ for good measure. Wish I had it when the JWs banged on my door this morning.

  • i love the smell of xtian fear. oooh, it’s so palpable this season! the gravy train of churchy bluehairs is dying, and the con artists who live off of that, they know it. no matter how incompetent they are, they can still balance a checkbook, or they wouldn’t be in the con biz. and that ‘book isn’t looking so good right now.

the maths that i keep saying: drumpf won’t even get the same number of voters RMoney had. it’s really that simple, b/c dead people mostly don’t vote. every four years there are fewer of them, the ones who vote first for jeebus and next against evil homos and then esp for rounding up the negres and hanging them. it’s just not trending, yo!

maybe more young people will learn why voting is a good thing, and do it. everything is different now. “door to door” canvassing is still very important. but other things are too. HRC will win, but she will be the last (and ironically first female) to do it off the old system. all bets are off, starting if not in 2020, 2024.

tl;dr: the crowd that votes according to weekly church xeroxes is dying, faster than this glass of wine in front of me is disappearing. we should all rejoice. Werking the new reality is going to be, and is, the game of all who care about the politics of the future.

Well Hillary’s a “biblical christian” as well. How does that all work? Being a democrat does not mean that you’re not a christian. Some of us are, some of us are not. What the hell is he even trying to say? The first amendment guarantees his right to be a christian, just as it guarantees my right to be an atheist. It also guarantees us ALL to be free of religious-based laws from ANYBODY’s religious book. He should kiss the nearest copy of the constitution and give a little thank you to our founding fathers.

Tony, honey, the real enemies of Biblical Christianity are literacy and education.

Today, my opponent, Sam_Handwich called on me to take a Religious Liberty test by denouncing shrimp as directed in the most Holy Babble in Leviticus 11:9-12. I stand before you as your candidate to say I reject such tyranny and oppression. I support the right of all people to go to Red Lobster after an exemplary session of coitus. Therefore, I ask my opponent Sam_Handwich to join me for a debate on this issue at the Red Lobster at 624 E St NW in Washington, DC on a date of his choosing. I only ask that he respond quickly because I have a coupon for All You Can Eat shrimp that expires soon.

Thank You and Vote JALAPEÑOBUSINESS On November 8th!

  • MikeBx2

There’s a reason why when including Catholics with Evangelicals, Perkins stresses “Bible believing” Catholics. I wish someone would question him on what other kind of Catholics would there be?

    • Gianni

      Apparently, the non-believing Catholics. 🙂

      • MikeBx2

Yep. Evangelicals believe Catholics and others aren’t true bible believers. Only Evangelicals/Born Again-ers are truly “saved”.

        • McSwagg

Evangelicals/Protestants claim that their theology is “philosophically” based on solo scriptorium, or ‘scripture only’. Catholic and Orthodox theology is based on scripture and tradition, and thus “Non-Biblical” in their view.

        • Gianni

Having been raised Catholic, I distinctly remember being told by the nuns in Sunday school that we should only have Catholic friends because other religions were not the true faith. Like any of us gave a damn.

          • McSwagg

As a catholic raised in the south, as soon as a protestant friend’s mother found out I was catholic, I was shunned. To the catholics, I wasn’t ‘pure catholic’ enough. Little wonder that I ditched religion completely as soon as I could.

    • JCF

      The MAJORITY of U.S. Catholics!

  • bambinoitaliano

If the blibical christianity involves pedophilia, rape, sexual assault, incest and molestation? Yes!!! A resounding yes that it needs to be DESTROY!!!!!!

    • m_lp_ql_m

What else is there in the bible?

      • Mark

Same sex love — Jonathan and David, Ruth and Naomi, the Roman soldier and his boy.

      • Child sacrifice interruptus.

God told Abraham to kill his kid, but then said “Just kidding!” at the last second. I assume Isaac spent the rest of his life looking over his shoulder.

