Trump In 1999: Ivanka Made Me Promise Not To Date Girls Younger Than Her And The Field Is Very Limited

The New York Daily News reports:

Donald Trump must not play blackjack, because he wanted to hit on 17. The casino owner and future Republican nominee told Howard Stern in 1999 that his daughter Ivanka, who was 17 at the time, had made him swear not to date anyone younger than her.

“I have a deal with her. She’s 17 and doing great — Ivanka. She made me promise, swear to her that I would never date a girl younger than her,” Trump said during a taping of Howard Stern’s radio show in June 1999. “So as she grows older, the field is getting very limited.”

“The nerve of her. Now you can’t go out with 16-year-olds,” Howard Stern joked in response. The boorish comments, unearthed by a Democratic strategist and shared exclusively with the Daily News, came as Trump was going through his second divorce.

He had already begun dating Melania, who later became his third wife. She was 29 at the time, 12 years older than Ivanka and 24 years younger than Trump, who was just about to turn 53 when the program aired.

The age of consent in New York is 17, so Trump essentially told Ivanka that he wouldn’t violate statutory rape law. Trump’s campaign did not respond to requests for comment. They’re the latest in a string of controversial remarks Trump made in his regular call-ins to the shock jock’s program.

“Date” he calls it. Good freakin’ LORD.

Lot fucked his daughter, God didn’t destroy him like the fags in the previous chapter, so play ball…with your actual daddy…’scuse me, I need to go vomit.

    • Lazycrockett

But to be fair Lot’s daughters got him black out drunk so its REALLY those evil women’s fault.

      • Tigernan Quinn

Are you guys thinking of Noah?

        • Nowhereman

Could be both of them. They buybull is full of sex and drugs and rock throwing.

No Noah just cursed his son and all of his future generations to slavery after son laughed at drunk naked Noah.

    nate silver…
There have been 11 post-debate polls in swing states so far and Clinton’s led in all 11. Something’s definitely changed…

    • Bruno

She got a bounce. I’m just surprised it was so clear that she won, because the bar is set so low for tRump. He obviously failed to reach that bar. But there are 2 more debates and this is a hell of a volatile electorate this year. Don’t be surprised if this bounce tightens quickly, and if tRump performs “well” (i.e. like he’s not some cocaine-addled lunatic) in the 2nd and/or 3rd debates.

      • Gustav2

Trump has a knack for not reaching the low bar set for him.

        • Bruno

It’s called arrogance. He pulled even or even ahead in the polls and thought him being him was working again. Now that he’ll see it’s not, expect a more sedate (i.e. not coked out) version at the next debates.

          • Gustav2

Every time he has had a new set of handlers, it has worked for a while before Trump ignores the handlers. Then his children have to fire them and get new handlers. At this stage of the election getting new staff is not possible.

          • Bruno

All anyone has to do is convince him that he needs to dial it back again if he wants to win. That’s how it worked after they hired Conway. I’m sure it’s the kids that do the convincing anyway, but these polls the last few days should help.

By the time Oct. 9th rolls around, Clinton’s bounce will have shrunk again anyway due to some huge round of emails/foundation/health.

          • Brianna Amoré

I think the Clinton campaign has a whole binder full of potential scandals that they can bait Trump with when the previous scandal begins to die down. It’s clear they’ve been keeping their powder dry and only setting one irresistible trap for him at a time. And those traps have worked flawlessly.

          • Brianna Amoré

It’s beyond arrogance and well into hubris. By the time this whole shit show of an election is said and done, his name won’t be worth the dirt his buildings are sitting in. Hopefully his entire empire crumbles and his children are left with nothing. Poetic justice doesn’t even begin to describe what’s in store for Trump.

          • teeveedub

He needs to crawl back into the vermin-infested sewer from whence he came.

          • RoFaWh

            Gold-plated vermin.

          • stuckinthewoods

I hope this will play out like a Greek tragedy. Trump should have kept it at oibos (happy beginning) but his hubris brought his misdealings to light. In his current mental instability we see Ate (madness, folly). I look forward to Nemesis in his future.

          • Galvestonian

He’s so far beyond arrogance as I believe that mentally he thinks that he can not fail in anything – he has instilled in his brain that everything he does and says is right in a superior fashion, he believes everyone and everything is in his favor and that he can do no wrong. He thinks he can lie, steal, cheat, say anything and do anything because he has power and money — or the illusion of power and money that can fool the general public who he largely considers and believes to be fools and ripe for the pickings.

