Fox News Reacts To Sean Hannity’s Appearance In New Trump Ad: He Won’t Be Doing Anything Like This Again

So they say. The Washington Post reports:

Fox News host Sean Hannity appears committed to checking off all the boxes for pro-Donald Trump advocacy. He routinely has Trump on his Fox News program and feeds him easy questions. He has advised the candidate on an informal basis. He once paid to fly Newt Gingrich to Indiana to discuss a possible vice-presidential candidacy with Trump.

Now Hannity is putting his loyalties to work for a promotional video from the Republican presidential nominee’s campaign. #HEARTLAND4TRUMP is an eight-minute-plus promotion featuring testimonials regarding Trump’s Second Amendment policies and the ravages of contemporary politics.

“We had no knowledge that Sean Hannity was participating in this,” says a Fox News spokesperson, “and he will not be doing anything along these lines for the remainder of the election.”

Hannity appears at the 6:00 mark.

    • Jerry

Apparently even Lindsey Graham and John McCain think it’s funny.

  • bkmn

How long before Hannity goes off on his own to build a Glenn Beck or Rush-like empire?

    • Chucktech

As soon as Fox News fires him.

      • TampaDink

Which apparently, takes an awful lot of evidence. Maybe if Hannity rapes some poor fox news intern, live on the air……

        • Chucktech

Fox Upper Management: Hmmm… got anything else?

    • jimbo65

I’d say let em. The guy’s a total tool. Speaking of which, rumor has it that that’s the only thing going for him is that he’s allegedly hung.

      • gaymex1

Talk about carrying useless excess baggage.

        • Nowhereman

In his case, it’s probably vestigial–like Trump’s. People have said that those statues are anatomically correct. Many people are saying that. There’s something going on here, people–believe me!

          • gaymex1

Vestigial…yes, or just an extension of his naval.

      • Nowhereman

In that case, shouldn’t they have him in spandex and a muscle shirt sitting on a high stool behind a clear desk? Oh wait–not the demographic that watches Fox.

    • another_steve

      “Trump News Network.”

      • B Snow

Yes, he must know it’s going to be a thing, and he’s laying the foundation for his next career move.

      Not soon enough.

    • LovesIrony

if fox were serious about ethics they’d be in the ratings cellar, their followers don’t want ethical people telling them ethical things.

    • John30013

Any other anchor on any other network–especially if they appeared in a Clinton commercial–would be suspended, if not fired outright; and you can bet Trump would be the loudest mouth shouting for their dismissal and whining about how biased and unfair the networks are towards him.

But it’s perfectly fine when it’s one of Fox News’ stars, and someone who’s been in Trumps pocket from the beginning.

Typical right-winger: it’s only wrong when the other side does it.

    • NedFlaherty

No. If Fox were serious about journalism ethics, they’d: (a) stop denying climate change, (b) advertise Hannity as merely a partisan lobbyist; (c) fire most of their current staff, and (d) re-build the network from scratch.

    • Good one.

  • Michael R

FOX should just hire Trump for a daily segment called
‘ What Crooked Hillary Did Today “

  • HKDaniel

It’s only wrong if a democrat did it.

Does anyone really take Fox News seriously these days?

A plague of locusts on them.

    • Tor

Unfortunately, many do. I was recently at my millionaire cousin’s house, and Fox News was playing on every giant-screen in the house. (The rest of the family is not as successful, so they play FN on their regular sets.)

      • another_steve

I occasionally put Fox on, when I’m feeling particularly fem. I want to know what the current state of big-boobied femness is today.

(Fellow fems reading here will understand.)

    • DN

haha once again I didn’t read the comments before I posted the same thought

      • jimbo65

It’s all good. 😉 On the flip side I did not know about the Rachel Maddow commentary around that time. Fascinating. Thanks

    • gothambear

yeah but that whiny patsy George Stephanopoulos is still pretending to be a serious newscaster on ABC’s Good Morning America even after admitting making a donation to the Clinton Foundation…

      • The Clinton foundation is not the Clinton campaign. That’s so tired. the Clinton Foundation is an ethical, well-run organization. Trump’s foundation is a slush fund he uses for personal purposes.

  • Brian in Valdosta

What exactly is the problem? It’s not like he’s actually a journalist or an anchor of an actual news show. He’s essentially the host of a conservative talk show.

    • Chucktech

I guess the problem is that even though you’re unfair and imbalanced bare ass is hanging out you’re not supposed to wave it around and show it off so blatantly.

      • not supposed to show off in other places: restrict his mooning of America to FoxBlows

        • saucetin

Costa Rica. That was Limbuaugh. They could both go. But, so, too–Amy Schumer just said much the same re trumpf–as if that were persuasive than when the other side said it, emptily. No one mindchanged.

      and maybe extra on weekends!