Then there’s the mandate called “levirate marriage”. Basically, a guy whose brother died was required to marry his widow (regardless if he was married already or not). If he didn’t, she was supposed to spit in his face and take one of his shoes.

There are a lot of juicy stories that you won’t see in Ken Hamm’s Creation Museum.

      • sandollar_man

        1) Selling your daughter into marriage for 2 goats and a cow.
        2) Polygamy
        3) Slavery

        • I never understood how Biblical literalists can condemn polygamy today. The practice, though not commonplace, was practiced by more than a few of “God’s favored”.

Abraham had three wives (Sarah, Hagar and Keturah). Solomon had hundreds and King David had many as well.

There was no command to not have multiple wives. The command against adultery only forbade the taking of another man’s wife (which was essentially theft because women were deemed the property of their husbands).

          • sandollar_man

Actually, 20% of the Ten Commandments have the purpose of preventing one man from stealing another man’s wife.
The one that has to do with coveting also mentions a wife.
Now why would any God, even “care” who you choose as a wife?
Obviously it was written by vain selfish men.
Who made money by selling their daughters into marriage.

  • Mark

    Fuck your goddamn bible.

  • Gianni

When common sense, facts, and truth can’t/don’t work, strike the fear you want to see in their reactions by promising the destruction of their constitutionally protected right to have their own belief system, nonsensical as it is. You are the perfect demonstration of that nonsense, Tony.

  • JT
  • Tony, bubbeleh, I’M a threat to biblical Christianity!

“…Perkins, who recently fled his Louisiana home in a leaky canoe after White Jesus smited his hood with a righteous flood…”
This makes me laugh, but I hate myself for it, so it’s okay.
I clearly deserve a spanking… is Jeffrey Wright busy?

  • Greg B.

Okay, Tony. That’s what you said about Obama. But as we near the end of his second term, Christianity isn’t outlawed, you’re not in prison, and you’re still allowed to go on national television and spew your garbage. Nobody’s buying it, asshole.

    • Reality.Bites

      But his house was flooded.

      Thanks, Obama

  • MikeBx2

They pretty much said exactly the same of Obama in 2008. I don’t know about where y’all live, but nearly 8 years later there’s still a Christian church on just about every corner. Thanks Obama.

    • Reality.Bites

They’re really stealth taco trucks, ready to reveal themselves after the election.

      • RoFaWh

        If only!

  • Statistics Palin

Oh, don’t try to make me feel better about voting for Hillary. I’m too familiar with the Goldman Sachs wing of the party to vote for it with a clear conscience.

  • Mark

awwww shaddup ya slatherin shit stirrer.

  • Bill T.

WPWJG – Whose Pussy Would Jesus Grab?

  • Falconlights

The only threat to Biblical Christianity is “Christians” themselves. Many people learn by example and those “Christians” have displayed anything but a following of Jesus’s principles.

  • delk

I would have thought hiring a guy who stuck his fingers into his four-year-old sister’s vagina was a threat to biblical christianity.

  • Macbill

What, is Hillary going to do: outlaw all religions except Methodists?

That was they secret plan they told me in Methodist Sunday School when I was growing up.

“Biblical Christians ” the ones who selectively use parts of the Bible to camouflage their personal bigotry while ignoring any parts of the bible dealing with charity, kindness and humility. They are also the ones who say they speak directly for God.

  • Michael Hampton

Oh. So Tony wants you to participate in Trump’s sins of greed, pride, coveting, cheating, lying, and stealing to “protect” Christian values? Huh.

  • rednekokie

No no no no no no no no — Mr. Asswipe Perkins is the danger to biblical Christianity, because nothing he says or has ever said even remotely resembles Christianity, biblical or otherwise. But he’ll keep on howling the same as long as the dollars from widows keeps a’comin’ in. You can certainly count on that!!!