          • Bj Lincoln

They are fools. He is targeting the ignorant and their ‘feelings’ . Most uneducated people are poor and perpetuate discrimination of the ‘other’. Most white poor can’t stand anyone different from themselves because they are stupid. They also are afraid of strong women because of their religious beliefs. Most believe in a strict form of christianity and women should be passive and quiet baby machines. Many can’t stand people who are smarter than them and Trump fits the bill. Limited vocabulary and repetition go a long way with this crowd.

          • RoFaWh

It’s not that Drumpf consciously and with forethought lies, steals, cheats, says anything, and does anything because of his power (?) and money (?).

He’s utterly unaware that there is a distinction between topics one can discuss over dinner and ones you can’t discuss there. (So to speak.) So he acts spontaneously but always in a way he imagines (n.b. not “thinks”) will put money in his pocket and applause in his ears. Thus many of his actions disgust and repulse decent people who learn of them.

Drumpf is not what I’d call a “decent person”, btw.

          • McSwagg

Poetic Justice would be if the entire Trump clan had to move to Russia due to financial difficulties.

          • RoFaWh

            He’s incapable of changing.

The man is a prisoner of whatever kind of disorder he’s suffering from. Good.

        • stuckinthewoods

Painted highway lane markers are higher than the low bar set for him.

      • thom

I also think it will tighten… but the next debate will be fun. it’s a townhall format with questions from voters. I don’t know if trump can restrain himself from criticizing or correcting anyone who doesn’t fawn over him.
and Clinton clearly knows how to irritate him and throw him off his game

      • lymis

The “traditional wisdom” is that Trump could come back from a lackluster first debate and trounce her in a later one. But he’s never going to up her on the facts, and if he doubles down on the brutish and rude behavior and makes more explicitly personal attacks, that’s going to cost him. Nor, at this point, would simply behaving himself and not being a jackass be enough – he might not damage himself more, but since that’s expected behavior, he won’t get points for it.

The only thing that could shift it is if Hillary lost it. And that is one of the few gifts of the Benghazi Bullshit – we know, and she knows, that she can put up with intolerable behavior for 11 hours. An hour and a half with a whiny toddler is nothing.

        • Bruno

All true, but I think if he behaved himself at the subsequent debates, it could be coupled with fake emailpneumoniaghazi!!!11! stories to chip away at her lead. That’s just the unfortunate state of this country today that fake scandals matter more than what people can see with their own eyes is drug-addled volatile temperament.

          • lymis

At this point, having watched Trump slide past dozens of revelations that would have tanked ANY other political candidate, I am certainly not going to say it couldn’t happen.

But we’ve finally gotten into the stage of the campaign where the average voter starts to pay attention and make their final decisions, as well as officially into early voting in some locations, with more and more coming on line soon.

And Trump is entering that both behind in most polls AND creating a seriously bad impression, even if you only look at this week. Unless Hillary does something genuinely awful – and an email server isn’t at that sort of level – she’s likely to benefit from this, and even more likely to bounce higher.

The media has finally started to realize that they can make headlines and draw viewers with negative Trump stories, and that the fawning pro-Trump coverage was making them look stupid. So I suspect the media will course-correct. At this point, there are enough Trump scandals that have been reported but under-covered that they could pick one for every day and not run out before the election.

Heck, they’re even reporting that Trump is claiming that their coverage is skewed against him – and doing so by making him look childish and petulant.

          • Bruno

From your keyboard to Dog’s ears. Seriously, I hope everything you said is right. But this election cycle has burned me so bad so far, I just can’t go there yet. The key will be your paragraph about how there are many voters who don’t start to pay attention until the first debate. It’s kind of like voters who don’t start to pay attention until the conventions. But Clinton got a big bounce from the convention which got whittled away in about a month. There’s still time left for that to happen. As far as Hillary doing something generally awful, she won’t, but aside from the email server thing I can’t think of anything she’s done that’s been so awful. But people believe she does awful things all the time, seemingly just by being alive. And I don’t trust the media to change their stripes one bit. I can hope, though.

          • lymis

Historically, and I do know how little history seems to apply this cycle, convention bounces fade, but debate bounces stick unless the candidate does something to tank them.

Obama came back from the dead in the second and third debates (something I don’t see Trump doing), but Romney also did that delightful 47% speech, which more than anything, destroyed him. I don’t see that sort of thing coming from Hillary. She won’t do it now when things are too important, and if she’d done anything like it before, they would have gleefully reported it.

          • Bruno

Well actually, now that you mention the 47% speech…

Can’t forget about “basket of deplorables.” As much as we on this side of the aisle may have agreed with the statement itself, most people felt that was a pretty bad gaffe. Perhaps even “awful.” Now it’s obvious that it didn’t do permanent damage since she’s bounced back up in the polls again, but she’ll have to be really disciplined with that shit from now on.

          • lymis

The basket of deplorables thing really doesn’t seem to have much traction.