  • danolgb

Talking to the guy at 5:10. You think Trump and the Republican’s want to protect the public lands from private interests? Wow! You’re a special kind of stupid.

    • EweTaw

The public lands folks here in the Beehive Hairdo State are fierce defenders of keeping it all in the government’s hands, just as God intended … except for the extra special brethren who have a wild bug up their collective butts for privatizing everything so we can all enjoy eating KFC, Big Mac and Wendy’s in the middle of Delicate Arch in Arches National Park. Some of the southern residents can’t wait to eat at an Applebees on top of Zions Canyon. But they are in the minority. But with Trump at the helm of the government the minority will be just that closer to their greedy dreams.

You really have to be stupid to vote for Trump. Really stupid.

      • danolgb

I am very familiar with the public land fight in Utah. (I’m a regular SLTrib reader and SLC is my hometown.)

        • EweTaw

It’s still my home town. I’ve lived in more interesting places, but City Creek Canyon is my back yard. There are few places where you can walk from a dense metro city center and be in wilderness 15 minutes later. Despite the frustration of living among such peculiar people (and an even stranger LGBT community — you don’t know what PC is or cock blocking until you’ve spent time in SLC) I haven’t been able to give up how beautiful the rest of the State is. Maybe when I retire I can move to Castledale and live off of my organic garden.

          Where did you escape to?

    • Nowhereman

Trump would like to fire all our poor people and then sell all our national parks to the oil companies.

      • Kyle Lyles

        “GIVE then to Trump Companies.”

        • RoFaWh

Drumpf is a little too sneaky for that. He’d probably have the Drumpf Organization broker the sale to the oil companies.

        • Nowhereman

Or pay with Trump Foundation money…

  • Belthazar

That’s only because Fox is so “Fair & Balanced”.

  • Sam_Handwich
  • olandp

Hillary will sell off public lands? Really? I thought that was the Republican’s job. Maybe that is what they mean when they talk about someone taking away their jobs.

    • Chucktech

I’m not going to watch this saccharine tripe, but is that what they said?? Jesus, project much?? I thought selling off, I dunno, the Grand Teton Nation Park was part of Trump’s plan to balance the budget, or some stooopid shit like that.

      • olandp

Yes, that is exactly what one of the morans said.

        • LeeCMH

If Trump sells Teton National Park, he can build his next palace prominently on the Teton’s Mount Moran.

      • righteous mob

They won’t make enough to do that by selling it at a discount to the Mormon church.

        • Chucktech

          The Chinese will pay more…

    • SoCalGal20

Everything is opposite world with them. Whatever they say Hillary is doing is what they’re doing. Trump wants some oil exec to be Secretary of the Interior, for fuck’s sake. At least with Hillary we’ll still have a National Park system.

      • OdieDenCO

oh, we would still have a national park system under donny, but all the parks would resemble either the la brea tar pits or the grand cannon.

        • SoCalGal20

I’d expect all public lands to be turned over to the respective states and the National Park system dismantled under his administration.

Forget the blight of McD’s and Buger King. They’d mine, drill, and chop down all the trees.

          • RoFaWh

And dam every last undammed river.

Grand Canyon, I’m looking at you. And San Francisco could always used Yosemite Valley as backup to their reservoir in the (formerly) equally beautiful Hetch-Hetchy valley nearby.

  • greenmanTN

Much to my shame, the first time I saw Hannity (at least 10 years ago) I thought “He’s kinda cute!” Then I listened to what he was saying and it was, “Maybe with a ball-gag in his mouth?”

    • Friday

One of these days, society will mature and you boys will actually have to stop talking like that when the Fundies aren’t screaming their invective, you know. 🙂

      • greenmanTN

Hmmm. I’m not sure if that was a criticism or a compliment.

But in any case, I initially found him attractive, but not after I heard his political ideology. The ball-gag thing was a joke.

        • Friday

I was also joking about how much I hear from you boys about how you find even asswipes sexually-attractive. If it weren’t drowned out by the utter hate-speech and we were in a saner world, I imagine that wouldn’t be considered polite. (Meanwhile, if you were straight, treating women that way would be way uncool.)

          • greenmanTN

I don’t think it’s specific to gay men or anyone really. Behind many a pretty face there is a lot of ugly, and that goes for lesbians too. Saying someone, male or female, visually appeals to you even though you find their politics or ideology repugnant is just an observation.

It isn’t like their former manager and sexual assaulter regular, isn’t working back in his former capacity, Republican presidential candidate debate coach, or anything… Did they think they were that gawdawefull Liberal media, or something???