    • RoFaWh

Modern right wing fundagelical “christianity” in the US reminds me of marine parasites that destroy and take over the function of one or another body parts of the host. In the political case, MRWFgC has completely hollowed out the churches it infests but uses the remaining shell to spread the infection. Sort of!

  • Robert Conner

According to 1 Thessalonians, the earliest document in the New Testament, “biblical Christians,” the people Paul wrote to, are already supposed to be in the kingdom. Paul wrote this about the year 52 CE to reassure Christians who were concerned because some were dying and Jesus still hadn’t returned.

“According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.” (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17)

So why isn’t Tony Perkins “with the Lord forever” yet? The real “biblical Christians” are all dead and the Lord didn’t come down from heaven to the tune of trumpets, and the dead didn’t rise, and nobody got “caught up” to meet anyone in the air. And despite all the other hundreds of predictions made by Christians, nothing’s happened. What could be wrong? Could it be…Barak Obama?!?!

  • Traxley Launderette

Tony, The Dustbin of History called. Your suite is ready for you; unfortunately, however, due to unprecedented demand, you’ll have to share it with Pat Robertson until other accommodations can be arranged. They’re hoping to take care of that sometime mid-eternity.

  • After the rapture, can I have your car?

    • djcoastermark

I hope you know someone with a strong stomach to clean off all the spoogies before you get in.

“Hillary Is A Threat To Biblical Christianity”.
    I’m depending on it.

One of the best reasons to vote for Hillary for president is because all of the right wing extremist theocrats are against her. One of the best ways to tap down the extremist right is to vote Blue, up and down the ballot. Hillary for president and every Democrat running for a Senate or House seat.

  • abel

Miss Tonette’s brand of Christianity is neither Biblical nor Christian. He is fully worthy of Donald Trump, that’s for sure. Greedy, power-mad, bigoted, deluded, hateful – I could go on, but what’s the point. Miss Tonette is, like his candidate, a complete and total asshole.

  • JellyDonut

I believe that Hillary is an orthodox Methodist,
has been all her life, AND (I think) is the ONLY presidential candidate who goes to church regularly.

St. Ronnie NEVER went to church.

A goodly number of “family values” Republicans are serial adulterers and fornicators.

“Hillary Is A Threat To Biblical Christianity”

Wait, isn’t that a good thing?

    • Ore Carmi

Yeah, I have no problem with “love thy neighbor,” but I’m not so hot on “the Jews killed Jesus” and countless other treasures from the holy texts.

  • Richard B

It is utter nonsense to say Hillary is a threat to the biblical Christianity myths Tony Perkins panders to – On the other hand, Tony Perkins and much of the religious right made their bets and threw their full support to Donald Trump’s candidacy. . Now these grifters are in a full panic Donald Trump will lose the election.
I hope to goodness that Tony Perkins feels is feeling uncomfortable and threatened by the thought of a eight year reign of a strong and effective President Hillary Clinton. I hope Tony has sleepless nights worrying about the government doing good deeds for the people and our masses become less superstitious and are unmotivated by Tony’s angry invisible gods. I hope Tony become so unhinged by the thought a logical world based on equal rights, reason, science, and mutual love of our neighbors, that he runs into his backyard in a panic and digs himself a really deep hole in the ground and is never seen again.

    • Reality.Bites

A Democratic POTUS is their chief money-maker. A Republican – whether Trump or anyone else, ends up doing little they can praise (which doesn’t bring in money anyway) and nothing they can criticize (because they’re fellow Republicans). Different

  • tim870

Have any of these freaks contemplated what will really happen on 11/9 when this is all over and she wins? Or even after she’s inaugurated and there’s no nuclear holocaust, no biblical smiting, no civil war, no christians in jail, or any lunatics executed? Will they be disappointed?

  • Gianni

You should want Fux viewers, Tony, because, like you, they are more than a little adrift.

Candidate Badrug has created quite a schism among “God’s People.” Not destroyed it, but definitely mussed its hair (presumably the original in most cases).