          • Bruno

It played a big part in the election polls tightening to a tie last week, along with Clinton’s swooning video. I have people on my FB (Clinton supporters and others) who went ballistic over it. But mainly what I’m saying is that has to be her last big gaffe if she wants to keep the distance between her and the Dusty Old Cheeto.

          • teeveedub

And the “basket of deplorables” comment also led eventually to the Pepe the Frog revelation and the fact that Trump, his family, his supporters, and his surrogates are inextricably associated with white supremacy.

          • Mikkal VanPelt

Speaking truth doesn’t seem to get much traction these days.

          • CottonBlimp

Polls since the basket of deplorables comment have shown most Americans agree with it, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

          • Brianna Amoré

Hillary is extremely disciplined, knowledgeable, and a pro. Trump is nothing but an overgrown child with the temperament and discipline of a hyperactive chihuahua. I think she’s got this.

          • thatotherjean

Now why would you insult chihuahuas like that? I don’t know a single one that would pee on Trump’s shoes.

          • Brianna Amoré

I’ve met some extremely cute chihuahuas, and I’ve met some extremely annoying ones as well. I’m thinking of the annoying ones.

          • RoFaWh

Judging from the Youtube videos of rescuing abandoned chihuahuas from life on the street, I’d call them vicious and hard to calm down.

Some dog rescue videos to make everyone feel better about humanity after reading about the human cesspool that is Drumpf’s “campaign”. No chihuahuas in them, however.

In the meantime, we also have Hillary’s surrogates out on the campaign trail, rolling up their sleeves and saying the things about Drumpf that would get her into trouble if she said them.

          • RoFaWh

Those things about Drumpf that would get Ms. Clinton in trouble? It’s a shame the truth has so little value these days.

          • teeveedub

She’s being held to a standard (probably based on her gender) that she can’t be perceived as too pointed, too vicious, too hostile. So her choice becomes, do I want to go ahead and swim upstream about that gender stereotype (putting her chances off being elected at further risk) and be blunt and go on the attack, or do I want to be pragmatic and take the so-called higher road, letting my surrogates do the dirty work? She seems to have taken the latter.

I agree. It’s a shame that she has to sugar-coat the truth, particularly against a candidate who has no regard for the truth whatsoever.

      • Nick in Pasadena

It’s doubtful that the 2nd and 3rd debates will get the audience the first one drew. That was the biggie, and showed 100 million people very clearly who their choices are.

Melania is 46 now, so it’s just a matter of time before Trump dumps her for a newer model. Ivanka is now 34, so I’m sure we all sympathize with her dad having to shop for a new wife and being limited to women 35 and older. Ew.

    • TampaDink

He’s never been married for more than 15 yrs., and was already dating his next wife before the existing marriage ended. Melania is currently the oldest than any (current) wife has been….her days as his wife are numbered.

Calling it, within six months of him losing the election.

      • bobbyjoe

Not if the person in question is 16 years old or younger, as Trump is talking about there. It’s statutory rape, but it would be rape.

    • james1200

    • lymis

Most 17 year olds, no. But remember, this is Serial Dad we’re talking about. She had every reason to believe he’d be trading in wives every couple of years, and that if she didn’t put her foot down early (as in, while he still had the hots for her), she could easily end up with a stepmother younger than herself.

And, if she’s as much of a Trump as she appears, the concern was probably more about not having a competing heir to Dad’s fortune who could reasonably be expected to outlive her and her brothers.

    • TampaDink

People are saying that it was pillow talk. Sometimes there is no accounting for the comments shared in those post-coital moments.

This is how I’m getting through the next four years:

-Eric Trump said Ivanka wouldn’t let herself get sexually harrassed. That’s why she avoids her father.
-Trump only touched Ivanka’s hips and tried to kiss Pence as foreplay to fucking us all.
-Ivanka Trump is pregnant with her third child, Donald is hoping it’ll be a girl who is so hot he’d bang her if she wasn’t his granddaughter.
-Trump says that if Ivanka were sexually harassed at work he’d “like to think she’d find another career.” How does she still work for him?

Yeah, San Diego proper seems at least not rabidly Republican to me but I don’t know all the neighborhoods so it might vary some. But even San Diego County as a whole doesn’t seem as uniformly conservative. I think the Dems could make some real inroads if they just got more people registered and voting.

          • Bruno

That corridor in So Cal between the Mexican border and LA is definitely moving towards the left. Even Orange County is becoming more swing. It’s just the Central Valley (i.e. West Oklahoma) that’s still dragging the state right at all.

          • SoCalGal20

Don’t forget the Inland Empire! Still very red but even there, there are some purple areas at least.

          • Bruno

The IE is kind of like a car collision between the CV and the coastal corridor. I think it’s trending more Democratic too, even though it’s still very socially conservative.

          • SoCalGal20

There’s a lot of diversity in at least parts of San Diego and Orange County which is probably helping the areas be a little more Democratic/liberal these days. I have hope. 🙂

          • Bruno

Maybe Issa will go down and that’ll be a sign of things to come. I already like the fact that 2 Dems are going to be running for Senator (one from Orange County).

Also, this Friday is looking pretty awesome so far. Angry Cuban-Americans, Drumpf Foundation not certified, Dem getting out early voting in NC, Hillary up in FL. 🙂

    • Bruno

Does the Cuba story have legs for real? I’d love to see those numbers tank in Florida, but I’m trained to expect only the worst in this election.

      • SoCalGal20

Trump’s Florida spokesperson (? I think that’s who it was) already resigned. It absolutely will have legs with the heavily Republican Cuban-American voting bloc in Miami-Dade County.

      • Kruhn

The elder Cubans could stay home and cost Florida ti the Mangled Apricot Hellbeast.

        • Bruno

Yes, I hope the Floridians stick it to the Witless Fucking Cocksplat.

      • lymis

As a former Floridian, people who are unfamiliar with Cuban-Americans really have no sense of how passionate they are about the issue. I can’t speak for Millennial Cuban-Americans, but their parents and grandparents are not going to tolerate that news.

I’m waiting to see the tap-dance Rubio has to do around it.

        • Bruno

Yeah, Rubio’s response will be telling as to how serious it is. Though he’s such a liar that it might not be, on second thought.

      • IamM

Did he illegally break the embargo on Cuba, yes.
Did he flat out lie to the Cuban voters in Florida, yes.

O/T: Clinton +6 in NV (Suffolk University)
    Clinton 44

I think that’s just about as big a spread as I’ve ever seen in NV for her.

      • safari

The Hill says that is the case.

        • Bruno

I’m hoping that all the NV polls this year have as usual been underestimating Dem turnout. NV should never have been as close as the polls indicated.

      • Robincho

Ben Cartwright’s not the only one with a big Nevada spread…

    • SoCalGal20

I hope that’s legit. The Dems are working very hard there. I had such a great time volunteering with the East Las Vegas office last weekend.

I know I haven’t written anything here about my volunteer experience there yet but I will this weekend.

      5.) false equivalency
6.) growing stupidity/lessening public education funds and standards

      • MichaelJ

All of these points are true, but I would add, 7) the right-wing’s success at demonizing Clinton, and 8) Clinton being a less than ideal candidate (even if she weren’t demonized).

        • Bruno

I can’t think of any candidate that comes closer to ideal in recent history than Obama did in 2008. We’ve been spoiled by his candidacy.

        • lymis

Hell, the only thing that would make her more ideal would be past military service.

          • boatboy_srq

IIRC past service didn’t help Tammy Duckworth. (D) seems to cancel out everything.

          • lymis

Missed the point. Duckworth was not ALSO a first lady both state and national, a senator, and a Secretary of State during wartime, not to mention both her law degree and what corporate experience she has.

The question was Clinton’s qualifications for president, and she’s far more qualified than the vast majority of previous candidates. The only qualification that others have had that she doesn’t in the military time.

          • boatboy_srq

Not missing the point, just pointing out that no single qualifier for office will ever be recognized by wingnuts if the holder is a Democrat.

So many really promising politicians, over the years, have been swept out of contention by just one surprising gaffe. Sometimes something stupid from their past. Maybe Trump benefits from the sheer immensity of the pool of his gaffes, in which no one can locate, or concentrate on for long, any one single instance.

  • Buford

I’ll be Devil’s Advocate… pretty sure Trump is saying that he promosed to, going forward, never date anyone younger than Ivanka… meaning that when Ivanka is 40, Trump needs to look at 40+ for gal pals. I don’t beleive he’s lamenting that he cannot date 16-and younger girls in that interview.

    • lymis

I’m confident that he’d say exactly that, right up until Ivanka is 40 and he’s looking for wife #5 or #6.

Of course, if I recall correctly, wife #3 is the one who produces the male heir young and then passes away, wives 4 and 5 are executed for adultery, and wife 6 outlives him.

But I may have him confused with someone else.

  • There is no way he didn’t spend years molesting her. No way.

And Ivanka is a foolish woman if she thinks her father feels bound by any promise he’d ever make. Like, for example, the wedding vows he swore to her own damned mother? He cheated on her and bragged about it! Then there’s the alleged domestic violence and rape.

And as if that wasn’t enough, her father did it all over again with her newly installed step-mom!

That is one seriously twisted, fucked up family… but mainly Donald himself.
